No text messages in Notification Center

I feel like I have all settings correct but I'm not getting any text message notifications in Notification Center. If I wanted to start over and reset everything from scratch, where do I start?

Hi,
The Messages app has Alerts in the Messages Menu  > Preferences > Alerts.
The top item is a drop down of Actions.
The next line starts with a  Play Sound box to be ticked and then a drop down of Sounds
There is then the Box for causing the icon in the Dock to bounce.
For the Invite variations Dialogue boxes do appear on the desktop in different places depending on the type of chat.
Test Chat ones tend to be top right of the screen.
Video chats are top centre.
Audio Only chats  are to the right but below the Text invite spot.
This is where the Incoming ones appear.
You obviously don't get the invite box with out going stuff but the Chat is often where you left the last outgoing chat.
So you can set a sound to a particular actions and in some cases those could be the incoming invites.
They will work with iMessages and other IMs on AIM or Jabber accounts that you may have.
The Notifications is part of the System Preferences panes and has the options to have different types of notifications show up for some of the actions.
The items can be "Alerts" or "Banners" ( or None).
The so called Notification Center is top and far right in the Menu Bar where Spotlight used to be.
This can reprise old notifications for  specific apps.

  • LG G3 Text message repeat notification.

Can anyone help me? The online guru couldn't! I set up my LG G3 text message notification to repeat every 5 minutes, this quickly became annoying, so I wanted to revert to a single notification. However, try as I might, I just couldn't find the menu in settings again! I tried to google it, to no avail, so I'm appealing to you, the great knowledgeable public.........thank you in advance!

Open up the message app and look in the notification settings from there.

  • Alert messages from Notification Center hang after using close button

After opening my MacBook in the morning, Notification Center displays the alerts from my Calender (I realy like this new feature!).
    Problem
When I click the Close Button on an Alert Message the Alert Message does not close but stops responding and stays displayed.
The only way to get rid of it is to logout and login to OSX.
Does anyone have the same problem?
I am looking for a solution.
    All suggestions are welcome!
    Thanks,
      Chris

    Hi,
    Uploaded with Skitch!
As you can see the System Preferences > Notification Pane talks about "Alerts" in a general way first
Then it offers options on how the Notifications are displayed.
I was presuming you were talking about the Notifications in the same general way and I was asking which option you were using
Since my first post in this thread I have changes my Mail Notifications to Alerts (It seems to be the one with more issue)
It does hang around until I deal with it
It then send me to Mail but the Incoming mail item(s) is(are) no longer marked  as unread.
This makes it a little difficult to check the generic Inbox rthat has five Accounts set up.
I am not getting a spinning beach Ball and the Alert Style Notification goes away.

  • How to send a message to a Facebook friend from shortcut of messages in notification center

i tried to send a message to a facebook friend from the shortcut of messages like facebook post or twitter tweat option in notification center but i couldn't i thought there may be something else which i need to do before sending a message to anyone from facebook is there something i need to get done before i can a message to a facebook friend ???

    Hi,
I take it you have a Jabber account set up in Messages ?
A Google Mail ID can access Google talk which is a Jabber Server and if you have Enabled "Chat" at Facebook you will have a Facebook chat ID that can be used in Messages as they too run a Jabber server.
Of course these are just two of many Jabber and compatible XMPP servers.
I don't have Facebook or Twitter but I did use the Menu bar icon for Notifications  and clicked Messages and Sent a Messages to one of my Jabber IDs (it logged me in and sent it from my Google one).
In the System Preferences > Notifications I do have Share Button set (Messages only).

  • Why the incomming text messages and notifications are not popping up on the homescreen?

Lately,  When I receive a text message, the homescreen turns on, but the message appears about one minute after. Anybody having the same issue?? Any suggestions?  Thank u

    Hi, SandraVM.
I would recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device.  If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close.  Test the results after processing these steps.
If the issue persists, I have attached two articles that will walk your through some troubleshooting steps.

  • I see a message in notification center but can't read it in the message app because it is not here.

Just "received" a message from a friend but i can't see it in the message application. There is the red "1" digit upon the message icon and i see the message in the notification center so i don't understand how to solve the problem.
    Cheers.

The next steps in user troubleshooting are a restore from backup, and if necessary a restore as a new device, not from a backup. Perform what is necessary.

  • Messages and Notification Center

Having issues. New to Macs. My notification center won't stay open and AIM messenger pops-up(won't work even though the password is correct).

I assume that you have checked all of the Notifications in the settings app to make sure that they are in fact enabled.
Can you connect to the Internet and are you able to send and receive email?
You could try resetting Network Settings - Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. You will have to enter network passwords again if you try this.

  • How can i remove the phone number from the text messages that i receive in the notification center

how can i remove the phone number from the text messages that i receive in the notification center?

You choose whether to see text messages in Notification Center or not.  If you elect to see them, they will display the phone number (unless they are from a contact in your contacts list).
You can choose not to see them at Settings > Notification Center > Messages.

  • How to change font size in Notification center?

    Good day
I purchased new monitor with BIG resolution an dfount what font in notification message from Notification Center stay very small
I try to find place where possible change font siza but don't found anything
    Please help

AFAIK there is no way to customize this font size. You can't resize the window either.
You need to report it to Apple Feedback so it can be logged and put in the queue to be fixed.

  • Flightmode and Notification Center

This night I've forgot to disable the flightmode, nevertheless I've had a message via notification center. How can this happen; I thougt in flightmode every communication is turned off...
    Thanks

    Hi sparc_,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re concerned because your iPhone was in airplane mode and it still received notifications. As described in the articles linked below you can turn Wi-Fi on while the device in airplane mode and notifications can use Wi-Fi when a cellular connection is unavailable.

  • Ios7 Notification Center font size

Hi, i have just changed to the ios7 software update for my iphone but i realised that the notifications i have been getting on the notification center is really huge!
is there anyway we can reduce the font size for the notification center?
    Thanks lots!

    Hi anil,
thanks for the prompt reply. However, the text size does not affect the size of the texts in the notification center. It seems like they are independent of each other.
Are there any other ways to solve this? or is this an intrinsic software issue?
    Thanks lots!
    Cheers!
