No Standalone Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Drivers Availble for Downl

I bought a new motherboard today and planned on updating my system with the new hardare. I cannot find my Audigy 2 ZS drivers CD and it does not look like there is a standalone driver for this card available on the Creative Labs website.
I have e-mailed tech support and awaiting a response. I have a feeling I will be forced to pay for a new drivers CD in order to get this card to work.
Thet fact that Creative Labs has this lack of support is appalling to me. Nvidia, MSI, Intel and every other component manufacturer in my system has drivers readily available for download on their website. It looks like Creative is trying to profit from the consumer and this makes me sick, very sick.
I am about to throw this card out the window and buy a Turtle Beach.
Creative can also expect a lot of bad press regarding this issue from me.

Ioman,
What's the model number off of the card? Also, could you get the inkstamp number from the underside of the card? This will help identify exactly which model of the card this is. Was this a retail card, or was this originally an OEM?
The reason I am asking this is that if the driver required a previous version of the drivers installed it would have given you an error stating that it couldn't find the required drivers. If it said that it couldn't find the card then it may be different problem altogether. I know for a fact (as I have installed this driver on a bare system before) that the EAX 4.0 Update will install without any other drivers installed (in fact one of the systems at my house is setup like this).

Edit: SB's advice is pretty good also... except I would suggest that instead of doing a manual install via device manager, browse the extracted folder to Audio/Drivers and run the program called CTzapxx.exe (which is the application for manual driver installation). Make sure to disable any Antivirus or Antispyware software prior to running this, as they can interfere in the installation of drivers.Message Edited by Jeremy-CL on 07-4-2005 0:02 AM

  • Years ago I purchased a Creative Labs Inc. Travelsound i50 speaker for a 2nd generation shuffle.  I lost that shuffle, so I purchased the latest Shuffle, which obviously does not fit this speaker.  Is there another similar speaker device I can purchase?

I purchased a Creative Labs Travelsound i50 speaker through Apple some years ago for my 2nd generation Shuffle.  I purchased a new Shuffle, and obviously this style does not fit the speaker.  Is there another speaker that can be purchased to fit my new device?

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Creative Labs Zen Micro installation drivers need

This must be the only mp3 player that requires installation on every computer you want to download music files on to. Major pain in the ass, IMO. But if anyone would be so kind as to send me the installation drivers, I would be extremely grateful. I lost the original installation CD and don't want to purchase another one through the Creative site, which I think is really stupid too. That should be free. Other than that minor issue, I love my Micro!!

    klsassi,
As OSUScooby mention, all the driver/application you need to sync with the player can be downloaded via the download section within the website. Also, it's definitely not the only player on earth that require driver/software to work with.

  • Make older drivers available for downl

Creative, seeing that you really can't make drivers (or are intentionally making them **** to force people to buy?future shoddy goods), can you make it possible to download the two older drivers, because even though they are diabolical, I prefer the older drivers to the newer performance killers.

Never mind, blind as a bat. This thread can be deleted. [ ---EDIT--- ]?Scrap that, I just looked at the sticky links, and saw that there is no 28 Dec or 8 March drivers. Any chance of making these available again?!Message Edited by N-TWO-O on 03-7-200704:44 PM

  • Creative SB Audigy 2 NX CLA for my notebook Dell Inspiron6

I have a Dell Inspiron6400 notebook. I want to buy a Creative SB Audigy 2NX CLA exterior soundcard for to send music trough internet without using microfon. Can I do it with this soundcard. Will I see stereomix in my sound manager record settings. I want to share playing music in internet without microphone which I am unable to do with my notebook now.Hope you can help me to make a right deceition upon a saound card that I have to buy.

Hi Chris. The original disks will not work at all, not a single piece of software on them can function with Vista. They'll install just fine, but they can't recognize the audio device because the driver Vista uses is unrecognizable to the old software, which can only work with the old XP driver. So you're a bit up the creek with that method of install.
    Please perform the following:
    1. Uninstall EVERYTHING you've got on your Vista machine now related to your Creative audio device. It will only cause you headaches later on.
    2. Go to this page: Audigy 2 NX Everything
    3. Create a separate folder on your machine and download to it the USB Vista Driver, Alchemy (newest), CD driver (newest), Wavestudio 7 (newest), Creative Mediasource 5 (newest) and the Entertainment Center (newest). Please check the details of each to be sure you're getting the product with Vista support.
    4. Install the USB Driver first. Vista has one already, but it's too basic and doesn't allow you to manage any settings properly. Then everything else.
Prepare to be a bit disappointed. A LOT of functionality has been lost in the new Vista software including: NO remote control functionality (except for volume but that's only with MediaSource running and it's VERY VERY SPOTTY, I gave up on it entirely), NO DVD PLAYBACK (which is retarded...CREATIVE, FIX THAT NOW!!), Poor CMSS (if any), Spotty EAX even with Alchemy, NO MP3 SUPPORT (you have to buy that separately now for yet another $10) and a host of other issues making the Audigy NX a poor candidate for a laptop running Vista (and what laptop ISN'T nowadays ).
But you are where you are. Enjoy what I have listed above and please feel free to ask for further assistance. It is my hope that Creative is actively working on brining the Audigy 2 NX back to life for we Vista owners out here in the real world. Hopefully the issues I've listed above will all be fixed in short order.

  • When are Creative going to release NEW Audigy 2 ZS drivers? (CAT/ADMINS plz read last pos

    <SPAN>Hi
<SPAN>First and foremost I would like to emphasise this post is by no means a flame against the hardworking staff at Creative Labs, but more of a curious question.
<SPAN>I am a relati'vely happy owner of an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum PRO. Apart from a few niggling teething problems which were sorted out extremely well by Technical Support (they even shipped me a newer revision of the driver installation CD free of charge) I have had no problems!!!
<SPAN>HOWEVER, Doom3 version .3 added OpenAL and EAX 4 support, which as you might have guessed is good news for us Audigy2/ZS/4 owners.
<SPAN>Unfortunately to get the best out of Doom3 I had to download BETA drivers, this was not really a problem since they are relati'vely stable, but these drivers do have a few niggling problems.
<SPAN>For Example, the THX Setup console does not remember the speaker position settings. AND Half-Life 2 requires the speakers to be set each time I enter the game.
<SPAN>E.g each time I load Half-Life 2 I have to set the speakers to 7. surround (pre BETA drivers did not have this problem)
<SPAN>It would be nice if somebody from Creative was to either release an updated version of the BETA driver (preferably non-BETA), an updated THX setup console, OR to inform us when a new Driver and applications will arri've.
<SPAN>Not meaning to sound rude, but FOUR MONTHS is rather a long time for a Driver to stay in Beta status.
    <SPAN>Thanks for your time
    <SPAN class=time_text>
    <SPAN>Cat top day to you!
<SPAN>I have a suggestion, or rather proposition that Im sure allot of folks here will agree with. <IMG height=6 src="http://forums.creative.com/i/smilies/6x6_smiley-happy.gif" width=6 border=0>
<SPAN>How about instead of the preview site http://preview.creativelabs.com being used exclusi'vely for releasing beta <SPAN>64Bit drivers for public testing (which next to nobody uses). How about you (Creative) extend public beta testing to <SPAN>32Bit drivers and applications for release on the http://preview.creativelabs.com website ?.
<SPAN>Imho it will make the official drivers much more stable and worthwhile for the average user. It is just a thought and suggestion .<IMG height=6 src="http://forums.creative.com/i/smilies/6x6_smiley-happy.gif" width=6 border=0>

That would be fantastic CAT if you could fill us in on driver update. 4mths is a bit much.
I use the beta's ATM jut to test em out and give feed back on how they work.
Still no EAX in BF2, However I get better performance and no more sound drop out, YAH. TOP JOB TEAM !!!!
Seem stable and all console apps work fine.
Though I still get NO eax ( reverb, occlusion ) in the following games.
    Soldier of fortune 2
    Starwars BattleFront
Call of duty and Call of Duty UO
    Painkiller
    BattleField Vietnam
    GTA SA
    UT 2004.
Hmm, thats alot of games that STATE EAX that I dont get it with. Even with other drivers I still get no EAX.
I do get AWESOME EAX in these games though.
    Rainbow SIX raven sheild
    Theif 2 DS
    V8 supercars 2
    Colin MCrea rally 4
So my card is fine and working perfectly.
Hope the next set fixes everything up EAX wise.

  • I need Drivers for Creative-Labs PCI128 PCI CT-4750 to windows 7 help!

hi, people, I need Drivers for? Creative-Labs PCI28 PCI CT-4750 to windows 7, I installs a few drivers but in the SO dont work very well, because this card have 2 out of audio and only sound out (green out), I think the problen is the drivres, I cant found, need help, im from venezuela, mi english its not good T_T
    here the imagen: <img border="0" height="338" width="450" src="http://images.enet.com.cn/iflow/articleimage/200404/080872909934.jpg">
in the control panel > sound > only appears the opcion "mono and stereo"

Unless you can get the last XP driver from 2002 to install in compatibility mode, you can pretty much forget about it. That card is just way to old to get any kind of driver for Windows 7.

  • Creative Labs - Drivers update?

C When is Creative labs going to finally going to release a driver for Windows 7. The current driver was made available 3 months BEFORE 7 was released.
I don't know about anyone else, but I had to uninstall my XtremeGamer card because I kept getting BSOD while playing GAMES!!!!
    Get on the ball people.

I want new drivers written exclusi'vely for Windows 7, I'm tired of the old drivers for Vista that are only partial compatible with Windows 7.
So far I have bought 2 headsets and soundcard for my Windows 7 system, I had to?RMA the headsets as the soundquality was horrible, and the soundcard issue is getting on my nerves, cant RMA the card but I?will go outside and smash it into thousands fragments and install a card from another manufacturer today. I have the Fatalty Pro card VS A brand new aluminium baseball bat.
I used to be a hardcore Creative fan, ever since their first card came that could handle speech in PC games. But luckily we have alot of other soundcards today.
I can recommend Razer headsets, they have very good soundquality, they are lightweight and doesnt break as easily as Creatives headsets. And Asus?soundcards, Xonar series is brutal?with great drivers. But this line will probably get edited because they dont want people to read that there are other brands that are better, and more reliable.
It's my personal oppinion, it doesnt have to reflect what other gamers think.
But if I was running a company like Creative I would make sure to have drivers for new OS the very same day they were released.
    Over and out
Bye Creative, Hello Razer Headsets and Asus soundcards, no more bluescreens due to memoryleaks in Creatives drivers. Dont know how many times I've stresstested their drivers and they always fail on my system.

  • Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 Zs help

Before I start rambling on about my problem here are my specs (BTW I'm not incredibly computer literate; my dad helped me install everything before I left for school):Cpu: Intel Duo Processor 2.66 GhzRAM: .5 GB DDR2Video Card: ATI Radeon 9600 (soon to be one of their newer models)OS: Windows XPSound Card: Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS?Ok so I was reinstalling everything after I had to format my computer. I get through installing my creative sound card and figure everything went great. I was playing my music when I had realized that I forgot to configure my sound card for them, as I was getting mono instead of stereo (was only playing out of left speakers). So I go into speaker setup and click on "calibrate speakers" or something like that. Anyway, the speaker calibrator says that It could not be ran for some reason (i forget). I figure that it wasn't working because I hadn't updated anything yet. I update, and I still get the same message. So I reinstalled the software and updated it again and now when I try to run ANY of my creative software related to the sound card (I.E. EAX console, Speaker Setup) it says that "The Audio device supported by this software is not detected. The Application will now shut down."? Now remember that I'm not great with computers, so my solution now will probably sound stupid. But anyways I figured that I had installed the wrong sound card software (it gives me three choices on the disc). I uninstall everything and choose another setting. I still got the same problem. So I try the third choice and I get the same problem. Any suggestions? I've tried all three choices and I still get the same problem.

    Hi
You may first need to patch the driver package by using ctcomp.exe to get std. drivers (eg. not Dell specific) installed to your Dell PC. Search this forum after ctcomp.exe --> there you'll find some instructions too.
You can also find a link to the latest drivers available (I personally use Audigy 4 drivers from november 2005 --> can be found from creative support pages) by searching this forum (I think the latest WHQL version is .~62 for the original version).

I for one am not sorry to see Creative get their comeuppance.
I've never had any of the drivers that were boxed w/ a card on CD work properly - I always have had to update 'em immediately upon installation & then dig through their website for a driver package that wasn't bundled with their incredibly buggy "bloatware" that masquerades as utilities.
I'm just glad to have my Audigy ZS working halfway decent, but I still suspect it's drivers are responsible for at least 30% of any BSOD's that I occasionally get.
I'd be really PO'ed if I was struggling with an X-fi...

  • Creative Labs: A Boy's St

    Hi everyone,
I came to these forums after I heard of the recent developments from Creative Labs. After reading what many people wrote, I?thought I would share?the story of how Creative became a part of my life.
I was twelve years old when I first learned of Creative. I had saved up enough money over a year and a half?and finally bought a 486 DX-2 50Mhz computer. I cannot tell you how many lawns I mowed and dri'veways I shoveled. Take a minute to remember what prices were like in the early 990s and you'll understand why it took so long. I would have been able to get a sound card included with the computer had I saved for another month or two, but I was twelve - I wasn't going to wait anymore!
Two?months after that purchase, I had saved up enough money to buy a sound card and speakers. Finally my system would be complete!? I started looking for a sound card and heard from many people that SoundBlasters were the only kind I should consider. Thus, the SoundBlaster 6 was my first sound card. Indeed, it was the first component I ever installed in a computer and it went flawlessly.
Because "Soundblaster" compatibility was important back then, I purchased only Creative products. Even as a teenager, I noticed the bloatware that was starting to get bundled with the drivers. I also noticed that the quality of the drivers was deteriorating, but I was always able to make them work well most of the time. There were a few blue screens of death, but I just shrugged and rebooted.
As we approach the present, it is clear to me the trend I noticed has reached a breaking point. I was stunned when I saw that Creative had the nerve to tell someone who was doing their job for them to stop. For this reason, my sound card has been placed in the garbage and I am using the onboard audio included with my Shuttle system. On a side note, installing those drivers was a cakewalk compared to some of the installations I went through with Creative products.
It is obvious to me, someone who has only been without a Creative sound card for two months, that the company either has no idea what they are doing or does not care. I will not purchase another Creative product again, nor recommend that anyone do so, until new management is present and is turning the company around. This includes making higher quality, less bloated, more stable drivers that activate all of the features present on the card and work on all operating system in the same way.
I have signed the petition (link below), and encourage people to do the same. I know perfectly well that a petition is unlikely to change the policies of management, but it is at the very least one more way to make my displeasure heard. I am number 26 on the petition, and I hope many more will sign so that the extent of their customers' displeasure becomes known.
That is my Creative story, and it is a sad one. I am sad to see a company so capable of producing excellent hardware fall into the trap that is poor management.
To Creative: Please turn around your company and realize that hardware and software must work together seamlessly. Please reorganize your management team and put in place individuals who understand how to build relationships with customers. Please realize that people who pay you money have taken the time to earn it and are worthy of higher levels of support for their products. And finally, please recognize that punishing a member of the community who picked up slack where you left off is a horrendous way to build customer relationshi
    ps.
Indeed, that is how you are losing mine.
I wish everyone on here the best, and thank you for reading this little story. I was told growing up that words can move mountains, so I encourage everyone to leave some words of their own.
    Thank you,
    Tim

The purchase effecti'vely eliminated Creative's only competition in the gaming audio market.
