No TV Shows menu

For some reason when I go to the Videos menu on my iPod, there is no TV Shows option. I have a couple of videos listed as TV Shows but they don't seem to be available on my iPod.
I know that his is a minor problem and one that is easily worked around, but it's something I'd like to get sorted.

To answer your question "Where on the site does it mention TV shows?" : http://www.apple.com/ca/appletv/
Very first column under the big banner image in top area of page:
"Apple TV, streamlined. Stream movies, TV SHOWS, music, photos, and more..."
Next section below that, with the large images of the ATV in a hand, right side:
"All streaming. No hassle.
Everything you want to watch — movies, TV shows, photos, and more — streams wirelessly to Apple TV. That way you don’t have to worry about managing storage or syncing to your iTunes library."
I understand your explanation though. No rentals, therefore they have to be bought on iTunes. It's a bit of a bitter pill to swallow though, that we read glowing reviews of the device which mention TV Shows, then we pay an extra 20% premium, and find out after the fact there are missing features.

  • Front Row TV Show menu gets confused and jumps back

I recently upgraded my Intel Mac mini to Mac OS X 10.5.5 (Leopard). Front row seems to get confused as I browse through my TV Shows menu. For instance, if I scroll down to "Heroes" (season 2) the select bar seems to jump to "Grey's Anatomy" on it's own. After it does this it also confuses the artwork for the shows.
I've only found one instance of this issue doing a Google search, but nothing here in Apple discussion forums. Has anyone dealt with this successfully.?

  • Where is the Show menu button that is supposed to be at the bottom of the window

where i sthe Show menu button that is supposed to be at the bottom of the iTunes window that will allow me to move music from one computer library  to another?

Thank you but I have now solved my problem.
I was trying to move music files from one iTunes library on one computer to the iTunes library on another computer.
The instructions on the Apple site tell you to open sharing on both libraries and then use the Show menu button at the bottom of the window to select 'items not in my library'
What they don't tell you is that the button is on a hidden toolbar that will only appear if both libraries are logged in to the same account with the same ID and passward in Home Sharing which is in the Advanced drop down menu.
I had Home Sharing switched on in my Preferences but was not using identical IDs & passwords.
As the toolbar with the Show menu botton was hidden I could not see it until I worked out that both computers needed an identical log-in. With that done after various trial and error efforts I found the button and was able to move the files.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Where is the Show menu

Where is the "Show menu" referenced in the home sharing instructions?

It's normally down at the bottom of the screen showing the contents of the shared library, as per the following screenshot:
Is it missing from there for you?

  • TS2972 Home Sharing, Where is the Show Menu?

Hi,  I have read the directions for Home Sharing.  My Shared Music Files are showing under the Shared section.  The directions then say to go to the Show Menu and choose files to import.  Where is the Show Menu?  It is not at the bottom of the screen.

I own toshiba laptops. Both computers have the latest itunes software. However the 'show menu' does not appear on the screen?

Thanks for the response diesel. I dont think I clarified my question very well. I'm trying to do home sharing between mine and my wifes computers. The intructions say:
Log in as the same user on each computer.
    Ensure both are current version.
Choose the correct list in sharing ie Music
Then in the 'show menu' at the bottom of the screen, choose items not in my library.
I do not have the show menu to select any songs.
    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers

  • TS2972 Home Sharing "Show" menu does not appear

Can anyone tell us why this does not appear in our itunes window, "In the Show menu at the bottom of the iTunes window"?
The shared library appears, and all the music, but there is no Show menu and no way to import songs anymore and we can't for the devil figure out why. Thanks for any thoughts and suggestions.

I have the same problem... last time I saw the home sharing icon was when I hit the "done" button, and ever since the home sharing icon is missing from my Itunes and I cannot find it anywhere on my Ipod. Itunes "help" was useless, what is going on, why doesn't this work??

  • Tv shows menu does not appear in ATV 2

The 'TV shows' menu item does not appear in my brand new Apple TV 2.  I have rebooted a couple of times.  Any help appreciated

Thanks for the answer.  After more research I realise that as I'm in Australia and there are no TV show rentals here that is why there is no TV Shows menu item.  This is despite the fact that the Australian AppleTV 2 site shows a screen shot of the Apple TV menu with 'TV Shows' on it.  When you read the text it does not mention TV shows. What I find most annoying is that there doesn't seem to be a way to access the Itunes store from the ATV2.  With ATV1 I could watch a TV show and if I wanted to immediately buy the next episode or the whole series I could do so from my ATV1 iTunes interface.  Now with the new ATV I can watch a show through home sharing if I have already purchased it but if I want to buy the next show I have to get up from the TV room, go to the study, buy the show on my iMac and then wait for it to download to stream to my ATV2.  Is this user friendly progress?
While I understand that ATV2 is for rentals and that there is no hard drive storage, I can't believe that Apple couldn't come up with an interface that allowed the ATV2 to access and browse the iTunes store and then download purchased items to the iMac for streaming.
As a, hopefully temporary, solution I have reconnected the ATV1 to a different HDMI input, and synced only unwatched TV shows.  This will allow me to then purchase new shows (or movies), which will be stored on iTunes for later streaming via ATV2.
Am I missing something or is this the only solution?

  • HT202213 the "show" menu is not visible. How do I find it?

I am trying to import music from a shared computer. I can see all of the music, but I cannot see the "show" menu to choose "items not on this computer". What am I doing wrong?

To see if it is installed go to System Preferences and there should be a Flash Player icon on the bottom row.
If it's installed but Flash content is not playing and you are using Safari check Safari>Preferences>Security and make sure Allow Plug-ins is ticked.

  • Missing "TV Shows" menu items lists

I have a first gen apple TV, software is up to date.
Today I look at the "TV Shows" menu, and everything except "My TV shows" is missing from the menu selection.
I've looked around the support communities and I've seen a few other threads, but no resolutions.  Thus I'm starting a new thread on the topic.
I've rebooted AppleTV, have confirmed my location settings (I'm in Canada), so-on-and-so-forth.
Does anyone know what's going on?  With the exception of these missing menu items my AppleTV is fully functional.

This problem has just resolved itself. You can read more about it in the
Apple TV 1 not showing TV show items thread. However, you need to reboot your Apple TV for the menu to reappear. Just press and hold "Menu" plus "-" on the remote until it disappears from your TV screem amd then follow the instructions when it starts up again.

  • Putting shows in the TV Shows menu

I downloaded some external software to put DVDs onto my ipod. It works, but they appeared in the movies menu, so I went to the options menu and selected it to be a TV show. Now, it doesn't appear on my ipod (even though it is sent to it). How can I get my file in the TV shows menu?
