No sound windows 7

On my Mac Mini the sound works fine when running Snow Leopard, but there is no sound in Windows 7. I have contacted Micosoft and they say I need to contact Apple for a driver for Windows 7. I have contacted Apple and they say they can't help; they don't do support for Windows 7. Anybody able to help here?
I have Intel High Definition Audio.
Thanks.

This is a common problem. I just installed 7 through Boot Camp and had the same problem since Apple doesn't yet support booting into 7 with Boot Camp. However, just about all of it works out of the box except the audio for many.
I have an early 2009 Mini, and all I had to do was to download new audio drivers from Realtek and install them while booted into Windows 7:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
Accept the legalese, go to the high def audio codec and download the appropriate driver (for most of us, the Windows 7 32-bit driver version R238). That works for the early 2009 Mini, anyway; I don't know what gen yours is so this may or may not be appropriate for your situation.
The site is VERY slow -- though only a ~27 MB download, it will take an hour or more because of their throttling of downloads -- but once it downloaded, it installed and I had my sound back when I rebooted.

  • No sound Windows 7, 64 bit running Bootcamp, MacBook Pro 64bit Snow Leopard

Been running Windows like this successfully for over a year. Now, suddenly, no sound. Tried re-installing Cirrus Logic etc, but to no avail. Possibly linked to some recent software updates? Tried to reverse, but didn't fix problem.
Have tried the various suggestions found via Google about compatability with Vista in Cirrus.
Any suggestions would be very welcome.

  • How i fixed my Itunes sound (windows)

    Hello,
I along with many members of this forum have been having serious sound issues. I have somehow managed to fix it tonight, as well at quicktime playing the distorted green videos. I did 3 things, and i dont know which 1 did it, but i encourage everyone to try all 3.
    1) Reinstall your sound drivers (I have an Audigy 2 ZS)
2)Open quicktime settings and click advanced at the top, then click "empty cache" and check the box saying "enable playback of flash tracks"
3)Redownload DirectX9 and run it. When you open it, it will almost instantaneously say completed, but do it anyways. Reboot the computer and try
Please let me know if this helps anyone, I hope this can fix it for some of you!

I was having trouble seeing my Nano 2nd in iTunes and was afraid to do this step; but it works. My Nano was updated to version 1.1.1 and now everything seems to work perfectly. Keep in mind you will lose everything that is stored on your Nano when you format it.

  • No Sound - Windows 8.1 on IMac 27 (mid 2011)

Used a whole day now scanning the web for solutions to this problem.
Used boot camp to create a USB stick with my x64 Windows 8.1 enterprise edt. Booted on it and installed Windows 8.1.
I then ran the BootCamp5.1.5621 msi, which installed all drivers.
However: The sound is not working.
    In:
Device Manager, under "Sound, video and game controllers", I have only "AMD High Defintion Audio Device" (working).
System devices, I have "High Definition Audio Bus" (working) and "High Definition Audio Controller" (not working).
I have no cirrus logic devices (as I did under Windows 7)
When I check my sound settings I see only "AMD HDMI Output" (Not plugged in).
Please advice on how to get sound working.

    Same problem also for me,
installed Win 8.1 yesterday, with several problems caused MBR/GPT, solved with a dedicated HDD.
All drivers were successfull installed with the exception of High definition Audio.
I've tried to reinstall all drivers, also for the Graphic Adapter (in ATI site there are some drivers more updated for bootcamp), I've downloaded Realtek HD Audio from official web site, installed but the error still remains.
I don't know what to do, the only thing that i've noticed is that the driver that is not working is a Microsoft driver and not a specific driver. I suppose that in bootcamp there's not the right driver for our Audio Card.
Will do a further search tonight in OSX System information to see what hw is on board, to search it on the net.
    Please support us !

    Hi Norm,
You've probably tried this suggestion already, but there is a DRM security upgrade that reports to fix this problem on the following link.
    http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp
If you do apply this upgrade, make sure to restart the notebook afterwards.
    Best wishes,

  • No sound Windows 7 64 bit, Audigy SE

I just purchased a new Audigy SE board to use in a computer where I work. I downloaded the latest drivers and they seem to install with no problem. However, I get no sound whatsoever.
The motherboard does not have on-board audio. I tried to un-install and re-install the drivers, tried different pci slots, to no avail. I also put the card in two other computers (different operating systems and motherboard types). The card works fine in both other systems.
My current system specs are as follows.
    Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
    Super Micro motherboard model X9SCA
    Chipset is Intel C204 PCH
Device Manager reports no problems with the device. However, testing the sounds does not work, and if I try to play a Youtube video, the video freezes after about 10 seconds (don't know if this is related).
    Any suggestions are certainly appreciated.

If the card works in other PC-s it s the mobo in culprit or the PCI slot.
PCI version can be a problem too.
Install the Audigy Support Pack from Daniel K for drivers.

  • No sound Windows 7 (windows7) - High Definition Audio Device

This is to inform others how I fixed the no sound problem on my PSPADU-0EE029.  I had upgrade my Vista to Windows 7 (win7) but after the upgrade, I not longer had sound.  I first tried the toshiba tsi4win7.exe file (I not recall where on the toshiba website I found it) to update the drivers.  Most of the drivers got updated but my coexant driver failed to install.  Then I tried downloading various coexant drivers from third party sites, none worked.
The thing that did work was:
In Windows 7, I went into the Device Manager (Start button> typed "devmgmt.msc" in the search). I expanded the  Sound, video and game controllers; right clicked on the line that has a error (exclamation point) and selected Update Driver Software.  A window opened and I select "Search automatically for updated driver software".  It found one and installed it and it worked.  Now I must point out that I don't believe that this is the manufacturer's driver (I think it is a default Microsoft driver), but I now have sound and I don't really care who made the driver.  Also I must note that this is first time I have ever seen this "Update Driver Software" work, Microsoft but be doing something right.

Thank you for telling us about that. You may be interested in the following.

  • Pavilion dv9628nr no sound Windows 7

Installed Windows 7  now I do not have any sound. Do you know of drivers to download to fix the problem.

    Hi,
First try to install Vista driversfor this model:
    Conexant High-Definition Audio here
When there will be some kind of problems with installation then try to run it in Vista compatibility mode.

Make older programs run in this version of Windows
If this driver will not work and You still have old folder C:\Swsetup from Vista somewhere then audio drivers from there may also work for You.
Last chance is always Windows Update.

  • Pavilion m9680fr - No sound - Windows 7 Ultimate

    Hi ...
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate few days ago because a virus has broken my recovery partition so I just couldn't reinstall Vista.
The first day after I installed W7, my PC worked well, but since I launch Skype, I don't have any sound.
I have uninstalled Skype, installed few times the drivers but I just can't have any sound.
I have verified with the green port on the front AND the green port on the back of the computer, it just doesn't work.
(When I plug the pin on my phone, I can here song that I have so the issue comes from the computer).
PS : Sorry for my bad english but I am french....

    Hi,
Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the Realtek device listed here and select Uninstall.  When the process has completed, restart the PC and let Windows re-discover the device - Has this made any difference?

  • No HDMI sound Windows 10 Thinkpad Yoga 12

No HDMI sound in Windows 10 on Thinkpad Yoga 12. Shows not connected in the sound panel, only video transmits over HDMI but soud plays throught speakers as it does not detect the audo link.

Update: I managed to fix it by using what brillat described here. "The HDMI Audio drivers, for whatever reason, are not installed when you install the Intel video driver. You know they are missing if in your device manager under "Sound" you see "High Definition Audio Device" - you should instead see "Intel(R) Display Audio". Download the video drivers from Lenovo.  Extract but do not install.  In the extracted folder, find the DisplayAudio folder.  Find the "High Definition Audio Device" with PCI ID Vendor 8086 and Device 2807 in Device Manager.  Manually update the driver of that device, pointing it to the DisplayAudio folder."

I am playing DVDs and MP4 or AVI that has 6 channel audio. I am decoding the audio with my Denon AVR Recei'ver. The Denon Recei'ver decodes DVDs played on my BD player via, HDMI.
If I play DVDs from my Optoma DV-0 Projector, the Decoder via the same Toshlink - Optical link works and proper 5.1 channel decoding occurs.
It looks like this is a Windows 7 drivers for the Unit.
