No Update Prompts

It seems like almost every time I open a different CS6 CreativeCloud program, I'm prompted to re-submit my activation. BUT, I see a bunch of updates are coming out for the Mac version (I see this on Macupdate.com, not on my own computer). I do not receive any update prompts on my computer, anywhere. Trying to use Update from the Help menu of any program opens the AAM, which then tells me I'm up to date (I'm not). Opening the Creative Cloud site shows me that I need to install all the programs, although they're already installed.
HOW do I update my software? HOW do I let AAM know that my software is installed on this computer (I STILL want to install it on my laptop, but fear the "over-activation" issue)? HOW do I tell the software I'm licensed, and to leave me alone for a month?
Please help!

It is SO sad how lousy the support for this is. I do know better than to call their "support" group, due to a previous useless phone call I'd made about a different issue (BTW, after that call, I was actually put in touch with a VERY helpful person - but the hoops I had to jump through were ridiculous). But, I was surprised that nobody even here had replied before you did, but I had to imagine I wasn't the only one having the problem.
I did find that new AAM, but it didn't actually help me at all. Same problem - showed my stuff wasn't installed and showed no updates available. So - today I bit the bullet. I re-downloaded all the software through the ACCC (which was what opened when I went to the Update option from one of the software packages). After I did the new re-download, I was able to see a bunch of updates come up ont he AAM, and ran those.
I haven't tried dragging to the dock for the AAM. I'm one of those people who has way too much stuff on my desktop, so it's an alias on my desktop.
Now, I have to find out if the software's going to give me trouble trying to download and activate on my laptop, but hopefully this still only shows as one activation.
Also, with all the updates that got run - Dreamweaver showed that it had updated, but when I open it, it still seems to be the old version! Sheesh!
Gonna look for some posts on that one now.
Thanks for the input and info. I guess misery does love company!

  • Please let us disable update prompts

Forgive me for my frustrated tone (or don't)...
I'm getting so tired of this **bleep**. Why on earth isn't there an option to disable update prompts? Every single time I start up skype I get an update pop-up. Twice. I've searched for solutions, but none of them worked for me. This should just be an option within the client itself, even if hidden under an "advanced" tab to stay in line with how dumb you assume your users are. Possibly the most mind boggling part is how other people on the exact same version don't seem to get any update prompts, nor do I get them on my laptop.
I just do not want your **bleep** update. Why are you trying to force it down my throat? I'm all for security updates but I'm not on board with following the trend of catering your UI to four year olds. I like an interface that's clean and clear and doesn't try so hard to look "hip". The least you could do is add options to use the old interface/disable new """features""".
P.S. While you're at it, stop automatically capitalizing brand names like "Always" in my sentences. And stop making my asterisks bold **bleep**, they already have a different purpose... *sigh*

    Download Skype 7.0
    http://www.skype.com/go/download
go to Tools -> Options -> IM & SMS -> IM Settings -> Compact Chat View (on)
Also View -> Compact Sidebar View (on)
also Tools -> Options -> IM & SMS -> IM Appearance -> Show Oversized Emoticons (off)
and I also recommend Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Security -> Restricted Sites -> Sites -> add g.msn.com and apps.skype.com
    or
    Download Skype 6.21 from http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_6.21.0.104.msi or http.//filehippo.com/download_skype/58884/
Make sure you go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Skype Updater -> set to DISABLED
and I also recommend Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Security -> Restricted Sites -> Sites -> add g.msn.com and apps.skype.com
and add 127.0.0.1 download.skype.com to your host file if you want to go for certain.
Also worth noting that C:\users\youruser\appdata\roaming\skype\shared.xml -> go to <EnableWiki> and turn 1 to 0 to disable the **~~__@@!! thing.

  • Successfully installed OS X Yosemite 10.10, App Store updates prompting me to update to OS X Yosemite Beta 2, OS X Yosemite Beta Recovery Update 1.0

    Good day community people,
I've successfully installed the final release of OS X Yosemite 10.10 on my iMac 21.5" (Late 2012). When I open the Mac App Store to check for updates, the updates prompt me to update OS X Yosemite Beta 2 & OS X Beta Recovery Update 1.0. The question here is, I already installed the latest release on my iMac why how come App Store still stated I need to update to Beta version?
More info on my previous state before installing the final release. I was a Open Public Beta tester of OS X Yosemite but I didn't install it on my iMac, therefore my iMac is upgraded from OS X Mavericks. So by right my procedure is correct. Please assist. Thank you.

It seems no one could answer my question here but I found the solution. There's a bug even after installing the final release that caused the Mac App Store keep on prompting Yosemite Public Beta updates. The only solution is re-download the final version again from Mac App Store and re-install on top of current installation without formatting or erase the hard drive.
    And you're welcome

  • Auto Update Prompt

We're using Windows 7 in Server 2008 AD. We keep getting the update prompt.
I have GPO set up with mms.cfg to be sent to user's machine, with these settings in it:
    AutoUpdateDisable=0
    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1
    AutoUpdateInterval=0
I want to auto update, just silent. How can I get Flash to auto update, and not prompting anyone?

This is one of the many frustrating issues with SCSM. The Enumeration type must match the property type of the field which will be mapped to the answer. Unlike a Simple List where the answer is presented in plain text and stored as a string, the enumeration
is of an explicit MP Enumeration type and must match the mapped property field type. SO, extend the Request Template with a field of the apporpriate List Type.
Dear Microsoft, it would be really nice to have a simple drop down based on an Enumeration and presented as a String, or like above, connected to a DB...or even a CI without the cumbersome grid that accompanies a Query Result.

  • Update prompt not working with version based download

    Hello All,
I have a JWS application and it is deployed on my local server. I want my users to get the Update prompt ( There is an optional update, Do you download it ) when ever there is an update and I am using the version based download(version.xml) while updating my application(Jardiff). The problem here is when i change the version number from 1.1 to 1.2 in the jnlp on the server. (EX: <jar href="application.jar" version="1.2" main="true"/> ) . When the user starts the application from desktop shortcut the Jardiff gets downloaded and patched but there is no update prompt.
The problem here is the JNLP gets refreshed and even though i have the policy = "prompt-update" in update tag( <update check="timeout" policy="prompt-update"> ), i am not getting the update prompt. The update prompt works fine in basic download.
I am facing this problem from quite a long time. I hope some one has got an answer for this.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Suppressing update prompts at launch in Muse CC (Mac)

Is there a way to suppress update prompts at launch in Muse CC (Mac)? Our users can't apply them themselves anyway, so all the prompt does is annoy them and generate complaints. Sadly Muse has it's own separate update mechanism that seemingly can't be suppressed when creating our installers in CCP.

I believe this is specific to viewing on a Retina display. Strictly speaking this isn't a compression issue. The display is fuzzy on a Retina display because the images are at the correct resolution for a non-Retina display.
Retina quality images take 4 times longer to download than non-Retina images.
Muse 4.x had a bug that resulted in many cases where Muse would fail to resize the original image data down to the size it was being used at during the export process. If an original camera image was placed in Muse, this bug in 4.x could result in the full multi-megapixel image being uploaded and thus very slow page load times in the browser. We fixed this bug in Muse 5.0 so the images are now being resampled to the size at which they're being used, but in your case you were relying on this bug to get Retina resolution images uploaded.
We're currently evaluating the alternatives for how to enable the behavior you need, without forcing everyone to take the 4x longer page load times associated with Retina images.
If this is a show stopper for you, you can revert ot Muse 4.1 by running the Adobe Muse Uninstaller on the Mac or removing Adobe Muse via the Control Panel on Windows and then install Muse 4.1 from here.

  • When I signed into iTunes, I did not see an update prompt like I normally do for a new update - I went to the download page, but if I start it will it create a whole new iTunes or just update my current version of 11.0.5?

When I signed into iTunes, I did not see an update prompt like I normally have seen for updates in the past.  When I went to the download page, it looked like it would download a whole new iTunes?  or will it just update the version I currently have, 11.0.5?

Regardless of whether the user utilizes the check for updates features or downloads the update from Apples website, the same process is followed.  The existing version of iTunes is uninstalled and the new version of iTunes is installed.

  • Restoring multiple iPhones, updates prompt with wrong credentials?

    Good morning all,
At my job I am responsible for deploying new iPhones to our users. We recently upgraded all iPhone 4 devices and are giving users iPhone 5c. I connect their old devices to my computer to back them up as a new device, and when I connect their new phone I restore said backup to the phone so they retain their settings and information.
This happened once before and I don't remember the fix. One of the users previously had a personal iTunes account associated with their phone. Someway somehow, that personal account is creeping into the restore for new phones. I just restored a users' phone after backing up their old one, and when they go to the iTunes store and hit updates it prompts for first their account, and then this personal account of another one of our users.
I looked on the phone and don't see anywhere that this is specified. I also looked on my computer and can't find anything. When I'm doing these backup and restores, I'm not signed into iTunes at all. Sadly it isn't my account nor the personal account of that one random user.
Can someone please help this resolve so we can not only update phones, but also alleviate fears that this random user somehow has access to information on the phone (I know they don't)?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your reply Lawrence.
None of the ID's should touch other phones, nor have they ever. When I'm backing up the phones, I don't back up the apps because I would have to authorize my computer on each phone. We don't provide users the password to their iTunes account. Our apps are pushed out through something called Meraki for the most part, and most users don't have any applications installed unless approved by IT.

  • How can I shut off software update prompts

    Hello,
We use iPads - mostly 2nd gens - at some customer sites for tracking times. The devices are in kiosk cases, locked down, no access to the Home button, gestures shut off, etc, etc. Essentially, once on the screen we wanted displayed, there is no option for the average user to get to the homescreen or to perform an update.
However, recently with the release of iOS 7 we had a couple folks at these customer sites call us indicating that an end user had started the upgrade process to iOS7. We'd previously heard of this happening last year as well after iOS6 was released. but with the devices located remotely, we coudn't determine what exactly took place with absolute certainty.
According to ALL the forums posts I've read, there is abosutely no way that an iPad simply updates/upgrades itself - even to just DL'ing the new file - it requires a user to indicate that it should do so.  But we were being told that the iPad prompted them to do so...even though all the forums said that the devices don't prompt.
I've been an iOS user for about 3 years now, and hadn't previously seen a prompt to update iOS...until I turned on one of our local iPads today for some testing...and was greated by an onscreen Alert/prompt for 7.0.2.
    See this image:
So the question I have is - is there a way for me to shut this off? We've already reviewed the Notifications settings - all of which are off.
This seems to be more of a base-OS level notification. The problem is that this prompts up on the screen in the middle of our own desired screen, and allows an end-user to selecte "Details" and then start the installation process for the update, completely by-passing all efforts and steps to prevent the very thing from happening.
If anyone knows how to shut this off, I'd love to know.
    Thanks.

It would appear that my .png image is broken. I'll attempt another screen shot at some point - when I get prompted again.
But I'm absolutely stunned that not one other person has made comment on this. Is NO one else out there experiencing problems of the nature we are? No one else is being prompted for iOS updates that they'd prefer not to get??

  • I followed an update prompt and tried to update my Acrobat 9 pro this am, and my license vanished

I was prompted to update my Acrobat pro 9 (MAC) this morning and my license ceased working.  I dowloaded license repair but cannot proceed since I do not use a password on my computer.  I followed the instructions (deleting certain files) to no avail.  The copy on my backup drive does not work.  I teach a 6-month online course beginning in a few weeks and most of my materials are sent as PDF often with security settings. I really don't want fixing this to take a lot of time.  Dan Hemenway

  • I've gotten a Firefox update prompt twice now that I suspect could be malware. It never connects and the "view more information" link doesn't work. Can you advise?

It's a small window labeled "Software Update" with the Firefox logo. It reads:
It is strongly recommended that you apply this update for Firefox as soon as possible.
The link provided reads: View more information about this update.
The link is inactive and when I tried to update it searched and searched -- the phrase "connecting to . . ." was on-screen for long time, but nothing ever happened. I closed the window, then tried to learn more but the prompt didn't come back until today.

You are not running the latest version of Firefox so it may be a genuine prompt. Try downloading and installing the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/ then see if you still get the prompt.
