No Timeline When Browsing Versions of Documents

I am using Pages '09 (v.4.3) with Mountain Lion.
When I BROWSE ALL VERSIONS a Time Machine like interface opens with the current version of the document on the left and past versions on the right, which is what is supposed to happen. However, the timeline on the right from which you should be able to scroll through the old version is not there. The various document versions are stacked but there is no timeline to make each version come to the forefront. Interestingly, as the interface is opening you can briefly see the timeline markings but they disappear as soon as the interface is completely open.
Does anyone know why there is no timeline?

Manually changing a document version number when importing an existing document

Hello.
Like a lot of people, we are starting to make use of Sharepoint Online as part of an Office 365 subscription.
One of the things we want to do is move a bunch of version controlled documents from their current location on a traditional network file share into a Sharepoint Document library, and then use approval and version history to control and track changes.
At the moment these are stored with the version number as part of the file name, so we have something like "Company car policy - version 6.docx". When there's a new version, the old one is moved to an archive folder and a new copy is saved as "Version
7.docx" which is outdated and far from ideal.
I've created my library, tested that approvals work, and have found instructions on how to use a workflow to notify people that changes have been made. That's all fine, but if I upload an existing document into the library it will start the version number
at 0.1 or 1.0 depending on whether I add it as a draft or final.
What I need to be able to do is to manually change the version number to match our existing system without having someone sit there checking a document in and out. Some of them have version numbers in the 20s so this would be a huge waste of time.
I can't believe I'm the first person to have this problem - can anyone help me please?

You are not the only one, that is for sure!
The only way (that I'm aware of and is easy to accomplish) to achieve this is the following:
* Upload your history v1, v2, v3, v4, v5, v6. And then it is really in sync with your current / old version numbers.
* just upload the new / latest file and check out/check in the file x times so the version number will increase every check in.
I know that this sounds weird/funny time consuming. Without 3th party tooling I don't see any other solution.
With 3th party tooling then you can perform those actions (basicaly the same actions) more quick and easy, however you need to get yourself comfortable which such tooling. One of the tools (no I'm not a sales agent or whatsover) that I know can perform metadata
changes is ShareGate. However in PowerShell you can perform also a lot of magic and without ad doubt there are a lot of migrating tools (AvePoint, Tzunami, etc) that can also "mimick" those manual steps.
My best suggestion is:
* If you need to keep the old versions upload them all one by one (if it is not too time consuming)
Otherwise
* create a archive for old versions and start in SharePoint with version 1 which is exactly the same as the latest non-SharePoint version and store that archive in a separate document library/folder/site. (only keep old versions if there is a reall need
/business case or legal case to do that.)

Once you open the files in the new version you can't open them in the old version. Pick one version to use (have to be 9 now as you already have converted files)

Why do I get a black version when I convert my document to PDF?

I have been using Microsoft Publisher 2007 with XP to produce a newsletter for over 11/2 years. Today when I converted the file to PDF it is black with all kinds of wierd colors. It looks nothing like the document I produced. This has never happened before. The PDF version last month looked exactly like the white background document I produced with all the fonts in the right colors, including the pictures. This one looks like a 4 year old got ahold of it and colored it any way she wanted. Nothing looks the same as my document. What happened?

I found out that if I waited about 15 minutes the PDF file became normal. Thank heavens! I've now sent out my newsletter for my Quilt Club to our 90 e-mail subscribers and all of them I have heard from have gotten it the way I had written it. It must just have been a quirk that happened, but I sure am glad it fixed itself. I only have 5 more newsletters to write and then I am done. Thank Heaven. Thank you for trying to help. I was about to become even more crazed than I get when I have to publish the newsletter. I do it once a month and I never would have volunteered for the 2 year job if I had know how much work it is. My husband walks gently when he knows I am trying to put the newsletter together. I'm not usually crabby, but this has made me a nut case once a month. It's a good thing we've been married for 37 years, so he knows that it is only the "newsletter editor nutty lady" that is getting mad at everything and everyone, including him! Here is a normal Save menu in TextEdit, for example:
Now with that menu visible in TextEdit simply press down the OPTION key and a Save As option should appear just below the Save option in the menu.
Now, I may have forgotten since it's been a while, but that may not work in Lion. So either you upgrade, if possible, to Mountain Lion or Yosemite or:
Select the Duplicate option which will open a new copy of your document. You may then Save that copy. When you do you will be asked to provided a new document name. This would replace Save As.

Get client browser version in C# (When IE Compatibility mode enabled)

We need to know client's browser version from C# code (Server side). We use Request.Browser or HTTP_USER_AGENT to get the details.
However, In IE when compatibility mode is enabled it always returns IE 7 version irrespective of version of IE. ie, even in IE 11 when compatibility mode enabled it returns IE 7 but I want actual version which is IE 11. Is there any way I can get actual IE

The problem was that you migrated CS6. Unfortunately, migration doesn't work because it doesn't move all the files.
First, you'll need to use the Adobe Cleaner Tool to remove the components that were installed:

ClassCastException when saving versioned document

Occasionally I recieve the following error when I save a document using IfsFileSystem.putDocument method.
Documents are created as versioned objects with the following code:

No way around it. Even if the images are linked, AI embeds previews of them, especially when they are processed in some way and affect appearance and a simple clipping mask qualifies for that just as much as pixel-based effects, opacity blending and what have you.

Found a note explaining the significance of these errors.
It says:
"NZE-28862: SSL connection failed
Cause: This error occurred because the peer closed the connection.
Action: Enable Oracle Net tracing on both sides and examine the trace output. Contact Oracle Customer support with the trace output."

You installed the Conduit spyware. To remove it, back up all data, then follow these instructions.
If the instructions don't work, proceed as follows.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). From the Finder menu bar, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder…
Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A Finder window should open with a folder named "Conduit" selected. If it does, delete the selected item.

Now you're deleting a folder named "Toolbars". You may be prompted for your login password. Next, copy this line:

I've seen a report that Conduit may be bundled with a scam "utility" called "MacKeeper." If you installed MacKeeper, you should remove it according to the developer's instructions. It's worthless and causes many problems reported on this site.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

When I open a document in Firefox with Adobe Reader 9, I am unable to print it (no problem when using Internet Explorer)

I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit), using Firefox 8.0. When I open a document with Adobe Reader 9, I am unable to do anything with it (print, save, etc.) other than view it. When I use Internet Explorer I don't have this problem.

Not sure what you mean by truncated troubleshooting report, but here's what I copied from "troubleshooting" under "help". My printer is selected as the default printer in Devices and Printers. Also, remember that a document that won't print in Firefox prints fine in Internet Explorer.

Macbook Air wont's open PDF in Safari browser Version 7.1 (9537.85.10.17.1)

Hi Guys, can anyone help me out here i bought a new 2014 Macbook Air with a maverick's OS X Version 10.9.5 and it wont's open PDF in Safari browser Version 7.1 (9537.85.10.17.1). I have a adobe reader Version IX 11.0.09

When viewing a PDF document; cant you search for a keyword anymore?

Hello (me again lol) prior to 2.2 Software upgrade I recall that when viewing a pdf document I could search for certain keywords; now I cant figure out how.
First off, again I'm using 2.2 Software on Verizon' HTC Incredible.
Next up when viewing a pdf I believe its using Adobe Reader. I have a few options but one thing I cannot find is "search" or even 'go to" (page number)
I believe Quck Office doesnt pull up any PDFs so I'm wondering if anyone has figured out how to search for keywords; thanks

If you are using the Quick Office Application or the PDF Viewer, make sure both applications are updated to the newest versions.
You can do that by going to the Android Market Place on the device, then press menu and download, then you can see applications that can be updated.
To check for updates while using Quick Office, press the Menu button, then select Updates. Quickoffice will automatically check for updates to your software.
You can search for text strings in your document using Quickword. Switch to Reflow View, then press the Menu button, and tap Search. A text entry field will appear at the top of your document. Enter the text you wish to search for and tap the search icon to the right of the text field. Quickword will highlight all instances of the text you are searching for.
