No update in my update tab yet...? Should've been 8 hours ago
The OTA was supposed to push the ios 7 update to my phone at noon, and it's now 8 and nothing...my computer is at work, and I don't know what else to do?
So there's no way it'll get pushed to my phone now? Just didn't want to wait till tomorrow, or have to plug in to the computer...thanks

It happens most frequently when exiting full screen from a video. i.e. youtube, dailymotion, nbc.com - any site with embedded video players.
When exiting full screen, the page skips backwards 2 to 3 pages. And no, I'm not clicking related videos while in full screen the whole time - this is while initiating full screen and exiting full screen, all from the same video page.
This happens less frequently when switching tabs - but if I switch to another tab, then back, the first tab will load the page I was on 2 pages ago.
More info: When this happens, the "forward arrow" is greyed out and the page that that loads is on the "back arrow" list twice - further down the list where it should be, as well as at the very top of the list, as though I had clicked on a link to that page.
This all started immediately upon restarting Firefox after updating to version 25 - no other changes have been made to my computer.Thanks for the canned responses, but you guys are way off.
More information: It's related to HTML5 - whenever I fullscreen an HTML5 video, Firefox skips backwards to the most recent HTML5 video before that one, when exiting fullscreen. This last time, it skipped backwards past 4 pages that had no HTML5 content at all, to the one that did. -
i tried to update my iphone4 to iOS 6 it restarted and got stuck. it being restarted since i have updated it and its not yet switched on. tell me what to do with this fish????
So what happened to the phone during the process? It should have gone black and restarted a couple of times and there would have been a white progress bar as the update installed. Sounds to me like you've downloaded the update file but not actually installed it. The quickest way to see version of the software is installed is to go to Settings-General-About and check Version.

Is it safe to update to 10.4.11 yet??
Right now my system is running problem free. It has been for quite a while.
I certainly don't want to go to 10.5 yet until all of that stuff has been worked out, but I was wondering if those of you who have updated to 10.4.11 are running smoothly?
Thanks for the input.You are really asking in the wrong place - most 'visitors' here have problems, since these discussions are in reality a 'hospital A&E ward'! You won't hear from the millions of people who run 10.4.11 without any problems.
It can be a matter of how updates are installed, rather than what is installed:
There are no guarantees, but following this procedure when installing updates and upgrades on your Mac will go a long way towards avoiding unpleasant after effects and ‘post-update stress disorder’.
It is also worth noting that it is an extreme rarity for updates to cause upsets to your system, but they may well reveal pre-existing ones, particularly those of which you may have been unaware. If you are actually aware of any glitches, make sure they are fixed before proceeding further.
So before you do anything else:
If you can, make a full backup first.
Turn off sleep mode for both screen and hard disk.
1. Repair Permissions (in Disk Utility)
2. Verify the state of your hard disk using Disk Utility. If any faults are reported, restart from your install disk (holding down the C key), go to Disk Utility, and repair your startup disk. Restart again to get back to your startup disk.
At least you can now be reasonably certain that your system does not contain any obvious faults that might cause an update/upgrade to fail.
3. Download the correct version of the COMBO update from the Apple download site. If your car runs on gasoline you would not want to fill the tank with diesel, so don’t try to install the PPC updater on an Intel Mac!
If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
Using the Combo updater ensures that all system files changed since the original 10.4.0 are included, and any that may have been missed out or subsequently damaged will be repaired. The Delta updater, although a temptingly smaller download, only takes you from the previous version to the new one, i.e. for example from 10.4.9 to 10.4.10. Software Update will generally download the Delta updater only. The preferable Combo updater needs to be downloaded from Apple's download site.
Now proceed as follows:
4. Close all applications.
5. Unplug all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
6. Install the update/upgrade. Do not under any circumstances interrupt this procedure. Do not do anything else on your computer while it is installing. Be patient.
7. When it ask for a restart to complete the installation, click restart. This can take longer than normal, there are probably thousands of files to overwrite and place in the correct location. Do nothing while this is going on.
8. Once your Mac is awake, repair permissions again, and you should be good to go!
If your Mac seems slightly sluggish or ‘different’, perform a second restart. It can’t hurt and is sometimes efficacious!
9. Open a few of your most used applications and check that all is OK. In this connection please remember that not all manufacturers of third party applications and plug-ins, add-ons, haxies etc, will have had time to do any necessary rewrites to their software to make them 10.4.10. compliant. Give them a weeks or two while you regularly check their websites for updates. This applies particularly to plug-ins for Safari 3.
N.B. Do not attempt to install two different updates at the same time as each may have different routines and requirements. Follow the above recommendations for each update in turn.

If you are updating Safari (or just have):
Input Managers from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If you have installed 10.4.11 and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level /Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4 or, if you downloaded it, Safari 3.0.3 beta. Safari 10.4.11 uses Safari 3.0.4 which is not a beta. If Safari 3.0.4 on 10.4.11 is not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
Moreover, trying to revert to Safari 2 when running 10.4.11 can have repercussions, as Safari 3.0.4 uses a completely different webcore on which other applications like iTunes, Mail etc also rely.
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Two such add-on that have been frequently mentioned here for causing such problems are Piclens and Pithhelmet. If you have them, trash them. -
This last Firefox update was totally useless, all Firefox updates destroy my previous tabs without warning and are therefore extremely disruptive. I lose information that will take time to recover. Firefox should give warning to its users so that vital information can be saved before updating their tab system.+
Firefox should not lose your open tabs when it updates. <br /> (That is not to say it always succeeds)
I know Firefox will sometimes remove stored open tabs with updates, and I think Firefox 29 itself had a particular issue with the open tabs.

Are you sure it was error 0604 since I never heard of that error, it does not appear in the list of errors in the following and a search of Apple's support site gets no hits. However, error 1604 is list and users have reported that error number. If 1604 is the error number the following tell yu wnat to do when you click on that error number:

I don't know what else to say other than I have had Firefox for a while and an update came up and so I updated and Firefox has not worked right since then. I open a tab and it comes back Object Move (here) or Object moved temporary or some such crap. I then have to to the Firefox control go to help and and restart with add -on's Disabled I have tried ever other setting listed and nothing changes this problem from happening.
Hmmm, Norton extensions are broken again in Firefox 4.0.1. It seems that Norton didn't allow for Firefox 4.0 security updates when they updated their Firefox extension for Firefox 4.0. Norton says they'll have a fix in two weeks. A Norton user posted a fix in this forum thread.

When I update some of my addons, everytime I open firefox information about update is in new tabs, even "welcome to firefox" is always there in new tab! It's very annoying!Ok I found a solution that worked for me, I simply dragged the user.js and the user.js.BAK to the desktop, before that I had done the same with the prefs.js and prefs.js.BAK, but that didn't help, so it's apparently the user file that was an error with.
