No sound through the USB wire to my external interface.

Here is my problem: The interface (Roland Octa-Capture) is set as "default" in the apple preferences, AND in Logic pro, of course, but, though it works perfectly well as long as I plug a microphone in (throug a pre-amp), once I Launch the tune in Logic, the sound of the already taped lines (the sound of Logic, in fact) is only to hear through the internal speakers of the Mac! Nothing goes through the USB wire to the interface and to the monitors where the interface is plugged.
What am I doing wrong?

What about in other software eg. iTunes - do your MP3s play back fine through the Roland and over the speakers?
If that's the case, go into Logic's preferences:

and choose the Roland as the Output Device.

No sound through the USB headphones
When I plug in my USB headphones, I get no sound until I go to the Sound panel in System Preferences, go to Output, highlight the headphones, and then turn "mute" off and on at the bottom of the preference box. After that the sound works fine, until I either unplug the headphones or put the computer either off or to sleep.
I am using Logitech headphones (350) but I'm not sure if the headphones are the problem.
I really can't tell if this is a hardware or software problem.

But the problem is not merely a switch to the default setting:
a) even when the computer goes to sleep and wakes up and the headphones remained plugged in, the sound disappears and I have to click and unclick the mute button to make it work. The settings have all remained the same.
b) the same thing happens with another pair of headphones
c) it didn't used to do this, the problem started a few weeks ago. (I can't pin it down to any particular upgrade or installation.)

Ipod touch no longer charges with USB nor does it output sound through the connector
2 problems after the latest iOS update:
(1) my 3rd generation iPod Touch no longer changes when connected to the computer through the USB connection. It says that the device is not supported for connection through USB. My computer is running Snow Leopard and all software is up to date.
(2) it also does not output sound through my clock radio nor through the built-in ipod connection in my MINI.
This all worked great until the latest iOS update. Something broke in the latest update.
anyone else seeing this issue?You can try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem then the iOS broke full compatibility. you have to then wait for either Apple to fix the problem in an iOS update or for Honda to fix it via a firmware update/

My amp has an USB input but when I attach my mac pro to it, and set the input to the USB setting, no sound comes out. I looked at the system settings, but none of them produce a different outcome. How can I send the music through the USB out to USB in?
AFAIK cameras offer their own built-in format utility for inserted SD cards. You should use that. Otherwise, refer to the manual that came with your camera to determine precisely how your SD cards need to be formatted to work properly. Personally, I'd suggest Partition Scheme: MBR, and Filesystem: FAT32.
Try to limit the number of formats you perform on the SD cards, though, as you're reducing their lifespan. I believe formatting causes re-writes to a portion of the SD card that has fewer read/write cycles than the rest of the card as a whole. -
Im connectioning my macbook to my hdmi port in tv. I am getting no sound through the tv only the macbook speakers. anyone know how to get my tv to read sound?
The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI doesn't carry audio unless you have the Mid 2010 model 7,1 and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI. But check your TV manual to see if it has audio plugs that work with one of the HDMI ports.
If you have the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody or Late 2009 model 6,1 White Unibody with the Mini DisplayPort rather than the Mini-DVI there is an adapter that uses the Mini DisplayPort and a USB port to combine video and audio to HDMI. It's only 2 channel stereo not 5.1 Dolby Surround.

The Mini-DVI port doen't carry audio at all. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 model 6,1 and Mid 2010 model 7,1 White Unibody have a Mini DisplayPort. The Early 2006 model 1,1 through Early 2008 model 4,1s plus the Early and Mid 2009 model 5,2s have Mini-DVI ports.
To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here. -
Neither my iPod Touch nor my iPhone will show up in iTunes when I plug in through the USB cable. My software is updated, I've restarted everything, I've reset the devices, but still no luck. Help?!
Check your System Profiler to see if your computer is recognizing them. You may need to reset the computers SMC.

My ipod video wont play sound through the headphone jack or the bottom connector
Hello everyone. I have an iPod Video 60GB (supports video output through the headphone jack). Which I believe was the last one before the iPod "classic".
Anyways awhile back it stopped outputting sound through the headphone jack, I assumed I had damaged the jack itself as commonly happens but it stopped outputting sound through the dock connector to my ipod speaker dock and my cars ipod connector. The clicker wont make any noise either.
When I tried to search for an answer to this problem years ago I couldnt find anything and knowing it would be out of warrenty I put it aside and forgot about it. Having searched again recently it seems as if this could be the audio processor or some component on the board coming loose? Has anyone outlined this problem with pictures and steps to repair it?
I *may* take it in and pay the $30 but I would much prefer to fix it myself. Thank you for any help with this.Update: The model # is MA147LL. Not sure why my edit didnt take effect.

No sound through the HDMI connector using Qosmio G30-201 & Vista
I am getting no sound through the HDMI connector using VISta.
I have XP and Vista on my laptop.
When i boot into Xp I can get the sound to come through the television but when I boot into vista I have no sound coming through.
I have just reloaded both partions with Xp and vista so it is a fresh install on both and it is still doing the same thing.
Please help.

My iphone 4 wont play sound through the internal speaker. Will play if I hook up headphones. I have reset it, restored it, and it does the same thing. I can still hear when i make calls too. The the output button only says dock connector or apple tv.
If the phone has ever gotten wet it may be damaged. It may also have dirt or a bent pin in the dock connector or the earphone jack. Try cleaning the dock connector and inspecting it with a magnifying glass. Try inserting and removing the earphone plug several times. If you have restored it and that did not fix the problem damage is the most likely cause.

Why do I get no sound through the i-pad speakerts when using Keynotes but when external speakers or headphones are plugged in sound is there. Also how do you get back to the program page when in play mode on i-pad?
Whoa, I found the answer by clicking on one of the questions in the "More Like This" box to the right. I do wonder how to find that box before posting my dumb question. The answer turned out to be checking the youtube volume control. I turned that up and it solved the problem for Comast as well.

How to make the alarm sound through the earbuds?
With both my 5 and my wife's 4S the alarm (using the IOS clock app) sounds through the speaker, even with the earbuds plugged in. We want to use the alarm through the earbuds only. Is this possible?

Hi Guys,
My iPhone is stuck in a mode where it thinks the headset is still plugged in.
I cant get any sounds through the speaker. Cant hear sms or emails arrive. If the phone rings i hear it but pple cant hear me or i cant hear them.
The phone works fine with the headphones plugged in.
I have tried all the usual solutions, inserted and removed the headset (at least 50 times)

Nothing seems to work. I have searched on this and it seems to be a well know issue but there doesnt seem to be any firm solutions that i can find to fix the problemIf no change after inserting and removing the headset at least 50 times, powering the iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, and restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.
