No sound when I use the trash!!!

I use my PowerBook 17 Inch with two Lacie external disks: 600GB and 250 GB. On Lacie 250 I have installed the same system of PowerBook. So, after uploaded both to 10.4.5.
I can' t hear the sound of the " empty trash " on the Lacie 250 !
All of sounds, alert or the " puffs " in the dock when I take off applications, are working regolary but nothing from "the trash" !!!
What can I do?
how I can make in order to reset the sounds since they are hidden from some part?

"uploaded"? that's not the proper term from what sounds like from context "installation." Are you sure you didn't install 10.4.5 on your LaCie drive, and aren't booted off it? If you are, there may be some issues with synchronization of system events when booted off an external drive. I only boot off an external drive to test the validity of the backup done to it. I don't install systems directly onto external drives.

How can I fix the sound cutting out when I use the dashboard?

When I use the dashboard feature to look at the calendar etc. the sound on my computer cuts out. It is not on mute, it shows as high volume but when I use the volume buttons to turn it up, they make no noise and if I am trying to listen to music, no noise comes out the computer. Is anyone having a problem with mail app. crashing after using the trash can delete. I am no longer using the trash can so I have not had another mail crash. Swipe and delete and edit and delete work ok. Only the trash can delete causes the problem.

Alberta....I first tried the reset, which didn't work, so I had to do a full restore. Which helped has corrected the problem. I just can use the trash can delete.

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with iOS audio issues. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker
Can't hear anything from the built-in speaker of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch? Maybe you can hear, but the sound is distorted, muffled, intermittent. Or maybe you hear static or crackling noises. If your iOS device has any of these issues, follow these steps.
Follow these steps and test the sound after each one.
Go to Settings > Sounds and drag the Ringer And Alerts slider to turn the volume up.
If you can hear sound from the speaker, then the speaker works. Continue with these steps to find the setting or switch that's affecting the sound. If you can't hear sound from the speaker, contact Apple Support.
Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is set to ring. If you can see orange, it's set to silent.
Restart your device.
Open an app that has music or sound effects. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons or the slider in Control Center.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn off Bluetooth.
If there's still no sound, connect a headset. If you can hear sound through the headset, remove it and clear any dust or debris from the headset jack of your device.
If the device is in a case, make sure that the case doesn't block the speaker.

It's not necessary to change the Command N keystroke..
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

you can remove preferences files by navigating to the Preferences folder for your user as follows:
0) Quit ALL iWork apps (Keynote, Pages and Numbers)
1) from the Finder select the menu item "Go > Go To Folder…". This will bring up a dialog:
2) enter the path "~/Library/Preferences" (no double quotes)
3) find the files:
com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist
com.apple.iWork.Numbers.plist
com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist
and move these to the trash. I would NOT empty until later.
4) restart Numbers

Why do I get static sound when I use a headset splitter iwith my macbook air 13"?

Why do I get a static sound when I use a headset splittter with my macbook air? The headphone works perfectly but when I put the mic in the splitter, the sound gets a little bit static. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
