NO TOOLS BUTTON

I recently updated my Adobe reader to Adobe reader x , but now I can not replace or insert pages into my already created PDF documents as I do not have the tools button on which I am supposed to have those options.
Please help!

If you had those options before then it wasn't Adobe Reader since you can't make that sort of document modification with Reader.
You more than likely had Adobe Acrobat or a similar application.
If that's the case, you probably still have it. Look in your installed programs list.

  • How to disable the Tools Button in Bex Analyzer

    Hi Guys,
    How do I disable the Tools button only in Bex Analyzer so as to avoid the users messing with Query Designer.
    Thanks,
    Recca

    Recca,
    Can you do this via authoirsations instead?  ie. Allow two types of users, Designers who have access and Users who don't.
    User will be able to access the Query Desinger but have no access to create or save. That should suffice.
    If you start tweaking with the toolbar it may have wider negative implications.

  • Tool Button Not Working in Adobe Reader 9

    Hello,
    I have a custom tool button - folder level script (with a trusted function) to digitally sign a drawing template.
    The tool button works in Reader 8 and Reader X, but is not working in Reader 9.
    The error message is shown "Not Allowed Error: Security settings prevent access to this property or method".
    Can any one please advise why this would not work in Reader 9 when the tool buttons work in other versions of Adobe Reader?
    Thank you.

    Adobe changes JS with every major release, check the Acrobat JS API Reference to see what has changed with regard to your code.
    Without seeing your code, there is no way tell what is going on. Also check the preferences to see if there is an option that needs to be checked to allow your script to work.
    Since Reader X works and it is free, why not upgrade?

  • Adobe Photoshop cs6 problem - it closes after ''move tool'' button

    After I push Move Tool button I cannot use any of the buttons bellow in that tool bar, when I try any button after it on closes the program with windows error ''adobe photoshop cs6 has stopped working''
    os: win 7 64bits.
    other adobe installed : adobe dreamweaver cs6

    OK, it seems to have been narrowed down to the video driver, or to its settings.
    What make and model video card do you have?
    What is the number and date of the installed driver?
    For OpenGL, what are your performance settings?
    Good luck,

  • Not able to expand tool button in Acrobat 9.0

    I have implemented a plugin which contain two Tool buttons using Acrobat SDK 7.0.
    I created a "Flyout" using function AVToolBarNewFlyout(). I am adding those two tool buttons into this Flyout using function
    AVToolBarAddButton() and at last I am doing AVToolButtonSetFlyout().
    When I load this Plugin into Acrobat version 7 and 8 the flyout is working fine (where I can expand tool button) with or without opening any document in Acrobat window.
    The problem is when I load the same Plugin into Acrobat version 9 the Flyout is working fine (where I can expand tool button) only when the document is opened in Acrobat window.
    I am not able to expand tool button if active document is not present.
    Please help me..

    Hi Leonard,
    Please find the below Source code:
    Creating toolbar using AVToolBarNew function.
    AVToolBarPositionRec positionRec;
    memset(&positionRec, 0, sizeof(AVToolBarPositionRec));
    positionRec.size = sizeof(AVToolBarPositionRec);
    positionRec.inDoc = true;
    positionRec.dockPosition = kAVToolBarDockTop;
    positionRec.stackNum = 1;
    positionRec.offset= ASMAXInt32;
    positionRec.order = ASMAXInt32;
    positionRec.hidden = false;
    CreateButtonsFromDescriptors (toolBar);
    AVAppRegisterToolBarPosition("Our Plugin Toolbar", false, &positionRec);
    //This is the function to create flyout for toolbutton.
    static void CreateButtonsFromDescriptors (AVToolBar target)
    PIButtonDesc *buttonInfo = gButtonInfo;
    ASInt32 *buttonOrder = gButtonOrder;
    AVExecuteProc commonExecCallback;
    AVComputeEnabledProc commonEnableCallback;
    // Create our toolbuttons.
    while (*buttonOrder != 0)
    // Create the main toolbutton.
    AVToolButton toolButton = AVToolButtonNew (ASAtomFromString("Button 1")/*(buttonInfo->buttonName)*/, NULL, false, false);
    // Creating our common callbacks.
    AVToolButtonSetHelpText (toolButton, "Button 1");
    buttonInfo++;
    // Create the rest of the buttons in the section on a flyout toolbar.
    if (*buttonOrder > 1)
    AVToolBar flyout = AVToolBarNewFlyout();
    for (ASInt32 i = 1; i < *buttonOrder; i++)
    AVToolButton tButton = AVToolButtonNew (ASAtomFromString( "Button 2"/*buttonInfo->buttonName*/), NULL, false, false);
    //Creating our common callbacks.
    AVToolButtonSetHelpText (tButton,"Button 2");
    AVToolBarAddButton (flyout, tButton, false, NULL);
    buttonInfo++;
    // Add flyout to button.
    AVToolButtonSetFlyout (toolButton, flyout);
    // Finally, add button to target toolbar.
    AVToolBarAddButton (target, toolButton, true, NULL);
    buttonOrder++;
    With the above Source code I am creating a Plugin.When I added this Plugin into Acrobat 7 and 8 I am able to expand the ToolButton( i.e flyout ) with or without active document.
    But when I load the same Plugin into Acrobat 9 I am able to expand Toolbutton( i.e Flyout ) only when the active document is Present.If active document is not present in Acrobat window I am not able to expand the Tool Button( i.e Flyout ).
    Thank you,

  • Accessing Properties of Individual Tool Buttons via JavaScript

    Hi all!
    I am new to both this forum and scripting Acrobat so please excuse me if the question sounds naive.
    I am trying to find a way to access the properties of individual tool buttons via JavaScript (if there is one). I could not find it yet in JS API Reference. If anybody can help me or direct me to the right way, I will greatly appreciate that.
    For example, in 'Comment & Markup' toolbar one can right-click and change the 'Tool Default Properties' of various markup tools like Highlighter, Line, Rectangle etc. Is it possible to access these properties through JavaScript so that buttons can be added for dynamically changing these? Hope this makes sense!
    Thanks in advance for your interest and help.
    John.

    Hi Andy, thanks for the answer. It was pretty simple - I just added an authorization scheme to the report column, wehre the javascript is executed. Christof

  • I cannot seem to get the tools button to come up on the firefox box, what do I need to do?

    I cannot seem to get the tools button in firefox, where can I find it or what do I need to do. I am trying to set a couple of home pages and the help section says to select the tool option and it is not there.

    First, please update to Firefox 18.0.2 [[Update Firefox to the latest version]]
    Then, you should be able to click the orange Firefox button in the upper left corner, then options. Set your home page there. [[How to set the home page]]

  • In Firefox version 4.0.1 (Mac OSX 10.6.7) I cannot find the "New Tab" tool button in Customize Toolbars.

    In Customize Toolbars there is no longer a New Tab tool button to place on the tool bar, there is only a New Window tool button. Has this been deleted from the latest version?

    Is Mail still "spinning"?  If it's been doing that for a while, I'd kill it, using either Activity Monitor or the OS X application picker.  Then relaunch Mail and see what happens.
    Two "by the ways":
    1) Your system details mention an PPC iMac.  Since a non-Intel Mac can't run OS X 10.6, you seem to have another Mac.  You might want to consider updating your system details.
    2) You seem to have been misled by the poor labeling of the message composition fields on this forum into trying to enter your entire post into the "subject" field.  In the future, just enter a summary of your post there and the main text into the field below it.

  • The "tools button" is missing on the tool bar

    The tools button that should be behind the SW button (toggle similarweb sidebar) is missing

    Is this from an add-on?
    If the add-on has its own preferences dialog, check it to see if there is a setting for displaying the button.
    You may also be able to drag and drop the toolbar button from the Customize toolbar window onto the toolbar. For details on how to do that see [[how to customize the toolbar]].
    If the above does not help you can try re-installing the add-on.

  • Import Icon on Custom Tool Button

    Hello,
    I have a script to add an icon to a custom tool button.
    When the script is run from the console in Adobe Professional 9, the tool button with the icon is added to the toolbar.
    The tool button needs to be installed on user's computers with Adobe Reader X.
    The script was placed as folder level javascript on a user's computer as well as the jpg file for the icon.
    When Adobe Reader X was opened the following error was thrown:
    TypeError: this.importIcon is not a function
    1:Folder-Level:App:Button.js
    Can any one please provide assistance on how to get the tool button with the icon to show in Adobe Reader X?
    This is the folder level javascript:
    this.importIcon("myIcon", "/C/temp/myIcon.jpg", 0);
    var oIcon = util.iconStreamFromIcon(this.getIcon("myIcon"));
    app.addToolButton({
    cName: "myButton",
    oIcon: oIcon,
    cExec: "console.println('My Button!');",
    nPos: 0
    Thank you very much.

    That code can't work in a folder-level JavaScript since importIcon is a method of a document.
    You should instead include the button icon image data in the script. If you want to see how to do it, you can get the following product: http://www.windjack.com/product/acrobuttons/

  • Using InDesign CC on Windows 7 Ultimate.  Every time I hit the text tool button the program crashes

    When using InDesign CC, every time I hit the text tool button, the program crashes.

    Arpit thanks, I have almost exactly the same issue, except that any editing of any kind in my Indesign CC seems to cause a crash.Windows 7 home premium.64bit
    I have received the same solution as you gave above, from the tech team, but cant find the correct file to add the "CopyPlugins.vbs script." to....I get an error message telling me to try again and chose the file adobe indesign CC, and yet that's what I'm doing. There must be an instruction missing for finding the correct file.

  • Crashing when I click the Text tool button

    I was really excited about trying Flash out, but I can't seem to get far enough to even do so-whenever I click the Text tool button the program just closes-any suggestions?

    There's a conflict somewhere. I would start by deleting the Preferences file for this copy of Flash and
    then re-install Flash.

  • Crop Tool Button Problem - Sometimes it works, other times you get Crop Pages Menu

    I can't be the only person who's had this problem. Sometimes in Acrobat when I press the Crop Tool button, I get to use the rectangle selection box window and it works fine. Other times when I press the Crop Tool button, I get the Crop Pages menu which is very fustrating .
    I found a solution which is to open a PDF where the Crop Tool works fine. Use the Crop tool command and save it. Exit Acrobat. After doing this, any PDF should work fine with the Crop Tool, but there's gotta be a better way.
    Any experts know a setting I missed or a mistake I'm repeating?
    Note: It seams when Crop Tool works correctly, the button stays pressed down (darkened), but when it doesn't work, the button stays up (not highlighted).

  • Missing tool buttons on Property Inspectator

    I'm using Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 and having trouble with missing tool buttons within the property inspector. These icons, such as the Italic button, disappeared. I know, crazy right?! I feel i must have pressed something to make them disappear. Can anyone out there tell me how to get these button icons back on my property inspector. Please!

    It's definitely not the HTML button. I wish it was that simple. It is also not because it's a different version because I looked on screen examples of CC 2014.1 and it has these buttons for sure. Thanks for trying though.
