i loaded my video clips into iPhoto. when i watch the clips in Quicktime from iPhoto they have sound....but when i put the clips into the iMovie the sound is gone....i cant find what is going wrong...

Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the video to DV.

Well, all I can tell you is that if your file is an m4a with chapter markers, those markers having suitably sized images attached, and you drag it into the Music area of iTunes (so that it appears as a song) in List view, when you play it and then command-click on the small image in the header (next to the progress bar) you should see your embedded images.
If this isn't happening the best place to ask would be in the GarageBand forum: my own experience of GB is rather out of date and in any case I've never used it for podcasting.

I am not being able to play sound when I import a .MTS file from my folder

I am not being able to play sound when I import a .MTS file from my folder on my sequence bar of my Premiere Pro CS6. Even if I use my Media Browser to import the file, the video plays fine, but the audio is disabled it seems. I don't know what to do since I have used .MTS files before without hassle on CS5.5. It is quite frustrating. What can I do?

Please mention the Operating System that you are using and also make and model of the Camera that was used to capture those clips. Also, try to make another folder with the same name in the same location where the .MTS files are and move all the clips into the new folder and then try to import the files again using Media Browser in Premiere Pro CS6. If this doesn't work then make a copy of one file and rename it as .M2TS and then import that single file into Premiere Pro CS6. Please update if either of the solution works for you.

Iation. When I import it to iMovie 6.0.3 the clip is on its side. How do I rotate it 90% . You ten have to turn your head sideways to view it ! How can I rotate the orientation?

Why are the movies I took on my iPad long and skinny with black edges when I import them into iMovie

I took several short video clips on my iPad and when I imported them into iMovie they are long and skinny with black on both sides. My other movies from my camcorder fill the frame. How can I convert them to be full frame. They are .mov format from the iPad?

From what you describe, you probably held your iPad vertically rather than horizontaly when you shot your movie.
The picture in iMoive is a rectangle oriented horizontally, so it's showing your vertical movie as large as it can.
If you cropped your vertical picture to fit the horizontal ratio of iMovie you'd have to cut off a lot of the picture.

I have M2TS video files stored on my computer. When I import a file into LR4, I have no sound. I also tried importing files directly from my Sony camcorder, but still have no sound.

No sound when previewing my projects in imovie

on my mac 10.6.8 My imovie project suddenly has no sound when I preview it, I also did a few voice overs and they do not play and there is a yellow warning exlamation point on them...they suddenly appeared. I didnt change anything, this just suddenly happened

I have three movies digitally downloaded through iTunes. While using my MacBook Pro, when playing the movies through iTunes, if the picture is small I have sound, but as soon as I expand the picture to full screen I lose all sound. I have tried the toggle and made sure my volume is up on my computer and that mute is off. It used to play on full screen, but not any more. I don't know if this is due to the latest iTunes update or if I am doing something wrong. It's just odd that it plays as a small picture, but not in full screen mode. Please advise.

I created a video in Photo Booth and when I imported it to iMovie, the sound went away.

I have a Macbook pro and have the new OS X Mavericks installed. I have updated iMovie, but there doesn't appear to be a Photobooth update. I need to put 3 videos together in iMovie. Two movies were taken on my iphone and saved on my desktop, the other was created with Photobooth on the same computer. I imported the first 2 videos into iMovie and they work fine. When I tried to import the video created in Photobooth, it said it had to be converted. I converted the video through the computer's option and it played fine on the desktop. Upon importing the converted file into iMovie, the sound disappeared. What am I missing?

When I import movies to imovies from a camcorder, the sound does not import. IPhone movies import completely.

I've tried using camera connected as well as card reader. The card is a 16gb SD card.

Need help- my folder is blank when I import it to Imovie

Hi, I just bought the imovie app for my iphone 4s. I have some videos (taken on my iphone but already transferred to my pc) which I am trying to import on itunes. I just want to get the videos on there so I can trim and rotate them. When I sync the folder, the folder name shows up in imovie, but the content is blank. I need to finish this project this weekend but am totally stuck.... Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I keep importing all these video files which are mp4 format and they have thumbnail pics but when i hover over them to preview they turn black and i cant see any thing!?

It is possible that the clips are are variant of h.264 that iMovie cannot read.
I would suggest that you get a free tool called MPEG Streamclip from squared 5 dot com.
Drag one of your clips into MPeG Streamclip. The File/Export Using QuickTime. Choose either the Apple Intermediate codec or the h.264 codec. H.264 will give you a smaller file. Apple Intermediate Codec will give you a larger file but smoother editing performance.
In iMovie, use File/Import Movie to import this new clip.
If that works, then MPEG Streamclip has a batch mode where you can do all the clips at once.

Why are some of my iPhotos distorted when i import them into Imovie

Have 100 jpgs that i have imported from iphoto, 92 are beautiful and crystal clear, the other 8 are grossly distorted when viewed in imovie, almost pixelated

How does the file size of these eight compare with the other 92?

No sound when i import QT DV movie into FCP

I downloaded some .mpeg movies from a site and exported them from QTP as DV NTSC movies. When I open them in FCP I get no sound. There is not even a sound clip when i drag the video into the sequence. They play in QT perfectly. Thank you for your help.

I used the m2v and aiff file conversion choice in mpegsreamclip. The m2v file will not play in FCP however the aiff file will. I converted the m2v file in QTP to a DV file but then i have to place this over the m2v and aiff files in the FCP sequence. So essentially the problem is solved. However is there any way to join the files to clean this up or should I have used a different choice in mpegstreamclip?

No sound when i import garage banmd files into logic express 7.1

i have garage band 3.0.4 and logic express 7.1. i just acquired both of these recently and have been trying to transfer my old garage band 2 files into LE. i have no problems putting my songs into garage band 3 but when i open them in logic theres no sound output. everything appears to be working, all the meters light up except the output master all the way at the end of the mix window. i dont get it. some of my GB2 files opened in LE with no problems but others, made with gb3 or exported from gb2 to gb3, wont work. i messed with the preferences, the sound is set to core audio but im still perplexed. anyone else had this problem? help!

thanks, ill give it a try. ive noticed that i dont have any problems when i open my GB2 files directly into LE. its only when i go through GB3. its really a drag, because i just updated and it seems theres no going back. pretty disappointing if you ask me. i updated to GB3 because of its much hyped "resolutions" of old problems, and here i am stuck with new problems. bah! thanks for the help anyway. if anyone knows of an easier/more efficient way to deal with this issue, let me know! thanks again.
