No Sound Playing Movies

Hello, first post on here so bare with me...my ipod does not have any sound when playing movies. The picture quality is great but NO SOUND. I tried checking settings and have not found anything that changes this. Does anyone know the reason, or has anyone had a similar problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing you should do is subscribe to one of the free iTunes video Podcasts and sync one of those and verify they play ok. If they do...
QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, when you convert videos in iTunes to iPod format they only show the video and no sound since iTunes (really QuickTime) is not looking for the audio track within the video track and it gets lost.

One way to work around this is to use MPEG Streamclip to convert the files to fix this issue...

Push and hold the select button on the remote while the content is playing. You should get an audio options menu. Guessing you selected one of the the secondary audio track options by mistake somewhere.

No video but sound when playing .mov files

I should explain better. The mov files are exports from a 2-year-old MBP using FCP and exporting the files as self-contained movies. They were exported to use as an archive and saved on DVDs. Now I'm working on a 4 year-old MBP with FCE and trying to open the files with quicktime after downloading them from the DVD archives. I get the sound but no video. Please help me resolve this.

Sounds play faster than images when streaming a movie trailer on quicktime

When I move my mac, a sound plays?

When I carry my mac to a different room, a sound plays. I sthis normal.

Is it like a short beep? I believe that is the accelerometer that senses motion of the Mac and moves the head off the hard drive disk to protect it in case it is falling, being dropped, or possiblky being jarred. It tends to make that sound only when the Mac is moved rapidly. This is normal, it's to protect your Mac. Apple has a patent on the device, it's called a "Sudden Motion Sensor."

Lost all my sound when playing movies and shows from internet

i seemed to have lost all sound when playing movies from internet. i still have "system" sounds and beeps?

The speaker is not that good but maybe yours is defective if you have the volume fully raised.
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted and have a poor contact.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Check also Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing. Make sure that the sound balance is not set all the way to "R" or "R".
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or other hardware problem.

Need trouble shooting advice. When playing movies I'm getting no sound / playback freezes. Tried uninstall and downloaded newest version still no improvement. Music playlists work fine.

Movie sound plays in background when I connect a Bluetooth Headset.

My early 2013 Macbook Pro Retina likes to play movies, and or music upon successfully pairing a Bluetooth headset. It's annoying to kill whichever application causes it every time I pair. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Just wasted 15 minutes doing the same searching you have done Sam. Still no answers. I'm under the impression that it is an Apple subconscious classical conditioning experiment, like Pavlov's dog. Apple hopes that we will stop using spotify, or pandora, or soundcloud, because we have been conditioned to see iTunes pop up on our macs every time we play music. Sorry Apple. Not going to work.

Can no longer play Google Play Movies on tv

Prior to the 4.4.2 update to the Xperia Z tablet, I had no issues connecting and viewing Google Play Movies on my tv, using the MHL adapter. Now, it gives me an error: Premium content can't be played on this screen because it is not secure. Does anyone else have this issue?

This sounds like a change to their DRM files, this limitation is quite common with this sort of content so is unlikely to be altered back sorry.

When you say tit only sees your music folder, are you saying it only sees your music folder or does it see other empty folders.
