No Tab key?

Question

In the following, pressing the Tab key does absolutely nothing. What happend to it? How can I get at it? (I'm writing a code editor - gotta have the Tab key.)

Duh.
Add this line to keep tabs from getting swallowed:
         me.setFocusTraversalKeysEnabled( false );
