No Validation on Company Contribution (SDN Points)

Hi,
If I change my mail id from say [email protected] to say [email protected] all my forum points are getting added to "your" company. I suggest this should not happen.

Hi Ashish,
you are correct in your assumption that the company points are grouped by the suffix of your email address. This is the only way we can make a useful aggregation here.
Imagine that some users would enter their company attribute as "Company", others would write "Comp.", some even would use "Company AG Germany" or something; we wouldn't have a chance to make a 100% correct company-points assignment.

I have checked on ERP 6.0 and there is no standard class available for checking vendors.
However, within your method simply call BAPI_VENDOR_EXISTENCECHECK.
If the vendor exists but not for the company code the BAPI returns the message E522(FN):
Vendor &1 exists, but is not created in company code &2
You may have a look at classes beginning with CL_REEX..., e.g.:
CL_REEXC_COMPANY_CODE Company Code (T001)
CL_REEXC_CONTROLLING_AREA Controlling Area (TKA01)

What kind of a strange validation is this on SDN?

I was not able to post a question on sdn today because I had more than 10 open questions (infact 54). I did not find a way to get over it other than closing all of the questions one by one. Strange validation! 45 questions were from 2006 & 2007 which I have no clue about now. There was no such validation before why invent such a nightmare now? Atleast the old timers must be allowed to close all of their previous questions at one shot. Very poor & irritating!!

In principle, a time limit would be a good thing. The problem is that each one of these requests for modifications to the existing functionality needs to be prioritized, weighed, resourced, -sometimes- often coded and not all of our community suggestions are implemented, even when we, the SCN team pushes to have them and advocate on your behest.
The 10 max unresolved question limitation which was indeed introduced a few years back did take a long time to push into implementation.
I'm hoping that with the migration to Jive we will see some of our requests eased by a more flexible open API framework that enables such modifications to be implemented more easily and developed more quickly, BUT I'm going to err on the side of caution and say: "we may all really want these changes but must be realistic about how many of them, which of them, will be implemented and how quickly".
Since this is a suggestions and comments forum, thanks for raising this. You might also want to look above for the link to Idea Place where "ideas for improvements" under the SCN community are also documented, promoted, discussed.

Converting iPhone 4S to iTouch and would rather not reset it. How can I disable the phone number from the list of valid iMessage and FaceTime contact points? The line item is shaded in each.

I've changed the Apple IDs for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime. I've turned cellular off. I even changed the cellphone number in the phone settings to a 555 garbage number. I'm guessing the number is some how attached to the SIM card? Is there any way to solve this short of resetting the phone and starting from scratch? Backups to iCloud and iTunes were done before any changes took place.

Cross-company code postings - FI validation

Hi,
We start using the cross-company code postings (transaction OBYA) between company code A and company code B and have to give authorizations both company codes to the Finance users. The idea is to have a set of G/L accounts which are allowed to be used when company code A and B are posted via cross-company code posting.
SAP recommends to implement a validation in FI to restrict the Intercompany scenatios. I attempted to create a FI validation for complete document (call-point 3) with no success:
1)
IC Rule: BSEG-BUKRS = A and BSEG-BUKRS = B and BSEG-HKONT IN ACCOUNTSET
Prerequisite: TRUE
Check: IC rule
Message: E- Account & not allowed for cross-company postings
When I test it, the Intercompany clearing account configured in OBYA, and which is in ACCOUNTSET, shows up in the error message, which unwanted.
2)
IC Rule 1: BKPF-BUKRS = '0017' AND BKPF-BUKRS = '0005'
IC Rule 2: BSEG-HKONT IN ACCOUNTSET
Prerequisite: TRUE
Check: IC Rule 1 --> IC Rule 2
Message: E- Account & not allowed for cross-company postings
No error message is issued at all, even if the G/L account is not in ACCOUNTSET.
Please advise what I am missing.

I just wanted to clarify that the cross-company code posting is when company code A can intitiate a posting to company code B simultaneously (for example Intercompany re-charge, cash concentration, etc.). The trigger for cross-company code posting is the company code field on the line item. If company code A is in the header (BKPF-BUKRS) and at least one document line item filled up as company code B, the system created two documents for each company code, offsetting the Intercompany clearing account, configured in OBYA.
For example:
Posting via FB50: Leading company code = company code A (BKPF-BUKRS)
Item 1: Debit; G/L account 1; Cost Center 1; Amount 200; Company code A (as a default)
Item 2: Debit; G/L account 1; Cost Center 2; Amount 100; Company code B (manually changed)
Item 2: Credit; G/L account 2;                        Amount 300; Company code A (as a default)
The systen creates two postings:
Posting 1: company code A
Item 1: Debit; G/L account 1; Cost Center 1; Amount 200;
Item 2: Credit; G/L account 2;                        Amount 300;
Item 2: Debit ; I/C Clearing Account;              Amount 100;
Posting 2: company code B
Item 1: Debit; G/L account 1; Cost Center 2; Amount 100;
Item 2: Credit;I/C Clearing Account;              Amount 100;
The only connection between the two is the cross-company code number (BKPF-BVORG), which assigned by the system once posted, as a logical connection.
I guess we could use a dedicated document type. If that's the case, how would the validation work then?

Customisd err message at MIRO - Business area V/s company code validation

Hi experts,
We have simple validation for company code V/S Business area check in place ,
While doing MIRO system throws error for a particular company code and Business area
combination the set error message ( customized - Business are does not match with company code)
This validation has given as a sub node (step) of another consolidation trx. types against GL validation (that was in place earlier, thats why)
But when we do through F-02 (Journal entry ),F-43(vendor invoice), F-22(customer invoce) for the same combination system passes the entry !!!
what may be the cause ?
the error message is the standard one set -251 this message is custom created at Validation (GGB0)
Business area doesnt belongs to the company code
Message no. /ASU/GENERAL251
One more thing Noticed
The Material PO is a account assigned (K) cost center and the
cost center Business area is 1003.
In PO plant is 1003 and i checked the MSEG the plant shows 1003
But in Logistics assignment the Business area 1001 is tagged to Plant 1003
not THE BUSINESS AREA 1003 !! . I mean at plant/valuation area to Business ara configuration
the valuation area 1003 is assigned to Business are 1001 not to Busienss are 1003!!!

Unable to create the validation at Call up point 3

Dear Friends,
I am trying to create the validation rule for call up point 3..
while doing the prerequisite is system is not througing any error message, But while doing Check step I am getting the message like " Formula composed upto first systax error"
This is the full length message i am getting the error..
The formula was composed up to the first syntax error.

Diagnosis
You tried to exit insert mode, which is only possible if the formula has no syntax errors from beginning to end. If it is not, a new insertion session is opened ahead of the first syntax error. You can then correct the syntax error at the new position through making new entries or by deleting the formula symbols that follow.
You can then try exiting the insertion session again.
Validation is
BKPF-TCODE = 'MIRO' and BKPF-BUKRS = '2005'
check
BSEG-BVTYP not equal to null
in this point i am getting the above mentioned message

Callup point 3 will not be allowed in this validation because in CHECK you are just calling the BSEG (line item) so just select callup point 2 will be accurate one and it will be successful....
Callup point 3 is used when you want system to perform check for both BSEG and BKPF table fields....
To conclude use callup point 2 in this validation .

I have got 300 points in the Sustainability area, 100 for Blogs and 200 for Articles., but only 100 points are added to my Company's total points list. I want to display my Article points also to my Company's total points. Any suggestions?

I am using same Company email id for all the user ids I have. The points which are earned by writing Articles are not displayed in the Company's points list in the Sustainability area. I have no clue about this, Suggestions are welcome !!

VK11 Validity period - Change Pointer

I have a pricecondition ZPMO that has a Validity period.
A change pointer is created when I create or change the pricecond but when the Validity period is over, nothing happends.
Any pointers to how I can get a ChangePointer when a Validity period is over ?

Go to change mode of condition record and here you can extend the validity periods even though the validity period date is in the past. What i mean to say is that even the validity period for the condition record is over, you can change the valaidity period because it will be in enable mode.

did you try that code on a production or a Quality server. If you did you wont say that coz the results i have shown in that blog is what i my self tested on a Quality system of our client.
and for your information i did my internship at a SAP AFS consultancy firm and i created the account at that time. I have joined that company and now working as a developer over there.
if you have worked on a client system development on SD and MM you will know that most of the time
we use header and item tables like
likp,lips
vbak,vbap
vbrk,vbrp
most of the time we come across nested loops with smiler kind of condition.
in this Q he has MATNR as reference.
if you see it properly you can see both tables are sorted.
and the select statement is for all entries.
for your information there can be a delivery document item with out a header if you are aware of DB concepts in that case there will be a foreign key error.
ok lets think about a situation like that even in that case if there ant any header data then simply the client wont request for that record.( you would know if you have worked with clients )
last but not least i dont care about my points rate at SDN i just wanted to share what i know coz anyway i have a very good job here. dont try to put down ppl just because they are new.

Validation GGB0

Can anyone clarify how many validation can we have in a company code?
there is already 1 validation in a company code for TDS i.e. line item validation for entering Business place
& now i want to create a line item validation for Cash Payment above 20,000/-
But in OB28 when i try to activate both line item validations, it gives error!
& in OB28 only 1 line item validation is allowed to be entered per company code.
Can anyone guide me for maintaining more than one validation per company code?

I created a new validation but when i try to activate it in OB28
i have to fill following information
Company code =1000, Call point = 00002 - Line item, Validation using F4 & Activation level = 1(Active)
So it gives error that line item already exists.
in OB28 already 1 item exist for Company Code = 1000 & Call point = 00002 & Activation Level = 1(Active)
So it is not allowing me to activate 2nd validation here
What should i do now?

Distribution Point install failure

Hi all,
In all our company uses 8 distribution point and the majority are 2008 R2 domain controllers.
About two days ago I have done an inplace upgrade on one server to 2012 R2.
The upgrade went mostly without a hitch except for the SCCM DP.
The error that I was getting was "access denied" or something along those lines when the site server was attempting to distribute content.
So I have tried a lot of things so far to the point where I decided to remove the distribution point and start over. No Joy...
I am getting an error on the distribution point in the SCCM console stating "Failed to verify the disk drive". when looking further into the distmgr.log, nothing makes sense to me. please see the below log.

You really need to give more information so we can help you.
What about the logs, are you getting the same errors after making all the changes? please upload the full log to SkyDrive or any other place.
Did you reboot this DP\DC?
Can you successfully ping from the primary to DP and back?
Do you have access from primary to C$ on that DP?
What account did you choose for installation?
Did you choose to install IIS?
If IIS was installed, try to remove it and let DP installation install it automatically.
Confirm that PowerShell 3.0 is installed.

I will go through and reply to each of the suggestions you have made below;
1. The log that was attached was the full log. I cleared the log prior to setting up the DP and copied the contents into this forum after it has stopped.
2. Yes I had rebooted, Many times.
3. Yes I can successfully ping either way.
4. Yes I can access the C$ share on the DP from the Primary
5. I have tried both the PC account and a service account that is part of the domain admins group and also added to the local admins via a net command
6. Yes I did choose to install IIS and I had already tried uninstalling IIS and running the install again.
7. as above
8. Yes Powershell 3.0 is installed
