No startup without plugging in.

Hi,
My Macbook has stopped starting up when not plugged in with the power cord (and shuts down if unplugged). The battery has charged up to 100% (it was around 70% when I first noticed this happening).
When trying to start it lights up the little light on the right hand side, sounds like it's winding up, flashes the screen, then dies again.
I have tried resetting the PRAM, downloading the SMC update, resetting the power management - still doesn't work. The Hardware Tool on the install disc does not find any problems.
Today it has stopped starting up sometimes even while being plugged in - although when this happens it waits on the white screen with the apple logo. It can still start from the install DVD.
I thought it could potentially be a hard drive problem - not getting enough power to start up - but Disk Utility and Tech Tool Pro have not found any problems (and can still see the disk implying it is still spinning ok).
I have previously had a few problems with the Macbook shutting down randomly, but this seems a bit different.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My applet program is running well in default browser, jvm 1.1.8. but when using Sun jvm 1.3.1 or 1.4.0 plug-in, It makes so many error :(
So, I want to run it without plug-in, even if adding some codes.
If even already installed Sun JVM 1.3.1 or 1.4.0 there, I want to run on browser JVM 1.1.8 by force!

I have never done it, but what you are saying is exactly how you do it. Erase all content and settings and then restore using iCloud. Read this article and it explains it. It is pretty straightforward.

Why that would occur when booting with Extensions Off and not normally is odd.
Try reseating the RAM modules - one or another may not be fully seated in its socket.
You can also download and run DIMM First Aid, which can provide some basic tests of RAM modules, and even repair coding on some which are a bit under spec -

Another way to try booting to a CD is to put the CD in the drive, then open Startup Disk control panel. If the CD is bootable, the OS on it should appear there and be selectable. Do that, then restart.
If it balks at booting to the CD after restarting, you can switch the machine back to booting to the OS on the hard drive by zapping the PRAM.

I have a deployed axis servlet (1.2.1) running on a weblogic server (8.1.5) wich accepts a DIME attachment. The client sends the attachment via axis rpc call.invoke() methods. If I send the attachment via a IIS proxy plug-in URL, I get IOExceptions (shown below with IIS plugin debug output). I'm able to send the attachement successfully, however, if I bypass the proxy and use a real weblogic server URL. The IIS plugin works for all other types of soap calls.
I've tried changing the wsdd http transport on the client/server to use the axis CommonsHTTPSender without any luck, see: <http://wiki.apache.org/ws/FrontPage/Axis/AttachmentProblems>
I hope someone may have an idea what the problem is using the IIS proxy. Thanks.

I too am getting the same exception trying to go throuh IIS going to a Tibco CIM application hosted on WebLogic server.
Everything worked fine with my demo certs. The problem came in when I tried to use a cert generated by my customer's internal certificate authority.
The certificate works fine when going directly to the application servers through SSL. However, when going through with IIS, I get the stack thread in this thread.
Did anyone get an answer to this. I would appreciate it if they would post it.

Updating without plugging into the mains...argh help please?

Hi, I've just installed new software on my iPod Mini and now want to get on with loading more songs onto it. The trouble is, it won't recognise my ipod on itunes until I've plugged my iPod into the mains using the regular charger. I don't have the regular charger on me!! Is there any way to still use my ipod with my pc without connecting to the mains? This is the only chance for me to add more music.

Your other options are to connect it to your PC via 6-Pin powered firewire port if you can... or possibly a car cigarette lighter charger.
At this point, your iPod needs to complete the update process and connecting to an external power source is the only way to complete the process.

Interface startup issues & plug in info needed.

I use a Presonus firestudio mobile for my Logic software.Each time I turn on my Mac & try playing a project on Logic ,I dont hear anything through the interface.I dont even see the meters going up.But then I close Logic & open up studio One DAW,I hear the music on the interface.I then shut down Studio One & go back to Logic & everything is back to normal & I hear the music hrough the interface.Can someone tell me why this is happening of late & how to set it right.I always have the audio set up to go through my firewire interface on Logic by default,but something blocks the sound from coming through Logic or even the built in speakers of the Imac.
The 2nd question is some of my plug ins (3rd party) that were once found on Logic does not show up anyore.How do I go to the plug ins page on Logic to see if it is activated or not?

Are the studio speakers self powered? If so they should be connected directly to the Interface audio output.
You don't want to use the $2 audio chip in the Mac when you have an audio interface with much better sound.
What are you initializing? The Presonus? Not sure what the "cycle 1/96" was all about.

Set both Input Device and Output device to the Presonus.
Set the I/O buffer to 256.

NSP ABAP Automatic Startup without logging on

I have the ABAP trial version loaded on a standalone PC.
I access the NSP system remotely, and rarely log onto the NSP system directly.
Is there a way I can configure the system so that the NSP Server is automatically started at system startup, rather than when I log on?

Thank you for the suggestion, but the startup folder is only executed when you log in, just as the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run is also only run at logon.
I was looking for a way to start it automatically after the system boots without the logon requirement.

Battery Full - macBook won't swich on or work without plugging to mains

Hallo Everyone!
I've been a big Mac enthusiast without owning one for a long time. Finally on the 6th Feb I got myself my first Mac - MacBook to be exact. It worked First two days without any proplems. Yesterday (10th) I couldn't switch it on. Got very scared as battery was showing fully charged. After tryng for some time and hearing some buzz sound - as if MacBook was starting - and the first 'acord' of the sound when you start Mac I decided to plug it to the mains. And then without a problem MacBook started.
If i unplug it from the mains Mac will switch of. It seems like the fully charged battery is not connected.
Any suggestions? or should I just go to AASP. I thing I go there tomorrow.

Went to the AASP and the guy checked with another battery and My MacBook worked just fine. So now I have to wait for a new battery to be ordered. It takes up to 2 weeks.
The only weird thing is that my MacBook is only 6 days old... I have seen others here having the same problem it looks like an outbreak!

Laptop unable to startup when plugged in

Hi, I have a laptop operating on Vista that won't startup properly when plugged in to power but will start up when operating on batteries. Once the computer has booted up and windows completes its startup I can plug it in and there doesn't seem to be any other problems but it is very annoying. Has anyone experienced this before?

No replies- can I be a bit more specific- When I say it doesn't start up properly, I mean that it hangs on the bios start screen and won't go any further. Then I have to close down, wait for the battery to charge, start up again and let "windows" go through the diagnostic crap for 10 minutes then restart it again only on batteries. After the machine has started, ...completely loading "windows" I can plug in the power cord and operate normally. Any ideas??
