No update all in app store

I seem to have lost my "update all" button in my app store updates tab. I have looked at my husbands phone and he has a purchased tab and then under the update all bar and button is the new 'all / not on this iphone' bar. I do not have the update bar at all just the 'all / not on this iphone' bar.
My iPhone 4 is running latest update 4.3.3 (which weirdly isnt in the list) exactly the same as hubby's. The only other difference is that I have a personal hotspot option under settings and he doesn't. Were both on the network three.
Have I done something to disable the update all feature, I really need to sort my apps out!

I have this same issue. I don't have an "Update All" button any more.
In the App Store "updates" page, it lists ALL apps I have ever bought. Each one shows either "installed", "cloud" (meaning I bought it but its not on this device), or "Update" (meaning I have an update available).
I show 7 updates available, but I have to scroll through, find them, and Update them one at a time. I have a long list of bought apps. Not exactly easy to install my updates.
I've "killed" the app store from my recent apps, soft reset and rebooted my phone. But still don't have the "Update All" button. is this what everyone is seeing now?
Also, I even noticed now when i select an app that has an update avail to see what the update has, it just takes me to the full app description, and not just the "what's new" page.
Kind of a pain for both of these issues. Hope this is just a temp error/issue and is addressed soon.

I have posted this quite a few times and some of these suggestions have worked for others in the past. See if anything works for you.
1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. You can also dete apps in Settings>General>Usage>Storage.
6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

This morning I had the same issue - even though I have pending updates, the app store badge is gone and it says all apps are up to date. I, like many others I'm sure, selectively update apps based on reviews. I'm sure there is either an app store refresh/update on Apple's end or a run on the app store causing errors or issues.

With Mountain Lion Developer release, and most likely the finished release having all updates via the App store, how does ARD fit into the picture?

The following question is based on what I have seen in some early reports of the Developer version of Mountain Lion.
Since the Developer Release of Mountain Lion, and the final version also I expect, having all updates being installed via the App Store by the user, how is a administrator to keep hundreds of systems current with all updates? The App Store requires, at least in its current version, a user to log in with their Apple Account ID and password even to do no cost updates. In an Enterprise operation I expect a number, maybe the majority of users will just not bother to do the updates.
Is there some way to use ARD to handle keeping Mountain Lion systems fully updated from an ARD Admin system? Is there a backdoor for updating systems?

No one is going to be able to discuss how ARD might work with Mountain Lion since anyone running an ML system is under nondisclosure and cannot discuss it publicly. All anyone here can talk about is how ARD can (or cannot, as the case may be) be used to keep Lion systems updated.
At this point I don't see any easy option in ARD to run Mac App Store updates, but it might be possible to script that, though whether that could run in background, as OS updates can, or on a system without a user logged in I don't know. Someone else here may be able to offer insight. For enterprise-level management I think most people have more-or-less given up on ARD as their primary tool, though, and moved to one of the third-party solutions.

I keep gettin updates from my app store but yet when I go in and update all it starts the update and then pops up and tells me that the application cannot be downloaded at this time. I have had to delete a few apps bc this isn't working.

First check that your device is not full, maybe you may have to delete some photos or apps to make space to do updates. if its not full then you will have to try pluging it into your pc/mac running itunes then doing a backup and restore. Then you should be able to do your updates.
Sorry but i cant think of any other way if its showing as installed already but is not there.

If you just installed iCloud does that mean you updated the iOS that's running on your iPad? If so, you'll want to restore all the programs you have from the backup you hopefully made.

If you don't want to use iCloud, simply don't activate it.
You can also download the programs again.

HT201303 when I try to do updates in the app store it keeps asking for my credit card info and telling me that my "security code is invalid". it obviously isn't. how can I fix this issue?

I have 3 Iphone 4's. One of them updates from the App Store with no issues. My other two which are under the same AppleID will not let me do updates. when I try it asks for my Credit card info then after i enter it it says "security code invalid". Has anyone else had this issue and how have you fixed it?

If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

You can probably change the ID in the "iTunes and App stores" settings on the iPad....click on the wrong account ID , select sign out, then log in with your own ID, I have not done this but I think it works.....

His last suuggestion was to go home, back up all the data an take the computer back to the Apple store to reinstall the operating system. Any simpler ideas to solve this problem.???

How do I remove unwanted (eg: Skitch) updates from the App Store?

Skitch 1.0 is great. Evernote bought Skitch and produced a stripped down version of Skitch and called it 2.0. The unanimous assessment of the update is that it is a major step backwards. I usually click 'update all' apps for my iPhone/iPad because I have so many. I was hoping to do the same for my Macintosh applications, but as long as Skitch keeps showing up with it's updates, I can't do that. How can I keep Skitch 1.x running on my computer, and not see Skitch 2.x updates in the App Store?

- Remove it or better, rename it or copy it to some plce to have a backup copy

HT201064 Fresh Mavericks install, iPhoto installed from DVD - won't update via the App Store

Hi all
I did a fresh install of Mavericks, then installed a few apps from the App store.
I then remembered iPhoto etc. that I have from the original install discs (2012 MBP)...but whilst iPhoto says an update is available (9.5.1), and launches the App store it won't show as an update via the App store.
Anyone got any ideas?

Sadly you're mistaken. A 2012 MacBook Pro has no install DVDs. Apple stopped issuing install disks with new Macs soon after the permanent advent of the Mac App Store with OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Additionally, the version of the iLife apps; iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand that last came on install disks are not the Mac App Store (MAS) versions and are not compatible with being updated through the MAS.
The apps from that old disk that you have from another Mac may be updatable however, using the Software Update facility in the Apple menu.
