No symbol for tools.

My tools suddenly stopped displaying the relevant symbol (circle for the brush, etc.) whenever I move it to cover the photo I want to manipulate. Photoshop 8 used to do the same thing.

What operating system and version of photoshop elements are you using?
When you first select say the Brush Tool you see a crosshair cursor instead of the usual circle?
Did you check to see if your Caps Lock is on?

How to get debugging symbols for libGL.so.1 library? (nvidia-utils)

Will see, I am getting many crashes of applications in KDE. In the majority of these accidents I get a backtrace from KBugbuster (or whatever that application is called) that includes the library libGL.so.1. Here a small example:

I know libGL.so.1 is a library included into nvidia-utils package becouse:
$ pacman -Ql | grep /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
nvidia-utils /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
I downloaded the PKGBUILD for nvidia-utils through abs and I changed it a bit by adding the !strip flag at the option field:
options=('!strip')
But it did not work. Today, still, I don't have debugging symbols for libGL.so.1. I have corroborated this using nm command:
$ nm -a /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
nm: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1: no symbols
Watching the PKGBUILD for nvidia-utils I see this is not a build, apparently it only download the files and put them in the appropriate places. I think this is why the flag !strip does not work in this case.
So I have looked for information at the official nvidia site for compiling libGL.so.1 by myself but only appears complex information for developers not for a end user like me.
Can anyone guide me or something with this? please.

As you need read-only access to the SBO database, you could use a straight database connection. You could maybe use the following Microsoft php extension:

The Web Service wrapper for the DI Server is a good solution if you want to be able to write data back to SBO. Please note the DI Server requires additional licensing from SAP.
You don't mention what database platform is used by your e-shop site. An alternative approach would be to use an integration tool (something like Pentaho) to pull or push data between the e-shop database and the SBO database (again, this is only possible for reading data from SBO not writing).

"Undefined symbols for architecture" when building Universal Binaries

The build I'm doing works fine when specifying either i386 or x86_64 or ppc *by itself*, however whenever I try to combine the archs to make a UB, I get problems building libraries. I'm using an existing makefile system as this needs to be portable across many platforms. Any ideas?

OK, solved the problem. AR requires the -s flag when building UBs:
If you are building for multiple arches then you should pass ar the -s
flag (as Rainer said) to ar to ensure that the table of contents is
created. As you can see from the ar sources it calls ranlib -q normally,
and ranlib -f if it saw the -s flag. Ranlib -q will "Do nothing if a
universal file would be created." whereas ranlib -f will create the fat
archive.

Some fonts (Symbol, for ex.) do not render

When I set the font of some text to some fonts like Symbol, or Apple Symbols, for example, the text is not rendered using these fonts. Instead it looks like the default Helvetica font is used.
The Symbol and Apple Symbols fonts I have on my system are the default Apple-installed fonts (I can see that in Font book).
I have the same problem in Pages.
More generally, is there some issue in iWork that prevents the application from using certain fonts? How can I tell?

I'm having a similar problem in Pages.
When I try to customize the bullets using other dingbat fonts (GoodDogBones, Charms BV, Eller, and so forth), the character that appears in the bullet box is rendered in a unicode font (Lucida Grande).
In other words, what I pasted, a coffee cup in Eller that appears when I type an "e," shows up in the bullet customizer as an "e" in Lucida Grande.
What I can't figure out is how to get these other dingbat fonts to show up in the Character Palette. I drag them to my "Favorites" in the Font dialog box, but nothing happen in the Character Palette. (All my fonts are in MacintoshHD/System/Library/Fonts so they're active for all users of the computer.)
So I guess my question is this: How do I add fonts to the Character Palette?!?

Text (T) symbol for field kostl not found in adhoc query selection

Dear Freinds,
We have developed a custom infotype , as per our requirement one of the field i have added is the Kostl field ( this i have created exactly the same way in infotype 0001).
I have to devlop a report using ADHOC Query based on this custom infotype , so i have developed a adhoc report ( selecting the logical database PNPCE option as it is not allowing for PNP), when i selecting the required feilds from the Custom infotype i can see for the field KOSTL field doesnt have the symbol(T) against the field . However for another ADHOC report when i am selecting from the infotype 0001 i can see the T symbol for the KOSTL . So i went and check in the custom type structur and transparent table as well , the search help etc is exactly same as that of the which are there for this field in the standard infotype 0001(Kostl). Because i have to display the description of the cost centre along with the kostl field , howeve iam able to get for Pernr descirption , for pernr iam able to see the T symbol against the field Pernr.
Please could any one guide why this field doesnt have the symbol T.

Why don't you the same data element of the KOSTL.
Eventhough you created your own infotype you can still use the stanadard data element.
If you use the standard datatype you will get those feature avalable

Mouse4/Mouse5 for tools in photoshop cs5

Im using a logitech mx510 and would like to use the buttons on the side (mouse4/mouse5) as shortcuts for my move/brush tools. However, photohop says it only allows me to use A-Z on the keyboard for tool shortcuts. Is there anyways around this?
What I REALLY want is to be able to select a layer just by clicking it in the comp. Right now I have to ctrl+opt+cmd-click in order for it to do that, and that only works when I have the move tool selected! It'd be nice if I could highlight the layer just by clicking it with mouse4 and then be on my way. I couldn't find any shortcut in the keyboard preferences menu that functions like that but would love to know if this is possible, thank you!
Another thing I've been curious about is whether or not its possible to make it so photoshops 'Save As' command can default to a certain type/folder? I work at a news station and I make about 30 graphics a day - all .pngs, all going in the same folder. It gets pretty old having to navigate to the right folder and change it to a png every time, and when I make it into an action it overwrites the previous file each time. Any ideas?

Your problem stems form upgrading CS5 to 10.7 without first checking, CS5 Photoshop has issues in 10.7, it's being rewritten and there is a CS6 Pre-release that works for 10.7.

GO back to Snow Kitty 10.6 for now on a DU Zero Erased drive under 50% filled, wait it out until CS6 and works on a new 10.8 machine released after this summer, make your hardware software RAM decision then, likely 15" or better.
10.7 is 64 bit like 10.8 will be, so little changes to 10.8 CS6 will be needed to work.

Change Icon (Symbols) for Alert in Analysis Item in BI 7 Web Templates

I want to change the Icons (Symbols) displayed for alerts in the Analysis Web Item. I want to choose between arrows and stop lights. I can define this in the Table Interface in BW 3.5. In BI7 you must use the Analysis Web Item SYMBOL but it is not documented how to choose different symbols for different reports.

Where do I choose the Icon Type? In the Query definition I can't see any option to select the Icon Type and in the WAD I can only see the options of Color, Symbol, Text and Symbol, Symbol and Text. This has no influence in the Icon Type or does it?
I am getting Arrow icons in the output and I am trying to get Traffic light icons.
Can you tell me where the Icon Type is available for selection?

Due Date symbol for Spl GL Transactions

Hi Everybody,
Need one help regarding Down payment entries with Spl GL Indicators. We have created 3 Spl GL indicators (1 - local vendors / 2 - imports vendors / 3 - capital vendors).
When we are posting payment entries using these Spl GL indicators, for Spl GL indictor 1, Net Due Date symbol is not getting captured. It is blank. However, for Spl GL indicators 2 & 3, it is getting captured.
I have checked these Spl GL indicators for any data mismtach. There is no mismatch. All are having the same data. I need to have the Net Due Date symbol for Spl GL 1 also.
Can somebody help on this.

This field ins contained in standard dynpro:SAPMF05A 304 and hence it is not possible to display payment due date and other fields like payment terms in down payments with special GLs indicator, The reason being that the terms of payment not only control the due date but also the cash discount terms. Hence it is not feasible to display terms of payment/due date in Down payments. DP forms part of balance sheet and hence it is not system design to display payment terms with special GL indicator, Hope it will help you.

Hi,
In my understand String.format standard function will support JDK1.5 onwards. Lower version will not support. So,check in your jdk version before use that standard function.
So another way use this code,
UDF header like this,
Public String <udf name>(String a, Container container))
Inside UDF put this code:
int strLen = a.length();
for(int i=strLen;i<12;i++)
a = a + " ";
return "~" + a + "~";
Note: . Example: in this code field length is using 12. becaz we mentioned that loop i<12. If what you need put it instead of 12.

Can i adjust pressure sensitivity options for tools other then paint brush?

Greetings all, i'm new to Photoshop elements and this forum, could someone help me with this problem please!!!!!!
Is there a way to adjust the pressure sensitve options opacity, scatter, hue jitter e.t.c for tools other then the paint brush such as the dodge and burn tool?
I'm wanting to use the dodge and burn tools with say a chalk brush but set the pressure sensitivity of my tablet to opacity, i can do this for the paint brush by using the tablet options drop down menu but the option doesn't seem to be avaiable for tools such as the eraser, dodge and burn and smudge tools.
I've tryed the brushes from the Pressure Sensitive set but there is no chalk brush in the Pressure Sensitive brush set that effects opacity and you can't adjust what settings are effected for each pressure sensitive brush when using tools other then the Paint Brush.
Can anyone help me with this as i've tryed everything i can think of.

I guess the easiest way would be to select the paint brush tool
and using the brush of your choice, set those options you want
and save the brush.
Then when you select a tool such as the burn tool, select your brush.
The one option that won't apply is the hue jitter (you can't use hue jitter or
color dynamics in the full version of photoshop either for most other tools
aside from the brush tool)

Background here may be relevant: The place I am working is currently using ai CS 3 & 5 and the files in question are converted Freehand files. I have never been a Freehand user, but apparently you were able to swap one shape for another in Freehand. The closest Illustrator equivalent that I am aware of is the symbols panel. I know how to swap one symbol for another, how to create a symbol from a piece of vector art and how to modify a symbol. What I am trying to do is convert several instances of the same object into several instances of the same symbol without having to replace hundreds of objects manually (ie. trying to get the right placement in a grid and everything).
Is there any efficient solution to the task I have in Illustrator CS 3 or CS 5?

No Reporting Symbol for the cube.

no reporting symbol for an cube.
I created Z cube without any aggregates and loaded data sucessfuly QM status is green but i'm not able to see the reporting symbol next the request id. When i checked in manage content data, data is available for the fact but not for any dimension table.
Please go through the following when we did the diagnosis.
Diagnosis
    There is an inconsistency between the load status of the data and the
    option of reporting on this data.
    There is data in the InfoProvider that is OK from a quality point of
    view, but is not yet displayed in reporting.
    The problem, for example, is to do with request 0000003343, number
    REQU_44ROL5YBBCJMDL5HQ8TVBAER6.
Procedure
    Choose Refresh to remove the inconsistency.
As per the procedure we did but went to short dump
UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
CX_SDB_ORA_PROGRAM_ERROR
Highly appreciable if any one could resolve our issues.

What is your BW version. If it is BI 7.0 then check these OSS Notes:
975948 No update statistics for newly created tables
998904 Statistics check shows red or yellow traffic lights
If it BW 3.X version then run the RSRV check for the cube.
