NO Star Trek Episodes Play anyone know why
Anytime I try to download/play a star trek episode it does not download and says the same thing everytime "PLAYBACK FAILED There was an error while playing back this video" Any suggestions? I have windows XP and live iN Los Angeles. Could there be a copywrite law here? Has William Shatner demanded more money?? Plus if I have several downloads going at the same time, and if the program I am NOT watching downloads first the file disappears and cant be found?? Where do the downloads go?? You should just be able to click on the file thats downloading in order to play it or find the file after its downloaded, But thats not possible. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
When you're editing DV, the DV stream is converted to analog for viewing externally by the camera/deck/box you're using connected to the FW port on your Mac... so the problem here isn't that FCP can't do it... (it never could and probably never will) . The problem is that the hardware to do this isn't in any HDV device... Bet it's not cheap either. HDV is an MPEG stream, and to decode that in real time converting it to analog would take a LOT of heavy lifting... expensive heavy lifting.
I'd suggest that you get a capture card that will do this... I'd look right at a Kona LH series card. Better yet, if you have an intel Mac, is an Io HD for the job. Capture as ProRes instead of HDV, and you'll find the whole system is faster, and graphics look a ton better.

Podcasts from Current Tv, since three weeks prior to the Nov 2012 election have had a url problem and cannot be played on my mac mini 2011 with 10.8.2 and the latest Itunes? anyone know why> ? I am in contact with Itunes now and they wanted screenshots of the problem, I can get these current tv episodes with a vpn and my isp says they are not blocking them, but i was surprised that prior to the election they were blocked, ?

I am waiting for the senior advisor to get back to me on this issue. I am in THailand now where the problem is happening and as I said the ISP says they do not block any podcasts.I also do not want it on my iphone 5, so I have to wait and see why the mac mini is not getting it.I seem to have fixed it by putting <div class="clearfloat"></div> after the navigation bar?

Does anyone know why my podcast wont play anymore?
Recently (past couple of days) whenever i go to play one of my podcasts, i get a popup that says "This episode is temporarily unavailable from *Insert podcast*" i dont know how to get it to fix, and it is not just that podcast, every other podcast episode says that aswell, including others from different producers. does anyone know why this is happening, is this happening to anyone else, and does anyone know how to fix it?
Delete the downloaded episode and re-download it. This has been something of an issue for me as well over the last few versions of the podcasts app. You may want to turn off podcast syncing in iTunes. Sync the phone. Delete any remaining podcasts from the phone, then turn it back on and re-sync.

Does anyone know why my music wont play on my 7th generation iPod nano? I've tried resetting it already but that didnt work. Can someone please help.
I would to a Restore. Select the iPod in iTunes. Go to the Summary tab for the iPod. There is a button there to do a Restore. This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings. After Restore complete, try playing songs on the iPod again.
If THAT does not fix the problem, and it's not bad headphones (since you also tried the "speaker"), there is probably a hardware problem on the iPod. All 7th gen nanos are still under warranty. If you have an Apple Store nearby, you should take it to the store's Genius Bar. To minimize waiting, you can make a reservation on store's web page.

Hi i have avi files saved in iphoto that i used to be able to play through quicktime. However in the last few weeks i cannot play many of these files. I can see the videos and click on them but nothing happens (i have version 7.6.9 of quicktime). Does anyone know why this has happened and what i can do about this?

As previously stated, AVI is a file container. It is somewhat old and its originator, Microsoft, dropped official support of it over a decade ago. However, it remains popular with PC users since almost any valid audio and/or video compression format can be stuffed to the file which synchronizes the content by interleaving the individual audio and video frames. The compression format is the specific manner in which the audio and video data are encoded as it is placed in the AVI container. You can find the compression format by inspecting the file in the Finder "Info" window, or in the "Inspector" window of the QT player (or other media player) if the file can be opened.
For instance, one popular compression combination would be to place DivX encoded video and MP3 audio in an AVI file container. However, neither DivX nor MP3 is natively supported by the QT player. (Although iTunes will natively support the MP3 audio.) Therefore, people who wish to play such files in the QT 7 Player would normally install either the DivX component or Perian but not both. Either installation will independently play such files in the QT Player, but if both are installed, the file will usually stop working since these two codecs can create a playback conflict.
However, the AVI container could just as easily contain DV along with DV audio. In this case, the file should play correctly in QT since this compression format is natively supported by the basic component configuration that comes in every current OS installation. Therefore, if such files suddenly stopped playing, this could be an indication that a component has been moved or deleted or that your system or QT embedded structure has become corrupted. -
My ipod nano this morning has started to tell me the accessory (lightening to 30-pin adaptor) I use for playing it through my docking station is not supported. It worked fine up until last night. Does anyone know why this might be?
Clean any debris from the adapter, docking station connector and the connector on the Nano.

I downloaded the new version of itunes and it changed my path. I have over 10,000 songs in 100's of play list. This is the third time it has happened. It is putting file://localhost in front front of the path. Does anyone know why and has a solution RJ

I got a new Macbook Pro and a Superdrive when i put in a DVD it reads it and puts a dick icon with the DVD name when i open that i have the auido and video folders but cant play the DVD anyone know why.

My older episodes are dropping off iTunes. Anyone know why?
I have released over 20 episodes of my podcast this year and for a while they stayed up but recently it seems only the last 8 are showing up. I have not moved the files, changed the feed, or done anything like that. Does anyone know why this is the case? I see other podcasts I listen to have many episodes.

My computer won't play videos from site like the Daily Show and the CW, but they stopped working last week. I have the newest version of Adobe player. Anyone know why the full videos will not play?

When I bootup the icon for Elements shows up in orange. It changes to green only when I've gone to Finder and clicked on Elelments under the Devices list. This is a recent development. The icon used to be green upon bootup. Does anyone know why ?

I'm not affiliated w/ the developer, just a happy user that gave up fighting the apple podcast app a while ago. I used to have a bunch of smart playlists in itunes for my podcasts, and come home every day and pathologically synced my phone as soon as I walked in the door, and again before I walked out the door in the morning.
Since my wife was doing this too, we were fighting over who's turn it was to sync their phone.
Since I've switched to Downcast, I no longer worry about syncing my phone to itunes at all. I can go weeks between syncs.
Setup a "playlist" in downcast (ex., "Commute") and add podcasts to that playlist. Add another playlist ("walk" or "workout") and add different podcasts to that one.
Set podcast priorities on a per-feed basis (ex., high priority for some daily news feeds, medium priority for some favorite podcasts, lower priority for other stuff). Downcast will play the things in the priority you specify, and within that priority, it will play in date order (oldest to newest).
Allegedly, it will also sync your play status to other devices, although that is not a feature I currently use and can't vouch for. It uses apple's iCloud APIs, so to some extent may be limited by what Apple's APIs can do. -
its been a couple days now since my macbooks been playing up someone please help me. ive got firefox, google chrome etc none of them are loading facebook every other websites works fine, facebook takes 5 minutes to load and it goes to a mobile website without loading anyone know why? im using a macbook pro 2011 with ios 10.6.8

Does anyone know why- when I import a one minute video project into Final Cut X from I Movie the resolution that looked alright full screen in I Movie instantly becomes worst on full screen in Final Cut X...but clear again when I stop it to still position?
I'm new to video editing but I think I recall seeing an option in FCPX which lets you choose the video quality for the preview window. I think the window reduces the quality when playing back for performance reasons and so perhaps that is why it seems to have less quality when moved over to FCPX? Just a possibility, I'm sure one of the more experienced users can confirm or deny this theory.

Now you've really lost me. How did we change the subject from not being able to play any movies from ichannel to being able to see the movie but not have sound to now iTunes not wanting to play downloaded movies.
Sounds to me like you have multiple issues... focus on one thing at one time.
Do ichannel movies play on your Mac without issues?
Are you trying to play stuff off your Mac onto your TV and are having video or sound issues? How are you connecting the Mac to your TV? (Output and cable usage, etc.)
In iTunes once a movie finishes downloading, it'll be listed in your Movie section, just click play from there. It should play unless iTunes is unstable or something. Quitting the app and restarting it via the iTunes menu should fix this unless the app itself has other issues. -
No audio when exported to DVD......anyone know why?
I finally got my project to export to my DVD and it has no audio.
It plays with the audio fine when its on FCPX but when i burnt it to the DVD there was no audio and just video.
Anyone know why?When the Export window shows, does it report two files (as below)?

Good day, I have an add-on that uses a UDO. When I click OK I don't set any code on the numbering of the UDO as it increases itself. Now I get an error saying "To Generate this document first define numbering in the administration module". It worked
