No Synchronization button / DM4.5/Vista

Hi everyone,
I am trying to help two customers who have Vista laptops (we supplied) and RED Blackbarry 8100's from Vodafone New Zealand.
Basically they could sync fine for the first 6 weeks then everything stopped.
I've downloaded and install DM4.5 and trying to configure it's sync settings, but it refuses to let me change the settings;
Synchronize / Configuration / Synchronize - the SYNCHRONIZE button is un-available!!
I've only managed to get it once and that was okay, everything configured okay, but I didn't realise the issue was in the synching configuration (now I do, and I can't change the settings).
I've even installed the DM4.5 on a fresh Vista PC that's never seen a BB before, and I still cannot access that button to change the settings.
I've install the software as Administrator also, and I've deleted the BB-associates folders till I'm blue in the face and now just totally lost and wondering what the big secret is with BB's and their sync software.
If anyone can help??? The sad thing is Vodafone NZ have just given these two the total run-around and don't seem to care.

Try to perform a clean uninstall of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, then set it up, running the program as administrator, and by this I mean right click the launch icon and select run as administrator - being logged in as admin isn't enough.
**Edit... I just re-read your post.... do you mean u can click the synchronize button, then click the synchronization item on the left, then the synchronization button on the right hand side is greyed out? The BlackBerry has to be plugged in and detected by the Desktop Manager for this icon to be active.

According to the above you need to have "Sun Java System Messaging Server 7.0 (mandatory for creation of a new profile)" which will be provided by Comm-Suite-6. I have to admit I'm not sure why this is and I am pinging the support team about this.
When might we expect OC 7.3?It is being provided as part of Comm Suite 6. This was going to be released in a week but the release date has been pushed back for reasons I can't go into on a public forum. Let's just say we are looking at weeks and not months.

Ptp Synchronization on Windows

I am currently using software ptp synchronization to synchronize the time on several RT systems (PXI, cRIO, and RMC) I now need to sync a windows machine on the subnet. Is there a windows program that does ptp synchronization to an RT grandmaster?

the PTP sotfware options for Windows machines are very limited.

Windows XP, 2003, VISTA, Windows 7 (PTPv2 only)
Choices for PTP Slave software on Windows machines are very limited. Windows is not a real-time operating system and synchronization is dependent on the CPU and the operating system version. PTP Slave software is available from Greyware and is called Domain Time II. Your PTP Slave can be synchronized to within one millisecond of the Grandmaster (network topology dependent) using this software.

The biggest problem is that Widows OS itself is non-deterministic, maybe you should consider using Linux where the options are better.
For Linux you can use popular PTPd package for example, plus you can go for PREEMPT RT, that make you Linux more deterministic.
But everything depends on your application

Mighty Mouse (wired) Button Config in Vista

Is there a comparable configuration application in Vista for configuring button actions on the mighty mouse? The windows control panel sees the mighty mouse but does not allow it to configure the side buttons or change the default action of the scroll ball. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

It isn't likely that there is an alternative available for the Mighty Mouse in Vista. This is because the buttons on the Mighty Mouse are optimized for use in Mac OS X, not Windows. The drivers and stuff that allow the Mighty Mouse to work in Windows are not the same as in OS X, and lack the driver support for the special buttons. I would recommend buying a "Certified for Vista" mouse if you want special features like that in Vista. If you're using Boot Camp on a Mac, I would recommend having a Mighty Mouse for Mac OS X and a Vista Certified mouse from Microsoft or Logitech for Vista.

Program error during synchronization with Outlook

the synchronization of my new Curve 9300 with PC/Outlook does not work. Always the same failure-message occurs:
In Line 140 in ./Error.cpp is a program failure. Please send a protocoll to the technical support to report this failure (german orginal message: In zeile 140 in ./Error.cpp ist ein Programmfehler aufgetreten. Senden Sie ein Protokoll an den technischen Support, um diesen Fehler zu melden).

Precise synchronization

Dear Friends,
Now I am programming a DAQ system basically using a while loop. I used the "i" in the loop to count and the TDMS technique to record data(1D array). When I pressed the "stop" button, the number of data arrays were always one larger than the count. I guess when the count stopped, the one more data array were writen into the file, I don't know why? And how can the precise synchronization be realized ? Here I show a picture of framwork of the main VI ,maybe it help to understand what i mean. I am sorry that the source code cannot be issued.
So ,please help me if you have any idea.

So if i reads, say, 4 I would expect the loop to have executed 4+1=5 times, so 5 acquisitions.

Blackberry Tour Synchronization problem

I am new to this forum and have checked past posts but do not see this problem. I have a Tour 9630 and a couple weeks ago I lost all my info on the BB when I tried a few times to enter my password and it failed. I was able to restore everything and all seemed fine but now when I try to sync my device to the computer everything syncs except the contacts and calendar do not sync from the BB to the computer. All information syncs from the computer to the device.
I am using Outlook 2007 and only sync my calendar, contacts, notes and tasks. My email is not through OUtlook. The desktop manager is v5.0.1. Can anyone help? Thanks!!

There are some optoins you can set for which direction to allow the synchronization. Attempt the following:
1) Within BlackBerry Desktop Manager, click on Synchronize
2) Under Configure, click on Synchronization and then click on the Synchronization button on the right hand side.
3) Highligh the application you are synch'ing
4) Click on Setup and choose the application its synch'ing to.
5) You will now have the ability to choose Direction of Synchronization.

I am curious why Apple released a trackpad driver update, which enables right button in Windows (BootCamp), but for all models EXCEPT my 17'' Mac Book Pro?

Since it is 2008 year update, it seems no more updates will be released. Why Apple ignores the users of 17'' MBP unibody?

for starters, the 17" unibody came out AFTER the update, so it should already have the software update.
second, right click has to be turned on via the Boot Camp utility in Vista.
& third, you should be posting in the unibody forum.

Wireless Synchronization in Desktop contact list properties is by default showing "Not Available", Not able to change also

In my Blackberry 8520 - Curve model, Wireless Synchronization in Desktop contact list properties (Go to Contacts, select options, select Desktop) is by default showing "Not Available" and not allowing to change also. My other colleagues are having the options.
My basic issue is that Outlook contact details are not getting syncronized with Blackberry. I believe this is the root cause for the same. Please guide to resolve the issue.

Are you setup on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server? With the Desktop service book appearing it seems you were on one. If you are still on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, I would suggest creating a full backup with BlackBerry Desktop Software: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB33505
Then proceed with a security wipe by going to Options>Security>Security Wipe and then contact your network service provider to generate a new Enterprise Activation password. Then proceed with the enterprise activation by going to Options>Advanced Options>Enterprise Activation.
Once the activation is completed, test out the wireless synchronization of the contacts.

Problem with Gmail synchronization

I have both my work email configured via BES service and my private Gmail account on my Bold 9700.
Recently I noticed that when I delete emails on the 9700 it reflects almost immediately both on Gmail web interface and both in my Outlook. However, if I delete emails from either the web or Outlook there are no changes on the device.
I opened a case with my mobile provider and they did some tests on several devices on their side and also told me to delete and re-configure my Gmail account. They also configured my Gmail account on their devices, All these confirmed that there is a problem.
After a few days they called back and told me that there is nothing wrong with the service and that the synchronization from Outlook/Web with the device happen after several hours. They also stated that according to RIM's documentation this is how it should work.
Well, if it's true don't you find it quite troubling?
What annoys me the most that I'm sure that when I first configured Gmail on my device the sync was much more frequent.
The support team also mentioned something about BIS upgrade and that that's how RIM decided to implement IMAP4.
Is that true?
Did anybody experience what I mentioned as well?

Clock synchronization of a NI-6111 with a NI-6602

Hello,
We are trying to synchronize two boards. One is a NI-6602 and the other one is NI-6111. We have already synchronized both devices using the OUT signal from the 6603 (PFI32) and routing it to RTSI_5. Now we would like to synchronize both onboard clocks. We were able to route the 20MHz clock of the 6602 to RTSI_7 using a DaqMX subVI but when we attempted to read that signal with the NI-6111 using the VI AI clock config, it is not allowing to us to configure the clock source in that VI as RTSI_7. Any ideas?

It appears that you're using DAQmx with the NI-6602 device, but the Traditional DAQ driver (since you're using the AI Clock Config VI) with NI-6111. Is this correct? If so, is there a reason why you're doing so since both boards support DAQmx?
Each device can use one driver at a time. If you're using AI Clock Config, and right click the "Clock Source" and choose Create >> Constant, you should be able to choose "RTSI Connection", and indicate the RTSI pin number. However, unless you have a specific reason, I would recommend using DAQmx for both boards. You can consider LabVIEW shipping examples such as "Multi-Device Synch-Analog Input-Cont Acquisition.vi" as a starting point.

Many times, when auxButton = blue, for example, the loop carry on and auxButton = red before the taskPerformer with the blue button finishes. I need that the taskPerformer finishes before some new button acess it.

Incorrect task due dates after synchronization

My device: Curve 8900. TMobile. Blackberry desktop manager software v5.0.1. Windows VISTA. Outlook 2003, SP3.
Sorry, not sure of the exact mechanics of what happens, but I know that after synchronizing my Curve with Outlook, or perhaps it takes multiple synchs, some tasks end up with bizarre due or start dates in Outlook, but typically not in the device. Normally, I don't enter a start date, only a due date and/or a reminder, as appropriate for that task. Sometimes I leave none for all the dates. One task I initially created over a year ago, but leave active as a reminder, now has 9/1/2155 for the due and start dates, even though I could have sworn I recently set those dates to none in Outlook, and subsequently synched outlook w/ the device.
Another task has a due date of 10/11/1969 in Outlook, and none in the device.
Has anyone else experienced this or similar problems? If so, I would appreciate hearing about any possible solutions.

Synchronization of PCI devieces via the RTSI bus using the measurement studio for Viusual Basic 6

Hi everyone,
I would like to synchronize a NI 4474 A/D card with a NI 6733 D/A card via the RTSI bus. Is there any way of sharing the timebase using the measurement studio for VB 6.0? It seems like it could be possible using the traditional NI-DAQ .DLL but I would prefer to do it with the ActiveX API.
I am quite desperate, since all my attempts to use the CWDAQTools1.RouteSignal and CWDAQTools1.RouteRTSI command failed miserably :-(

Unfortunately it doesn't really work... I cannot use the DI options since my A/D card (NI 4474) does not support DI/DO... When using the other option (CWDAQTools1.RouteRTSI) I keep getting an error message that this command is inapropriate for my device (even though it does have a RTSI bus and allegedly it also supports time sharing...)

"Batch Synchronization" in Parallel Model

Hi,
I'm working on a project with up to 15 UUTs which are supposed to be running using the parallel model, since they have to be able to start and stop separately.
There are conditions in which all active UUTs are paused and restarted upon request. Communication with the UUTs is established using a single demon. Now I need a synchronization method, to make sure only one thread runs the daemons initialization. Just like a batch synchronization using the "One Thread Only" option.
The Batch steps do not work in the Parallel Model so is there a best practice establish a synchronization like this? I have some ideas, but I guess I'm thinking too complicated and can't see the wood for trees....
