No store icon under icloud

I just updated to Lion and iCloud and I'm trying to get everything to sync.  I can't seem to get iTunes to automatically download because there is no "store" icon in my iCloud settings.

Hi,
I cannot seem to transfer podcasts to my Ipod. There is no « Podcast » icon under the Ipod in the Itunes window. I’ve tried to drag’n drop, I’ve tried to copy a podcast to the Ipod, nothing works. And it’s not because of parental controls either, because none are activated.
When I use the Ipod, I can see a “Podcast” function in the main menu, but it just says that there are no podcasts.
Sorry if this problem has been addressed before, but I couldn’t find it in this forum. I’ve only had the Ipod for a few weeks and am still learning to use it. I tried to find information about this problem in the manuals and on the support page but there was nothing relevant.
Can anyone help me please?
When you plug in your iPod and iTunes has brought up the status page for hte iPod, try clicking on the "Podcasts" tab, and making usre there's a checkmark next to the appropriate item. I had a similar issue on my iPod Photo when I first started getting into podcasts, and this solved it for me. Hope it helps you!

This is presumably because you are running an earlier system than Lion. (Please always post your system when you have a question.)
The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
If you are running Leopard on an Intel Mac you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard to access the Mac App Store - it's available in the online Apple Store. However if you have a PPC Mac you cannot run Snow Leopard and cannot proceed further.

  • Icon for apple store is gone. iCloud is also offHow do I restore icon?

Let some children play with my IPad 1.  Apple store icon is now missing and iCloud is off.  Also cannot get to certain sites such as PBS or app hits.  What do I do now?

I'm surprised if the app store icon is really gone, they should not be able to remove it. They might have moved it somewhere that you aren't seeing it. When you are on your home screen try swiping to the right. That will bring up a search window. In the search window type in "app" and see if the iPad finds your App Store icon.

  • I am using Iphone 4... how to delete the updates in the app store icon? I dont want my updates to be there anymore.. pls help me with this.. the history in updates under the app store... thanks.

I'm using Iphone 4. how to delete the stuff in UPDATES section from the app store icon pls??????

The only way to do that is to delete the apps on your phone or update the apps.

  • I have an iPad mini, 16GB, running on the 7.1.2 iOS system, my App Store icon is no longer on my home screen and neither is my iTunes Store icon. They are listed in my settings but I can't access any unless through other games, or songs on iPad.

I Have an iPad mini operating on 7.1.2 iOS. My App Store icon as well as my iTunes Store icon are missing from my home scree. They are still listed under my settings, but I can't access them unless it's through an app that already exists. Where can I go to reinstall these?  I use the same Apple ID on my iPhone 5c as well and they are on the iPhone, but I don't know how or why they just disappeared from my iPad and want to know how to get them back without having to reset my iPad and lose what I have on it. Thanks, Karla

Thanks so much! My grandaughters played games on the iPad over Xmas and one of their moms said shed restricted their access! Guess they forgot to enable again. Thank you again! Karla

  • Dashboard question and my app store icon disappeared...

I was looking at the dashboard widgets to download and I found a game to download. Once I downloaded it and opened up my dashboard, all I see is the game. All my other icons are behind the game and I can't see them. I don't know how to make the game screen smaller like the other icons or even delete it.
I am very new to owning my first Mac, so I put in the Mac OS Install DVD and after it finished downloading, my app store icon disappeared. There is a question mark in the place that was my app store icon. How do I fix that?
    Thanks!

Did you reinstall the software from the dvd? It sound like you are now running an os that is under 10.6.6.
Click on the apple icon in the menu bar and select "about this mac"
That will show you the os version you are running now. You need to have 10.6.6 and above to have the app store installed.
In this case all you have to do is run a software update and download the lattest os update which should be 10.6.8.

  • I have accidently deleted the App store icon off my home page, how do I get it back, do I need to re down load?

I have accidently deleted the App store icon off my home page, how do I get it back do I nave to re download??

Swipe through your screens and swipe to the left of your Home screen. Type in App Store in the search field. It's a permanent pre installed Apple app so it can't be deleted.
If you can't locate it on the iPad for some reason, connect the device to your computer. Right or control click the iPad under Devices left side of the iTunes window then click: Restore from backup

  • Purpose of icons in iCloud Photos?

When viewing individual pictures in my photo stream under iCloud Photos on the Apple TV, I notice that there is an icon in the bottom right corner of the TV screen.  There is the "talking bubble" icon like that which is used for the iMessages icon.  And next to it there is a downward-pointing caret symbol (⋁).  I only noticed them after the Apple TV 6.0 update, but maybe they were there before.  Can anyone tell me their meaning?  I can't see any way to access them via the Apple TV remote.

Yes they were there before the update.
When you share your photos via photo stream with other people, they are allowed to add comments to those photos. The icon you are referring to will display any comments made on the photos you are displaying.

  • Cannot subscribe to podcasts; no podcast icon under source list

Hi, all. I scanned the first couple of pages of threads under this forum and didn't read any threads that helped me. I downloaded my first couple of podcasts ever last week, going directly through npr.org. I wanted to try subscribing through the itunes store, but I can't click on subscribe (I tried several different podcasts). When I double click on the podcast at the bottom, it won't play. I read a bit in the help section on itunes, and I thought it said I should look for a podcast icon under my source list. I don't have such an icon. I just clicked on itunes store and then clicked on podcasts. I double-checked and I do have the most recent itunes. Also, I have wireless internet and I'm always connected to it when my laptop is on.
    Any advice appreciated; thank you!

I'm not sure I totally understand what your problem is, but a couple of things to note...
    1. To get Podcasts to show in your Source list, go to iTunes Preferences, General and put a check next to Podcasts.
    2. Did you download the podcasts from the iTunes Store or from NPR's Web site? Podcasts downloaded from sources other iTunes will usually go into your Music library along with all your music tracks.
Does that help at all? Not sure what you mean when you say: "When I double click on the podcast at the bottom, it won't play." What window are you in? The bottom of what? Please explain further.

  • Missing app store icon

    Hello,
I am missing my app store icon on my IMAC, I looked all over under application, I don't see it. How do I get it back?
    Thanks!

Hi Becky: If you are running OS 10.6.6 or higher you should have the App store. If this is your OS, then you may need to download the Combo updater to restore the App store. See the link below. Please note it is a large file.

I just upgraded to a new MacBook and my wife is inheriting my old MacBook Air. How can I change the her MacBook Air to now be fundamentally hers? That is, so the House Icon under Users folder is her name and not mine? Also the default AppleID for purchase stubbernly remains my own.

You do not mention it, but I will assume you are running OS 10.9.1.
Go to: Apple menu / System Preferences / Users & Groups. Click the padlock and enter your password.
Click the + (plus sign) and set up a new account for your wife. You have to enter a bunch of info. And then create the correct Login Options. Automatic login does not require a password from the selected user.
When that is done, verify the account works by restarting the computer and login as your wife.
Make sure that any applications in your own Users folder that will be needed are moved to the Applications folder in your wife's Users folder.
Now go back to Users and Groups, click the padlock and authenticate, select your own account, and hit the - (minus sign). This step cannot be reversed, so you might want to wait a few days before doing it.
When your wife is logged in, the App Store will know.

  • Can I retrieve my notes that I accidentally deleted? I noticed that my notes are not clicked "on" under icloud does that mean info isn't saved?

I accidentally deleted the notes from my note app. I sync it again but nothing happened then realized on my phone that notes isn't clicked to "on" under icloud. Is there any way to retrive the info?

If you had activated the option to save notes at some point in the past you might be able to restore from that backup, if it is still listed in iCloud. If you had never selected that option your data is gone, sorry.
How to restore from a backup
When you go through Setup Assistant on a new device using iOS 5 or later, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose from which backup to restore.
If the home screen icons appear on your device and you wish to restore from an iCloud backup, erase your device (by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings). When prompted to set up as new or to restore from previous backup, select Restore from iCloud Backup. Enter your AppleID and password when prompted.

  • App store icon retreival

One of my kids was using my mac and thought that the app store icon and the itunes icon were the same. So thinking I didn't need a duplicate on the dock he deleted the app store icon.
I thought I would find it in the applications folder in finder ---not! So where do I look for it??

Your 1st post says you’re using Mac OS X 10.6, Snow Leopard, but you posted under OS X 10.5, Leopard. 10.5 doesn’t have access to The App store.

  • Since IOS8 update App Store Icon gone

Since upgrading to IOS8 (including the new fix that I got this morning), the App Store Icon is gone as is my ITunes Icon.
I have a music icon.  Is this a problem of IOS8 or does it have something to do with Family Sharing or iCloud?

Thank you thank you thank you.  I have them back now.   Interesting enough I went to the Apple Store today and two people couldn't figure it out so they scheduled me an appointment for tomorrow for one of the technicians.  Now I can cancel that…. Thanks again.

  • Why is Authorizing a computer from the poxy icon on the LEFT top of the screen such a painful experience? Apple is adverse to nice big logical location? The iTunes Store icon rather detracts from the proper location, how about a simple picture with clue?

This had been driving me nuts. I just notices on the top left a little down arrow as clicking the iTunes Store icon on the right just took me to how many computers were authorized but not how to authorize it???? #@$%&!
Would it be that hard to have it on my account information?
Ugly software is what it is. Only found it by accident.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
