I have been trying to add time to an event i already added but the time field does not exist.
this happens only when I add the event from the month view while I press a date. in no other senario does this happens.
may be its a bug in the calendar.
if I press the + sign then it's normal.
any suggestions on how to fix this?
there is edit button; however, my problem comes after that. if the event was added using the above method then there is still no way to change the time of the event in that date. if the event was added in any other way then I can change the time.
and I just realized my iphone3gs with ios5.0.1 has the same exact bug.

My laptop, iPad, and iPhone are being clogged by repeated iCal alerts. Every time an event is added, it seems another Calendar is also added. When I view the Calendar list in iCal, there are over 100...and the number is growing. They can not be deleted with a simple "Select all" or "Delete All" and, when deleted individually, the list quickly grows to huge numbers again rapidly. How do I keep this from happening and eliminate the excessive number of calendars?

Adding reminders to my calendar items is no longer an option after the software upgrade. I also can't get to day and week view, only month view. What's a possible solution? I'm using Andriod version 4.4.2 with kernal 3.4.0.

i currently have a calendar synced that has events scheduled in perpetuity, scheduled as individual events. I would like to delete all events with the same title. I do not want to delete the entire calendar nor do I want to go into every event and delete individually. These were not scheduled by me so I do not know how they were added one by one and go on forever but they are NOT scheduled as reoccurring and thus must be modified individually.
I can do a search and find all events, is there a way to just delete all events with the same title all at once?
this is a Microsoft outlook synced calendar and I am seemingly unable to delete the events all at one time from Microsoft as well.
Please help!If you still have access to the Outlook calendar in Outlook, I would delete them from there. There are a number of ways to do that, but if you open the individual event in Outlook, does it show a repeating pattern? If not, then you may have to delete them individually, but that is not that difficult either. Go into the calendar and then change the view to a list view. From there you can sort the view according to subject. This should bring all of these same appointments together in the list and you can select the group in Outlook and delete them. Once you do that, you can change your view back and then sync the phone. That will remove the events from the phone.

Changing the default event time to all-day in Month View?
I updated to Mavericks today, and when I went to add an event to my Calendar, I discovered that all-day was not the default time. In Mountain Lion, when going to add an event in Month View, it was automatically set to all-day, which is perfect because all of my events are all-day events. Now, it's being set to 9:00 to 10:00, and I have to check the box to make it all-day. I know that this isn't much work, but when I'm adding dozens of events it starts to get a little annoying.
Calendar 7.0, OS X 10.9 (Mavericks).

I don't think that it is possible, even using Terminal. If you want to change your workflow, "all day" events can easily be created in the Day/Week view, but as you stated the Month view poses a problem.

In Day or Week view, double-click in the “All-day” section at the top of the calendar.
An existing event last all day:
In Day, Week, or Month view, double-click the event, click the date, then select “All-day.”
A multiday event:
In Week view, drag from the start time to the end time. You can drag across multiple days.In Day or Month view, create an event. Then, enter the start and end dates and times.
An all-day event into a multiday event:
In Week view, drag the all-day event across multiple days.

Lion: Is it possible to fix the behavior of New Event in Month View?
I desperately want to be able to choose the default length of new events added while in month view.
I view iCal in Month View and I'm often adding events for next week rather than the current week. When adding a new event while in Month View, iCal assumes the event is all day long and there's no preference to change this behavior. To change the event to the length of a typical meeting, you have to:
Double click the event.
Then click EDIT.
Then click to deselect the "ALL DAY" checkbox.
Click to enter a new time for the event to start.
Then click a new time for the event to end because iCal assumes the event is 8 hours long.
If the event you're adding starts after 4PM, you're going to have to change the end DATE too, because iCal assumed the event lasted into the next day.
MY GOD! All of that, just to add a 1 hour meeting at 4:30 next Tuesday.
Sure, I could use the new + button to add an event at a specific time, but for that 4:30 meeting, iCal still assumes the meeting lasts until 12:30 the next morning, which means a ton of click click clicking to edit the event iCal got wrong in the first place.
I realize I can type out the specifics in that silly bouncy New Event "+" box... but it's annoying to have to type all of that when, previously, all I had to do was double click next Tuesday and type "Meeting with john" and set the time to 4:30.
The new iCal is infuriating. I'm especially shocked that clicking "New Event" in the menubar doesn't open a new event to edit. Instead, it opens the silly bouncy "+" box. If I wanted that, I'd have clicked in the stupid + box! I'm downright shocked by the poor UI decisions in the new iCal. I assumed this stuff would be fixed in 10.7.1. Obviously not.Sadly, I didn't. iCal is click intensive these days unless you type everything out and get it exactly right, including some things (like which calendar) that you don't get the opportunity to set the first time.
The solution is really simple. Double Clicking on a day while in month view shouldn't create a new day-long event. It should open the gray edit event pop up box so I can create a new event with the correct info the first time (which calendar, notes, etc). The current way is to create a new event and then double click THAT to fix it.
For example: Want to create a new event using your Work calendar? Unless your Work Calendar is your default or the last calendar you used, you can't. You can only create a new event using whichever calendar pops up, and then you have to double click the event you created so you can fix it.
Using the + sign popup box for inputing using native language works when what you need to do is simple. The moment you want to create a new event that isn't dead simple, you're lost in a sea of extra useless clicks to acomplish what should be a simple task because there is no way to get it right the first time,
I'm not convinced anyone at Apple uses iCal on a Mac these days. They probably use iPads, which is why they don't realize how much of a step backward the new iCal for Mac is. -

I am looking for a calendar app that my wife and I can share on both of our iphones. I am new to this and haven't found an app that will do what I want.
1. I want the full month view to show some of the text of each event: Like Pocket Informant and Monthly Calendar Mocha do (not just a dot).
2. That both of us can post and see each other's events.
3. That each of us can post "private" events that the other person won't see on their phone. Things like, "Wife's surprise party."
4. That sync's both calendars automatically.
I know a lot of people use Fantastical, but I don't think that would give me the text in the full month view.
Is there an app that can do all of the above?

RickSharing and syncing is a feature of the calendar database; you can have multiple calendars, and each can be private, shared with specific other iCloud users, or public. If you have a Mac you can set that up in the Calendar app; for either Mac or Windows you can set it up by logging in to iCloud.com using your Apple ID.
The other calendar apps all use the Apple calendar database; they just have different ways of presenting the content, and can also take advantage of "hidden" features of the Apple calendar database (such as adding icons to entries). -
When I enter a new event on iCal with the time, it leaves the time off of the Monthly view and in order for me to glance at the times of the day's events I have to click on each event or go into the event and edit it again putting the time on, for it to show. Is there a way to get it to show without doing this?

In ICal is there a way to see all of the text in all day events on the month view of the calendar? Seems to wrap text only if there is a time on the event
The paths won't agree on the two OSs so a simple XML import isn't likely to work.
See Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers and, if needed, Make a split library portable. The techniques in the first link will work when moving the library between Windows and OS X as long as the library is "portable", but iTunes takes quite some time checking the database when the library is opened under a different OS.

Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
I was able to do this years ago in MS Outlook, and utilized it all the time when I needed to push things back, now I have to open the event and select an new date in the drop-down calendar for each & every event I want to move to a new month at the end of the month.
If its definitely not possible, how to you ask apple to consider including it - it doesnt seem like a particularly difficult task.

No, but you can use cut/paste. Cut (⌘X) the event, then click on the week where you want to move the event, and Paste (⌘V).

I have a new iPad3 and have found I cannot open the month of March 2013 when I tap on it. All other months open OK ! I can see March 2013 in the yearly view and I can open the individual days, and weeks, of March 2013 but I cannot see the whole month in the monthly view. When I try to open the monthly view for March 2013 it returns me to the start screen which shows all the apps etc and closes the Calendar app. Any guidance of what is going wrong and how it can be corrected. using the Show/Hide layout Preview Button I get an Program cannot display the web page.
The server is on a different box . Tried running the sapgui from a vista machine and a xp machine and they both have the same problem.
If I run Sapgui on the server box the Show/Hide layout Preview Button does show a subset on the ui elements but not all the examples described in the "ABAP Trial Version for Newbies: Part 18 - Starting with Web Dynpro for ABAP"

I cannot view march 13 (month view) in the standard ipad calendar app.
Anyone else experiencing this glitch?
I googled this query and found that the is a glitch for 1 Apr 13. If this date has any 'all day' events it prevents displaying march 13 in month view.
I amended all my appointments to 20 hour periods to cover the whole day and this alleviated my problem. -
