NO SPEAKER AUDIO iPHONE 3G

About 3 months ago I noticed that my iPhone 3G had 'intermittent' sound coming from the speakers in the phone - like there way a 'short' in the wiring. The phone has NEVER been dropped or abused in any way! Finally, the spkrs just stopped working all together! The headphone jack worked, but no speakers! Can't hear the phone ring, can't play the iPod - nothing. A couple of days ago, they suddenly came back on!! When the spkrs came back on I shook the phone and tapped it on on a solid surface (while in the iPod play mode) and it played just fine! Then, just as quickly, the spkrs died COMPLETELY again.
Does anyone have a clue what might be causing this?? Is it a software issue or a hardware issue? It's really annoying! I'm about toe switch to Android!! Thanks

I would suspect a hardware issue, however you could try to restore the iPhone from a back up to see if that makes a difference. If not then restore and set the iPhone up as a new device. If that still doesn't work then it would appear to be a hardware issue.
If it is a hardware issue, and you are out of warranty, you could look into a third party repair center which may be relatively cheaper than getting a new phone.

How do I get my iphone 4s to go to speaker audio when not on phone...ie. listening back to notes I have recorded? It seems I can only access the speaker when I am on the phone.
    Much thanks.

    Hello Frame1,
Thank you for the question.  It sounds like you are trying to listen to your Voice Memos on your iPhone using the speaker so that you don’t have to hold your iPhone to your ear.
Enabling the speaker is specific to each app.  When using the Voice Memo app, you can tap the speaker icon in the upper right hand corner to enable or disable the speaker.  When the speaker icon is blue, audio should play through your speaker:

  • Laptop left Speaker audio not working

    Sir,
I have dv-5 1102 tu model laptop, in that left speaker audio not working. But, in headphones & Speakers have no problem in both left & right audio.
    Kindly do the needful

    Hey @KKVK ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand your left speaker is not working on your dv5 notebook.
If the headphones are working it would tell us the sound card is fine. The same properties are applied to the speakers and the headphones in your audio control settings.
You could try a system restore to before the issue started to make sure it's not something in the operating system. To perform a system restore see the following guide: Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8) or Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7).
If this fails I would suggest contacting HP Phone Support to send the notebook for service. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the following link to get the support number for your region: Phone Assist Worldwide.

  • Does your hand moisture damage ear speaker on iPhone ? No rude comments just a question?

does your hand moisture damage ear speaker on iPhone like of you have moisture on your hand and you touch the ear speaker will it damage it you know ?

There are many who use earphones while exercising. My son uses his at his gym. They are about an year old and seem to work fine. The older "open" style headphones may have an issue though, because the exposed grill in the older headphones has a larger surface area. Salt deposits can cause problems for electronics, in general.

  • My speaker in iphone 4s is not working from yesterday ..it happened suddenly while listening to songs....do anyone had this pblm and how u resolved it?

my speaker in iphone 4s is not working from yesterday ..it happened suddenly while listening to songs....do anyone had this pblm and how u resolved it?

I got this problem solved and just want to let others know what it was.
I followed ewdel1's advice and brought my phone in to have it looked at and sure enough, was told that this is a problem others have had and it was due to a faulty integrated circuit.  Luckily, I was able to take this in to be looked at when I did because my 1 year warranty was about to expire in a week.
Apple replaced my 4S with a "new" phone.  The replacement looks and works good as new, so happy I didn't have to go through a hassle and the replacement was very straightforward.

    Try this:
    1. Reset the iPhone by pressing and holding the sleep/wake and home buttons and releasing them, when the Apple logo appears on the display. Now test again.
    2. If the issue persists: Restore the iPhone without any of your own content, using this description from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137

  • Dv6000t no speaker audio, low left channel on headphones

    HP Pavillion dv6000t, running Vista
Out of the blue, I recently lost speaker audio entirely, and the headphone jack now only gives me the left channel, at a very very low barely audible volume.  Bizarre...
I've updated the BIOS, did all the Windows updates, etc., tried 12 different Conexant HD audio drivers, nothing works.  No change.  I'm thinking hardware issue at this point?
I don't want to trash this laptop but I need the speakers to be working!
    Help and new suggestions welcome!

Somebody?  Anybody?  Not even a hint?

  • No Speaker Audio But Headphone Audio's OK

The audio on my  two month old A505-S6025 Win-7 Pro worked well yesterday. When I turned it on today the speaker audio was not working. I checked the Headphone audio and it is OK. I know of nothing I did that would have turned the speakers off and I can;t find any setting that is not enabled for them.
Action Center "couldn't identify the problem."
Anyone have any instructive comments to fix this?
    Thanks

Off and then On again.   Don't know why... did not change anything... just shut it down normally and the speaker audio returned when I turned the laptop on the next time I needed it.   No idea what the issue was but at least it is running OK... For now, at least.

  • No speaker audio-Pavilion dv9413

While watching a video clip, speaker audio stopped. Speakers are inoperative in all modes. However, headphone audio is working. Has anyone had a similar problem? If so, what was the fix.
    Thank you!

    bbrob,
    Welcome to the HP Forum.
    Reference this Guide:
No Sound from the Speakers (Notebooks Windows 7)
Because this issue is a recent event, the easier thing to do might be to "backtrack" in time to before things went sideways.
Restoring Windows to a Previous Point (Windows 7)
HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
System Restore sometimes works better if you first drop the system into Safe Mode:
Entering Safe Mode in Windows 7
Assuming that works, then you may want to set your Windows Updates to NOTIFY (instead of automatic updates).
Restart / Reboot the computer and log in.
Call up the Windows Updates program and do a search for new updates.
Check the list, click on one update and install it.
    Reboot the system, if necessary...
    Check your Sound.
When you find the culprit Update, use your system Restore to go back (again) so the update is removed.
Restart / Reboot the system and log in
Open Windows Updates, search and list the available Updates >
Right-click on the offending Update and select to HIDE / Ignore that update
At this point you can Create a Restore Point to mark the spot and either repeat the "hunt and ignore" process or just take a chance and install the rest of the Updates all at once.
    Good Luck!
    Click the Kudos Star!
It is a great “Thank You” for the Experts who take time to help!

  • IPhone 4s 7.2.1 Update Speaker/Audio Issue

So, first of all, updating my iPhone a few days ago was a complete hassle. First, iTunes gave me an unknown error, so I tried updating my Mac OS. Then, it started working, but halfway through the update iTunes gave me another unknown error. So I unplugged it (while it was sill on the update/loading bar), switched cords and tried again. iTunes said I had to restore my phone to do anything. I did, and then it got stuck restoring, with an unknown error. It was stuck on the loading screen, so I let it die overnight and was able to restore it the next morning.
However, now I have a problem: I cannot play any audio out loud through my phone speakers. The volume bar is either greyed out or missing completely in all videos (YouTube) and personal music. I also can't play anything through headphones unless I plug the headphones in and then turn the phone from silent to ring (which os usually not supposed to interfere with headphone in the first place). This also extends to trying to play music over bluetooth.
I tried restoring it again, but I still have the same issue. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it? Do you think the update is to blame, or how it freaked out on me during the update process?

Also, it makes no sound when text messages come up, even when the sound is on. It will play my ringtone though, so the speakers are not broken.

  • Speaker of Iphone 5s

When the headphones are connected and the phone is ringing the ringotone in the beggining sounds ok
but after a while it starts making strange noises. If i disconnect the headphones it sounds ok.
Any idea what might be the issue?

    Hello reyna171,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To troubleshoot your iPhone's speakers please go through the following steps:
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact Apple Support.
