No sound with Live! 24bit and Boston Digital BA735 speak

I can get no sound with Soundblaster Li've! 24bit PCI card and Boston Digital BA735 speakers. Other speakers work. The Boston are 2. speakers (with subwoofer) from an old Gateway I have. Tried digital output only and without digital output only checked but no luck.

hey bro. today i had the same problem you have, with the same speakers and all. and thanks to your post, it somehow inspired me to figure it out. so this is what you do:
) make sure your sound card is set to digital output. if you dont know how to do this, follow the windows help program.
2) go to gateway support website at http://support.gateway.com/support/d...0406&type=0096 and download the Digital Soundblaster Li've basic driver (752042.exe) near the bottom.
3) double click the icon once it downloads and it will do its thing

same problem for me. I am using abe edition 3 as I don't think 4 can be used with kobo. Book has been downloaded to kobo but it can't be read as it is not authorised.Help please

No sound with Flash 15 and Windows 8

No sound with Flashplayer 15 and Windows 8. I have followed the steps to enable the program and to disable Active X filtering and still no sound. Sound works on all other applications.
The Adobe website instructions refer to a way to troubleshoot sound that cannot be followed -- see the inserted text below -- it refers to an application below and there is no application shown on the page.

Try plugging your earphones in and remove them again. Do that a few times ... Plugin and uplug ... and see if the sound comes back for the speakers.

Differences between live 24bit and audigy se?

anyone knows whats the exact differences between the creative soundblaster live 24bit (found in the k8n diamond and p4n diamond) and creative soundblaster audigy se (found in k8n diamond plus)? the chipsets seems to be identical among each other. the specs are also identical.
pls advise.

Looks like you don't have the right software drivers installed. Instead of the nVIDIA Audio drivers, you should be installing the Creative Labs drivers from the enclosed driver CD-ROM, the separate one from the MSI disk. Next go to Creatives site and run all the updates from their Auto-update service.
You should be able to select the tab shown above as I also see it. Each selection also works for me so I can say that the Dolby decoding does work.

i appreciate the answer <SPAN class=title_big>Leekay07 , but even so, i?m making some music with FL STUDIO ; and plug-ins like AMPLITUBE; DSOUND and also recording guitar in real time with some effects.
In favour of quality sound and protection to the speakers it is not necessary a fast connection than usb .
does not usb . connection lose speed to transfer data for the purpose i describe, comparing to PCI card?
My pc has AMD athlon processor at 2.8Ghz and 768Mb of RAM and logitech X-530 5. speakers.

Genius SW-HF5.1... on Live 24bit and Audigy

Hi all,
I've tested this set of speakers on those two sound cards ans when I try listening to music or a DVD I still have no sound from both sub and middle speakers. I'd like to have some help please. I tried the same set on my onboard sound card and it works well (an Asus A8N-E Deluxe). I'd prefer my Audigy but it does not work even in BF1942. Tried to update drivers with no result.

I found it priced about the same as Audigy 2 Value
(Audigy LS + Hitman 2 = ~66? vs Audigy 2 Value ~40?)

Why can't I import sound with video into iMovie from digital camera?

This is disturbing. I have a digital video camera that took great video + sound. I import into iMovie (using my DV cable that came with the camera) and get video but no sound.
Now, in the past the sound came in, but no longer. Any and all advise is requested. I have to make number videos of lectures starting Wednesday evening and have to be able to provide video with audio.

I have no problem importing sound with video when using the internal video camera mic. No problem (other than sound quality issues with the speaker being 40 feet away from the camera's internal mic!
But I can play back the video made with the external mic in the camera and the sound is stunningly clear, crisp and loud. It's just a matter of getting it out of the camera into my Mac. I don't think it's the microphone; it must be the computer.
I just find it sad to believe that Apple's software is so limited--even in Final Cut Express HD.

WinXP, Sound Blaster Live! Platinum, no digital sou

So, I made the leap to WinXp from Win98se, just too many issues with new hardware, but now I'm running into a new snaffoo.
My Sound Blaster Li've! Platinum/Creative DxR 3 Decoder (w/6x DVD-rom) can't seem to get the digital sound going. I've got the MegaWorks 5. 550 speakers and DDTS-00 decoder.
Now in win98 this all worked (and I realize the DxR3 Decoder drivers were only beta and appear to have been abandoned by Creative) but there's no reason I shouldn't be able to plug the coax cable with the adapter my sound blaster li've using the S/PDIF connector in my Sound Blaster Li've!
I suspect the trouble is I'm using the winXP drivers that came with the installation and have NOT been able to install ANY of the Sound Blaster Li've! software, such as the PlayCenter, Launcher, AudioHQ, etc.
When I try to run the installer, it just hangs and does nothing. Suggestions? Ideas?
I'll probably have to get one of the new audigy cards, but I'm not current in the position to spend money on a new sounds, yet.

Sometimes it's better to just leave this alone.
So I extracted Li'veDrvUni-Pack using winzip and installed the new driver set in there.
Restarted and Blah. The new driver set not only misidentified my soundcard as Soundblaster Li've! Value, but now I have no sound what so ever.
I should have just left it alone and waited till I could afford a new card.
I followed the instructions for a CleanSweep and it didn't work. WinXP identified the soundcard and reinstalled the drivers (I'm guessing the default windows drivers) and still now sound.
Volume control does not load. When I go to it in Accessories I get, a message saying there are no acti've mixer devices available and to go to Add Hardware. I do that and it finds nothing.

But it turns out that it is alot more complicated than?i thought. First of all, it took me ato install everythnig without something going wrong, but all the driver (for vista) seem to be ok now. Once installed, i connected a 3.5mm jack into the line in, on the soundblaster, and conncected the other end to my mixer. That all done, i went onto the recording programme that you get with the sb, but here is where it goes wrong the message 'there is no audio device on the system, the application will now close' comes up. Of course this stops me getting onto any of the programmes, and stops me from recording. After this i checked on control panel/device manager, and it said that everything was working correctly, but on another page it says 'cannot find hardware connected' although the blue power light is on. I have now run out of ideas of what to do, so any help would be great.

No sound with Live! Val

Hi, I recently installed a new motherboard and graphics card and consequently I had to reinstall drivers for my other devices(i.e. sound card). I used the CD that came with the card and it installed fine but no sound came out of them(note: I had this problem the first time I tried to install it) The speaker ARE plugged in correctly I might add. So I Decided to uninstall the drivers and do a clean driver installation. The only problem is everytime I try to uninstall the Soundblaster drivers and software, the uninstall stops at 75% and freezes. I cant uninstall the drivers. So I just try to reinstall them anyway and it stops at 95% with "Updating Windows drivers. This may take a few minutes." Except I leave it on for an hour and nothing changes.
Now the weird part. In device manager, I have the sound card enables, no alerts or problems with that. But in "Sounds and Audio Devices" The sound card isnt even an option to select as default playback device, et al. So it's as if Windows doesnt even recognize it.
I do however have a set of USB headphones that work fine. But when I try to use the sound card it doesnt work at all and I cant remember what I did to remedy the problem when I first got the card. Any advice?

? Hi, did you ever get a solution to this prob? I'm having similar issues trying to load software for my CT4870 card. I hoped to be able to get this to work after giving up on the Audio Devices internal sound card on my ECS GS760 Ultra MOBO. Installing Sound Blaster Li'veWare 3.0 it almost completes but then everything locks when it gets to the "Updating Windows Drivers" box. When looking at the Soundblaster Li've card in the Device Manager it also locks if trying to select a different driver for it. I'm sure it's something simple.
** Update ** Success at last! Not quite sure what exactly the problem was but I did realise I still had a MusicMatch Jukebox loaded so uninstalled that. Then physically removed the sound card and plugged it in again. This time drivers were automatically loaded on startup - with no hang u
ps.
In Device Manager there's still a yellow exclamation mark on Creative Multimedia Interface, but at least the sound card seems to work now.

Your Boston digital speakers were sold as a part of a computer package featuring a digital soundcard with a digital output. If you wish to use these speakers with a different computer make sure it has a digital soundcard with digital output and the digital output is engaged in the soundcard menu, if your soundcard is outputting an analog signal the speakers will not work. You can test this by plugging in headphones into your sounds card. If you hear music, it is outputting analog. For the most detailed information concerning the features and setup of your soundcard, please contact the manufacturer.The Boston digital speakers do not directly require drivers to work but rather rely on the soundcard for processing. This is where the problem lies. If the speaker system was functioning properly before the system upgrade and both green lights are illuminated, there is likely nothing wrong with your speakers. You need to make sure that the soundcard is configured for digital output. If the soundcard is configured for digital or if your computer manufacturer has informed you that you need to upgrade drivers in the system, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your soundcard for these drivers. These are digital speakers that were designed to work with the original Gateway that they came with.
