I found this document: "Target {database instance, oracle_database} is broken: cannot compute dynamic properties in time [ID 739993.1]"
Which said:
1. Stop the dbconsole
./emctl stop dbconsole
2. Have a back up of the emd.properties file which is in <ORACLE_HOME>/Hostname_SID/sysman/config
Increase the value of
dynamicPropsComputeTimeout=60
to
dynamicPropsComputeTimeout=120
3. Start the dbconsole
./emctl start dbconsole
I follow the instructions and the problem was solved.

Which said:
1. Stop the dbconsole
./emctl stop dbconsole
2. Have a back up of the emd.properties file which is in <ORACLE_HOME>/Hostname_SID/sysman/config
Increase the value of

3. Start the dbconsole

Java.lang.Exception: No Such Target - wait_bottlenecks
I am using OEM 11g and getting following error on one of the database environment.
java.lang.Exception: No Such Target - wait_bottlenecks
I have tried few options based on following oracle note, still no success.
I have one node RAC. But there are two instances seen in OEM, one is down.
Also, following error is displayed under database target of OEM: Metric Collection Error
6.3.4 Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control Error
The Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control home page may show the following error if the dynamic properties evaluation is not complete:
java.lang.Exception: No Such Target - wait_bottlenecks
Workaround:
Run these emctl commands on the master agent. Go to the cluster database home page and click View All Properties link to identify the master agent host. Recompute dynamic properties for the Oracle RAC instance and Oracle RAC database on the master agent host using the following commands:
emctl reload agent dynamicproperties rac_instance_target_name:oracle_database emctl reload agent dynamicproperties rac_database_target_name:rac_database
If the error persists, then increase the timeout for dynamic properties for the target by editing the emd.properties file located at$ORACLE_HOME/host_dbname/config, and providing a larger value for timeout_value. Increase the timeout value on all the nodes of the cluster. For example:
dynamicPropsComputeTimeout_oracle_database=timeout_value dynamicPropsComputeTimeout_rac_database=timeout_value emctl reload agent emctl reload agent dynamicproperties rac_instance_target_name:oracle_database emctl reload agent dynamicproperties rac_database_target_name:rac_database
This issue is tracked with Oracle bug 12907579.Error message is same in listener log and EM trace file. Also, same message is repeating in listener log, may be OEM is keep on trying to connect to database.

Hello!
There're a lot of iSCSI targets with one or two 1Gbps nics on market today but I have serious doubts about their performance: 1Gbps(or 2Gbps) compared to 6 Gbps in raw SAS/SATA make me think their network speed will be the bottleneck in any setup (for example,
two node cluster with an iscsi target). Can anybody please tell me what performance issues may arise, for example, if I place a VM with SQL server on such target?
Thank you in advance,
Michael"To have fault tolerance you have to have either dual hardware controllers (storage virtualization
creating LU from ultiple physical spindles) or use distributed software controllers (DRBD, HAST, Clustered Storage Spaces etc). " - I don't agree: fault tolerance can be provided by the single RAID 5 controller - of cause it's better to have two controllers
but it's just one more level of fault tolerance. Many (or even all of them) iSCSI targets have RAID controllers that allow them to be fault tolerant and I can't understand why this is not the case with DAS: "If RAID capable, HBAs must be in non-RAID
mode with all RAID functionality disabled".
To make a long story short I'd like to know why I can use RAID with iSCSI and can't with DAS/SAS.
Regards,
Michael
Because Clustered Storage Spaces don't handle LU reservations in software (unlike other Software Defined Storage solutions like VSAN for example) and rely on a hardware mechanism inside single dual pot SAS drive for that. So either you use dumb SAS controllers
providing raw access to SAS spindles or use Clustered RAID controller who handle distributed lock on it's own (LSI Syncro for example) and in this case you *CAN* RAID disks and them pass them to CSS.
StarWind VSAN [Virtual SAN] clusters Hyper-V without SAS, Fibre Channel, SMB 3.0 or iSCSI, uses Ethernet to mirror internally mounted SATA disks between hosts. -
"No internet access" on Guest Wifi
We upgraded our router the other day, we made a backup as well as a txt copy of the config file for copying in various commands to the new router .
We have a Secure wifi for employees and a Guest wifi for visitors. We have a server doing the DHCP(10.27.131.8) for both the secure (10.27.131.0 network) and for the Guest (10.26.131.0 network). The Secure wifi is working as it should be - the Guest however is not. Visitors can connect and get a valid IP address from the 10.26.131.0 network but have no internet access. Everything else has stayed the same - no changes to the AP's.
Again we copied the config from the old to the new with a few minor changes but nothing that should effect the Guest wifi.
I did an ipconfig after connecting to the Guest Wifi and I can get a correct IP address 10.26.131.214, Default GW: 10.26.131.1.
I enclosed the config from my router is anybody could shed some light,
Thanks in advance.

I also apologize for my late answer.
I appears your ACL 101 that filters traffic entering the Fa0/1.20 is not correctly written to allow DHCP requests to be processed by the router. The attempt has been made - but it is not correct. In particular, check out the second entry in the ACL 101:
access-list 101 permit udp any host 10.27.131.8 eq bootps
It allows all DHCP messages that are already targeted to 10.27.131.8, the DHCP server. However, such targeted DHCP messages may be used by clients only after they know who the DHCP server is in the first place. Until then, the requests are targeted to 255.255.255.255 and sourced from 0.0.0.0. Such packets are not allowed by any entry in the ACL 101 and are therefore dropped even before the DHCP Relay Agent can process them. That would explain why your clients actually cannot obtain IP address via DHCP in VLAN 20.
We need to add the following entry immediately before or after the existing second entry in the ACL 101:
access-list 101 permit udp any host 255.255.255.255 eq bootps
You may accomplish this by the following sequence of commands directly pasted into the global configuration:
ip access-list resequence 101 10 10
ip access-list extended 101
15 permit udp any host 255.255.255.255 eq bootps
end
The first line will cause the individual entries of the ACL 101 to be internally numbered, starting with the sequence number 10 and incrementing by 10 for each subsequent entry. The second line enters the ACL 101, treating it as a named ACL, allowing us to use the extended editing features. Finally, the third line starting with the sequence number 15 will cause the entry to be added between the existing first (seq no 10) and second (seq no 20) entry. It must be entered including the sequence number, otherwise the line will be added at the end of the ACL.
Would you mind trying out this modification? The former corrections with the NAT I have described earlier must be applied as well.
Best regards,
Peter -
Oracle 10g Enterprise Manager Error
Hi,
I am getting below error when I open the Oracle-10G EM on GUI(Here my OS is Linux ES)
"java.lang.Exception: No Such Target", Any idea wt will be the cause?Hi Leo,
I have the same issue.
1. I am using stand alone version.
2. "emctl start dbconsole" ran successfully and it said Database Control started.
3. I tried "localhost:5500/em", "MyComputerName:5500/em" and "IP Address:5500/em", all have the same result that after login and refresh, it shows "java.lang.Exception: No Such Target".
Connection to the database was fine. No other problem so far except for this error message.
Thanks for looking into it!

Options for modeling massterdata attributes which can have multiple values
Hallo All BW Experts!
here is a modelling requirement which i find quite interesting and challenging.
How can we use attributes for a masterdata which can have multiplevalues. Currently these kind of attributes are stored in seperate ODS. One example for such a requirement might be the Busines Partner groupes. Each Business partner can be in more than one group.
my question is , How can we modell such kind of masterdata model which enables us to use these attributes for restrictions in reporting from various independent infoproviders. Main problem is due to the condition that the no of such groups per each user is not fixed and can be changed in runtime.
any suggession will be rewarded.
with regards
ashwinHi Arun!
Is there any possiblily to create such a model in BW which is flexible. One option might be to use a heirarchy. Actually the requirement looks like this. We must be able to analyse all businesspartner data and with that data we will be able to group the customers into various target groups. now we want to anyalyse the performance of such target grouops in past time.
to be simple
1) it is possible to create customer groups based on masterdata charecteristics.(there is lot of facilitiey available in BW3.5 and more in 7.0 for this) this is very dynamic
2) Now is it in anyway possible to analayse the performance of such a group. I think currently heirarchies serve such purpose but small limitation in SAP is that they must not contain more than 100000 records otherwise the performance is siverly limited.
any suggestion

Show status of a Mac's PRAM battery
Is there any software available for Mac OS X Leopard to show the status of the Mac's PRAM battery? Thanks.
Based on what you've posted, your instructor is clearly trying to get you to dig deeper into computer security.
If you're depending on anti-virus and anti-malware tools as your foundation of knowledge here, then you will want to learn more about the trade-offs inherent in those tools — classic signature-based anti-virus isn't particularly effective against polymorphic malware or other shenanigans, nor is it particularly effective against spearphishing or other such targeted attacks, nor against 0days.
Here is some reading that'll give you a grounding in what's involved with OS X security:
Apple security guides for 10.6; the basics are still true
NSA security guides for iOS and OS X
If you don't find any malware on your system — which is entirely possible with Microsoft Windows, OS X or Linux — then you'll want to use your initiative here, abd perform some sort of directed research. Possibly describe some malware and how it might bypass "protective" tools — like that antivirus stuff you're depending on — or describe how components such as Gatekeeper and XProtect work in some details and what the tradeoffs are with these tools and with other forms of anti-virus and anti-malware tools.
Opinion: remember too that you're looking to satisfy or to preferably to impress your instructor, and you're looking to satisfy or to impress potential employers — a good school teaches how to research, and how to think. What you happen to learn about, while you're learning to think for yourself and to research questions? Perversely, that is almost incidental. (All of the tech I learned about in college is long gone, or has massively evolved.)
Obtaining and maintaining a reasonable assurance that your system has no malware would probably be more far more interesting in general, too — "randomly" finding one hunk of malware is a much smaller achievement, after all. -

I have to log into ilom and do "stop /SYS" to power off and "start /SYS" to power on again. Then it boots fine.
Thinking the server was faulty , I jumpstarted a second server and the same thing exactly happens.
Both "init 6" and reboot fail to restart the server, i need to power down and up again.
What's going on ???
GeorgePerhaps show-post-results is for a different version, the command doesnt seem to exist at the ok prompt?
### As well as diag-level does not seem to exist either
{0} ok setenv diag-switch? true
diag-switch? = true
{0} ok setenv diag-level max
Unknown option: diag-level
{0} ok
But anyway, I've got it running a very berbose POST and no sign of any hardware errors. No hardware errors in messages either.
I've also tried two other servers of same type and none of them reboot either.
If ,for example, I am at the Solaris prompt and I type "halt" it drops me to the ok prompt, but the keyboard becomes unresponsive until I do "stop /SYS and start /SYS" ( with auto-boot? set to false ) , Then it comes up to the ok prompt.
Finding this ILOM to be not very intuitive , I tried to follow instruction to configure the ALOM.
-> create /SP/users/admin
Creating user...
create: Internal error
Create failed ( so that was a bit of a waste of time )
Properties:
type = Host System
keyswitch_state = Diag
product_name = SPARC-Enterprise-T5120
product_part_number = 602-3577-08
product_serial_number = BEL08077QG
fault_state = OK
clear_fault_action = (none)
power_state = On
-> show faulty
show: No such target /faulty
Getting very confused now !!!

Can we mainatain target system such as objects not modiefied by transports
is it possible to maintain setting in SAP BW system (especially in BWQ and BWP system ) so that objects don't get modified even through tranports?.
to say in other words, can i lock the sytem so that, it wont accept anychanges in the object in the target system even though transports are good.
the reason for this question is, I suspect that transport of my datasource is getting failed (I mean, I see the datasource is in inactive state eventhough the active datasource been transported) as the datasource is locked under the client' authorizations settings sucha way to non modifiable. Secondarily its issueing a error dailogue saying "'SAP system is set to not or non modofiable.
Thanks in AdvanceHello.
Please check note 337950 which explains the object changeability n Business Intelligence.
Check also your settings in the SE06 and SCC4 transactions, which are used to "open" or "close"
the objects to be modified or not.
337950-Queries (and other objects) cannot be edited
Please check also note 1028130 which explain a known issue with Datasources transport.

Is the mac mini safe against virus attacks or do I need to install a anti-virus program such as kaspersky. I normally check for updates and all my equipment religiously, can some please advise.
Thanks
rachealfromva"Viruses" have not been the real issue on Macs. The real issues
have been malware and trojans. In these cases, the user is most
likely lured into believing that they must download certain software
and the user actively accepts it. The other case is users that try to
beat the system by downloading software from "warez" sites trying
to get out of paying for software. Torrent sites are also a favorite target
for trojans and malware as well.
The best defense against these sort of attacks is:
-If you didn't request it, don't accept it.
-If a site claims that you must download an upgrade
for a polpular plugin, Adobe Flash for example, go to
the plugin/software vendors site and verify that you
are not up to date and get it there.
-Only download and install software directly from vendor
sites and only from reputable vendors.
The one reason for AV software would be to check mail
that you may forward to Windows machines so as not
to affect them. And again, as far as mail, if it is unsolicited,
trash and delete and don't open any attachments or links. -
How to create policies on new target type such as mysql target type?
In MGMT_USER_DEFINED_POLICY package, the target types are predefined.
G_HOST_TARGET_TYPE CONSTANT VARCHAR2(32) := mgmt_global.G_HOST_TARGET_TYPE; -- 'host';
G_DATABASE_TARGET_TYPE CONSTANT VARCHAR2(32) := mgmt_global.G_DATABASE_TARGET_TYPE; -- 'oracle_database';
G_LISTENER_TARGET_TYPE CONSTANT VARCHAR2(32) := mgmt_global.G_LISTENER_TARGET_TYPE; -- 'oracle_listener';
G_CLUSTER_TARGET_TYPE CONSTANT VARCHAR2(32) := mgmt_global.G_CLUSTER_TARGET_TYPE; -- 'cluster';
If i added new target type to EM and want to create some policy on the target type, Must I recompile the MGMT_GLOBAL package by adding new defined target type.Chapter 8 in the EM Extensibility Guide (available for download here) should help.

Why is iTunes Match such a moving target on matching things?
I have been playing with iTunes Match for the last several months. I recently deleted everything out and re-matche/uploaded everything. I have two issues with the service.
1. The service relys to much on the whole time track to match it. I have been using the trick of shortening tracks to what they are in iTunes to get tracks to match. However this does not always work. I am picky and I like to have everything be the same as far as a consistent listening experience.
2. This leads to problem number 2, why is it it cannot match tracks that it previously matched. Since the putting everything back up into match, I currently have 138 tracks that are listed as Matched AAC files but are uploaded to the service.
These problems wouldn't be so bad but it's frustrating when you have 10 tracks out of 36 match with no reason or explanation. It feels like i'm having to game the system to get my stuff to match up.
If anyone has a suggestoin why things are missing contantly or how to get a higher match rate, I'd geatly like to hear it.Michael Allbritton wrote:

I did some experimentation this morning with iTunes Match album art that wasn't appearing for me and have had some good results. To begin, it's clear iTunes Match has some size limitations as to what it will accept for album art. If you have 600x600, 45k images, it won't display them. Re-size to 300x330 25k and if all else is correct, they should show up. My guess is this is by design. The core audience for iTunes match are people accessing it while on the go. Less bandwidth, faster downloads, more space for music, etc.
To follow up on your answer a bit, Jim, I use album art that is 600x600 @ 72 DPI in much of my custom applied album art and it does show up on my iPad via iTunes Match. I've found that the best resolutions for album art are either 300x300 or 600x600 at 72 DPI.
600 x 600 works? Good to know. Admittedly, I didn't try to nail down whether it was dpi or file size that mattered most, just took things down to 300 x 300 and around 25k and that did it. Perhaps it's file size that's key here. I'll go as small as I can both ways though, provided the image looks OK to me via AppleTV on my 52" Samsung. 300x300 seemsOK to these old eyes and I'm hoping smaller will improve load times for the artwork.
I can guess why Apple decided to put some limitations on art, rather like they have with the 200Mb track limit - which drops a lot if the song gets converted to AAC on the fly in iTunes before it's uploaded. Could they have implemented a similar re-size/resample for artwork? Sure, and perhaps they will one day, but for now I'm just glad to have a pretty good handle on how to fix it myself.
