No speaker sound after loading Os 6

After I loaded Os 6 on my iPad 2 my speakers no longer produce any sound. The headphones still work

If you still have sound in the music and videos apps. You have system sounds muted.
If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • HT4623 My iPad 3 has lost the speaker sound after updating to iOS 6.1, headphones are working fine

    My iPad 3 has lost the speaker sound after updating to iOS 6.1, headphones are working fine. Please help me out, done all the troubleshooting like restarting, side switcing, cleeaning the headphone jack etc.,

    Hi I also have this problem. Sound was only working on the headphones and also on the volume slider in the settings app. Everywhere else I get no sound and no volume slider. Now the headphones don't work either.
    (I'm using an ipad 2 iOS 6.1.2)
    And NO it's not muted. I've reset all settings and restarted the iPad. Been searching forums for a couple days. Some say its a dirty docking port problem, others suggest a Skype or other app update that could be the problem.
    No volume control icon appears when I press the volume control buttons. Only says sound effects, if it says anything at all. Most often there is NO volume icon. YouTube, video, music, and other game apps, no sound.

  • Only "Headphones" sound, no speaker sound after 4.2.1 upgrading

    After I had finished upgrading 4.2.1 firmware for my iPad, the speaker's sound has gone.
    I can hear the sound from my iPad only when I connected to any headphones or bluetooth devices.
    I tried many methods to get the sound back, starting from:
    1. trying to plug in and out my headphone - nothing changed
    2. switch on and off from the mute button (former is lock button) but it only showed "Headphones" or "Mute" sign.
    3. shut down and turn on my iPad - nothing changed
    4. Hard Reset my iPad and Restore - Still no sound, but I had to re-install everything again
    5. Ask everyone and search every "no sound from iPad" topics but found none like mine.
    However, while I upgraded the firmware, I noticed that I "locked" the screen during the process and I heard someone in the internet told me that it might be the origin of my problem.
    I tried to sync my iPad and find how to re-upgrading the firmware again with no "locked" the button but there is no way to.

    I've been having this problem for several months and just found this thread.  Unfortunately the solution isn't well spelled out, but I was able to resolve the issue.
    To recap:
    Problem: Many/most non-Apple Apps have no sound from the iPad internal speaker.  Plugging headphones in provides sound from all apps.  Apple Apps (youtube, music, video, safari, etc) continue to function and play sound out of internal speakers normally.
    Resolution: This issue appears to be related to the 'mute' / screen orientation lock button.  If your iPad mute switch was on mute when you switched it to orientation lock, 3rd party apps will remain muted via internal speakers no matter what you do.  Luckily an easy fix: Go Settings -> General and switch from 'lock rotation' to mute.  Slide the switch to the non-muted position. You can now switch back to 'lock rotation' and your apps will play sound from the internal speaker again!!!

  • Anyone experience "Zap" sound after loading Mavericks

    I loaded Mavericks and then Parallels 9 on my MacBook Pro.  Immediately following that upgrade, I began to hear at irregular intervals a zapping sound, like an arcing. The sound would immediately proceed some other sound (beep for an event for instance).  The longer in between the Zap sound, the longer the duration of the zap sound.
    Being concern that that computer had some motherboard problem and could crash at any time, I went this Tuesday and bought a new computer.  This was set up by the Apple Retail Store.  I then installed Parallels 9.  As it turns out---SAME SOUND IS OCCURRING!!!
    Has anyone experienced this?  It is beyond my expectation that software would be the cause but I can't imagine after having two same events after installing new software that I am an isolated situation.

    Autodesk just released an update for AutoCAD 2013: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-for-Mac/Autocad-2013-compatibility-with-Ma vericks/m-p/4561479
    I do not know if a similar one will be required for AutoCAD LT so be sure to check their website.

  • [solved] No speaker sound after suspend

    Hey I'm wondering if someone can help me out with this.  My speakers work fine after cold boot / reboot, but after suspend there is no sound.  Headphones still work before / after suspend.  This started quite a while ago, and I've been following this other thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=163248 but nothing has worked so far.
    It's on a Dell M1330 laptop.  Below are some hopefully helpful outputs - I didn't notice anything different between before and after suspend outputs.
    Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

  • No speaker sound after unplugging the earphones

    My IP4 now has no sound coming out from the speaker but through the earphone only. I tried to reboot/reset the phone or plug in or out again the earphone, but still not working. After I press the volume +/- buttons on the side, it displays it still on a earphone mode even I don't have the earphone plug in) Pls help.....

    Create a folder on the desk top.
    Open up the driver pack with winrar and extract the raw drivers to created folder.
    In Dev Man click update driver and then point to have CD so you then get a list of devices for your sound card, there may be 2, either one will do.
    Point the next steps to the folder with driver and try and force it.

         Hi,
    installed Yosemite 10.10.2 two days ago. Ever since the only sound that is working is the start up sound over the internal speaker.
    After start up NO sound works, external speaker, internal speaker or HDMI output for any application.
    I have no idea what to do. can someone help me??
    My hardware setup is:
    Mac mini (Late 2012)

    Would be super grateful for your help!

    Download and reinstall OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Combo Update if you upgraded an existing Yosemite system. Otherwise, do this:
    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
    Also see:
    Reinstall OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Choose the version you have installed now:
    OS X Yosemite- Reinstall OS X

                     if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Beep app stopped making sound after upgrade to 2.6.22 kernel

    hi, beep app stopped making sound after upgrade to 2.6.22 kernel Jul 29 2007; my PC still beeps on reboot; i searched for the beep package at arch home page and found
    the beep package maintainer's name: Damir Perisa    how do i contact him if there are no other fixes for beep no longer making any sound? thanks in advance for your quick
    response; resident, a happy arch user

    Check if the PC speaker kernel module is present:
    lsmod | grep pcspkr
    If that returns nothing, then check /etc/rc.conf for these line:
    MOD_BLACKLIST=(foo)
    MODULES=(bar pcspkr)
    MOD_BLACKLIST must NOT contain pcspkr, while adding it to MODULES should autoload it on boot.
    If you want it to load right now, then just enter:
    modprobe pcspkr

  • How to stop a sound from loading ? my_sound.unload or something ?

    I want the sound to stop loading when I press the stop
    button, I have:
    var my_sound:Sound = new Sound(_root);
    my_sound.onLoad = function() {
    my_sound.start();
    preload_btn.onRelease = function() {
    my_sound.loadSound("some_sound.mp3", false);
    stop_btn.onRelease = function() {
    my_sound.stop();
    Say I click the "load" button, the sound starts loading, when
    I press the "stop" button the sound should stop playing but I also
    want it to stop loading, the sound keeps loading from given URL, it
    loads in background and making network traffic. I can only fix this
    by giving my sound an empty sound file to load, but it must be some
    other way, right? Something like my_sound.unload ?
    Thank you.
    Adrian.

    Yeah, I remember someone posted that solution a long time
    ago. It seems if you load a file with the same name the cache
    doesn't
    know any better and adjusts the download size to the smaller
    one. Maybe it's a good way to do it! Could it be a way to remove an
    mp3 from someone's cache after it plays? hmmmm Will have to
    do more testing.

    Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
