No surround mixer support for Audigy 4

I have spent about 3 hours trying to find ways to get surrond mixer to work, and i dont have the cd. It looks like creative didnt even put any support on their downloads for managing speaker channels. Which makes the card useless for people who want SURROUND SOUND! Am I the only person have problems, i check all the downloads and there is no surround mixer to my knowledge, why is this so?

  • Logic 7 surround mixing - workaround for busses?

I'm mixing six pieces of music in Logic 7, and finding the lack of surround formatted busses / auxes / plugs are real pain in the ***. No time to install the copy of Logic 8 that is sat on my desk unfortunately - this stuff has to go out the door on Tuesday.
Has anyone any workarounds or bodges for getting reverb and other effects to work in LP7? Any pointers most gratefully received!

  • Surround sound support for new MB aluminum?

    Hello, so here's the deal:
I've been looking at a few pairs of headphones that will be plugged in through the USB port and there's a pair that supports 5.1 surround sound and a pair that supports 7.1 (both have 8 speakers built into the headphones).
Does anyone know what kind of surround sound support the new macbook aluminum has, if any?
The deal is that the headphones feature amps (it goes: usb -> amp -> control pod -> headphones), so technically it doesn't require drivers from the Mac into order to get it working, but I don't believe that it will work without the correct digital audio output from the Macbook itself.
Any help on this issue would make me grateful.
PS: if there is either more or less support on the Windows side (via bootcamp) I would love to know that too, because in my switch to Mac, I noticed that it really doesn't have any dedicated control of the sound drivers, whereas Windows XP does.
    Thanks in advance.

Ironically there's apparently a bug that forces all my flash videos to be remixed into 5.1 surround. VERY annoying because now even at hte lowest volume levels it's super loud...

  • Issues with mixer etc for Audigy SE in Windows 7 64bit

My system is currently Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and I have just installed the SB Audigy SE PCI card.
I have uninstalled the onboard sound software and disabled the onboard sound in the BIOS.
I have disabled all audio devices showing in the sound/playback devices.
I am hearing audio fine on the system but there are issues I would like to try and resolve. When I attempt to launch the applet to control the mixer, select speaker config etc I receive an error stating that the hardware that the application supports is not found.
I have downloaded the latest software and run the auto update to be sure that this is the case. I have attempted to run the applets from the installed folders to see if that would help. I have set admin privledges for the applets and even attempted to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3. None of this hel
    ps.
I have searched the forums and found several threads that list the error, but the posts I found were either not for this card/windows version or not answered. All of the threads found were at least several months old. I am familiar with working in the BIOS, working in the registry and with hardware troubleshooting.
I would like to get these working as the sounds are not quite to my liking with the current config. I do not do any audio editing, but I use my system extensi'vely for audio playback and for gaming.
    Thank you in advance.

    here, it's the application which i boxed in green;
    http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/2382/unledign.jpg?
please note the requirements which tells that application(BasicAudio Suite) doesnt supports win7 either 32/64bit.
trust me, i tried that with my XP SP3 and it game me troubles either. by reverting my XP SP2 made it work cuz it tells supports only XP SP2.
we need that application so that we can tweak more with the audio like; equalizer, diffrent soundfields etc... yeah, there was a big difference when we can tweak it more specially with the equalizers. better bass, treble and everything.
so there's no way we can fix/access that when we are into win 7, Alchemy has nothing to do with it btw... i have it either.
for now our tweaking would be limited with this; ( Creative Audio Control Panel which you could find at the Start menu button)

adjust that slider according to your liking, mostly it just adds/reduce the echoes with the audio as far i had observed.

  • Windows Professional x64 Support for Audigy 2 ZS Video Edi

Is there some reason why the Video Editor isn't x64 compatible yet?

For Video Blaster Editor ... we are currently taking steps to insure it runs under 32-bit Vista.
Regarding Vista and Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor ... here are some tips from another user. [I am going to answer every query on this thread with these instructions ... so you'll be sure to see them quite a bit]:
I have used the follwoing procedure to install a working configuration of the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor in a clean install of Vista Ultimate.
() Download from Creative Labs (US) site: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ the following files:
    (a) Creative Sound Blaster USB Series Windows Vista Driver .00.0060 - USBVS_PCDRV_LB__00_0060.exe (from the Vista section)
    (b) VidCap for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor .00.000 - A2VX_PCVDE_L9__00_000.exe (from the WinXP section)
    (2) Use WinZip or WinRAR to open the file (b) and extract the folders \DrvInst and \Vidcap into your Vista Downloads folder.
    (3) Connect the Video Editor to the power supply and a video source; connect the USB cable to your PC. Ignore the "Found NEw Hardware" dialog that pops up.
    (4) Doubleclick on file (a) to install the Creative Sound Blaster USB Series Windows Vista Driver, and follow prompts as required; accept all defaults. After install is complete, let the PC reboot.
    (5) After rebooting, in the "Found New Hardware" dialog that appears, select the options to search for a driver, don't go online to search, browse for a driver and point the search at the \DrvInst folder you extracted in (2) above. The USB video driver will be installed from the \DrvInst\Video\Driver\Win2k.
    (6) After the video driver is installed, doubleclick on the Setup.exe file in the \Vidcap folder you extracted in (2) above to install the Vidcap application.
    (7) Setup the options in Vidcap, and run a test recording.
    Happy capturing under Vista.

  • No EAX etctera for Audigy, ever, in Vis

So, on this Direct Sound issue: Word is that the rich, well heeled X-Fi owners will get an EAX etcetara solution, but those of us humble Audigy owners are going to be left out to dry?
    Can anyone clear this up?
I suggest we all write letters and emails, and make telephone calls to Creative to get them to understand that this isn't acceptable treatment. They are still selling this product line in retail, so they have a responsibility to us to fully develop for it. Do they want us to loose confidence in future investments?
Guys, join me in writing Creative.
I applaud them for providing us a forum, but customer support is lacking, and the rumors that they won't support Audigy products properly in Vista, EVER, is unacceptable. I didn't write this thread to B*** and moan. I am posting to encourage all of you to write thoughtful letters to this company to get them to wake up and be responsible.
I don't care so much that they aren't yet ready, even if they HAVE ALREADY HAD 2 whole years to prepare, what I care about is that they won't even bother to try. That isn't right. Let's all contact them by letter and phone, and, in a calm but asserti've way, let them know we demand better from them.
My next card will NOT be a Creative if they don't do this.
I am sorry, Katherina, I don't want to come off as a trouble maker, the sole purpose of this post is to encourage others to do something about this, not just sit around and moan.

Fair enough, Catherina, and I discovered this stuff AFTER posting here, but it certainly doesn't fully address the issue: Your folks won't commit to development of Alchemy for Audigy, if you would just do that: Commit to promise to develop it for us poor folks, and not take a year to do it, then I would be quiet.
I am unhappy with MS, in fact, I found this video where the guys admit to rushing things out incomplete:
    http://channel9.msdn.com/Showpost.aspx?postid=45665
So I realize the truly evil party here is Bill Gates and company, but remember: Your company is STILL advertising these capabilities with NO CAVEAT EMPTOR noted on your product pages that these things don't, and may NEVER work in Vista. You simply sell that we can all have the stuff like EAX, so people go out and buy thinking that is what they will get when it is exactly NOT true, and that is wrong. The very least you should do is warn people and even suggest that they protest to MS.
I want to see your bosses commit to making Alchemy support for Audigy products, including the NX and 2 ZS. You owe it to your consumers to hang in there for us. And we deserve more up front notification. Lack of communication is the second largest reasons for marriage failure (money fighting is the first), just communicate to us and commit to something that is only fair to. After all, the product is still on the shelves and on your retail site here.
I still suggest everyone write Creative. Don't be super ugly with them, but be asserti've.
BTW, Catherina, thank you for being here and working with us, I know you have a thankless job, so may God and the Heavens open up and bless you.

  • Graphic EQ/Surround Mixer/Soundfont Manager for Audigy 4

When I originally got my Audigy 4 SE OEM version, I downloaded the driver and software for it from this website. The cd that came with it had only the driver, and I figured the site would have a more up-to-date version of that anyway. The package I downloaded included the driver, the soundfont bank manager, the surround mixer, the graphic equalizer, and other useful bits of software.
I recently reinstalled Windows, and when I re-downloaded the driver package, I discovered it now comes with only the driver itself and the Creative audio console. I searched the forums looking for others asking the same question, but only found people linking to ISOs of the install cds, and the only one that was for Audigy 4 wouldn't install for me. I'd like to know where I can find the full package, and also, why has all this software disappeared from the downloads section of this site?

you can try here but I don't know if it has the CD for your card.

  • Surround Mixer for Audigy and Windows 7?

    Hello,
I've just installed Windows 7 and I see that the old XP Surround Mixer is no longer working.
    I know that?Windows has a sound?mixer, but it is?really annoying and incomplete.
Is there a functional Creative Surround Mixer that I can use with Windows 7?

I would like answers to your question also. Since re-installing, & losing surround mixer, I have sacrificed?most functions with regards to 5./7. sound. As you say, Window's own software is sub-standard when using the card. I love the Audigy2 ZS Platinum and want to get it up and running to its full glorious potential.
?PLEASE PLEASE CREATIVE?PROVIDE US WINDOWS 7 USERS WITH A NEW UPDATED?VERSION OR A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE.
    Yours in anticipation

  • Audigy 2 ZS and Surround Mixer in Windows 7

    +?
Ok, I just installed Windows 7 Enterprise on a new HP XW 4600 workstation (NL, Dutch). This is a clean install. I have a Audigy 2 ZS (SB0350) and I dont have the surround mixer. Here is what I did:
?Install Windows 7 Enterprise and take all the pathes from Microsoft.
    2.
?Intall the Audigy 2 ZS soundblaster? card in the computer
    3.
?After the boot up I ingnore the message ?found new hardware?
    4.
?I go to the Creative website and download the following programs
SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_00 and WAVESTD_PCAPP_LB_7_2_00? which are recommended for my sound card.
    5.
?I cant find the surround mixer, it is even not installed
    6.
?I try the ?webupdate? there are some updates and I install them all
    7.
    ?Again no Surround Mixer.
Can someone explain what I do or did wrong ?
I realy need the Surround Mixer !!

/Re: Audigy 2 ZS and Surround Mixer in Windows 7? i got problem with recording any sound. Recorded sounds are terrible. Sometimes playing sounds are terrible too. i should restart pc for fix playing terrible sound.
    i found 2 third-party driver but i didnt tried. Because of decription of 3rd-party driver ;
There is no DirectSound hardware acceleration on Windows XP 64-bit (x64)
The Audigy driver does not support 64-bit addressing, disabling the DirectSound hardware acceleration and causing multichannel sound to be played only in the stereo channels (front left/right).
    Workarounds:
    - install the 32-bit (x86) version of Windows XP.
    - limit to less than 4GB the amount of RAM available to Windows.
    - enable the ?Memory Hole? setting in the BIOS Setup, if your motherboard supports it.
Microphone issues on Windows 7/Vista 64-bit (x64) with 4GB?of RAM or more
Audigy driver does not support 64-bit addressing, resulting in random issues with the Microphone (static, robotic or distorted voice, white noise).
    Workarounds:
    - install the 32-bit (x86) version of Windows
    - limit the RAM available to Windows to less than 4GB
    - enable Memore Hole in BIOS Setup, if?your motherboard supports the setting

  • No longer able to select speaker type in Surround Mixer (Audigy Platinum Win XP P

Hi, all. I have an Audigy Platinum. Normally I have no issues using my 5. speakers with this card; however, today I noticed my sound was "tinny" and the reason is that the surround mixer is locked on Headphones. I cannot click the arrow to change it to 5. surround or anything else for that matter. I've gone into Control Panel and unchecked the mute other speakers when headphones are plugged in option, but that hasn't seemed to help. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. That did the trick.

  • Live!Surround speaker setting not showing in surround mixer for SB Live Platinum

the Li've!Surround option for speaker settings in not showing in my Surround Mixer
    i have:
    Windows 2000 sp4
    SB Li've! Platinum 5.
    ASUS CUSL2
    Sound Blaster Li've! - Li'veDrvUni-Pack (English) SBLW-XPWEB-W4-US 28-Feb-03
Installed the speaker preset for li've!surround but the only headphone, 2 speaker, 4 speaker, and 5. speaker shows up on speaker configuration of the Surround Mixer
i've played the AC3 files on the cdrom and Dolby pro logic surround, I get sound from all fi've speakers on my Denon D-850 w/ Dolby surround pro-logic
I can't use the surround mixer to test all the speakers, only front left and right speakers work on the test, i have to open to wav files directly to test the center speaker, the rear speaker test doesn't work from the wav file
My Denon system only has analog stereo inputs, so this is my only option for letting Sound Blaster know I have 5 speakers.
I've uninstalled all SB Li've software and drivers from the unipack, and reinstalled the orignal drivers and apps from the CD-ROM SBP5-CDSD-W-US MID : 32680 5-Sep-2000 and the Li've!Surround speaker setting reappears in the Surround Mixer.
Is the Li've!Surround setting no longer available in the new Surround Mixer in Li'veDrvUni-Pack (English) SBLW-XPWEB-W4-US 28-Feb-03 ?

it seems Li've Surround is no longer supported in the new drivers
....so what would be the best setting to play ac3 files or DVD's through my receiver with only 2 analog inputs (left and right) available w/ Dolby surround prologic. Should I set it to 2 speaker or 4 speaker setting in the Surround Mixer in order to send the best signal to the prologic decoder on my receiver with 5 speakers (2 front, center, 2 rear)

  • Audigy 2 ZS - Surround Mixer - REC setting greyed

Hi! I can't select my sound input device in the surround mixer anymore. Here is a picture:
    <img alt="mixer" width="500" src="http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/09/mixeriq.jpg" height="302" title="mixer">
As you can see the slider is greyed out. My microphone works just fine, but I cannot adjust the volume anymore.
I'm using Windows XP, I recently installed Skype and TeamSpeak (checked both programs, the input settings are NOT on "automatic", so the Creative Surround Mixer should be where I adjust the input volume)
I can use the windows settings to select another recording device and adjusting the volume also works, but I want to use the creative mixer, this worked in the past and I want it back
Any ideas? Maybe I'm missing something important.

Hmm no but I reinstalled the latest driver (7 Jul 08)
