No T-Code in SAP can damage your data, all t-code has initial screens?

As per my understanding there is no SAP standard t-code in SAP which can damage SAP or data in database when you run from SAPGUI (do not execute once you are in t-code). What's your thinking?

There is a tcode which blows your asset accounting customizing away, even if the client is closed. It has a selection screen with default test_mode = 'X'.
However, a typo could execute a parameter transaction for it with test_mode = ' ' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN !
At least it makes an authority-check now, but I still won't mention the name because I know you all have SAP_ALL ...

  • Is it true that new Facebook update can drain your data if you leave video On setting

Let me make myself a little clearer. on your iphone under settings you can find the facebook settings page. if you click on settings under logo you will see chat box. video box, and notifications. I was told that the new update from Fcebook automatically sets itself up as On which will run all the time and eat up your celluar date. Is this true? so you must switch it to wi-fi only to save your data.

Yes, but not half off. If you bring your older iPod into your local Apple store, you'll get a 10% discount towards the purchase of a newer model.

  • When going to add the free download Firefox to my Laptop it comes up when I am about to download this is an insecure site and can damage your computer. Please advise

I have purchased a Laptop running windows 7 and deceided to install Mozilla Firefox when I went into Download the Free version which is Windows (6.0.1, English (US) an warning comes up at the bottom
Do you want to run or save Firefox Setup 6.0.10exe (13.3 MB) from mozilla.snt.utwente.nl?
Then a warning sign comes up and says This type of file could harm your computer. Please can you advise as I also have this on my Desktop

That new Firefox version should be 6.0.1 not 6.0.10.
That is most likely being caused by a recently discovered problem where SSL security certificates from an issuer in the Netherlands were found to be invalid. Firefox (and other browser developers) is currently taking measures to protect its users against the fraudulent certificates (your link mozilla.snt.utwente.nl is located in the Netherlands). Try your download again and hopefully you will be directed to one of the other download mirrors around the planet.

  • HT4865 How can you use find my iphone or find my friends on a ipod for a kid (daughter) but restrict who can see your personal calenders on their device. I realize you can turn off icloud. If ipod is lost, others can get your data by turning on icloud

I just purchased an ipod for my daughter. Since she is only 7 y/o she cannot create an icloud account. Therefore, I had to use my apple ID to create an icloud account on her ipod.  I would like to have find my iphone and friend finder on her ipod for tracking purposes.  The only problem is that all of my personal calender, notes, reminders etc get transferred automatically to her ipod which I don't want.
I turned off the icloud calender, notes, reminders etc on her device so that my data doesn't get transferred to her device now. My biggest concern is that if she loses her ipod someone could turn the icloud function back on and automatically get my data.
Is there anyway to be able use the tracking features yet protect my icloud from being turned on by a thief?

Password locks, Restrictions password protected or not anyone who gets your iPod can restore it to Factory Settings/New iPod.  This will completely disable Find My iPhone so that the iPod can no longer be tracked.  It is not a good idea to not use the lock password, because if someone get your iPod they can see all of your contacts, calendar entries email, email passwords, etc.

  • How Can I tell if My iPod Touch Has a Screen problem?

Will it be pretty obvious, or is it just something that I wouldn't notice if I didn't watch a lot of dark videos?

From my knowledge of LCD is they are a back light technology that lets light through the LCD panel. When the display is supposed to be black on any part the LCD should simply block all light from getting through the LCD. That being the case, the screen that displays all your application is all black except the applications. If the LCD is defective the black area on this screen should look gray as well not just video you play. Since no one that I can recall in this forum has described the problem of the blacks not being black on the screen except in the video application, it sounds like a software problem either in the application or in the actual video itself. Does anyone see the problem in a photo??

  • Can't set date and time, stuck on that screen. Also don't have ANY apps at all.

Whats up Apple? My Apple TV is only a few months old. Can't set the date and time and now have ZERO apps. All that shows is the "Computer" and "Settings" after staring at that spinning wheel for an hour and finally clicking menu.

Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Also try restarting the router.
If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
If restoring from the Apple TV doesn't help, try restoring from iTunes using a USB cable.
If this is a new Apple TV, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.

  • I can change Image Date, but file now has 2 dates associated with it!

I have been able to successfully change the image date of the file using Timeature (I need to do this for a handful of images that have an incorrect date), as recommended elsewhere on the discussion board.
    What happens now is that:
    1. The metadata inspector shows the Image Date field as 9/1/02 12:00:00 PM PDT
(this is correct - I set it to be that date and time, so that is great)
    2. When I click on the "EXIF" button at the bottom of the inspector (which allows me to choose what fields appear in the metadata inspector), the Image Date field is 2/1/04 9:51 AM GMT
(this is the time the photo was taken, but it is what I am trying to change)
So I now seem to have 2 image dates associated with the file.
Any thoughts on how to "clear" the one I am trying to change?
    Thanks!

Yeah, and worse the date set by Timeature is not set in the EXIF data so if you try to export the version the date you set won't go with the JPG. Even worse, I'm pretty sure the export will have the original photo's EXIF date, if it had one. You can get export to put the version date in the file name with the right export options.
Export should really allow you to set the EXIF date on versions you export. One reason I bought Aperture was to be able to manage metadata so well that I wouldn't be beholden to it forever. Figured paying the big purchase price for Aperture was my ransom. We'll see in the next few versions if they fix this.
The two dates are 1) the date in the per-version metadata and 2) the EXIF date in the original JPG. It doesn't modify the EXIF date in the original because Aperture doesn't modify the original by convention. Not updating EXIF data in the original jpg is probably right (IF they would provide a way to export all the version meta data into EXIFs).
I've resorted to using some command line freeware jhead to set the EXIF dates before import for most of the stuff. You have to do that before the import though because once imported Aperture seems to ignore the EXIF date save for displaying it (to confuse you :-)).
Since I don't actually care that the original JPG is preserved for me it would be nice to have a utility that read the date out of the latest version meta data and set the EXIF date on the original. That would compliment Timeature (which I find really really tedious and slow).
Please correct me if I got this wrong!

I notice that Validifier turns the code into "Strict" HTML.
No it doesn't.  It  turns <embed> code (which was never sanctioned by the W3C) into VALID XHTML <object> code. Valid code passes W3C validation tests on either Strict or Transitional XHTML document types.
Shorter code is nice, but I like my W3C compliance.   That's why I collapse code on scripts, forms, and embeds.
Huh?   What?  Collapse is a DW code view option only.  It has no effect on published code.

  • S_ALR_87012357 report - Balance of all company codes

    Hi,
We are working on a SLO project. We have merged 5 clients systems into 1. totally we have 15 company codes in one client.
0001 company code is for Berlin and it is reflected in T001 table . the T000 table, country field is displaying New york.
I have executed the report S_ALR_87012357  for  0001 company code. i  did  select the   Balance of all company codes tab in the report.
so In the Header information, New york is being displayed for the Balance of all company codes from the T000 table (clients)  whereas it should have dispayed  Berlin in the header info .
can you please throw light on this.
    kind regards
    sap student

    Hi,
I noticed the same. It seems like it's standard for report RFUMSV00.
Header information for Output tax and Input tax is at company code level, then city from table T001 is displayed.
Balance of all company codes relates to all company codes in the client, then city is displayed from table T000, even if only one company code was entered at selection screen.
    Best regards,

  • How can I import data in to the digital word generator in Multisim?

How can I import data in to the digital word generator in Multisim?
I just  received this comment from a friend, a RADAR engineer, who has just down loaded Multisim.  He has been using HP/Agilent software.  He has a work around using a piecewise linear voltage waveform with data imported from Excel but this is not really a good solution.  It would also be helpful to import data from Mathcad or equivalent.
"I thought I was about to be impressed with MultiSim but it ended only in disappointment. There is a word generator in the simulation instrument panel which can drive the DAC with a waveform and it can have thousands of lines of values. I opened Excel, wrote the formula to generate the time and voltage points for a chirp, converted to DAC values in Hex and then went back to the word generator in MultiSim to load the values only to find that you have to enter each value manually. It doesn’t even allow you to paste in a list of values from a text file. I’m not going to type 5000 values by hand. If you get the chance to give feedback to National Instruments please ask them if the paste option can be added to the word generator. MultiSim is useful in many regards, but in this case, it left me with the impression that it is considerably limited in capability compared to what I’m used to."

    Hi,
You can load your data automatically in the Multisim word generator. Follow these steps:
    - Save your data file (in excel .xslx ir .csv format) on your computer
    - Change the extension of the file to ".dp"
    - Double-click the word generator in Multisim and click on Set...
    - In the Settings dialog box, click on Load and then Accept
    - This will prompt you to select the .dp file you have on your computer, select it and you're good to go
However, in Multisim you have the option of creating your own custom simulation analysis and instrument.
I will try creating the instrument and send it back to you but it might take some time.
Multisim and LabVIEW are very powerful in test automation, with the custom instruments you create for Multisim you don't need to export your data file into excel from LabVIEW (or MathCAD or other tools) and then reload it into Multisim. The test procedure is automated instead.
Please check this reference design about automated simulation
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7825
Here is how you can create your own custom measurement tool in Multisim and LabVIEW, but as I mentioned, I will create the word generator and come back to you anyways

The question is no longer if, but when you'll move your backup-and-recovery storage to the cloud.
As a genius IT pro, you know you can't afford to ignore cloud as a solution for your backup-and-recovery woes: exponential data growth, runaway costs, legacy systems that can't keep pace. Public or private clouds offer near-infinite scalability, deliver dramatic cost reductions and promise the unparalleled efficiency you need to compete in today's 24/7/365 marketplace.
Moreover, an ESG study found that backup and archive rank first among workloads enterprises are moving to the cloud.
Okay, fine. But as a prudent IT strategist, you demand airtight security and complete control over your data as well. Good thinking.
Hybrid Cloud Strategies Are the Future
Enterprises, large and small, are searching for the right blend of availability, security, and efficiency. The answer lies in achieving the perfect balance of on-premises, private cloud, and public services to match IT and business requirements.
To realize the full benefits of a hybrid cloud strategy for backup and recovery operations, you need to manage the dynamic nature of the environment— seamlessly connecting public and private clouds—so you can move your data where and when you want with complete freedom.
This begs the question of how to integrate these cloud resources into your existing environment. It's a daunting task. And, it's been a roadblock for companies seeking a simple, seamless, and secure entry point to cloud—until now.
Enter the Game Changer: NetApp AltaVault
NetApp® AltaVault® (formerly SteelStore) cloud-integrated storage is a genuine game changer. It's an enterprise-class appliance that lets you leverage public and private clouds with security and efficiency as part of your backup and recovery strategy.
AltaVault integrates seamlessly with your existing backup software. It compresses, deduplicates, encrypts, and streams data to the cloud provider you choose. AltaVault intelligently caches recent backups locally while vaulting older versions to the cloud, allowing for rapid restores with off-site protection. This results in a cloud-economics–driven backup-and-recovery strategy with faster recovery, reduced data loss, ironclad security, and minimal management overhead.
AltaVault delivers both enterprise-class data protection and up to 90% less cost than on-premises solutions. The solution is part of a rich NetApp data-protection portfolio that also includes SnapProtect®, SnapMIrror®, SnapVault®, NetApp Private Storage, Cloud ONTAP®, StorageGRID® Webscale, and MetroCluster®. Unmatched in the industry, this portfolio reinforces the data fabric and delivers value no one else can provide.

Four Ways Your Peers Are Putting AltaVault to Work
How is AltaVault helping companies revolutionize their backup operations? Here are four ways your peers are improving their backups with AltaVault:
Killing Complexity. In a world of increasingly complicated backup and recovery solutions, financial services firm Spot Trading was pleased to find its AltaVault implementation extremely straightforward—after pointing their backup software at the appliance, "it just worked."
Boosting Efficiency. Australian homebuilder Metricon struggled with its tape backup infrastructure and rapid data growth before it deployed AltaVault. Now the company has reclaimed 80% of the time employees formerly spent on backups—and saved significant funds in the process.
Staying Flexible. Insurance broker Riggs, Counselman, Michaels & Downes feels good about using AltaVault as its first foray into public cloud because it isn't locked in to any one approach to cloud—public or private. The company knows any time it wants to make a change, it can.
Ensuring Security. Engineering firm Wright Pierce understands that if you do your homework right, it can mean better security in the cloud. After doing its homework, the firm selected AltaVault to securely store backup data in the cloud.
    Three Flavors of AltaVault
AltaVault lets you tap into cloud economics while preserving your investments in existing backup infrastructure, and meeting your backup and recovery service-level agreements. It's available in three form factors: physical, virtual, and cloud-based.
    1. AltaVault Physical Appliances
AltaVault physical appliances are the industry's most scalable cloud-integrated storage appliances, with capacities ranging from 32TB up to 384TB of usable local cache. Companies deploy AltaVault physical appliances in the data center to protect large volumes of data. These datasets typically require the highest available levels of performance and scalability.
AltaVault physical appliances are built on a scalable, efficient hardware platform that's optimized to reduce data footprints and rapidly stream data to the cloud.
    2. AltaVault Virtual Appliances for Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere
AltaVault virtual appliances are an ideal solution for medium-sized businesses that want to get started with cloud backup. They're also perfect for enterprises that want to safeguard branch offices and remote offices with the same level of protection they employ in the data center.
AltaVault virtual appliances deliver the flexibility of deploying on heterogeneous hardware while providing all of the features and functionality of hardware-based appliances. AltaVault virtual appliances can be deployed onto VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisors—so you can choose the hardware that works best for you.
    3. AltaVault Cloud-based Appliances for AWS and Microsoft Azure
For organizations without a secondary disaster recovery location, or for companies looking for extra protection with a low-cost tertiary site, cloud-based AltaVault appliances on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure are key to enabling cloud-based recovery.
On-premises AltaVault physical or virtual appliances seamlessly and securely back up your data to the cloud. If the primary site is unavailable, you can quickly spin up a cloud-based AltaVault appliance in AWS or Azure and recover data in the cloud. Usage-based, pay-as-you-go pricing means you pay only for what you use, when you use it.
AltaVault solutions are a key element of the NetApp vision for a Data Fabric; they provide the confidence that—no matter where your data lives—you can control, integrate, move, secure, and consistently manage it.

Putting AltaVault to Work for You
Four common use cases illustrate the different ways that AltaVault physical and virtual appliances are helping companies augment and improve their backup and archive strategies:
Backup modernization and refresh. Many organizations still rely on tape, which increases their risk exposure because of the potential for lost media in transport, increased downtime and data loss, and limited testing ability. AltaVault serves as a tape replacement or as an update of old disk-based backup appliances and virtual tape libraries (VTLs).
Adding cloud-integrated backup. AltaVault makes a lot of sense if you already have a robust disk-to-disk backup strategy, but want to incorporate a cloud option for long-term storage of backups or to send certain backup workloads to the cloud. AltaVault can augment your existing purpose-built backup appliance (PBBA) for a long-term cloud tier.
Cold storage target. Companies want an inexpensive place to store large volumes of infrequently accessed file data for long periods of time. AltaVault works with CIFS and NFS protocols, and can send data to low-cost public or private storage for durable long-term retention.
Archive storage target. AltaVault can provide an archive solution for database logs or a target for Symantec Enterprise Vault. The simple-to-use AltaVault management platform can allow database administrators to manage the protection of their own systems.
We see two primary use cases for AltaVault cloud-based appliances, available in AWS and Azure clouds:
Recover on-premises workloads in the cloud. For organizations without a secondary disaster recovery location, or for companies looking for extra protection with a low-cost tertiary site, AltaVault cloud-based appliances are key to enabling cloud-based disaster recovery. Via on-premises AltaVault physical or virtual appliances, data is seamlessly and securely protected in the cloud.
Protect cloud-based workloads.  AltaVault cloud-based appliances offer an efficient and secure approach to backing up production workloads already running in the public cloud. Using your existing backup software, AltaVault deduplicates, encrypts, and rapidly migrates data to low-cost cloud storage for long-term retention.
The benefits of cloud—infinite, flexible, and inexpensive storage and compute—are becoming too great to ignore. AltaVault delivers an efficient, secure alternative or addition to your current storage backup solution. You didn't say what phone you have - but you can set it to update and backup and sync over wifi only - I'm betting that those things are happening "automatically" using your cellular connection rather than wifi.
I sync my email automatically when I have a wifi connection, but I can sync manually if I need to.  Downloads happen for me only on wifi, photo and video backup are only over wifi, app updates are only over wifi....check your settings.  Another recent gotcha is Facebook and videos.  LOTS of people are posting videos on Facebook and they automatically download and play UNLESS you turn them off.  That can eat up your data in a hurry if you are on FB regularly.

You must connect your iPad to your computer running iTunes and restore the iPad. You can recover your data from a previous backup and you can download all previously purchased apps without paying for them again so long as you use the same Apple ID that was used to purchase or download the apps in the first place.
