No Twitter and Facebook Notifications

There's still no sign of Twitter and Facebook push notifications appearing following the introduction of Notifications in ios5.
All the settings in Notifications for these apps are set correctly and I have the latest versions of the apps. I'm getting other
notifications - Mail, Calendar etc - but no Facebook or Twitter.
One other question on this. Assuming this does get to work, exactly what notifications should be received? For example, is it just Direct Messages
on Twitter rather than posts by people you follow? Same question with Facebook.

Here is my experience with this issue.
First of all, I have an iPhone 4S (my first iPhone), and when I first got my iPhone in the mail and installed Facebook (fb) I was getting my fb notifications without any issues. Then after installing others apps and receiving updates, all the sudden I stopped receiving my fb notifications via fb app. The only way that I would get fb notifications was by e-mail, but I soon realized this was going to be so annoying. Thereafter, I decided to search online and see if there other customers with iPhones were having the same issues I had encountered. Surprisingly enough, I found this thread. After reading all of your comments herein, the first thing I did was to delete my fb app from my iPhone. Secondly, I deleted my fb app from my previous smartphone (bb), and thereafter, I downloaded fb onto my Mac through iTunes, and from there to my iPhone. I can now say, that thus far this has resolved my issue, and I'm now getting fb notifications on my iPone via the fb app.

If you are having issues with app notifications in Notification Center on your iPhone 6, you may want to double-check the notification settings for those apps as outlined in the following articles:
Set notification options. Go to Settings > Notifications. Tap an app to set its notification options. For example, choose to view a notification from the Lock screen. You can also tap Edit to arrange the order of app notifications. Touch , then drag it to a new position.

I seem to be having the same problem on my brand new iPhone 4S. Everything was working fine on the phone until I updated to iOS 5.1.1, but now I no longer receive push notifications for the native Mail app, Instagram, or the Facebook app. I still seem to be receiving SMS texts and iMessages via push, but the aforementioned apps need to be opened before I can receive missed notifications (having them open in the background seems to make no difference).

did you try notifications under settings? You can customize it as per your requirement, for each application.

Emails and facebook notifications ...

Hi,
I've had my blackberry bold 9700 since the 11th June. Since then i've had troubles reciving emails and facebook notifications. Sometimes they come though but not for a good 15 mins - 1 hour and sometimes they don't even come through at all! does anyone know what i need to do? i tried a new hanset still didnt do it, rang o2 they dont know as all settings are right their end.. anyone? thanks

Blackberry 8520 keeps repeatedly downloading the same email messages and facebook notifications

My Blackberry 8520 has all of a sudden started downloading the same email addresses and facebook notifications, that I have already read, I tried deleting them totally and also deleted from my computer inbox, but it just downloaded the next lot in my inbox repeatedly instead. Sometimes it says I have 50 unread messages, which is the same 7 or 8 messages over and over again, showing as unread.
I have rebooted device several times and don't know what else to do now, can anyone help please?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Have you changed the settings for messages on your account on the providers website?
(Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
If that's not it try the following:
Go to options advanced options, Host Routing Tables, click to enter. DO NOT click on any listing.
Press menu key, and select register now.
You will get a verification message. Then go to email settings and send service books.
I would suggest logging into the carriers BIS site via PC if you can.
You will get an email per account. Repeat the battery pull and see if the problem is
resolved.

I want twitter and facebook back on the top slid menu. I don't like how I have to open apps now to post in the IOS 7

I just downloaded the new IOS 7 update, and noticed that in the top slid down menu. I lost my twitter and facebook status inputs. Where you could write status with out opening the apps. I would love this back !!

Not receiving e-mail and facebook notifications

Can someone help me??? I am not receiving any e-mail or facebook notifications on my blackberry curve 8530. I took the battery out and also ran a Diagnostics Test that said I was connected. When I tried to run e-mail setting it said "having trouble connecting to server". What can I do???

From my experience, this is affecting BIS, BES, and all services that depend on those (BBM, email, AppWorld, web browsing, application access to internet data, etc.). Troubleshooting specific problems during this outage may be pointless.
Once the outage clears, if things are not yet flowing for you, please try these steps:
1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

1520 texting and facebook notifications

I'm only getting my text messages once a day sometimes twice and my Facebook notifications I get tons of them at one time a day. Do I have something wrong in my settings or is it the phone?

Is it working fine before? Did something happen to your phone prior to this issue? Have you tried to restart the phone by pressing and holding the volume and down keys for 10-15 seconds until it vibrates? You can also try to test your phone's sending and receiving capabilities by following below steps:
1. Go to Messaging
2. New (+) > tap 123 key located at the bottom left
3. Type your own mobile phone number in the dial pad
4. Type a message
5. Tap send
If the issue still remains, try to remove the SIM card from the phone and insert it to another handset just to isolate the cause of this.
With your Facebook notifications, are you referring to the OS notifications through the people hub or the facebook application from the store? Do you wish to turn off this notification? Please inform us to provide you further assistance.

Connecting to twitter and facebook ( automatic updates)

Anyone having trouble with posting runs to facebook and twitter recently? Worked great up until Friday!

Reinstalled firmware on N9 this afternoon which resolved Twitter and FB login issues, it went dramatically as NSU failed to update the device(after downloading whopping 1.1Gb), retried it twice with no luck, finally for the third time it worked. For a moment thought I had bricked it, happy now that it is back to its best, really can't get around why all of sudden phone forgot my passwords, hope it is only on my N9. Think twice before you attempt to reinstall firmware, for me it was like sitting on knife's edge today

Twitter and Facebook

Hi.
I'm looking for an automatic process to read data from facebook and twitter and feed them into OEID.
For instance, in facebook I would like to have a company page with posts for new products, etc. I would like to crawl all the comments my followers make on my posts and load them into the OEID.
I would also like to crawl my followers data and their wall posts. And the same for twitter, of course.
It seems everything I read about Endeca mentions reading non-structured data from social websites but when I try to find how to do it, all I can find is "load this .csv", "load this .xls", etc.
Can anyone help here?

As Patrick mentions, going with a service such as DataSift is probably your best bet, but it will take some elbow grease.
The following is a set of steps that illustrate how to implement a solution with DataSift, but the general steps should apply regardless of the service you choose.

With some effort, this should get you to the point where you have a new component in your CloverETL graph that ingests social media interactions, and feeds them into your dgraph.
It's worth noting however that there is a key issue with real-time streaming of social media data. The problem is inherent in maintaining any persistent HTTP connection to the DataSift server. While DataSift provides sample code to automate reconnection in case the connection drops, there is no reliable way to recover the interactions that were lost while your solution was recovering from its failure.
So if data integrity is more important than real-time ingestion, you'll likely want to go with a push solution (to an FTP server; for example, http://dev.datasift.com/docs/push/push-steps) that will allow you to store and process every interaction.

My iPad mini often fails to recieve push notifications from apps such as twitter and Facebook

My ipad mini doesnt seem to get facebook and twitter notifications, even though if I open the app, they are there to see.

Virus? never heard of one for any ios devices. Really ... never. Check your source on that. There are notification settings. Lock in settings for notifications, turn off or on. If really crazy stuff is happening restore it. Backup info first.
Restore
Turn off iPhone – Hold down the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the red slider.
Open iTunes on your computer.
Press and hold down the Home button First then connect the cable to the computer.
Release Home button when connect to itunes appears on device.
iTunes will prompt a message that says, iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Click OK.
You will be taken to the iPhone pane. Then, click on Restore.
Wait for the full restoration process to complete, Set up device “as new”.
