No "touch to return to call" option in Jabber for iPhone

I noticed that when I'm in a Jabber call and I press the home button on my iPhone, the call stays up audio only but there is no indication on the iPhone that I'm still in a call.  When you are on a regular PSTN call on iphone and you press the home button, there is a green notification message at the top that says "tap to return to call".  Is this possible with Jabber for iPhone?
Thanks,   Mike

All of those are configuration issues, go thru the config guide once again and review it step by step and make sure it's all properly configured.
Jabber is not registering to CUCM, it has not been configured as a softphone, or the deskphone association is wrong.
If you can see the DN info from the users but not able to call, then at least your directory integration is fine.
DNs not reachable is again a config problem with call routing, CSS and partitions.

If not and if a restart doesn't work as wjosten suggested, try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Jabber for iPhone cannot call over Expressway. Expressway says: Bad Extension

    Hi,
I've had Expressway working but now calls from/to Jabber for iPhone fail with a message "Bad Extension" in Expressway-E.
Is there someone that is willing to share the search rules of Expressway-E required that are required for Jabber to make/receive calls. I think I accidentally deleted one or changed one.

    Erik

Yes, I got an answer from TAC and it is was the solution to my problem.
It had to do with announcing IPv6 support by the clients. (header "Requires: anat")
By creating a new Common Device Configuration that disables IPv6 (IP Addressing Mode), thus IPv4 only, and assigning this common device configuration to all devices using MRA, solved my problem.
Let me know if this also fixes your problems!

  • Transfer VOIP Calls Between Cisco Desk Phone and Cisco Jabber For IPhone 9.5

Does anyone know how to transfer an active voip call from a Cisco IP Desk Phone to Cisco Jabber for IPhone?  I can transfer a call from Cisco Jabber for IPhone to my Cisco IP Desk Phone no problem.  I put the call on hold and then click "Resume" on my Cisco IP Desk Phone.  However I cannot do the same but the other way around.  If I put the call on hold on my Cisco IP Desk Phone, I see "no active call" on my Jabber client.  The only information I could find slighlty relevant was using the Mobility Key/Remote Destination Profile feature however this defeats the object as this will forward to an external number, e.g. mobile and I just want to transfer the call within the VOIP environment between the two devices that are using the same directory number.
I am using Cisco Call Manager 9.1(2), Cisco Presence 9.1 and Cisco Jabber for IPhone 9.5.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Paul Parker.

Did you ever find an answer to this ?
I am seeing the same behavior and trying so see if I can put calls on hold and pick them up both ways also.
The only answer I seem to have found is to use park instead
That would/should work but I would just prefer to hold/unhold
Just not sure why we would not be able to hold/unhold on what is essentially a "shared" line
Does anyone have this working for them ?

  • How do you disable the "Touch to return to call" banner on the top of the screen?

How do you disable the "Touch to return to call" banner on an iPhone 4s and it is factory unlocked?
    Thank you.

If your trying to just simply have it not show while navigating the OS during a call, then there is no option to disable it. If it's a problem where it's continuing to show after you disconnect a call it could be a fault in code that fails to run the script to terminate the banner need upon disconnect. I would restore the phone using itunes as a first troubleshooting step. Another avenue might be an issue with the phone failing to recognize the end of call signal from the carrier. In which case I would have the SIM card changed. Easy thing to do at your local carrier store.

  • Touch to return to call

since updating to iOS 8, when I make calls, it automatically pops up the green screen at the top that says touch to return to call instead of having the call screen that has all of the options like speaker, FaceTime, And end call. Is this the way it's supposed to be?

I have iphone 4s and the same problem since last update. Can't call 'directly'. When I'm trying to make a call I'm getting only the green return-to-call top bar, no normal call screen. So I touch the green bar and then I get the call screen when I can receive the call. Seems I'm returning to the call that have been not received yet. Moreover, when I'm receiving a call, my phone is ringing but screen is still black. To receive a call I need to unblock the phone and... touch the green bar. Then receive the call normal way on standard call screen.

  • "touch to return to call" banner is stuck, forces a restart

Strange problem. The "touch to return to call" banner is stuck. Happens when I try to return calls to certain numbers. I have to manually shut it down.
Seems to be related to people who call me on iphones 3gs.
    I have 3g 3.0

I'm not sure either, but I haven't experienced the same. I'm fairly confident this has nothing to do with the type of phone a missed call is from. Nothing is saved different with a missed call based on the type of cell phone the call was placed with.
I agree that you should not have to do a reset.
    Copied from my previous post.
If an iPhone reset does not resolve this, the next step is restoring your iPhone from your iPhone's backup. If there is a problem with your iPhone's backup, restoring from the backup will also restore the problem. If no change after restoring from your iPhone's backup, try restoring as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after either restore method, you can call AppleCare at (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

  • Why apple was not update facetime call over the cellular for iPhone 4?????

why apple was not update facetime call over the cellular for iPhone 4?????

Facetime will not use the cellular network (if using AT&T) for the iphone 4, 4S or 5 unless you have signed up for ATT's new data share plan. They stated this several weeks ago when there was talk about Iphone5/IOS 6 and Facetime. Your carrier is the one that decides if Facetime will work over the cellular network or not. You might want to contact them. Your other option is to continue using it via wi-fi.

  • Iphone 6 Touch to return to call turns screen off before password

Just got this phone few days ago.. When going to voicemail it asks for password and when trying to return to call either im unable to
return to the call with screen turning blank... Sometimes it won't let me enter the password at all and just flickers off. Thus can't use the number key cause the screen flickers OFF. If there's no resolution this this issue I am considering returning the phone.
    Thanks

You have other issues going on if you are having to call your voicemail number and you are on AT&T. They support visual voicemail and you should be downloading the voicemail to your phone and not having to deal with a phone call at all. Call AT&T and have them reset your voicemail if it makes a phone call when you tap on the voicemail button.

  • IPhone Cellular Calls option is missing on iPhone 5, iOS 8

    Hello everyone,
I upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 and discovered that the option “iPhone Cellular Calls” in Settings > FaceTime is missing. It should be there, as the iPhone 5 is among the devices that support that feature. The Handoff option (General > Handhoff & Suggested Apps) is there as normal.
I phoned Apple and they suggested me to install iOS 8 again. I did it several times, configuring my iPhone as a new device too, without success: the option is still not there. My wife has got an iPhone 5c and that option was visible and on from the very beginning after upgrading to iOS 8.
    Anyone with the same issue?

Could you have a look today whether or not “iCloud Drive” is active on your mother’s devices?
Should “iCloud Drive” play no role in this matter, I think this could be the description of what happens:
A device with iOS 8 will show no Continuity options if it is not compatible with them (see my wife’s iPad).
If it is compatible, it will show “Handoff” while “iPhone Cellular Calls” will only be shown if it detects by Apple that its owner has got another one or more devices with the latest OS, that are registered with the same Apple ID. It will not check if the other devices are “active” (in the same network, for instance) or if they are effectively compatible with the new features. That would explain why my wife’s iPhone is showing the “iPhone Cellular Calls” option even if she cannot use it (because her iPad, running iOS 8, is not compatible with Continuity at all). A bit inconsistent (because Handoff should at least be treated the same way) but plausible.
Anyway, let’s wait and see what you find out today with your mother’s devices…

  • Jabber for iPhone and iPad cannot receive calls

We currently have Call Manager 9.1.1 and Presence 9.1.1.
I am starting to use the Jabber Client for iPhone and iPad, but am having trouble receiving calls dialed to a particular extension.
If I can go settings for the iPhone Jabber client as an example, I am succesffuly connected to all accounts: IM, Phone Services, Voicemail, and WebEx.
When I go to the keypad, I can succesffuly dial internal extensions and make outbound calls to any numbers and they come accross as using my extension.
When calling the extension, my desk phone rings, but not the Jabber client.
Not sure what could be causing this issue to occur for Jabber not receiving the calls.
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Paul Gaydos

Should still work. But would be good to check indial into jabber with the phone unplugged, just for testing purposes.
also, you have checked the partition and configuration on the TAB device is the same as on the deskphone?
Can you attach call manager traces when making a test call and attach to the case.  Let us know the extension and device names you have used in the test, and a timestamp of the test.
    thanks

  • Jabber for IPhone over AnyConnect VPN calls to SIP Gateway - One Way Audio

    Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has seen this before.  I have the latest version of Anyconnect for the IPhone and Jabber app, running on the newest version of CUCM 8.6 and Jabber 8.6.
The Jabber phone registers fine and I can make internal calls without an issue.  I also can make external calls to H323 and HGCP PRI gateways without an issue.  However, when I make a call from the Jabber client that goes out a SIP gateway and SIP trunk I get one way audio.  I do not see any packets even trying to leave inside interface of the ASA headed toward the SIP trunk IP.
I've also verified that useing the same VPN profile I can make 2 way audio calls out the SIP trunk from a softphone running on windows.
Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
try to disable early media on 180 under sip profile settings for jabber client.

  • What exactly does Verizon's *228 option 1 do for Iphone?

Does it do anything bad to my phone if I do it several times for either option 1 or 2?

Dialing *228 updates the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). Basically, what it does it tell the phone which towers it should look for first. An outdated PRL can result in an increased number of dropped calls, extra time required to connect a call, no service indicators. Verizon recommends you do it about once a month. Doing it more often or even repeatedly, won't hurt anything. If you already have the lastest PRL, nothing will change.
Dialing *228 is not some sort of magic fix for other hardware or software problems with the phone.
    Best of luck.

It's not "touch to return call". It's "Touch to return to call". That banner appears when you are in a call and you have switched to another application. Are you saying that when you touch that, you are not returned to the Phone app?
