No sound with MEGA TV Tuner card

I have a Mega TV Tuner card. I installed it succesfully in my pc and it worked ok appart from there being no sound. I conected the internal cable to the auxillary imput on my motherboard (built in sound) but all i got was a bad sound . When I opened up the sound card controls I could see the auxillary volume control move when I varied the volume within MSI PVS and this varied the volume of the bad sound. Picture quality is perfect. Thinking it may be something to do with the built in sound I tried a sound card and conected the internal line out cable to it, but the problem remained. I have just tried out exactly the same on another pc and the problem is just the same. Do you thing this is a problem with the card as all signs indicate this? Or am I missing something very basic.
Richard

Neither of the pcs were MEGA They were both ASUS ones, but as I said the problem was identical in each. One of them had a full installation of WinXP Pro and all of my programs, but the other had just had Win xp home installed on it today and nothing else, so it could not be any conflict with other programs that was causing the problem. Is it possible to download new drivers for the card? or should I scrap it?

My daughter added songs with her I tunes card and my credit card was charged, how do I get it off my credit card?

What process did your daughter use, there is a specific format to redeem an iTunes gift card. The gift card must be redeemed using the Redeem link in the Quick Links on the right side of the iTunes Store in iTunes on a computer or the Redeem button at the bottom of both the iTunes and App Store apps in iOS. Redeeming the gift card then applies the value of the card as an available credit to the user's iTunes account. The credit is used first before any bank card also stored in the account. If the purchases use the entire credit and there is an additional balance due, it will be charged to any bank card stored in the account.

  • More pgms working with MSI TV-tuner card(s)

There is a couple more programs I found that work fairly nice with the older MSI TV-tuner card and the newer Master TV-tuner card.  They are:  Intervideo WINDVD Creator and Intervideo Home Theater.  Both have free 30 trial dowloads at http://www.intervideo.com.  If I use these two softwares and Ulead Video Studio 7, I can pretty much accomplish every thing I could ever ask for with my MSI TV-tuner card.   I just wish all the features were consolidated into one software.

Sure, here is my hardware specs:
    CPU #1
    Asus a7n8x  2.5GHZ with 512MG 400HZ mem
    MSI TV-tuner (master)
    Windows XP
    CPU #2
    Asus a7v 1.4GHZ with 650MG mem
    MSI TV-tuner (older)
    Windows XP
Note: I don't use the tuner and scheduler since I use S-video inputs from my Timewarner Pioneer HTDV setbox.  I did, for fun hook up a coax to my MSI TV-tuner card and scanned for ports using these newer softwares from Intervideo, but they did not correctly scan the digital and HDTV channels and only scanned the old analog channels.  I tried for fun to schedule some analog channels for record, but it did not work properly for me.  This is not a big deal to me since, the tuner and scheduler is not something that interest me, like most folks.  And since, I don't use the tuner and scheduler features, I immediately de-installed MSIPVS from both systems since the Intervideo products, especially the WINDVD creator does a much finer job then the old MSIPVS software that MSI keeps bundling with their TV-tuner card.  Also, I thought it was cool that the Intervideo WINDVD product allows a person to create huge jpg/gif/bmp slide shows on a DVD without the limitations (total 1900 or something close to this) on VCD's.  But, you have to create them using the mpeg2 format, by cliicking on the icon toward bottom and then using the author to create the vobs, etc from the mpeg2's.  Anyways, all other softwares, I have tried for this crapped out big time.  Sorry, I can't help the tuner/remote probs, but I think conio and some others have a better handle on it then me.

  • Best Graphics and Tuner Card for 865 Pro with XP MCE (Maybe Vista?)

    Hi all,
I'm looking at rebuilding my 865 Pro
I haven't upgraded the graphics so what do people recommend as the best AGP card for the 865 Pro
I have the MSI tuner but I am looking a ditching instant on for MCE would like to get a idea for digital tuning card (I'm in the UK). Would anybody recommend using a combined AGP/Tuner card like the ATI All in Wonder cards or using a USB Tuner?
I am thinking I will have to stick with XP because of driver support. I have dual boot to Vista at the moment but the wifi doesn't work.
    Idea and Suggestions welcome
    Danny

    Thanks for the reply Stu.
I tried installing the XP wi-fi driver in Vista and I couldn't get it to work. I didn't try harder as the Mega 865 Pro is not supposed to be Vista compatible.
Is there a 3rd party driver I should try?
The reason I would like to upgrade the graphics is to have the option to play some games and I am beginning to find limitation with the on board graphics. I tried to check out second life on the mega the other week and it wouldn't set up because the graphics wasn't up to it.
I have tried installing a dedicated APG card before - the Gigabyte nVidia Geforce 6600 with heatpipe passive cooling.
It is a great card but I found every now and then the PC would crash with it running. It is a very tight fit with the TV tuner card and the airflow wasn't good.
So I am looking at using a small APG card or replacing the tuner. That’s why a combined card seemed to make sense and would free up the PCI slot.
As power is a problem for some graphics cards is upgrading the PSU an option?
    Thanks
    Danny

  • KT4V (with lan) and TV Tuner Cards

I have a MSI motherboard model MS6712. This device isn’t compatible with any PCI TV Tuner Card. When I am using a tv-tuner card, after some minutes the computer crashes and the only way is turning off the computer by switching off the power. This problem happened with four tv cards which I have used. My motherboard has been replaced two times with others MS6712 motherboards. But the problem, which doesn’t happen on a MSI MS6385, is still persistent. Drivers and Bios are up to date.
My motherboard has known incompatibilty with any tv tuner card? I think that this problem affects any MS6712 motherboard.
Anyway the problem is surely caused by the hardware or by a defective BIOS.

  • Problems w/ TV Tuner Card and Media Center

    Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem:
I just installed the FX5200 TDR-128, with the TV@nywhere card, and the Media Center Deluxe II. I can't get the tv stations to work in MCD II. It works great with MSI PVS software that came with the TV Tuner card. When I go into the "Watch TV" menu of MCD II, it brings up the tv screen but it is all garbled or sometimes a blue screen. I changed all the settings to the appropriate formats and it even has the channels that were scanned in the MSIPVS program. Does anyone know what is causing the channels to not work in the Media Center Deluxe II? Also there is a switch on the VIVO connector that has two settings "Safe" and "Work" what does this switch do? I can't find anything on it in the manual that came with the video card.
    P.S. The remote works great.
    Motherboard:KT4V-L
    CPU: AthlonXP 2400+
    RAM: 512Meg DDR400
    Video: FX5200 TDR-128
    OS: WinXP

Check out the new release 3 upgrade here
It has solved almost all the problems described here.  Just came out today too.

Hi I've just topped my I tunes account up with a I tunes card and it won't let me use my money on there

What I mean is what is happening when you try to buy the movie? Does the cost of the movie exceed to amount of the gift card? Many areas/states/countries add a sales tax or a VAT to the purchase that will exceed the card amount.
    what exactly is happening? Describe?

  • TV Tuner Card for MEGA PC

    Hi All!
Recently I've added a TV tuner Card (MS-8606) to my MEGA PC 651. This card is not TV@nywhere, but very similar one. It is the "optional TV tuner card" MSI talks about in the description of MEGA PCs. The card does not have FM tuner, as MEGA PC already have one on the motherboard.
I've installed the card and the standard MSI software (drivers, MSIPVS, Cinema , WinSchedule and other stuff) from the supplied CD with minimum difficulties. (The drivers on CD are version 2.79.1.64) The good things is that the software finds channels, there is picture, even the remote works
However, there is an annoying problem -- sound disappears each 2-15 seconds. That is sound works for, say, 20 seconds, then stops for 2 seconds, then works again for 5 seconds, then stops and so on. Did anybody encounter such a problem?

    Probably not anymore
It was just a TV@nywhere Master, but without the FM radio tuner.

  • Mega TV Tuner for Mega PC 180 giving a clicking sound

Can anyone help me, I bought the Mega TV tuner for the Mega PC 180 and all I get is picture, but no sound except a clicking sound? I have tried downloading the latest drivers, which make no difference.
    I am Totally annoyed
    PC : Mega PC 180
    OS: XP Pro SP1
    Processer: AMD XP 2800+
    Ram: 512 DDR333
    HDD: 120Gb
    DVDwriter: Pioneer A07

    Few things to check.
If the sound software is the same as the 865 , make sure you haven't configured your sound card to 4 way sound (if you have then the line in will become your second set of speakers) If you need 4 speckers then plug the cable from your TV card into your mic. Again I am unsure of the TV card so if it has an internal sound cable connection then this would be the best to use and plug it in to the TV sound socket on board.
Next you need to make sure what source you have pluged it into is not muted. Normally when the software mutes the card it mute the line that the card is meant to come in on. So start up the software then check this input.
Last how have you set up the software as this need to know the import. Normally it is line in but this is not always the case.

  • Which TV-tuner card for MEGA 180

    Hello,
Just wondering which is the best tv-tuner card for the MEGA 180 which still enables the use of the original remote control.
I know the MS-8606-040 provides this but seems rather basic, the other model (MS-8606-010, TV@anywhere card) comes with its own remote control but can you use the one provided with the 180?
Any other makes which do the job?
    Thanks

On-board nForce graphics and audio drivers

The reason for this is the Microsoft requirement that any recording does not use more than 50% of the CPU processing time, hence I think you will find that all have a hardware MPEG2 encoder built in (that's why they are mostly the PVR versions).
I believe that the following are the officially supported MCE 2005 cards:
    Adaptec    AVC-3610
    ATI   ATI HDTV Wonder PCI

    AVerMedia    A169

  • I have used I tunes to download music with a paid I tunes card. I can no longer open the music store to download my music.  When I do open the music store it fades in and out, preventing me from downloading music.

I can nolonge download music from I tunes, because the music store page fades in and out and will not remain permanent to allow me to download music with a pre-paid I tunes card.
Also, why is it you can only download music to an I-pod from one primary computer.  Is there a method that will allow me to download music from a variety of computers.

it only happens for previous purchases - if you have a computer you can try to download your purchase history there and then just sync them to your device - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1386.

  • External Usb Audio Card Popping and Cracking sound with Satellite L500

    Greetings,
My name is Boyan and I am from Bulgaria and about an year ago I've bought a satellite laptop from the l500 series ( i can not state which exactly is the model at the moment because my computer is not currently with me and on my user manual the only thing which is stated is that it is for L500/L505/ L500D / L505D . But by memory I think it was the Satellite L500D-ST5506 which is currently not at my dispossal because I gave it for repair for the same problem which I will state down below)
The problem with my laptop is that when I plug a Usb Audio card in my laptop I have a cracking sound when live sound is played trough the speakers/headphones from the external card. I've tried numerous audio cards and speakers/headpohnes which work perfectly fine with other computer, including laptops but the same problem keeps on showing up in the headphones/speakers of my laptop when I am using an external audio card to connect them to the laptop.
The problem is prominent only when the sound signal passes trough an external audio card and it is very annyoing since I use my laptop to create music and i've bought an expenssive audio card and speakers which can not be used with the laptop. I've tried 3 models of audio cards:
    M-Audio Fast Track Pro
    Behringer uca 222
and a simple external 3d sound usb audio card and the problem still appears.
At first I thought that the problem should be software and I should install new drivers although windows 7 automaticaly recognizes and intalls the drivers for the devices and I have sound in them (but with cracks and popps) so i tried using the official drivers sold to me with the audio cards but with no luck: The problem was still there. I tried finding new drivers of the audio cards on the official distributors websited and i've downloaded them but the problem was still there. Then i tried to delete every audio driver on my computer and just use the external audio card for sound but this dint help eighter. I've updated my drivers for my build-in audio card as well but again - no luck.
After that.the frist thing I did when (2 weeks after i bought the laptop) was to contact the store from which i bought my audio card and they stated that the problem may be eighter latency or high voltage from the laptop so they adviced me to try to lower the latency from the settings or to try and see if the problem remains if my laptop is only running on battery. I've tried both things and they didn't help. The audio cards worked without a problem on every other computer I've tried them on except mine. So they said to me that the problem couldnt possibly be from the audio cards .
What I did next was I gave my laptop to the official distributor of toshiba in my country so they can fix my problem. What they said to me was that the problem is caused from the version of windows which was pre-installed on my laptop and that it wasnt compitable with the audio cards (which was bizzar sounding because I've tried them on the same windows and they've worked, just on other computers). So I got back my laptop and changed my operating sistem from Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 32bit and on all of those versions the problem was there: whenever I activate a Usb Audio Card and audio signal passes trough it I heard cracks and popps. I even tried isntalling Windows XP but the laptop wants spesific SATA drivers for the installation of Windows XP which although i did find - they didnt help me install XP and I didn't want to go in to the BIOS of the computer to try to put a new one and so on because I am not so sure about that and I could lose my warranty so I said to the official repair store for Toshiba in my town to put XP on my computer to fix the problem but they can't because they are not liscened to operate with software which doesn't have a recipt for its purchase ( which i didnt because i bought my windows xp long ago and i've lost the recipt)
I gave it for repair for the second time telling them that the change of my operating system did not solve my problem and what they did was they changed the whole motherboard on my computer, stating that the build in realtek audio device on my computer is not good enough to support an usb audio card or it maybe broken and they have to change the whole motherboard because the build in card is glued to it, so they did that but my problem wasn't solved. They told me that although I am using and external usb audio card the signal still passes trough my internal one and I have to disable it so i tried disabling it trough the control panel but this did not solve the problem and i do not have an option from BIOS to disable my build-in audio card. Another thing which I thought maybe causing the problem is that the two audio cards aren't working on the same bit rate and Hertz so I set both cards to 16 bit 48000hz DVD Quality (Also tried other options on the 3 cards i have) but...the same thing happend.
They told me that this is just my luck and that the build in audio card doesn't support this external audio cards and I should had been more careful when choosing my laptop at first.
I couldn't accept this awnser for several reasons:
    1) This audio cards work on lower version of windows and are supported by much older models of Realtek and much older computers (one of them was bought 2000!!!!! and my laptop is from 2010!!)
    2) The guys who were fixing the problem apperantley didn't go in so deep in to my problem because they didn't know what actually the problem was they just knew that there is a problem with the audio card and the computer interacting with eachother, they didnt know that there is cracking during live play from the external audio card.
    3) I can not accept the fact that Toshiba is manufacturing models with chipset audio cards which can not support a simple external Usb Audio Card. This is totally unacceptable for me and I truly hope this is not the case!
4)They didn't try my audiocards on an other laptop from the same series stating that they do not have one at their dispossal at the moment so I will go tomorrow to a local store and try the audio cards by my self on the same computer in the store.
What I did now was I gave back my laptop for repair asking for a statement of the problem in wrtting with all details of the problem so I can go to court or ask for a new laptop but I will be charged with some money because according to them there is no problem in the laptop and the problem is that my external audio cards arent compitable with the build in internal chipset audio card. If I give my laptop for repair and there is no hardware problem I will have to pay some money. I will do this but I am now mad, since this will not solve my problem and I am loosing time and money.
What I am asking here is, if you can not help me solve my problem and advice me what to do to fix it, please provide me the details of the chipset build in audiocard on my motherboard, so i can investigate if it is compitable with my external audio cards and contact the audio card dealers to ask them for their opinion. Or if you can tell me with what it is compitable with and with what not, it would be great. I personally think that this laptop should have no problems at all with running a simple external usb audio card but I am asking you, if you know something more about that.
If the problem is from the build in chipset then Toshiba is manufacturing (or at least selling) audiocards which aren't at a normal standart but sadly I cant do nothing about it except complain to Toshiba and never deal whith such productgs anymore. In the other case if this is not true, then my laptop has a problem which is different and I will have to go to court with the repair mans for not fixing my laptop or not giving a new one when I have warranty which will not be Toshiba's fault and It will in a way solve my problem.
I hope you understand how Important this is for me and I hope I resolve the problem as soon as possible.
    P.S
I would like to state that I am well aware of the grammar mistakes I have made in the text below and I would like to ask for your apologies as I am not a native English language speaker.

hi i just like to say i had a similar fault though i would be surprised if it causing yours, but you never know,my fault was my laptop lid, [9 months old] it contains the mic ,and when the lid was in a certain angle crackles could be heard worse when i had my external sound card in, it was a faulty membrane [ lid to body] easily missed by engineer because it was the same angle all the time it happened, good luck, PS you English is very good
