Hi all,
We have unbox our new ml310e gen8 v2 and trying to install window server 2008 that usually were using for server
in intelligent provitioning i set up the ACU in raid 1 and no one else and continue for setupin OS, but when it comes to OS its says no valid media. trying other window server 64 bit still no valid media .
please do help

Was this machine made for Windows Server? And what is the System P/N if this is a HP machine?

I've checked 1000 times that the folder DOES contain a mediainfo.xml file:

I've seen a few suggestions elsewhere in search results, but nothing has worked so far.
I've previously run the 2008R2 installer and the 2012 installer without problems, so I'm not sure what has changed, or how to get round it.
I'm running on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, 64 bit with up-to-date Windows Updates.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

WRT160NL DLNA Media Server Unstable (Twonky Media)

I have an NTFS formatted USB disk drive (Western Digital My Passport Essential Black 320 GB WDBAAA3200ABK) attached to the WRT160NL wireless router (Firmware Version 1.0.02), and I have video, picture and music files on the USB disk drive in three folders: Videos, Music, Pictures. Auto-scan is disabled, I scan the media files manually by clicking on the 'Scan All' button.
PROBLEM 1
The worst problem is that the router is very sensitive to files that can't be recognized by the router as media files. For example if there are subtitle files (*.str) between the media files, then strange and nondeterministic things happen: some valid media files are skipped and not included in the media database; some files included but the file names are mixed. The most irritating in the bug is that there is no log file, where you could find the problem, and so you never know which file cause the problem, and you have to browse through all the files hunting for the cause.
PROBLEM 2
When the router is in the process of scanning the media files, then the internet (WAN) connection often can't be used, although the router can be accessed and the status says it is connected to the internet.

WRT610N maybe have the samme problem, Media Server USB HDD
Ex, if you edit a playlist *.M3U and do a manuell SCANNING it will recogized the different (because the date is diff ?) If you edit again and make a second scanning (samme date) the playlist dissapear and IS GONE until you reconnect the Hdd or renamme the playlist.
EX2 : A file named   13 - Ricky Martin - Livin La Vida.mp3 and you renamme it 12 - Ricky Martin - Livin La Vida.mp3 the file is gone from Media Server !
Normal use, you add a file , NO problem but it seams getting confused when you edit/renamme/move files.
I solve it like this EVERY TIME -
Disabled Media Server
Rename media folder
Enabled Media Server
Scan the renamed folder
It works   !

Can't open project file

I bought a book form Adobe 'Adobe Premiere Pro Classroom in a book'. I copied all the lessons to my hard drive and when I try to open the Lesson1.prproj, I've got an error message: 'File format not supported'. Can anybody please tell me what is going on?

Curious. Well, my first thought is-- the book was written with valid media, so we can rule out the possiblity of a wrong file format. Which leads me to think either the DVD is bad, or the files were corrupted when being copied to your hard drive.
Can you open the same project directly on the DVD?

How do i stop Itunes auto creating playlists and auto playing imports?

HELP NEEDED - My PC crashed so i rebuilt with Windows 7, installed the latest itunes and so far so good. I then had to import my music library, first thing i noticed which it never did before, when i import folders it will automatically create a playlist for some of those imports, it doesn't create a playlist for every folder or album only some almost as if the smart playlist option is activated...how do i stop this happening? Second, when i import a folder Itunes autoplays the first song in each folder as it imports so it may play 2 seconds of a song or it may play a full song depending on the size of the folder, very annoying and because i have around 100 GB of music to import very very frustrating.

The current build of iTunes (10.4.1.10) appears to have a couple of issues with M3U playlists. The first is that when you import an M3U playlist, the list is created, and any files not already in the library it are added to it, but for some reason they just don't get added to the playlist. Secondly, when adding folders to the library, iTunes is also attempting to add any M3U playlists that it finds as well as any other valid media files not already in the library. The upshot is that iTunes may create a bunch of empty playlists corresponding to any M3U files you have scattered through your folders.
Use iTunes Folder Watch to scan your media folders for new files (and also for dead tracks) to avoid the issue. This is a more effective way of importing new media than simply adding in the entire media folder over and over again.
If you already have empty playlists you are struggling to delete manually then I've written a script for just that purpose called KillEmptyPlaylists.
As and when the time comes that you do want to import an M3U playlist then I have written another script to workaround the current difficulty called ImportM3U which does just what it says. It will also convert and add any WMA files present in the list on the fly whereas iTunes would normally ignore these.

M4V video files not downloading or viewing, just showing characters in browser tab

I click on a video, it takes me to that videos page, somewhere down the page is a download link. I click the download and the browser tab starts filling up with all these strange characters.
It doesn't ask me what to do with this like download or play.
What do other browsers do:
Google Chrome v34 - downloads the file
Opera v20 - downloads the file
IE 11 - downloads the file
I looked under Applications in options and there are only a few, doesn't even fill in the whole box of content types and the action to take. How can I add more to this list.

This happens if the server isn't configured properly and is sending the file as text/plain or text/html.<br />
Firefox opens files send that way in a tab instead of presenting a download dialog.

A workaround is not to left-click such a link, but to right-click and use "Save Link As" to save the file if that is possible.
Note that you can still use "Save Page As" to save the file if it gets opened in a tab.<br />
You may have to add the correct file extension in this case to make it a valid media file.

Can't register Acrobat X Pro

Phone support sends me to chat chat doesn't respond. How do I get the software registered. I have 2 other copies of acrobat pro that registered previously w/o problem I also registered Dream Weaver w/o problem. In the past when I needed customer service I actually got issues immediately resolved. What the @%*! happened to Adobe?

If you read the full text of my posts you should understand that this
was MOSTLY NOT about what appears to be a fraudulent copy.
It is mostly about the deterioration of Adobe Customer Service when
compared to my previous experiences with Adobe.
Apparently you (but not other customer service options) have the
experience or training to let me know:
1) it has "nothing to do with Canada" (other software from other
companies have versions limited to specific geographic areas so the
question seems valid and even if it wasn't, the customer deserved an answer)
2) that likely this is a case of fraudulent activity (which I suspected
when the product couldn't be registered. Ebay has been contacted)
To respond to some of the things you say:
1) I believe that somewhere (if not in my post on the forum, I'm sure
was included in the initial Chat), I said that I had a copy of Acrobat X
Pro registered, from which one could assume possession of valid media,
in which case all I needed was a Serial #.
But thanks for letting me know that Adobe no longer sells Acrobat X Pro
Licenses. Since I already had a copy (for which I paid full freight) my
purpose was merely one of convenience to have on another machine I use
here in the house.
2) you say the Agents I dealt with Could not provide the "reason" for an
invalid Serial#, and yet you are able to list the possibilities and
probabilities here yourself. It seems unlikely that a properly trained
agent would be incapable of same (Which would have provided some
supporting evidence when attempting to get a refund from Ebay).
3) "but there is not much that Adobe can do other than to warn potential
customers about the problems with dealing with unknown, non-authorized,
software resellers." Clearly I was not asking for any remedy of any sort
from Adobe for fraudulent software.
What is also clear is that Customer Service has been lacking at every
step in this episode. Including here. Rather than digesting what is
presented, you make the assumption that I have unreasonable
expectations. In fact I only expect what my customers expected of me
before I retired and closed my business. It seems almost impossible any
more (anywhere) to have a Customer Service Experience in which an Agent
devotes the time and effort to first hear or read the information
presented, digest it, ask clarifying questions as needed, and provide
appropriate responses. In the not so distant past, I had that experience
with Adobe.
If I get your drift appropriately, I should no longer base my
expectations of Adobe on past performance. So goes the world.
It is just a shame that Adobe can build Premier software but can't
provide matching Customer Service (not to be confused with product
support which is generally top-notch).

Burning audio book download

I just purchased an audiobook from iTunes. When I attempted to burn a copy to CD/s I was informed I could only burn 7 copies. I began the burn, and then was informed that the playlist would span more than one CD... and by the way, it was only one track. I affirmed that warning and watched what would happen. It rejected my TY CD and asked for valid media... I tried a few more disks, thinking I may have had my first TY coaster. It rejected everything. When I canceled out of that burn, I tried to burn it again, and was warned that I had used one of my 7 authorized burns.
This is my first audiobook download... are there any secrets that I just don't know, yet? I have a Mac, but this purchase was downloaded on one of my Windows computers. Do I need to find a way to transfer these files to my Mac in order to burn them?
Any advice is appreciated.

"Volume Full" Message when building DVD in CS3

Ok. I'm using Encore CS3. I'm authoring a Graduation DVD for a local college. The project includes 6 menus (Main, and 5 Submenus) and 1hour 45mins of Video. The video has all been transcoded and automatically compressed so that there is 19 MB free on a 4.7G disk.
The preview plays like a dream, with working menus, crystal clear video and great sound.
When I beggin building project either to ISO or DVD Folder it goes through "Ordering files for DVD" and everything but when it gets to "Validating Media" it stops dead with the poppup "Volume Full".
Thats it. I would try burning to a Disc but the DVD drive on my PC is screwed, so I'm doing it to ISO or Folders so I can transfer to another PC for burning.
Any help or ideas are appreciated

Does the harddisk you are writing the ISO file to have enough free space? (At least 10GB.)

Having trouble with apple DVD player playing Mpeg-2 file

I have this error on my ibook when i try to play an mpeg-2 file recently created through HD - Export/Using quicktime conversion.
The error from Apple DVD player is Dvd Player encountered a system error. could not detect a valid media file. [-70001]
Is there something Iam doing to this when i cut it? I have the same problem on both my laptop exppress harddrive, desktop express version 2.

That error code suggests that the region code has been changed 5 times. You can only change the region 5 times in iDVD.
Have a look in here
for some alternate players. There are some really good ones.

How to use "Open Stream" command in the iTunes application.

File > Open Stream > Enter a URL > Click OK > Listen. Obviously the URL needs be a valid media source like an mp3 file or a streaming radio station.

Itunes creating many playlists when dragging mp3's to itunes library

I have an external hard drive, and hooked it up to a new computer. Whe I dragged the mp3 collection to itunes, it created hundreds of playlists, some being albums and some being artists lists.
Is there a setting I can change to keep itunes from randomly making playlists? I've never had this problem after several years of using itunes.

Need help opening a CD tutorial

Hello Folks,
I have an iMac G5 running OS X (10.3.9). I have a new CD Irish flute tutorial, called Mad for Trad, which I can't seem to open. The company says that it is Mac compatible with at least OS X (8.1) or higher, and that it should autostart. It also says a browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape is needed. I'm not sure why they mention those two particular browsers, but I have Safari and Mozilla Foxfire, and I downloaded Netscape to see if it would help.
Anyway, after in insert the CD, it shows up on the desktop but does not autostart. When I click the disk icon, a window opens with a bunch of folders and files such as vids and gifs and bunches of others. I can open the video folder click on an individual file video file, for example, and it will open and play in a small Quicktime window. However, I can't get the whole program to run from the start of the tutorial.
I opened the DVD player, clicked on the OPEN VIDEO_ TS FOLDER tab, selected the Mad for Trad CD, and tried to open it this way, but I get this error message: DVD player encountered a system error - Could not detect a valid media file (-70001).
I emailed the company in England and haven't gotten a reply in a week.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks very much, Duane. It was exactly as you thought. When I clicked on the Mad for Trad disk image on my desktop, it opened a list of many files and I found the index.html file, clicked on it and the program opened. In the company's defense, they actually stated to try the index.html file if the program failed to open. With so many files listed, I didn't see it at first, and wasn't sure where to find it. I should have looked more carefully.

Unable to boot HP DL380 Gen9 with Oracle VM 3.3.2

We are trying to boot the HP DL380 Gen9 server with Oracle VM using cd or iso file but we get the message:
"unable to find any valid media"
We have booted the server with esxi iso file without any problem.

I agree my comment about USB/SD local storage is questionable and understand many people use it. However in my personal opinion one of biggest Oracle VM disadvantages is lack of decent backup/restore features. Even if for VM Server it seems to be easy to re-install it from scratch after failure - one might just not want to waste this time. Also there might be some customization made on the server like multipathing, iptables, storage plugins, etc which will have to be reenabled/reinstalled after reinstall.
As for your other comment about wasting local storage: this has changed in 3.3 version. Now you can create local repository on free partition. This partition is left free during installation. Have a look at:

Part of this process make sure that only the maximum required disk space for the Oracle VM Server software is used. This improvement to disk space usage ensures the best possible use of machine resources. This change is only supported for locally hosted boot disks and does not apply to SAN disks.
I for example, use this space for ISO files and Templates. This can also be used as full repository for single-server installations.
