No users are being migrated to the Unified Contact Store (UCS) for Lync 2013 - Exchange 2013

I'm having difficulty getting the unified contact store to work on a migrated Lync/Exchange environment. Both servers have been upgraded to 2013 CU2, and almost everything appears to be working properly...except UCS.
By default the global CsUserServicesPolicy has UcsAllowed set to True. In that mode, none of the Lync users were being migrated to UCS, so I set the global policy to False and created a new Policy called "AllowUCS" and set UcsAllowed to True. I then
assigned that policy to myself and a couple other test accounts. Still, my contacts are not being migrated to the UCS after logging in with Lync 2013.
Other Lync/Exchange integration features are working properly. I have set up OAuth, and it tests successfully, and Lync integration with OWA is working successfully, so I know at least some communication is happening properly between the servers.
Here is what I'm getting when I run some diagnostics from the Lync server:

Please make sure the user has been provisioned with an Exchange 2013 mailbox and has signed into the mailbox at least once.
If the user logs in with a Lync 2010 or earlier client, or if the user is not connected to an Exchange 2013 server, the user services policy is ignored and the user's contacts remain in Lync Server.
Please also check the registry key on the client computer:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\<SIP URL>\UCS
If the user's contacts are stored in Exchange 2013, this key contains a value of InUCSMode with a value of 2165.

    We are using a Group Policy object to map network drives to our users.  We are getting reports that the user are being logged into their desktop before the drives are mapped, causing a program that points to the mapped drive to not be able to access
    files on that drive.  Once the user goes into Computer and double clicks on the drive, they are then able to see the files on the drive and the program is able to access them as well.
    We have added another GPO to institute the "Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon" policy to try to fix the issue, but it has not solved our problem.

    Experiencing weird issues with getting UCS working in one environment (including OWA/IM and UM). Event Source: LS Storage Service - Event ID: 32043
    I've had no issues with UCS in other environments with multiple 2013 Mailbox servers and multiple 2013 CAS servers. This particular environment is having issues. I do have Exchange split with MBX and CAS.
    I Followed all procedures from TechNet, NextHop, etc. I am Running same oAuth cert on all exchange and lync boxes.
    I still have Lync 2010 and Exchange 2010 in the environment, since I'm in the middle of a coexistence migration but don't really want to cut over to new servers until the Lync 2013 to Exchange 2013 integration is complete and tested.

    I have had a case opened with MS for weeks now and have torn down and rebuilt the config several times - the certificates should solid all around including using servers' FQDNs in the SN instead of just somewhere in the SAN list and using just the domain as
    the SN for the oAuth certs (using the exact same cert on both Lync and Exchange for oAuth)
    Any comments would be greatly appreciated

    I fixed the issue
    It had to do with the Lync server still trying to access the old CAS server
    For internal URLs on both CAS servers I am using the internal name, however the external url is https://webmail.domain.com
    On both servers and internally that DNS record points to the old CAS server since we haven't cut over users yet
    This was affecting the connection process some how Lync was using the external URL instead of the internal URL to connect to EWS
    I was able to see with a packet sniffer that Lync frontend was trying to communicate with both the new CAS server and the old CAS server
    When connecting to auto discovery it was connecting to the right CAS server, but after receiving the Autodiscover.xml it started connecting to webmail.ushworls.com (not EXCAS02)
    I create an entry in the local HOST file on the Lync Front end server and pointed webmail.domain.com to the new CAS server
    Issue Fixed – I can remove the entry from the host file after we make the DNS change internally and cut over users

  • Everyone Except External users are unable to access the subsites

    We have a SharePoint online site, in which we have given read permissions to
    Everyone Except External Users in the parent site. Now, the users are able to access the parent site. But for sub sites, we have stopped inheriting permissions from the parent site and have given read permissions to Everyone Except External Users in
    sub sites as well. But users are unable to access the sub sites. They are getting access denied message.
    Can any one help me to resolve the problem?

    Hi,
    Please check below links. They encountered similar issues and they had some assets (Page Layout or master page) checked out by users in sub site due to which users with read permission could not access.

    I noticed that some of recent updates in skype for mac started to be too clever with links I post in conversations - it tries to fetch the content, parse it and present some small excerpt if it in the conversation.  But I mostly message links to closed sites - like Google Docs or internal knowledge base - and they require logging in. So, I know mostly see in my conversations with collegues something like this. How can I disable this behavior? I want to see plain links, I do not need this supersmart parsing.  

    Well, I want to see IMAGES in the chat (i.e. someone transmits actual image data), but I don't want to see WEB PREVIEWS (previews of web pages, or the picture an image URL points to) in the chat. Data is data, and a link is a link. Data should be displayed, and links should remain links. If someone wants me to see a web page, they should make a screen grab to their local computer, and then send me the picture as an image. Otherwise they should send me a link, which then I can peruse at my own convenience (which usually includes first scrubbing the link of any identifying trailing garbage.)
    As a matter of fact, I don't want Microsoft/Skype to PARSE ANYTHING that I transmit.
    Just as automatic loading of remote images in HTML e-mail messages constitutes a major security risk and privacy breach, so does this web preview function.
    I have absolutely no intention to disclose who I'm conversing with and what we talk about, but if someone sends me a link that hasn't been properly "cleaned up", then the site will know who sent me the link, who received it, what the conversation might have been about etc. and that information is sent without my consent.
    I have ZERO tolerance for Microsoft's lack of sensitivity to privacy, and where we users are being stripped naked to prying eyes, all in the guise of some "neat features".
    I don't need no "neat features". If you want web links to work the way they are supposed to work on the Mac, then allow for a right-click with a QuickLook option, but display the link in it's full length with all the "garbage" that will be transmitted to the site when the link is clicked upon, no "user friendly URL" version, that makes a link look like it were a harmless, state-free static link, while in fact it's a 900 character long monster with encoded state and personal details. One might think that's part of the PRISM program...

    Use USER_TAB_COLUMNS or DBA_TAB_COLUMNS to determing various data type but USER_TAB_COLUMNS will show you what type being used by a schema user

    I had thought about this, but it seems other people have already chosen the screen name "pinksharkmark" and virtually every variation of it I can think of. So that isn't an option for me. As for getting it to display something else as well, do you mean that if I were to get an AIM screen name like "CromulentCat" I could somehow log in to iChat under the AIM account "CromulentCat" yet get iChat to represent me to my Buddies as "PinkSharkMark"? Because I have to admit I don't see how that can be done. It appears as if iChat displays to anyone chatting with you precisely the account name you logged in under and nothing else. So if you logged in using a .Mac account, then you are displayed as "[email protected]" while if you logged in under an AIM account, you are displayed as "CromulentCat". But that's it that's all... there is no way to change CromulentCat to PinkSharkMark.

    Open Activity monitor in Utilities, go to the CPU tab>All Processes, and note any process that would appear to be related to importing photos, such as iPhoto, and use Force Quit. This may only be a temporary fix, as it may start all over again when you reboot. If that happens, we need to do some more investigating.

  • Photos are being imported to the photo library... nothing being importe

    I am trying to to upload my photos from iPhone4 (6.1.3) to iMac with Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6, but it's always the message "photos are being imported to the photo library" pop out without any photo being uploaded. (That forced me to force-quit iPhoto even when the phone is detached from iMac.)

    Try the Image Capture application that comes with every Mac. It gives you a little more control over the import process.

  • Workflow task details are being retrieved from the server

    Hi,
    Using an approval workflow. when the task has been assigned to the person he is getting an email but when clicking on the edit this task button ,the pop window with the
    "workflow task details are being retrieved from the server" 
    error is getting. SharePoint site 2007 and Microsoft Outlook is 2010.

    I have a similar issue with my version of SharePoint. 
    SharePoint 2010 Enterprise.
    Outlook 2013 with MS Exchange
    Document approval workflow.
    When you open the document approval email that comes from SharePoint and click on "Open this task"  the popup window flashes across "workflow tasks details are being retrieved from the server ".
    I've tried the regedit fix and the hive fix and resetting IE that some of the other people have said that works and it doesn't. 
    When I go the site, and connect the task list to Outlook, I can complete the task that way.
    I also created a new approval workflow in SharePoint designer and it behaves the same way.
    Anything else I should try?

  • I can't exit iPhoto or shut down my laptop - message saying  photos are being imported to the photo library - seems to be stuck  can anyone suggest what I should do?

    I can't exit iPhoto.  Message come sup "Photos are being imported to the photo library. Please wait forimport to complete".  This has been some days now and Same message comes up if I try to shut laptop down.  Can anyone offer any suggestions please?

    I cannot close my iPhoto or import any new photos. There is a constant pop up message of "Photos are being imported to the photo library." However, I am NOT importing anything to the library. This is very frustrating.
    I cannot force quit. I even tried shutting down the computer manually. When my BRAND NEW IMAC starts back up, the same problem persists.
    I also tried re-importing photos from my camera and flip camera. My iPhoto will not allow an import because these non existent photos are being imported. HELP PLEASE!

    Force Quit iPhoto. It's under the Apple Menu.

  • I can't shut down iphoto, it continues to say "photos are being imported to the library"

    I tried to download about 70 photos from my camera and it kept saying 1 photo remaining for over 30 minutes so I removed my camera and just figured there was something wrong with the download.  Now, when I try to shut down iphoto it continues to say "Photos are being imported to the photo library.  Please wait for import to complete."  This has been going on now for 2 hours.

    Type Command+Option+Esc and in the Force Quite Applications window select iPhoto and force quit it.
