No usb mouse/keyboard detection on K8n Diamond

My logitech ultrax wireless media desktop ( infrared combined reciever,  only one usb port) does not be detected with a computer reboot .
When i switch  in the bios" usb mouse detection" at disable ( or !!) enable, it works for a while but a few reboots later is stops working again.
Already updated and reinstalled the driver.
someone with the solution ??
Thanks
Hans

Hi,
My first question is...why so many re-boots?
I have a wireless USB K/B and mouse similar to yours.
If my system ever froze (it no longer does this btw) on restarting the PC the K/b would not be seen in BIOS startup.
You can solve this by doing the following after turning off your PC.
Simply reach around the back of your PC and switch off the PSU power switch for at least 10 seconds.
Then turn it back on and power up the system using the regular power switch on the front of the case.
Voila...the system sees the keyboard...without the need for a CMOS reset.
It all has something to do with the PSU maintaining power to the USB ports/devices when the PC is shutdown...this is for components such as USB modems/routers or similar devices.
It takes a PSU power down to reset the relevant USB component circuitry.
Meanwhile, there might be an issue with your system stability if you keep having to reboot.

  • Macbook pro Late 2011 13.3 inch i7 keyboard and trackpad not working bluetooth showing a cross sign and no usb mouse is detected. Almost dead keyboard and mouse. Earlier same problem used to be solved by opening the lower cover and closing it.

My macbook pro 13.3 inch i7 late 2011 edition has previously encountered unresponsive trackpad and keyboard. To solve that, I used to open the back cover and then close it. It has been working fine since that. Yesterday, same thing happened, this time I noticed that bluetooth icon is showing a cross sign across it and keyboard and trackpad were unesponsive. After some time , everything worked fine and bluetooth sign was back to normal. Then , suddenly it went back to the problem. I shut it down by holding the power button. When I booted it again, I could not login because keyboard and trackpad were not working. I attached a HP mouse it didnt work. I opened the back cover disconnected the battery and then connected it again, didnt worked. Since then , I have tried many things and nothing has solved the problem.

    @sanjampet
As you suggested I reset the smc, in the first boot nothing worked. In the second boot, it all worked like a charm. I thought that my problem is resolved now. To test it, I shut it down properly. Next morning, I powered it on, all things i.e, keyboard, trackpad, bluetooth etc. worked and I thought that problem has been solved. When I was just going to visit apple forum to reply you,  the same problem reappeared. A sawtooth cross over bluetooth icon, keyboard not working, trackpad not working,no usb mouse working which worked well when it was fine. I reset smc so many times again and again but same problem continued. Isn't it a problem of the firmware?
Next time when it will work, I will update its firmware.
My macbook was bought in dec2011 so no warranty now.

  • Custom kernel (2.6.31) - USB Mouse & Keyboard not working [solved]

So I've just recompiled the new kernel (2.6.31) as a custom, as is my custom!
USB Mouse and keyboard no worky (but do as PS/2).
As a quick thing to check - what kernel .config settings haven't I enabled properly? A quick check though and everything SEEMS to be in order.
The stock 2.6.31 kernel works fine with the USB inputs.
    Thanks in advance.
[solved] I realised I was operating off an older kernel26 package (2.6.30), so synching abs and rebuilding using the 2.6.31 package and leaving a few more stock options enabled, seems to have worked.

sry, idk how to get the error output of a compiled package via mkpkg. i know its a weird error...
has anyone tryed to open my kerenel configuration with a graphical cofiguration font end, and to see if the 3945 wireless module is marked as module? when i do it its not aviable. maybe today ill find some time to do the config and compile...
    my arch: x86 ; core duo; pentium m (kernel-processor-type); -march=prescott -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer
yeah, config from testing *.31 works fine, but the job needs to be done to strip out all useless stuff out of that general kernel

  • USB Mouse, Keyboard not recognized in Windows

    Hello,
I have just installed Windows 7 Home Premium on my late 2012 iMac, the installation seems to have gone well except that after running the Bootcamp setup program Windows restarted and now does not recognize any mouse/keyboard - USB mouse and keyboeard as well as Magic Trackpad/Bluetooth keyboard are unresponsive. They worked before the restart, and also work in Safe mode.
Has anyone had/fixed this issue, or can direct me to instructions to help? I've looked over the forum and not found same issue. I'm assuming any fix would have to work in Safe mode as I can't do anything in Normal mode!
    USB port issue?
I'm also assuming I will have to separately fix the Trackpad/Apple Keyboard issue, but first just want to get basic USB devices working.
    Thanks!

Good News: I got it working OK.  Not sure exactly what fixed it, but will list what was done differently in case it helps someone else.
    1. Did a clean install from the Windows 7 Pro x64 disk I had purchased.  The first time I had used an ISO image downloaded from the Internet (not MS site) to create the thumb drive installer, per Bootcamp 4 instructions.
    2. Updated the Windows install using MS Update.  I had to install some drivers I found on the Bootcamp disk I made the previous time.  Those drivers were anything relative to Network and WiFi, so I was able to access the Internet.  Before that I couldn't connect.
    3. After the above, I repeated the download process that downloades the Windows support software for Bootcamp and made a new CD.
    It worked.
I still find the service from Microsoft and even Apple to be an exercise polite but useless finger pointing.  Neither organization wanted to help me.  As with most tech support groups, the object is to get rid of the problem if possible by blaming someone else.  Imagine what might have happened if the Apple tech would have actually conferenced me on a call to Microsoft!  Tech support is non-existent for Bootcamp.
Drop a line to [email protected] if you need anything explained about the above.  Cheers.  -John

  • Can I use a USB mouse/keyboard over wifi?

So I'm pretty sure this won't work with an Airport Extreme's usb port but I want to be able to use my mouse and keyboard over wifi through my router. I found some USB servers that I think might do this, (http://tinyurl.com/nr478z, http://tinyurl.com/dc8ph7) but I'm not sure if these will support a mouse and keyboard. It seems like I could just plug these into the Airport through ethernet and just configure them to send the mouse, but..... they all only mention printers and hard drives and such. Does anyone have any experience with these type of products and if they will work for this?
    Thanks

    Welcome to the discussions!
Your hunch is correct. The USB port will work with compatible printers and hard drives, but not other devices.

  • Usb mouse keyboard

    Hello,
I only have usb-3.0 (ss) ports. Every devices works fine (for example -usb-sticks, ext. hdds, umts-modem, etc...) - except mouse and keyboard.   There is always an error message while I connect them.

I used a standard USB keyboard on a Yoga Tab Pro and it worked ok. You will need to use an OTG cable and that only has one input so it was keyboard or mouse (maybe there are OTG with more than one) Bluetooth might be a better option. I also tested Microsoft Wedge bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Both of those worked fine.

  • USB Mouse / Keyboard doesn't work after resuming from hibernate

I am using a USB device that splits out to 2 PS2 ports, one for a mouse, one for a keyboard. It works great, but when I put my X61 into hibernate, the mouse and keyboard do not work when I resume from hibernate.
I installed all the relevant patches and power manager drivers from the driver downloads page, but my mouse still doesn't work.
Can someone point me to the correct download or shed some light on this?
    Thank you!

I have this same problem with this same device. It is a "composite USB device".
What I've notice is that the problem happens mostly with USB 1.1 ports. When the device is connected to a USB 2.0 port the problem doesn't happen always.
It depends on the computer though. I added a PCMCIA USB 2.0 adaptor to my laptop that has USB 1.1 only. And when I connect the USB-to-PS/2 cable to the USB 2.0 my mouse sometimes work after suspend/hibernate but sometimes doesn't.
However, on my other desktop computer, which has integrated USB 2.0 ports, this problem has never happened (I haven't tested it exhaustively though).
This is a Windows bug of course. Everything related to USB 1.1 support is buggy in Windows. One more example is the annoying (and possibly catastrophic) "Delayed write error" that appears when you use a external hard drive plugged to a USB 1.1 port.
I guess M$ is focusing their efforts on making USB 2.0 to work well and they have forgotten about USB 1.1. Or it could a problem related to "USB composite devices", hard to know.

  • USB Mouse & Keyboard freezes with USB KVM after a while

Looks like connecting and disconnecting USB keyboard & mouse using USB hub causes some processes to freeze - the mouse and keyboard stop responding and you cannot log out or restart the OS X. Anybody else has the same issue?

I found what the issue was - it was not Apple or KVM, but logitech software that I installed to handle my trackball. Uninstalling the software fixed this issue. So the conclusion is - USB KVM works great with MacBook, but Logitech software is junk.

  • HT2347 USB mouse not detected

I just got my new Mac mini today and when trying to set it up, I keep getting asked to turn on my Magic Mouse or my trackpad.  I didn't buy either yet, as I figured I would use my old wired mouse for now.  Any thoughts on why it won't detect my mouse?  Te mouse is getting power... The laser is red underneath.
    Help!

Thanks RRFS, that's an interesting thought.  The mouse is pretty old.  I'll try something newer tomorrow... We'll see what kind of mood I'm in when I go to best buy.  I might just suck it up and get the track pad now.  Will let you know.

  • A4Tech USB mouse detected as Joystick

I hope there isn't a duplicate to this, I couldn't find one, but my searching skills aren't exactly superb.
Hello, I'm trying to play FEZ on steam but the game is unplayable due to, what appears to be, my mouse being picked up as a joystick by steam.
Currently the game behaves as if the walk-left key was stuck, and loads as if a gamepad(which I don't have and there aren't any other input devices other than the keyboard or mouse) was plugged in.
Based on the console output from Dota2(which happily behaves <3 doto never fails me)
Found joystick 'A4TECH USB Device' (03000000da0900006690000011010000), but no recognized controller configuration for it.
I found that the issue might be my USB mouse being detected as a joystick, and so I followed their suggestions to fix the issue with no results.
    Things I tried:
Deleting the /dev/input/js0 that was being created, I gather, because of the mistaken id.(source)
Disabling via xinput everything A4TECH except for the one that actually allows me to use the mouse.(source)
Disabling via xinput the mouse and key events.(source)
    xinput list output:
    $ xinput list

⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]

    Hi!
I use A4Tech mouse. With latest updates, appeared the same problem
Searching, I found a solution that helped me. you should also help.
I have a game FEZ, same problem. Games use /dev/input/event*. Removing unnecessary. the problem will be solved.
Yes, I understand that this is a hack, and not the normal fix.
The mouse is defined as 2 devices, the second we need to remove.

Use this rule and should all work. FEZ now works correctly.

  • Ultra 10 with KVM and usb Sun keyboard

    Hi,
I have 4 servers, two ultra 10, a Sun Fire V880 and a Sun Fire V250, I want all of them to be controlled form a KVM which has support of Ultra 10 platforms, that is, i have two cables with sun 6 tyoe keyboard and mouse. To the KVM i have attached USB keyboard and mouse.
The problem is that the two Ultra 10 servers won't react to the keyboard presses or mouse movements. Is there a way to configure the Ultra 10 servers to work fine with the keyboard and mouse attached to the kvm? is it a kvm problem or a USB mouse/keyboard problem?
    thanks!!

    Thanks Michael,
I had previously am Advovent KVM and everything worked nicely, with a type 6 sun keyboard and mouse. Now i changed to a blackbox kvm which supports this type of SUN keyboard/mouse. But i'm using now Sun USB keyboard and mouse. I can admin the Ultra 10 workstations remotely or though console, but i would love to have keyb/mouse access as I allways had.
I wonder if there is some incompatibility between the Ultra 10 workstations and the Sun USB keyboard and mouse or if it is just something related to the KVM... i could try and buy Sun keyb. type of connector from the keyb/mouse to the KVM and if it works that would mean that the Ultra 10 didn't like the USB devices indeed, but before wasting the money i would like to know if there is some kind of patch i could try on the Ultra 10 systmes to see if they support the USB devices... would a OS upgrade make the work also (let's say, to Solaris 10)?

  • NF 980 PS2 Mouse & Keyboard PS2 IC just stopped working.

Hello, My PS2 Mouse & Keyboard intergrated circuit connections just stopped working. My Rig is only 6weeks old & was using Win 7 Ultimate 64bit. Everything was fine untill yesterday. all of a sudden the connections don't work. I tried doing a system restore. rebooted several times, unplugged & reconnected both mouse & Keyboard plugs to the PS2 connections & still not being recognized at boot up. I plugged in a USB Mouse & Keyboard adaptor & is working fine. I'm thinking something happend to the IC chip. Are these Mobo's known for this problem? I don't think I'm going to RMA the Mobo unless something else happens.
Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

    Hey Fredrik,
Thank you very much. All I did was shut down & remove the power plug like you suggested & removed the USB Mouse/Keyboard adaptor, & plugged back into the PS2 IC Connections, & it's working great.
     Could you explain what happen?
    Hi,
Keyboards and mice have electronic circuitry.  When you just reboot or reset the machine, voltage still goes to the peripherals like the keyboard and mouse.
It sounds like, for some reason, the keyboard and mouse got into a non-working state, but when you rebooted or reset your machine, since power was still going to the keyboard and mouse, they didn't get reset.
When you unplugged the power, that removed power from everything (well, almost), including the peripherals, so that would've reset the keyboard and mouse.
If you have an external/USB hard drive, you can see this behavior by watching the drive light.  When you shutdown your machine, the drive light will stay on, unless you unplug from the wall, or flip the switch on the back of the power supply.

  • USB mouse and keyboard don't work on HP Pavilion g7 2203sd, Windows 8.1.

It is not possible to use a USB mouse or keyboard on the HP Pavilion g7 2203sd notebook running Windows 8.1.
A wireless mouse used to work (already some time ago), but now wired or wireless mouse and keyboard don't work any more.
I have tried removing USB devices in the Windows Device Manager and let Windows detect them again, but it does not work.
I read somewhere that it might have to do with the xHCI USB controller that is installed.
I tried removing that and connecting the USB mouse but no succes.
I also looked for driver updates or something to disbale in the BIOS (like xHCI), but nothing found for that.
Can anybody help me with this problem.

  • Mid 2010 no USB Mouse or keyboard power? HELP!!

I bought a mid 2010 Mac Pro 2.8ghz Nahalem from the apple store over 1 month ago. After two weeks I had a five minute issue where after I rebooted, the mouse & keyboard would not respond. One quick reboot, the mouse and keyboard had power. Now I have a TV show I have to get to the station for tomorrow and I"m having this issue again and I've rebooted five times with no luck. I"m desperate here and I need to get this working. I did buy some new RAM from the Apple store, 4GB DDR3 PC3 240 pin 512MX72-8500 ECC. I put it in with the other three 1 gig sticks for 7gigs of RAM. Rebooted, no keyboard or mouse power. shut down, re-arranged the sticks in various configurations and even went back to just the three 1 gig sticks and again, the computer will boot up, get to the login window, but no power to the keyboard or my wireless mouse or should I say not responding and no caps lock light at all. Can I not have this RAM configuration and it blew something out? The bluetooth mouse battery was changed and I checked my keyboard which has a wired connection. It is fine. I even moved it to other USB slots. No go. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a PMU reset switch on these new mac models? I've been editing forever on a dual 1.6gh PowerMac with no problems. Rock solid. Now I'm on this Nahalem and this no keyboard or wireless mouse communication is killing me with this deadline. I NEED HELP!!!

After installing Windows 7 did you also install the Chipset Driver, Intel ME Driver, Keyboard and Mouse Driver and the USB 3 Driver?  If you didn't then that would account for the various hardware items not being recognized.  Always install the Intel Drivers first and then the rest.
