No Support USB from G5

Hi,
I have a big problem: the connexion usb doesn't working. I have no keyboard neither mouse!! Oo
Before, it's working but after crash' MAC OSX Tiger...
I can't (re)install the system!!!
Someone has a solution please???
Thanks,

Hi! Try resetting the psu/smu which will reset the ports. Some early G5s have the button which you push once with all external cables unhooked and if it doesn't then unplug everything and let it sit for 30-60 minutes then restart. Tom

  • MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R support booting from USB devices?

I am building a super computer using the MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R. I would like to either get a USB pen drive, or an external Floppy Disk Drive in place of an internal Floppy Disk Drive.
Does anyone know if this board supports booting from a USB device?

I ordered my board as well, however, they were out of stock and it may be as long as 2 weeks before they get more in. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get yours from? I am VERY much excited about getting this board as I only await the MB and CPU. What all are you putting in yours??
    Mine:
    MB-   Obvious
    CPU-  2.4 800Mhz
RAM-  2 sticks, 256 PC 3200 XMS Corsair using dual channel, at first I think I will use the 512 pc3200 I already have though.
HDD-  80GIG W/D 7200 RPM ( May get another to run RAID 0)
    VGU-  Chaintech TI4200 at 8x w/ 128 DDR
    CD#1- 52x cd rom
    CD#2- dvd 16x, cdr 48 cdrw24 cdrom 48
    500W raidmax Pwr Sup
    Koolcases Panther case w/ window and 3 80MM/ 1 60MM fans
For now I will even use the old 3.5 A drive. Just in case.
    Red light internaly
Digidoc 5 for thermal monitoring on:
1.cpu  2.ram  3.VGU 4.case 5.HDD 6.other ram 7.chipset 8.dvd for curiousity sake. just curious of the temps they produce. but always able to move it to a more vital area if the need arises.
Will be upgrading to liquid cooling in the future, that way when I am deployed the temps stay in the blue. (HOPEFULLY)

  • How do you access files from an external harddrive connected to TC through USB from iPad or windows computer?

  • I can't restore 'library' with support files from Time Machine

backup - I can't restore 'library' with support files from Time Machine - Ask Different
Due to an accident, my entire applications folder with all the support files, including plists and caches got deleted.
I tried restoring by files from the most recent Time Machine backups but I cannot retrieve my applications with the support files.
I even tried it with migration assistant on a new image.
    Is this impossible?
    Must I start from scratch?
    Details of the ‘accident’
I was using this app called ‘AppCleaner’ that also automatically deletes related support files which are normally left behind if one simply trashes an Application.
In the search view, I typed the app name and I selected all the apps in the results using Command + A. Unfortunately, this selected every single Application in the Applications Folder in the background and I trashed and deleted all files.
    Anyway.
I tried to restore the applications and library from my Time Machine Back-ups but failed to do so because I didn’t have enough space to restore. (I have a 11inch Macbook Air 2012 64GB SSD
When I tried to restart in recovery mode, I had the same problem, I was disallowed the option to restore using my time capsule backups because my SSD didn’t have enough space for the backup.
I then tried to restore it to a totally different but new image on a 64GB USB3.0 Sandisk USB Stick, but the process stopped after hours of being stuck around 30.4 percent and the computer was unable to boot, leaving me with a persistent verbose message suggesting it couldn’t identify the os, kernel or anything.
I finally tried restoring the state using migration assistant on the very same SSD that had my files missing. This happened successfully and I have all my applications in the applications folder.
But now I have 13GB free (I had 2GB before) and all my application support files, saved states, preferences, caches and customizations are gone.
Basically, it feels like I just got a new macbook with my documents and itunes folder loaded on to it.
How can I get my apps back to the pre-deletion state or is this impossible? Do I have to start from scratch? I thought my Time Machine Backups would restore it to exactly the same state, am I wrong?

Can you simply navigate to your Time Machine backup with the Finder? Treat it like an external hardrive and just look for your old Applications folder. /Applications/
Also, quite a few apps put config and support files in ~/Library/Application\ Support/
So you may be able to get the files from there as well.

  • Elements 8 does not support USB 2.0 Webcams?

From what I've gathered Adobe Premiere Elements 8 does not support USB 2.0 Webcams, only supporting USB 1.0 .  Is there a driver or something to allow support for USB 2.0 Webcams?
    - I have an Xbox Live Vision Camera.
    - Windows 7 Professional (Awesome)
    - Adobe Premiere Elements 8 trial version
I don't wat to buy this until I know my webcam will work.  I liked the onion skinning ability of Adobe, but if I can't get my webcam to work it doesn't really help.
    Thanks.

USB Web-cams pose all sorts of problems for most NLE programs. One possibility would be to use the capture software that came with the camera, of other, and then using the files in PrE. Depending on what the potential capture formats/CODEC's are available, conversion might be required.
    Good luck,

No, it is not available for 305. For devices which support USB OTG differentiates themselves from non USB OTG devices
by having their micro USB port in rectangular shape.
    Hope this helps.

  • When downloading Windows Support Software from BCA, download freezes at about a sixth of the way

When I download the Windows Support Software from BCA, the progress bar freezes at about a sixth of the way through. I took my MBP to the genius bar, and they told me I should use a USB drive instead of a DVD, but even when I use a USB the problem persists. I've even tried saving it straight to my Windows Partition, and the same thing happens. I've seen many people with a similar problem, but instead of getting something like "The Windows Support Software is not available", my download just freezes. I tried to uncheck "Auto Proxy Discovery" in system preferences, but it already was. I also heard you could use the drivers on the SL installation disc, but I have a late 2011 MBP, which came with Lion, so I don't have an install disc. Does anybody else have the same problem or a solution? Any help would be appreciated.

Oops, sorry. I meant to say Release Preview, not Consumer Preview
Like I said before, the progress bar just freezes when I do what http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4407 says. Also, that article was for an MBA late 2010, but I have an MBP 8,2 (late 2011). I don't think that makes a difference, though. The only thing I actually need the drivers for is for the wifi card, which W8 RP doesn't seem to detect. I tried looking for BCM4331 drivers on the internet, but apparently, broadcom doesn't let you download their drivers, but anyways, thanks for the reply.
This is exactly where the download always freezes, about a sixth of the way through:

  • Ideapad S205 doesn't support booting from SDHC-Card

    Hello,
I have the Ideapad S205 and  I cannot boot from a SDHC-Card (Ubuntu Linux) with the internal cardreader. With an external card reader  I can boot from the SDHC-Card.
Is there any solution or maybe a BIOS-Upgrade?
    Thanks
    Simon

when you see lenovo logo, press f12 to set bios order.
also, check for bios booting option. if there's not option, i don't think s205 supports booting from sdhc, but apparently it supports usb boot.

  • Does Satellite 2410-504 support USB boot?

I own a very old Toshiba Satellite 2410-504, which came out and was bought in 2001/02.
Am curious whether anyone knows it's possible to USB boot in this?
I have USB key but can't boot from it.
Maybe it doesn't support USB 2.0 etc.
    Am not sure.

This is very old notebook model
From my experience such old notebook series did not support booting from USB flash memory stick.
Some of the series supported booting from USB FFD drive (its a drive which supported diskette. Maybe you can remember ;-) )
However, Im quite sure the BIOS would not support the booting from USB flash memory stick

  • "No supported USB 3.0 ports found" - Error while using Kinect v2

I recently bought the Xbox One sensor and the Kinect adapter for Windows
for application development. I am using a Gigabyte 970a DS3P mobo with onboard USB 3.0 ports. Processor - AMD FX6300, RAM - 8GB, GPU - Nvdia GT730 2GB DDR3(Direct X11 compatible). When I am running the Kinect Configuration Verifier
Tool two things come in red.
First, it says - "No supported USB 3.0 ports found" even though I have connected the sensor to USB 3.0 ports.
Second it also says - "Insufficient depth frames received".(or insufficient frame rates, something like this)
Third - The sensor stays on for few seconds and goes off and comes back on. This happens all throughout.
Lastly - While running the SDK samples Audio Basics(anything related to audio) and Color Basics(anything related to Color camera) never work.
Kindly let me know what all changes I need to make in order to get full performance from my sensor. Also if this is related to a dedicated USB 3.0 Controller issue please explain how I can implement that in my present system.
Will using a USB 3.0 PCIe expansion card help? If yes then which brand/model that will be compatible with my mobo.
Note:- I don't connect to the internet while using my Kinect sensor and have no other devices on the second USB 3.0 port that I have.

  • Satellite A20: BIOS update to support USB booting

    Hi,
Does anybody know if there's a BIOS version for a satellite A20 which supports booting from USB devices (other than from the floppy drive, since that's already supported)
The reason i need this is because my cd drive is bust. And i'm a student, so i can't afford a new internal one, but i do have an external one... So i want to use that one for the recovery process...
I don't know if i can ask this, but can't i somehow tweak the bios that it WILL support the external dvd-drive, i know this is not recommended, at all, but i'm really really desperate :(
    Can someone help me?

Sorry but Mike has understand you very well. If you want to install OS using external USB connected CD/DVD drive you need the right driver because at booting process it is not visible for your system.
Please talk with your friends at the university. Any of them must have enough know-how how to do this. If possible try to obtain external USB FDD and create somewhere W98 start disk. Start your notebook using this disk and load MS-DOS driver for external CD/DVD drive. It must be somewhere on the net. After loading this MD-DOS driver the external drive should be visible for the system and you will have access to it to start recovery CD or Microsoft installations CD.
Other way you can remove HDD from your notebook and connect it as external to other PC. If possible create two partitions and copy I386 folder to second partition. Put it back and start notebook using W98 start disk. You should be able to access second partition and start installation from second partition.
As I said talk with your friends and I am pretty sure one of them will be able to help you.

  • Problems with AMD-K7 boards supporting USB

    Hi folks,
I have a broadband connection via a USB modem that keeps cutting out. I have to reboot my computer to get it to connect again. I have all most recent drivers and no hardware conflicts or errors reported.
Calling my ISP tech support they explained that there is a problem with WinXP Professional not properly supporting USB on AMD-K7 boards.
This info was confirmed by usbman.com who write that the best solution is to buy a USB card.
    (see http://www.usbman.com/winxpusbguide.htm#AMD%20756)
Can anyone tell me if this is correct and is there another way to get around this?
usbman.com's say in some cases to download some new EIDE drivers from AMD
    (see http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_2336~4512,00.html)
but the drivers refuse to install following the instructions from AMD.
I'm desperate - if anyone knows how to get round this problem, please help!!!

oh my gosh! I can't believe! you have to be a kind of magician, your PSU it's the weakest that I ever seen!    5a it's extremely low! I don´t how did it works now, even at the lower speed, please try another PSU ASAP! at least 400 watts,   and on the 12v rail at least 18a (at least, I mean minimal).

I have a Jetdirect 175X J6035A Print Server, to remove the USB I have to remove the case and lift 2 small prongs that lock the USB Cable into the holes in the USB Plug. Was wondering what the name of this feature is and if there is an easier recommended way to release the cable. Thank you.

  • Boot USB from grub

I have a machine that doesnt support booting directly from a USB key, but i would like to boot the arch live USB key to install arch on my system. The machine is currently running ubuntu, and has grub set. I was wondering how i could get the grub on my system to load the usb key. Either by chainloading grub, or directly.
    thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "chainloading grub" but booting is a sequence process usually determined at the BIOS level, therefore, if your bios does not support USB boot you cannot really "boot" from  a USB...
I suppose you could do some sort of daisy-chain using grub to go from you HDD to your USB but ... that would be ultimately impractical since you would be forced to have the USB always plugged in in order to boot that system.
