No valid sequence could be found for the set of patches

I get the following error message when installing Acrobat 8.0 Standard:
"Windows Installer" No valid sequence could be found for the set of patches."
The CD installed with no problems on another PC. Both PC are running XP Pro SP2. The virus scanner was disabled before installation. I also had uninstalled a older version of Acrobat and Reader before installation. Even attempted to install by launching the setup.exe file.
Thanks.
George

This appears to be caused when nls codepages are missing from Windows..
I use nLite to clear items out of my installations, and because these entries are missing, it fails to install. Apparently Microsoft Office has the same issue..
I don't have a solution yet, but I am searching. This should help Adobe answer the question, though..

A reboot was required before reinstall of Reader succeeded.

  • Reader 10.1.1 install error--"No valid sequence could be found for the set of patches."

At 96% completion of Reader install Windows gives above error msg. I close that window, then new window says "Installation complete." I click finish. • Acrobat X Standard "No valid sequence could be found for the set update. Error 1648"

I'm getting this error trying to install an update.
    I followed this process:
    1. Cleanup Acrobat (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html).
    2. Delete everything from C:\ProgramData\Adobe\ARM
    3. Delete C:\Windows\Installer\10e2413d.msp
[I didn't do this step. No file with this name exists in this folder. I know it's hidden. I can see the folder and a bunch of other files].
    4. Install Acrobat X Standard.
The install went perfectly. The update did not. Tried twice, including reboots.
Any help is appreciated. But I have no technical knowledge. Easy, step-by-step instructions please.
PS Windows 7, Office 2013, Intel i7, 8GB RAM, system is running excellently... except for this.
    Thank you,
    Thomas Scott

    Bill and all,
I tried the steps I outlined above for the third time, more carefully going step-by-step and a reboot between each. The update installed this time.
I was using the update from Help > Check for Updates... Is that the right way to do it?
Good idea on the anti-virus. I have Microsoft Security Essentials. It's never interfered with my Adobe Acrobat or Photoshop updates before. But certainly can't hurt to turn that off to be sure it's not causing a problem this time.
I just did a reboot and selected Help > Check for Updates... again. No updates available and running 10.1.9. So it went to the latest update all by itself.
Thanks for the advice. I'm replying here for that and so others with the same problem may have one possible solution.
    Sincerely,
    Tom Scott

  • Error 1648-No valid sequence for the set of patches

Reader XI in up to date Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Auto and manual update returns: Error 1648-No valid sequence for the set of patches
Try to uninstall returns: Error 1648-No valid sequence for the set of patches
Uninstalled using cleaner tool, reinstalled Reader XI, same update and uninstall error.
Ran Microsoft Fix-it uninstall tool. It claimed to have found and fixed corrupt registry entries.
Tried to install Reader XI...again, Installer said application already installed.
Removed reader with cleaner tool again.
    Installed Reader XI
    Update and Uninstall errors persist.
    Reader works fine.
    Suggestions?

Reader tried to update this morning, error 1648....again.

  • Project Server 2010 - Unable to open project, no valid Project Detail Page could be found for the project error

I have a workflow being deployed for the first time on a farm. When I create a project with an EPT connected to the workflow it runs and can enter the required field in a PDP.  Then I Submit the workflow to go to the next stage and I get the "Unable
to open project, no valid Project Detail Page could be found for the project" error.  After that the project is stuck on the same error.  All of the 18 stages have PDP and Schedules assigned to them.
Any ideas on why the workflow cannot see the PDPs?  Is there a farm permissions that I am missing?  Thanks!

  • HP Scanjet G4050. Get "Error 1706.No valid source could be found for product ScannerCopy...."

I just bought a new Scanjet G4050 and when I try to install the software I get an error message and the software will not install. Error message is:"Error 1706.No valid source could be found for product ScannerCopy. The Windows Installer cannot continue." During the install, I was prompted to enter a CD or other location to load ScannerCopy.
I had an older version of this same Scanjet G4050 working on my PC about a year ago. My PC is running Vista 64.
Any ideas how I can get the software to successfully load? Any ideas of where I can get this "ScannerCopy" that the software is asking for?

Like this for many materials, many errors..
Some of the materials are with HALb and some are ROH...
If its only halb,THen i could get a reason... but it s having ROH also..(One more point is Quantity structure indicator is on for all materials..I assume that there will be a relevancy for quant str ind in costing. If not kindly ignore)
Please help me out in understanding..
kindly tell me what to do to to get away from this error...
    Points for sure...

    HI
See Whether in the BOM Whether the Costing Relavant is maintained or not or the Material BOM
and please do not  maintain the Do not cost Setting inthe material master for the raw materials
And one more thing  can u tell me is this Discrete or Repetaive senerio u are working with
IF u u are working with the Discrete Senerio then u have maintain the BOM usage as 1(Production BUt Not Unversal )
If u are Working wth the Repetitiv then U Can maintain either Unversal or Prodution As usage ...
and also see whether u have created production version if u are  working ith repetitve ..

    Hi,
You are running the cost estimate of a finished product which finally comes out based on some raw materials and semi finished goods from a Production Order.  This cost estimate is linked to a costing sheet which calculates the raw material consumed
for production and its production cost.  These costs are settled through the cost component structure OKTZ.  Each of the
production order is linked to Bill of Materials that is all those materials which are required for production and the production
process operations are defined in Routing.  Each of these production orders carries a costing variant planned and costing variant actual to calculate the cost.  The costing variant has its own attributes like valuation variant, date control etc.  The valuation variant defines in what sequence the material has to be valuated and the costing sheet is assigned to this valuation variant for the plant.
Further, BOM usage and routing are assigned in the valuation variant.
The valuation variant checks the materials during your costing run, to take the price and whether it is one of the component in
the bill of materials for the production order.  Hence during costing run if the materials is not one of the component in BOM, it cannot
    run the cost estimate properly.
    Best Regards,

  • ISQL*Plus: Internal error (no valid library could be found)

I install iSQL*PLUS on middle tier (9i AS 1.0.2.1) according to documentation, when I trying to connect I am getting Internal error (no valid library could be found). The TNSNAMES.ORA file is correct.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

My first suggestion is to use the HTTP listener on the RDBMS bundle. This is what iSQL*Plus 8.1.7 Beta was built for.
The HTTP servers on the iAS and Database releases require mods to be compiled differently.

  • Standard cost estimate could not be found for the material

    Dear All,
We have 4 manufacturing plants and 30 sale depots. We are maintaining price control (S) for FG and SFG in Manufacturing plants, price control (V) at depots for the same material code. we are getting an error message " standard cost estimate could not be found for the material" while doing billing at depot.
    Please give me suggestion.
    Your suggestion should be appreciate.
    Thanks in advance............
    AND
My client want to see profitability at manufacturing plant level and need break up for the COGM. So how can i get the values of depot sales.
please let me know how to do........

    Hai
Price control should be S for Depot also. You need to run standard cost estimate in DEPOT after entering additive cost under CK74N for frieght, excise duty etc. To transfer the standard cost from the source plant you  need to make configuration  in OMD9 defining the receiver and sender combination so that system can pick up the cost from source plant. This special produrement type needs to be asigned in the material masters of DEPOT under MRP 2 view.
