No Sound With X-FI Fatal1ty Platinum -- Windows Vista

Alright, here's the environment:
Vista x64
Logitect Z-5500 5. Speakers Connected with 6. Direct
X-FI Fatalty Platinum Champon
Gigabyte GA-P36-DS3L
Mushkin 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800
Intel Q6600
Geforce 8800GTX
The sound card worked fine in XP x86, and then I moved it into this rig, and I had no sound. I completely uninstalled the drivers for my X-FI, disabled my onboard audio, disabled vista's automatic driver installation, restarted, installed the October st drivers manually, restarted, and still no sound. I noticed before I might get the tiniest of pops and crackles whenever vista tried to play a sound, but nothing as extreme as what others are experiencing. I tried daniel's modified Auzentech drivers (thank you!!,) but still no luck : /. I wouldn't want to end up with a $75 paper weight.
Can anyone help me? Any help is MUCH appreciated .
Thanks,
Tucker
Edit: I disabled my Azalia Audio codec from my BIOS, but still no luck.
Edit: I reseated my card, and the red light comes on (as it had before.) I am getting a small pop every now and then (like, for some odd reason, in the creative diagnostics when I click Reset Defaults.)Message Edited by l4nc3r on 0-03-200708:04 PM

Moving to another slot will assign other resources to the card, like a different IRQ, so it can definitely help sometimes if you're having an issue.
When you check in the Device Manager, is the card recognised correctly? Are there any error codes? What do you see when you look at the Audio Devices (through Control Panel) on that system, does it display any others there? You did disable the onboard audio so that should be fine, but for instance if you have a webcam installed it could also have an audio device.

  • Fieldpoint Hardware Drivers that are compatible with LV 8.5 and Windows Vista

I trying to develop in LabVIEW for some Fieldpoint hardware. I was going to download the hardware drivers from NI, but only see drivers that are compatible with Windows XP and LV 8.2
Or, am I just misinterpreting this?
Also, are there any potential conflicts with me developing on Vista, if my end-user, is uding another OS?

One should welcome adversity as an opportunity to excel.

    Hi Daddy-O,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.  This is a little misleading, and unfortunately the driver you are looking for is currently not directly searchable.  In order to use your FieldPoint hardware with LabVIEW 8.5 and Windows Vista, you will need the FieldPoint 6.0 driver.  This can be found within the disk that is distributed with new FieldPoint hardware, and any Device Drivers CD from August 2007 forward.  Unfortunately, a standalone installer is not available for this driver, and if you do not have a hard copy of the Device Drivers, you can download this here.  From this installer, you should be able to select FieldPoint 6.0 and install this software.
I hope this helps!  Let me know if there is anything else I can clarify.  Have a great day!

  • Problem with Speaker and Headset in Windows Vista

Hi, I just got my Macbook Pro 13" and having problem with speaker and headset when working with Windows Vista (I have installed the driver from bootcamp). The sound very weak if I play music from Itunes or youtube even the volume already full and if i put my headset the sound not coming out. Is there anyone can help me to solve this problem?
    Regards,Edwin

When you post about Windows / Boot Camp, in Mac Pro (workstation) forum where others with a MacBOOK would be more likely to have same hardware configuration, and you won't find Windows drivers on Apple downloads. More like at
http://www.guru3d.com or other sites, or go to RealTek (if that is the type of audio you have).

  • Syncing problem with AppleTV and HP w/ Windows Vista

    Vital Stats:
    HP Media Center PC
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    iTunes 7.6.2.9
AppleTV 40GB Software Version 2.0.2 Wireless DHCP
I have been trying to sync my Apple TV with iTunes and keep getting the error:
The Apple TV "Downstairs Apple TV" is not responding.
Check that any firewall software running on this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689.
I have done the obvious. I have checked the firewall software on my computer and have manually set the port as open and apparently when iTunes installs it also puts port information into the Windows Firewall. I have performed a factory reset on the Apple TV, reinstalled iTunes, checked my router and still it's a 'no go'.
    Any suggestions?

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
Check your router for port forward/NAT rules that may involve ports 5353 and 3689, check that you haven't got the tv isolated at the router also.
Security software and file sharing applications may also be interfering with these ports take a look at any software on your PC that might be doing this.

  • Problems with iTunes Cover Flow and Windows Vista

I just recently upgraded my computer to Windows Vista Home Premium (32-Bit). I preformed a clean install and every program I have tried so far (Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Age of Empires 3, Halo: Combat Evolved, Microsoft Office XP, etc.) have worked fine, however, iTunes is having some problems (7.4.1.2). First, cover flow does not work right. It can get it to run, but it is super slow. It ran very smoothly on Windows XP, now on Vista it skips every over album cover and is very choppy. It seems like it is running at 3 FPS. Also, none of my videos will play in Quictime or iTunes. The strange thing is I can play the same videos in VLC and GOM and they work great. I just went to nVidia's web site and installed the latest drivers and my games runs fine so I don't think it is a driver issue but I am not sure.
    Any advice I would appreciate,
    Thanks

Well - you're not alone. I've got a very high-end video card (nVidia 8600 GTS OC), and am running Windows Vista Ultimate. Every aspect of 3D acceleration works great with my machine (World of Warcraft, Battlefield 2142, Half Life 2, Counterstrike: Source, etc.), except iTunes/Quicktime. I pretty much have the same issues: videos (all - .mov, .mp4) play absolutely horribly in both applications, and cover flow is slow/choppy at best. I think it's an iTunes/Vista issue that Apple has yet to touch, so I'm just waiting for January (I'll buy my first mac, a macbook pro, then), because for the first time in my life, I'll have an installation of iTunes that functions properly. I love iTunes. Just not on Windows machines. It leaves something to be desired.

  • Problems with IS-H*Med and "Windows Vista"

    Hi all:
I'm having problems with automatic installation of IS-H*Med using a computer with Windows Vista. It doesn't start. I must to install it manually, and when the user request the OCX, it hangs up.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance and regards,
    Alejandro Gómez.
    P.D.:  Excuse my bad English.

    Hola Alejandro,
could you please elaborate on your problem a little bit in detail?
I suppose, you don't mean the SAP system itself, since as far as I know, it (the application server side) is not supporting Windows Vista at all.
According to this <a href="https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/66971">SAP note 66971</a> only SAPGUI 7.10 supports Windows Vista. Do you use this version of SAPGUI?
What does not start? SAPGUI? The planning grid?(Which is the only i.s.h.med specific OCX as far as I know).
Did you open a customer support message for this?
    kind regards,
    anton wenzelhuemer

  • Pops and Clicks and Delays with X-Fi Fatal1ty Platinum in Windows 7 32bit

Hi, I own an x-fi fatalty platinum sound card and I have installed the beta driver for Windows 7 32bit.
When doing things in the OS, i get occasional pops and clicks. I know exactly what it comes from, it happens when there are multiple sounds being played simultaneously. If I join a ventrilo server, the little intro sound it makes pops and clicks. If I hold down my talk key, sometimes it will pop and then play the little talk sound, sometimes it won't play the sound at all... and the same is true when I let go of my talk key.
Virtually everything I do in the OS has this weird pop and click sound associated with it. Playing music, however, doesn't have that problem because an MP3 is a continous stream of audio and counts as a single sound. It's when there are multiple sounds overlapping does it pop/click or fail to produce the sound at all or in its entirety. It's like the x-fi is delayed and isn't able to play the sound fast enough which therefore produces a pop and clicking sound at the beginning of sounds. This is why I purchased an x-fi sound card becaus it eliminated this problem from my onboard sound. Now it's BACK in Windows 7.
Also, when I play UT2004, by default there's an option called "Use System Driver" checked in the sound options. This makes everything in the game have a slight 0.25 second delay, but it's enough to make it noticeable and annoy me. If I disable "Use System Driver", it fixes the delay but the pops and clicks come back!? I can't win one way or the other.
Windows XP does not have this problem. I have tried both the stable x-fi driver and the beta driver. I have tried updating my OpenAL software. I'm not sure what to do beyond reinstall Windows 7 and try again... which I really do not look forward to doing.
If anyone could assist me, or take note of this issue so it could be fixed in later drivers, it would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    -Neil

    Hello?

  • Jerky video and sound with my k8n neo platinum

    Hi:
I wonder if any of you have had a similar problem.
My system: K8N Neo Platinum Nvidia nForce 3 250 Gb, AMD 64fx 3200+, 1 gig memory Kingston PC 3200, Gigabyte Nvidia GForce Fx 5200  128 AGP video card, HD Seagate ST2120026A 120 gig, WD 40 gig, Toshiba DVD, Lite on DVD-RW. OS XP Pro SP2. Display Samsumg 17 Syncmaster 710V.
The system worked like a champ for about a month, the all of a sudden it started playing videos and audio in a jerke mode, it would play a few frames and then pause for a fraction of a second and then start again.
    Please can anyone help?
    Thanx in avance

Try uninstalling the graphics card drivers and then installing the latest ones.
Also try defragging hard drive and cleaning unecessary programs from the computer and run windows update.

  • No sound with Flash Player 10 on Windows 7 x-64

Using the 32-bit browser doesn't help; what could I try?

I did the ten step codec cleaning, I think you posted that originally if not
I'll dig up the link, sorry I'm at work.  After that I ran malwarebytes (no
malware), then I accessed the audio properties under the control panel and
monkeyed with them, they'd been changed to modem#0 from my normal semantec
harware.  I changed that and rebooted and everything was seemingly okay.
However, the little speaker icon had disappeared from the tray about the
same time my audio problems had started and has never returned so there may
    be deeper issues.
    Here<http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm> is
the codec link I was referring to.  Hope this helps.  D

  • Issues with Flex3 and CF8 on Windows Vista

Sorry for the whine, however I feel it necessary to get a few
issues I've found with Flex3 on a Vista Laptop working with CF8
that I've not seen documented elsewhere.
    Environment:
Sony Laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 3 GB Ram.
Running CF 8 Standard Edition, along with mySQL 5.x and
access to a SQL Server instance on another machine on the same
    local network.
What I am trying to do:
    A) learn flex, my background is CF with over 8 years of
experience along with Flash AS2 along the way.
    B) put together a hello world app.
    C) use the flex/cf application wizard to build a simple
master/detail set of selection/edit screens for one table of a
database that I used recently on a CF8 project. To see how much
better the UI really is on Flex and whether I could use it to retro
fit that old application to have a better UI using flex3.
    Issues.
My mini-application is set up initially in the folder
c:/inetpub/wwwroot/mydirectory, but it does not work.
Reason is that when run, it cannot access the flex2gateway on
the url that the wizard puts into the app. which is
    http://localhost/mydirectory/flex2gateway...
    Details:
flex2gateway does not work on a subdirectory URL on the
    default web site.
    If I access
    http://localhost/flex2gateway/
I get a blank screen (as expected) meaning that the flex2gatweway
    is working.
    If I access
    http://localhost/mysubdirectory/flex2gateway/
    I get a 404.0 error (not found)
Now, I beleive this is supposed to work, something must be
wrong with one of the xml file setups. But I cannot find any
    documentation for it.
Initially the flex2gateway did not work at all. I did the web
connector thing with CF batch file and that got it working, but
only on the base directory, not the subdirectory.
So, to get around this issue, Luckily Vista with IE7 allows
more than one website.. I create a whole new website that is
    accessed using
    http://192.168.1.73:81/
I set this website up in the folder c:/localhost/mydirectory.
The flex project is called mydirectory
So we come to issue 2.
Given the above Issue number 1, I have further frustration
because when the Flex/Cold Fusion Application wizard builds the
various mxml files it insists on prefixing all of the remote object
    calls with 'mydirectory.'
    e.g "mydirectory.components.cfgenerated.mycfc"
Now, given that the web root is also the base of the project,
    this will not work.
    What actually works is: "components.cfgenerated.mycfc"
There seems to be no way I can configure the project when
building it to get around this issue. The only way |I can fix this
is to manually edit all the mxml files after the wizard is
finished. I also have to doctor the project setup for similar
reasons. It wants all of the urls to be:
    http://192.168.1.73:81/mydirectory/bin/main.html
    instead of
    http://192.168.1.73:81/bin/main.html
So obviously the wizard is not set up to handle applications
that are based right at the web root, even though this is the only
    place that the flex2gateway can work. <snafu I guess>
    Issue 3:
I find that the flex/Cf application wizard is set up to build
pages based upon a certain narrowly defined way of constructing the
source database tables. In particular it wants every table to have
its own unique numeric id for each row, and can't handle a string
for the primary key and have the primary key editable as well.
Seems inflexible if you ask me. The main problem is that the
preconditions on the table structure that the wizard can work with
are poorly defined and documented. You obviously had to go to the
same school of database design and the same class as the Adobe
developers to think in the same way.
Given that this tool is supposed to be a help to new users of
Flex and AS3 and it is supposed to be a productivity aid, perhaps I
should not be surprised to have had to spend over a week getting to
grips with the wizard and learning its tricks just to get it to
build a mind numbingly simple mini app of my own that works when
run. Sorry Adobe, but you get a F minus on your report card for
this one, particularly on the really bad documentation. Just as bad
for the coding complexity of the solution to seemingly simple
    application concept.
    Cheers,
    Bryn Parrott

    Hi,
Which version of RDP client you are using for your client?
Does more user login at same period of time?
As you have commented that after sticking the user can’t able to login in RDCB server, here I can suggest you to check the setting of connection broker. Also you can check that you have place the proper location path of UPD while configuring in collection configuration
wizard. You can take a look at below article foe virtual desktop configuration.
Deploying Virtual Desktops with Windows Server 2012
Are you trying to use same UPD for different collection then also it might happens to occur your issue. The fact of UPD is User profile disks are for a single collection only. A user connecting to two different collections will have two separate profiles. If
you want to synchronize settings, refer to Microsoft User Experience Virtualization. Go through this article for more understanding related to UPD.

  • Sound Issue HP Pavilion Dv6000 OS:Windows Vista 32-bit

After setting my notebook up to record vocals from a P.A. the internal speakers and two headphone in jacks are making a continuous, fast paced popping noise. No changes were made to the sound card or operating system previously to setting up the computer to record. The only cable I plugged in to the computer to record was a line in to the microhpone jack from the P.A. which is a setup I use to record guitars as well and have had no previous issues. The guitar amp I line out of is 75 watt amp and the P.A. is 60 watts so I don't think any kind of overload is an issue as to what cause the noise. I set volumes down on everything as a fail-safe before powering on the P.A but soon after I turned it on the speakers started making the noise. I'm unsure of what went wrong exactly but I can only draw two conclusions, either the sound card is fried or the input jacks on the computer shorted out. I disconnected the internal speakers so I can still use the computer without sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated with determining what is causing the noise or how to fix the problem would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
