No USB when connect Ally to MAC

Hello,
Am I the only Ally owner in the world who has an iMAC? When I connect via USB there is no USB msg. on notification bar.
There are no drivers for MAC on lgmobilephones.com site. Do I need a driver?Do I have to format the card? What do I do?
Why is this such a mystery? I want to transfer files to the phone from my computer.
Thanks,
Rich

I have provided some information below that will help with mounting your device with a Mac.
If your SD card is saying busy or not showing up in the notification bar, I would review the following sections:
***Please note a SD card is required.
Step 1 - Mounting your SD card (if you have an existing SD card)
-Select your menu key
-Select settings
-Select SD card & phone storage
-Mount SD card (if Unmount is showing, it should be already recognized and may need to be formatted)
If step 1 worked, you can put the device in Mass Storage mode so that the computer will recognize your device. I have provided the instructions below.
http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=32304
Step 2 - Formatting the SD card ***If step 1 did not resolve the issue
***Caution, if there is information already on the SD card, it will be erased. The step for formatting is below:
http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=32372
Step 3 - Lastly, if step 2 does not work, I would recommend removing the SD card, and placing it back in. I have provided the instructions below:
http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=32041
***you may also want to try another USB port on the Mac (if available).

  • When connected to my Mac my iPad says "not charging", but it does seem to sync.  What am I doing wrong?

My iPad says "not charging" when connected to my Mac, but it does seemo sync.  What am I missing?

A lot of computers (especially older ones) generally do not provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.

I assume you're talking about using the Apple cable with either component or composite cables. On a non-HD TV, the quality is quite good. I'm not sure what you mean about picture size. It doesn't letter box anything, if that's what you mean. Used to do it a lot when I went away for the weekend. It was an easy way to take iTunes rental movies with me and watch them on a big screen. I've never tried with my HD TV because i haven an Apple TV and there's no need.
    Best of luck.

  • IPod only charges when connect to the Mac

My iPod will only charge when connected to the Mac.  It will not charge on any other cable or docking station.  And, yes, I have tested the various cables and docking stations with other devices and the issue is clearly only with this one device.  I am note sure what generation the device is, but it is old enough that it cannot run iOS 7.  It is on iOS 6.1.5.
    Thanks

Then it seems that the other sources do not work satisfactorily. Do the other charging sources charge other devices?

  • Nothing happens when connect iTouch to mac - is the cable already dead?

Last week when I connected my (4 week old) touch to the right-side usb port, nothing happened, but then it connected fine to the left-sided port; bit funny I thought, but got on with my syncing etc. Today, nothing happens when I connect on either side. Do I have a problem with the USB cable?
Thanks in advance for any help...

Macs can get USB errors just like any other computer. Try restarting or shutting down and restarting and then try syncing again.

  • Ipad air 2 locked with passcode message when connected to iTunes (mac), but it is unlocked

When I connect my new iPad air 2 via lightning cable to my Mac I get the message to unlock my iPad air 2 in order to connect, download photos, etc.
But my iPad air 2 is unlocked and displaying the home screen.  I have tried switching USB ports, restarting the iPad air 2 and resetting by holding the power & home button down, but neither of these fixes the issue.  Any suggestions?

Yes, but I was able to fix the problem by restarting my Mac.  Guess I should have tried that first
    Thanks for the quick response.

  • TS2634 1st gen iPad has suddenly quit showing that it's charging.  I found that if it's shut it down and plugged in for 12+ hours, it will charge, but when in use, the battery drains quickly.  When connected to the Mac, it doesn't link with iTunes.

Is this a problem that can be easily fixed?  I'm guessing it's a problem with the charger connector, possibly??

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Black screen when connecting iPod to Mac

When I connect my iPod to my Mac i have this "Do Not Disconnect" screen appearing but I can barely see it... It's really faded out... Can somebody tell me why?

I would take it back to the store and exchange it before it's too late.

  • IPhone 4 won't play music in car when through USB when connected to Bluetooth aswell.

    Hi Guys
Could someone help me. My iphone connects to my car through a USB connector and works fine. When I also connect to my car Bluetooth the sound dissapears after a minute or so. My display still shows the song playing but no sound. I can still go through play lists change track etc but no noise. If I unplug the cable and plug back in again it will work again and after another minute or so the sound cuts out again. Sometimes it won't play at all.
It seems to work fine if the bluetooth isn't connected although I have not tested this extensively.
I have tried in 2 other cars to make sure it isn't a fault with the car and I get the same result.
It isn't linked to any software upgrade.
Has anybody else heard of this or know a solution????
    Thanks
    Michael.

    Hi
Just to update for the last time. I have realised that if the bluetooth is paired to the car the music sound either does not play or plays for around a minute then cuts out. This still happens even if I disconnect the bluetooth connection. However if I delete the phone completely out at the car and cancel the pairing, the music plays fine no issues.
I guess somehow it is therefore based around the bluetooth. I have checked all menus I can find on the car and the phone to make sure there is no setting wrong somewhere. I cannot understand why it plays for a short time and then stops, seems like an intermittant fault ???
    Thanks
    Michael.

  • My monitor won't enter power save when connected to my mac mini via HDMI

I have a mac mini connected to my Samsung monitor and when the computer goes to sleep, the monitor just sits there with "no signal" on the screen.  Usually it would go to sleep at this point, but in this case it doesn't.

    thanks for your suggestions.
i found the solution/workaround from somone else on the adobe forums:
Go to control  panel, display, screen saver, choose a random screen saver, set a long time  (i.e. 60 min, but always longer than your monitor shut off time), then select no  screen saver, and save! Simple as that…

  • Wifi gets down, when connect to my MAC

When I connect my MAC to my wifi's home... the wifi connection gets down...(the network appears and disappears in all of the devices that are already online)... I must restar at least 2 times the MAC to get connected.

I'm suddenly having a similar problem: I'm running Mac OS 10.7.3, iTunes 10.5.3 and iOS 5.0.1. When I plug in my iPhone, system.log reports:
    Feb 18 16:29:51 lianaslaptop com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.usbmuxd[685]): posix_spawn("/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Versions/ A/Resources/usbmuxd", ...): No such file or directory

Feb 18 16:29:51 lianaslaptop com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.usbmuxd): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
When I go to that location, sure enough - there is no usbmuxd. I haven't been messing with my system, I've never poked around in places like this!

  • Loosing connection on usb when connecting blackberry to Desktop Manager

Im trying to transfer pictures and software into my blackberry 8800 and I have the Desktop manager opened first, but when I plug my Usb cable into my blackberry it detects it, then it shows it disconnected. It keeps looping over and doing the same thing. I also updated my chipset drivers and still no luck, is there any way to fix this problem ?

Have you tried resetting the device by removing the battery for a minute then replacing it? Also check out this KB article: Troubleshooting USB Connections

  • IPhone locks up when connected to computer (Mac or Windows)

    Hello fellow iPhone owners,
My iPhone started to have this issue starting yesterday and I am quite baffled atm. When I connect my iPhone to a computer, whether or not it's a Mac or Windows, it begins to charge and behaves normally at first. However, few minutes in, the phone vibrates twice and the loading circle appears dead center in between all the app icons. The loading circle spins, but the entire phone is pretty much locked and in interval of 10-15 seconds the phone will vibrate twice.
This initially did not allow my Mac to open up iTunes, so I deleted all my podcasts as suggested from the intranet which helped the iTunes issue. Yet, the phone continues to lock up with the loading screen. I also tried doing a hardreset pressing the Lock and Home button multiple times with no avail.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Your phone will not appear like an attached hard drive. But it should appear in iTunes. iTunes 10.7 or later and Mac OSX 10.6.8 or later are required.
Start iTunes on your Mac. If its iTunes 11 use the View menu to View Sidebar. Connect your iPhone. The phone should appear in the sidebar. Select your phone and use the row of tabs in the right side window to make selections.
