No "upload" folder in my Photo Stream on PC

I have no "upload" folder in my Photo Stream on PC.  Saved a video to Photo Stream on PC but not uploading to view on iPhone.
I have uninstalled iCloud on PC and reinstalled and the "Upload" folder (that I assume I need) doesn't appear.
Any suggestions?
Thank you,
mk

Nevermind.... I just discovered through more research that Photo Stream is only for photos, not videos.

I use shared photo streams alot how can I view videos uploaded to a shared photo stream on my mac

You can not at this time - tha tis only an IOS 7 and PC feature today - mayber with future software releases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4379?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
What software versions do I need to be able view and share videos, and contribute to other people's shared streams?
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 7.0 or later
PC with Windows 7 or later and the iCloud Control Panel 3.0 or later
AppleTV (second generation) with Apple TV Software Update 6.0 or later
If the owner of the shared stream has turned on the Public Website option and shares the link with you, you will be able to view videos and see photos and video added by all contributors from any up-to-date browser.

  • Uploading Raw images to photo stream?

How do I upload raw images to photo stream in aperture? I can upload jpeg's, but my raw pictures don't go into photo stream when I add them.

Yes the photo stream seems to be a work in progress.
It's unclear exactly how it is suppose to work and reading the doc's doesn't help much, I've found contradictory information in a number of Apple's docs on the photo stream.
Some talk about a size limit to the stream, some mention that images are removed from the stream after 30 days (which isn't true at least in my case) then there is that one that talks about the number of uploads per hour but states that the information is provisional.
To be safe if there is an image in the stream that is no where else and I want to ensure its safety I will always copy it out of the stream and onto one of my systems.
Hopefully one day they will clarify all this.

  • The upload folder for icloud photos is missing

I see this thread has been posted before (Nov 2013) but no solution.
Its Oct 2014 almost a year later and I have just experienced this problem
A message bubble flashes continuously at the bottom of my screen, yet the icloud folder is still there.
I have tried to create a new folder but it does not allow me to do that either.
Anybody know how to solve this?

I had this problem too when the upload folder was on a network drive.  I've just created a new folder on the C: drive and that solved the problem.

  • WHY I can't dowlaod my photo stream to my pc?

why I CAN'T DOWLAOD MY PHOTO STEAM FROM MY ICLOD ACCOUNT TO MY PC?

    Hello lilireyes,
It sounds like you are trying to setup Photo Stream on your PC.  I recommend following these steps to setup Photo Stream on your PC:
    On a Windows computer
Your computer must have iCloud Control Panel 2.1 or later installed. You can download it athttp://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455.
Open the iCloud Control Panel, then turn on Photo Stream.
To change the default Photo Stream upload and download folders, click Options. Click Change to choose a folder, then click OK.By default, photos are automatically downloaded to the My Photo Stream folder inside the Photo Stream album in your Pictures library, and uploaded from the Uploads folder inside the Photo Stream album in your Pictures library.
To make your changes take effect, click Apply.
When you import photos from a digital camera to the upload folder specified in the iCloud Control Panel, the photos appear automatically in My Photo Stream on your iOS devices and your computers set up with My Photo Stream.

  • Why does my photo uploaded from my PC into the upload Photo Stream folder not show up on my iPhone or iPad?

I just set up iCloud for my new iPhone 4S and iPad2. I have a PC running Windows 7. I have downloaded the iCloud for Windows 7 software. In experimenting with iCloud, I see the pictures that I took on my iPad and iPhone have been streamed to my PC, no problems there; however, I have been trying to upload only one picture (.jpg format) from my PC to iCloud and it does not show up on my iPhone or my iPad. I moved the picture into the upload folder in Photo Stream manually from my PC. I have read and reread the directions several times and I cannot see that I am missing any steps, but the picture does not show up. Has anyone else had this problem and been successful in overcoming it?
    Thanks for your help.

Before I did that my photos weren't showing up in the photo stream but in my FB app if I choose to upload a pic from photo stream they were there. Weird.
and it has worked for me....many many thanks Nikkimc813

  • Photo Stream PC-error message "applephotostreams.exe has stopped working" and now additional photos that I want to upload is not uploading.

I sync my devices with a PC running windows.  I have turned on Photo Stream on my PC, iPhone4S & iPad2.
On my PC it creates two default folders in Pictures called "My Photo Stream" and "Upload".
Instructions says that you can add photos to the "Upload" folder and it will automatically upload to your "My Photo Stream" folder and when your devices are connected to wi-fi they will upload to each device and show up in the "Photo Stream" section of Photos.
I was able to upload 50 photos but then I got an error message that applephotostreams.exe has stopped working.
    How do I fix?

I was having the same problem.  Earlier in the week, I was able to drag a few photos to the upload folder and they synced correctly.  Yesteday, I dragged different photos, and I got the "applephotostream.exe has stopped working" error.
The solution - for me, at least! - was to reduce the size of the pictures being uploaded to the photostream.  While all of the pictures were jpegs, the first set were ca. 800K (3800 x 2500), and the second set were ca. 2.5 MB (4000 x 2000).  When I reduced the resolution of the last set by a factor of 4 (ca. 600 K, 2000 x 1500), they uploaded without a hitch.
Based on this admittedly sketchy experiment, it looks like Apple has a max picture size limit, apparently based on file size rather than picture resolution).  Perhaps < 1 MB?  To be rigorous, I should complete the experiment - leave the resolution of the second set of pictures alone and reduce file size by reducing jpeg quality.
Has anyone heard about a picture file size limit?

  • HT201077 I shared a photo stream of 174 pictures but only 20 are showing up in the folder that was sent out. Any solutions?

I shared a photo stream of 174 pictures but only 20 are showing up in the folder that was sent out. Any solutions?
    Help much appreciated!

Upload to the shared Photo Streams can take a long time. Sometimes hours. Did the photos appear by now in the stream?
Is the iCloud status o.k. ( iCloud Support webpage)?
Did you share from your mac or from a mobile device? And where are you checking the stream? On your Mac? If you are uploading from a mobile device - is the battery fully charged? Uploading to the Photo Stream is the first that will be suspended, if the device needs charging.
have ypu exceeded any limits? Daily hourly upload rates? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4858

  • Photos are not showing anymore in Photo Stream folder even though they are there.

A couple of days ago my Photo Stream folder in iPhoto was suddenly empty. I checked and Photo Stream is switched on. I disabled it and switched it back on. Now You can see that Photo Stream is importing the images but when iPhoto is done, there are no photos in the folder. When taking a pic with my Mac it uploads as well into Photo Stream and shows up on my iPhone but in iPhoto Photo Stream still nothing.
I tried manually adding pics but it tells me they are already there. Very strange.
I also know that Photo Stream itself is working because it works to use Photo Stream as a screen saver and there all the pics show. So it must be a problem with iPhoto. I also did all the repair options for the Media Library that you can do when starting iPhoto. Nothing has changed the situation.
    Anyone any suggestions?

Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • Photo Stream Upload - Bypass iPhoto & Aperture

It's easy to get photos from a device to the computer, Photo Stream handles that automatically, but...
Long story short, I just want to be able to drop any image from my computer to my Photo Stream via a sync folder. Simple no?
I can use Aperture or iPhoto to add photos to Photo Stream, but Aperture feels bloated and slow, I'd rather just be able to add an image to a Photo Stream folder and have it be automatically added to my Photo Stream.
I have found something close in this article, which allows you to easily search & pull photos from Photo Stream, but I still haven't found out how to simply add them, so they go to my iOS devices too, without iPho
    http://bit.ly/KpIjzP
I tried making an additional folder in the Photo Stream folder and adding images there, but it's not working.
    Anyone have a solution here?
    Thanks!
    Using OS Mavericks 10.9

Can't be done.  One needs iPhoto or Aperture to connect with the iCloude servers and upload photos to them.
If you want to add photos to your iPhone without going thru iPhoto do the following:
1 - put them in a folder on your hard drive
2 - connect the iPhone to the Mac.
    3 - launch iTunes.
4 - click on your iPhone under Devices.
    5 - click on Photos.
6 - check Sync Photos From and select Choose folder....
7 - navigate to the folder with the image files you want to put on your iPhone and select it.
8 - sync with your iPhone.
You're gateway to the iPhone is iTunes.

    mlvov,
I did as you said and went to the icloud control panel on my Windows 8 Laptop to be sure I was looking at the correct folder for my photo stream.  All my "shared" albulms pushed to my Laptop and are up-to-date with the exception of the "photostream" album. If I create a "shared stream album" and place photo's in it on the phone; I can see the photos on my laptop. I dont get it. I had a iphone 4s and had zero isues and now with my new nifty iPhone 5s it doesent work.
What am I not doing correctly.

  • No photos in the photo stream folder

I don't see any photos on my iPad 2 in the Photo stream folder after I have started to photo app several times. When I disable the photo stream function, restart the iPad and activate photo stream again It works. But only for a moment until I change to another subject like place, face etc. I have no problems with Photo stream on my iPhone, ATV or Mac Mini. Any suggestions?

  • IOS 7 is prevented from uploading to Photo Stream by some apps

I have found that some apps such as LINE and Facebook Camera prevent iOS 7 from uploading photoos to my Photo Stream.
    The phenominum is the followings:
    1. Take some photos by camera app of iPhone.
    2. Uploading the photos to LINE or Facebook by the apps.
    3. These photos won't appear in my Photo Stream.
I turned off the Photo Stream in Preference and then turned on it.
However, the photos never appeared in my Photo Stream.
I don't think I had experienced this phenominun until I updated to iOS 7.
I guess it might be a bug of iOS 7.

That's probably what I'm going to do as well, until either Apple gets its PhotoStream act (back?) together, or until I switch all to Loom. Since I use Aperture mainly for organizing my pics, and only occasionally edit Sony RAW files (hence no LightRoom), this kind of solution becomes increasingly probable – and attractive, too, since my Aperture library is by far the largest disk space user, even though I have all originals on an external SSD.
About the only thing I'd probably miss, is a native non-webbrowser photo app on OSX. On the other hand, I certainly will not miss Aperture's 1.5GB+ RAM usage, and all-too-frequent crashes under Maverick.

  • Folder in photo stream won't load

I created a folder in my photo stream to be used solely as a screen saver on my Apple TV. About half of the 320 pictures appear on the screen and when screen saver initiates, the screen remains blank. Please help.

Do you mean you created a shared photo stream? Did you make sure to select those photos by going to settings - screensaver on your ATV?
Also note, only a small portion of the cache is used for the screensaver (typically will hold around 100 photos)

  • IPhoto Stalls While Uploading Photos To Shared Photo Stream

    Hi,
I'm running OSX Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5.
I created a new Event in iPhoto and imported my photos.
I selected all images (71 off) and clicked Share -> iCloud.
I created a new shared Photo Stream and invited subscribers.
Photos began appearing in the Photo Stream, but only six photos appeared, not the full set of 71.
To try to fix the issue,
    I left it overnight.
    I restarted iPhoto.
    I restarted iMac.
I either removed the photos from the Photo Stream or deleted the Photo Stream itself—can't remember which.
Depending on which action I took in the previous point, I either selected all the photos in the Event again and shared them to the same Photo Stream or I created another, new Photo Stream and shared all the photos to it.
Photos began appearing in the Photo Stream, but only 15 photos appeared, not the full set of 71.
Any idea how to get the remaining photos to upload to the shared Photo Stream.
    Thanks,
    Ken.

    Hi,
Okay, I did some searching here on the forums and found this post by Old Toad.
I followed his instructions and it fixed my issue.
    Old Toad recommended:
Disabling Photos in System Preferences -> iCloud
Disabling My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Streams in iPhoto's Preferences.
    Reboot machine.
Re-enabling Photos in System Preferences -> iCloud
Re-enabling My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Streams in iPhoto's Preferences.
In addition, I did the following in iPhoto,
Deleted the 15 photos in the shared Photo Stream.
Selected all the photos in the Event and shared them to the existing shared Photo Stream, i.e. I didn't re-create a new Photo Stream at this stage.
All photos uploaded successfully to the stream in approximately 10-15 minutes.  Issue solved.
Hope this helps anyone with the same or a similar issue.
    Regards,
    Ken.
