  • [SOLVED] No sound with Asus Xonar DGX

I've got no sound so I've looked into journalctl and there were some bluez and pulseaudio related erros. So i.a.w. this topic https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=155714 I did `systemctl enable bluetooth.service`. No more errors but still no sound.
    Other things I did:
    - unplug/plug headphones
    - check whether anything is muted in alsamixer and the gnome sound applet (note: nothing is greyed-out, microphone picks up signals)
snd_oxygen i.e. ASUS XONAR is the sound card I would like to use and I hook my headphones to.

    systemctl --all --no-pager|grep -i pulse
    returns nothing.
Thank you for your input, V1del.

  • X-Fi fatality no sound with Asus A8N32 SLI del

This may be a noob question but do i need to connect a floppy power plug to my card to get it to work? Bought the card OEM with no front panel, installed the latest drivers from creative but no sound at all in Windows XP. Have tried it in 2 different PCI slots but no luck.

The X-Fi Xtreme Music Refurbished is available on the creative webstore.PN: 70SB04600003-8? $69.99?This?is what I have and I get the DTS and Dolby options in Windows XP, Take a look!http://us.creative.com/products/prod...7&product=6069

  • W520 No sound with ASUS PA248 Monitor connected via Displayport

When I connect my external monitor (ASUS PA248) to my W520, the audio disappears.  When I disconnect it, the audio returns.  This seems a bizarre link between audio and video, but there it is.  Note that the PA248 does NOT have built-in speakers.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes, that was it.  I have a bluetooth adapter connected to my Yamaha 5.1 system, and I stream music to it from my PC.  Somehow the default was changed to the bluetooth.  I have set it back to the Conexant Audio.
Even so, it is extremely odd that if I disconnected the monitor, the sound returned.

  • Window 10 build 10041 does not work with Intel 82579V Gigabit Ethernet on ASUS motherboard

I originally posted this question here:
    answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_update/window-10-build-10041-does-not-work-with-intel/6729892f-83aa-4822-b20a-ea84f4fd06c7
and was asked to post it on this forum...
I updated a computer I have which is a quad core i7 that I built and includes an ASUS motherboard with Intel 82579V Gigabit Ethernet built in. Windows 10 preview 9926 worked fine with this network adapter. Window 10 build 10041 does not, and I have tried
it twice so far. I even went as far as buying a Thunderbolt-Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (Broadcom, sold by Apple)... and while it installed the driver automatically, it did not work either. Each time you try to view the properties of either of them, it locks
up or give an error. In fact, doing much of anything with the Intel adapter icon assures you of not being able to do a clean reboot... have to kill power.  I have finally gone back the previous version 9926, which has its issues but no where near as bad
as not having any network connectivity!  Does anyone have this issue and a workaround?
Note, there are two images on the windows 10 preview forum that I posted this question on. I could not post the full link as I was getting a message here that links and graphics are not allowed.

Thanks Roger, I posted the following yesterday in the other thread (thinking it was this thread - confusing after they moved it here)... It may be that the new driver fixes the issue that 10041 has with it, but I have not tried that yet. If I do I will update
    this... Thanks!
I have more information about this, which basically exonerates any issue with the Intel 82579V Gigabit Ethernet hardware or software. I have 3 computers with Windows 10 preview so I have multiple angles to see issues from. With this I have found a culprit
(but I suspect not just the only culprit) in this above mentioned problem...
10041 build combined with installing (or attempting to install) CISCO VPN Windows 7 64bit 5.0.07.0440-k9 client causes the issue mentioned above. I confirmed this on a completely different machine with a totally different Ethernet adapter. First machine
is an ASUS motherboard in a tower system I built, with the Intel 82579V Gigabit Ethernet hardware built in. Second machine is a Gateway Laptop from 2008 which has a Marvell Yukon 88E8057 PCI-E Gigabit adapter built in. Build 10041 will work fine with my 2008
laptop, including the MS VPN client (which I have tested). However, if you attempt to install or even uninstall the Cisco client you will have to do a recovery to a restore point (as I have done twice) in order to get your network working again. Installing
or attempting to install (because it never even does install properly and times out), CISCO VPN client will render your entire network unusable. Going back to a restore point saved me and I am still running 10041 but I can't use CISCO VPN client any longer.
I could with build 9926, including on all 3 machines. I now have 9926 on two machines and 10041 on only the 2008 laptop.
Hopefully this above information helps someone resolve the issue. I will also mention, even though my network is working on the 2008 laptop, I still can't go into the Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections and right mouse click on the Marvell
Yukon 88E8057 PCI-E Gigabit adapter icon. I get an error when clicking on Properties menu popup : "An unexpected error has occurred". So something is still up with my network adapter driver or windows software, but it could be a side effect of all
that has happened with the Cisco software install attempts under 10041.
Another note: CISCO Anyconnect also has the issue.

hi, I install tvtuner averTV 509 on my asus sabertooth p67 and when I try to see TV I saw the horizontal bands (interference)? making a couple of tests, I realized that the noise is x-fi titanium. When I enable onboar audio the?interference disappeared?. then I enable x-fi and I have interference again. Then I chang the tuner audio from PCI sound to line-in(x-fi) from tuner line-out the?interference disappeared?. Then I enable? "to listen to this device"? in windows 7 audio settings and I have interference again?.
I try different tv tuners(aver tv 509 ,avertv 507, avertv MCE36 Plus compro? M5F?) and all of them have this interference .
On my old mainboard P5KC on p35 chip all work OK. I concluded that this is another bug x-fi titanium with asus P67 mainboard
    ps I have windows 7 x64?

helped install the card in slot x6, interference gone. I think it's the same problem that the loss of sound with plug and unplug headphones on P67 motherboard. because it also helps to install card in the slot x6, but in this case, my video card operates in x8? mode. Please pass this information to creative Labs let them make a workable soundblaster x-fi Titanium card of the motherboards based on intel p67 chipset in x slots.

I seem to be having the same problem playing HDMI audio.  Do you happen to remember how you got this resolved?

  • No sound with headphones on x-fi. please hel

I have X-Fi Platinum, bought 2 weeks ago from BestBuy, and I've downloaded the newest drivers from this website.
The problem is the following:I can get sound from the headphones only if I choose 4. and above as the speakers mode. If I choose Headphones in the Entertainment mode, I get no sound from the headphones.
I'm pluging the headphones to their location at the I/O Dri've. (I tried to plug them also to the pci card audio outputs but still got no sound)
Important thing to know is: If I choose Game Mode instead of Entertainment Mode and choose headphones then I do get sound.
So the only case I get no sound is in Entertainment Mode with Headphones selected but this is the most important configuration for me so I can't ignore it.
One more thing I can add is that the diagnostics tests passes ok but again, when I reach the sound test, I get sound from the headphones only if I select 4./5./7. speakers.
And one last thing - I got a built-in sound on the motherboard but I haven't installed the drivers for it from the motherboard cd because I wanted to try to prevent conflicts between the 2 soundcards.
So windows does not recognize any sound device other than the x-fi.
The only devices I have with ? or ! are in the "Other devices" tab as windows doesn't even recognize them.
Hope anyone can help me since the technical support wasn't much of an help.
    Thanks.

did you try the headphones with the drivers from the cd that came with the card before you updated to the ones on the site?

  • Kernel Bug No sound on ASUS Laptops

I had to Rollback my Kernel to 7/01/2012 in regard to the sound issue with ASUS Laptops. All Kernels after that the sound is not detected on the upgraded kernels. This is an issue for me because I need the most recent linux kernel to install my video driver Catalyst. And Catalyst conflicts with the Rollback Kernel but at the same time I will have no sound if I upgrade the Kernel. This has prevented me from using and enjoying Linux on my ASUS Laptop. I had a previous thread where I fully diagnosed the problem. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=164742 I discovered I had to Rollback my Kernel in order for the Sound to work. Please refer this bug to the Linux Gods. Thanks.

No actually 2012 not 2013 I don't know if there was a more recent kernel the most recent install I did was early July of this year and that kernel was the most recent till now. I'm not in my linux right now so I couldn't tell you which Kernel version it stopped working sometime between last summer and fall. Linux 3.4 4-2 the sound was functioning fine on my ASUS Laptop. I guess I could try to Rollback catalyst so it don't conflict with usimg an older kernel but I haven't found a solution for that. I guess my last question would be how do I file a bug? I tryed using flyspray but had some difficulty creating an account.

  • Does serial number come with specific motherboard or it's replaceable?

Hello guys, there have been a lot of sudden death issues of Z3C and I was one of the victims too, luckily just got it back after nearly 2 months wait
Anyway I was told that they had replaced a new motherboard to fix the problem, but I don't really think so because when I went to the repair centre they gave me a paper with a parts list they repaired and replaced, which included screen, lock button and so on but no "motherboard" or "mainboard" written on it, I looked again and again just to make sure. If they did change the motherboard, would there be a new serial number because when I checked it in the Android setting it is still the same as the first time I bought it, is this true or they can insert the same serial number into the new motherboard? I know this may sound crazy or dumb, I will be happy if they didn't because there's still a chance for me to retrieve all the previous datas which meant so much to me. Thanks for the help guys!

Thanks for your reply Thommo, I had already contacted Xperia care there was nothing they could do to retrieve the data, but I have just found Wondershare Dr.Fone and some other data recovery softwares that can help to retrieve the lost data for non-rooted phones. However I don't know why only Z3C needs to be rooted in order to perform data retrieval but as stated in other websites rooting Z3C will void the DRM that result in bad quality low-light photos... So if possible I will unroot it but it seems like there hasn't been a way released yet to unroot Z3C so far, right? So I'm like stuck in between
So before I root I just want to confirm if the IMEI / serial number comes with specific motherboard, if yes then there's still hope left to get back everything I want because that means they didn't replace the motherboard at all!

  • No Sound with MS 6111 on WIn98SE

Using a ISA Creative AWE 64 on this board MS 6111.  Loaded Win98SE and got no sound.  The VGA is a S3 Trio V64 PCI.
Have try to configure it with different IRQ.  Current (default) IRQ is 5 for the sound card.
Any problem with board on this sound card?
    Thanks in advance.

Tried all the ISA slots for the sound card.  I even did a re-installation of the OS.  Device Manager shows no error.  Motherboard and OS auto detect the soundcard, it just no sound.
I changed the card into a Yamaha ISA soundcard and it works.  Dunno why.  I guess the board doesn't work with this motherboard.
    Thanks for the advice.

I am trying to connect my Macbook pro 2010 to my Samsung HDTV using a mini display port to hdtv cable. Trying to play a slide show in IPhoto but I only get sound with no picture. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I keep saying this over and over, in the hope that people who do a search will find it.  Apple cannot possibly test for or be reponsible for the bazillion combinations of adapter, cables, and TV's out there.  The only monitors that are 100% guaranteed to work with the MacBook Pro are the Cinema Displays and Thunderbolt Displays, because, they're made by Apple.  They're expensive, but they work perfectly.
My guess is that you bought a cheap MDP to HDMI cable, or have a defective one.  From my reading of these boards over the past few months, cheap cables have a high failure rate.  And the regular priced ones have only a slightly less of one.  Try a new one.  Make sure you do not damage the Thunderbolt port.

  • My iPad does not have sound when on the Internet, including YouTube, but does have sound with iTunes and other apps.  How can I correct this?

My iPad does not have sound when on the Internet, including YouTube, but does have sound with iTunes and other apps.  How can I correct this?

If you are sure that you have sound in other apps - and if you can still hear keyboard clicks and get notifications, then system sounds are not muted. Try this and see if it works.
Close all apps completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • [SOLVED]No Sound with ALSA - Intel Corporation 82801G HD Audio

    Hey all,
I've succesfully installed Arch Linux. My past two attempts have met with failure, all because of my own failure to read and follow directions correctly. This time everything is installed correctly. I am running Kdemod3 on my laptop with Arch and everything works great. I LOVE Pacman and the simplicity of Arch's configuration files. It's super fast and all together simple. My only remaining problem is this:
My sound with ALSA is not functioning. I followed the installation instructions at the arch wiki and after unmuting all of my channels I still would not get any sound. My sound module is snd_hda_intel and it is detected, loaded and the whole nine yards (as far as I can tell). My user is a member of the 'audio' user group also. I looked at the troubleshooting tips on the bottom of the Wiki but decided not to try them as they do not seem to pertain to my card (snd_hda_intel) but I will try them if anyone would like me to.
If anyone has any ideas, they'd be greatly appreciated!:D Anything I can provide that you need I will be more than willing to provide.
Thanks for such a great distribution,
    Dan
