No Video audio or music

My iPhone 5s recently stopped playing the audio on videos and music without headphones or connected to my car. When I hit the play button my music immediately will pause. When I play videos they play without any audio. My phone is up to date. I have tried restarting. So I am not sure what else to try. I'd appreciate any help.

Hey jenniroses,
I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue with your iPhone. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear what you mean when you say "without headphones or connected to my car." If you mean you are having issues with audio through the built-in speakers on your iPhone, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:
If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support
Conversely, if you mean that you are having issues with the audio when you are using headphones, then this article may be more useful:

  • I need iMovie help.  I can't publish the final movie.  I tells me that there is an error in the user parameter list.  Any help would be welcome.  It has video, audio and music.

I am using a OSX10.7.4.  I should have enough memory.  Thanks.

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
You can make '''Firefox 7.0.1''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. • Final cut pro - editing music video audio falls out of sync

filmed with canon 7D- i play the music in the background for th artist to perform. upon loading up the footage into final cut, i sync the start of the video audio with the record, as they both play it falls out of sync. i did not have this problem when i edited with premiere. any ideas

Sync issues are *usually* going to be mismatched sample rates, for instance, you imported 44.1kHz audio into a 48kHz project.
This happened to me awhile back, and unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what I did to fix it. But what I *think* I did was click on the imported audio and went to the Retime menu and selected Conform Speed. If that doesn't work, right click on the audio in the event browser and select Transcode (if there's an option to do so in the dialog).
It is also possible to manually resync audio by Retiming it. Turn on snapping (N), select the clip, type Command-R and drag the audio clip's retiming handle until the end of the audio snaps with the end of the video clip (this is actually amazingly accurate.) [If your recorded audio is not the same length of the audio on the video, then set markers on the video and audio tracks and retime until the markers snap.] You should do this before any other edits.

  • Sync Music audio with Video Audio PE10

    Hi.
I am new to Premiere elements 10 (Changed from Corel to Adobe, so i'm not new to video editing, but I'm not used to PE10).
I am filming a lot of my daughters Circus performances, so very often I find the music number used at the performance and merge that with the video audio in the project.
But I have a problem syncing the music from the audio track on the video with the seperate music track.
So to specify: I want both Audio tracks running at the same time, so that I keep the clapping and the whisteling from the audience, but get the better quality of the music from the external file merged with the music in the video-audio-clip.
Is there a special tool or can someone help me with a special tecnique?
    Regards Settemand

Along with the instructions offered above, when nudging the Audio, I would make sure that Snap is OFF, as Snap will try to align your Audio with the beginning (Head), or end (Tail), of you Video Clips. That is useful for many editing operations, but for nudging Audio will frustrate you. The Snap function is a toggle with the S key. Just do not forget to turn it back ON, when done.
Also, though the Soundtrack Audio Track seems to be the ideal location for your extra music, some users have experienced issues, when using it, or the Narration Audio Track. While it seems that those issues are Project-specific, and those Tracks often work well, to keep from being tripped up later, I recommend putting your music on a free Audio Track, such as Audio 2 - just to be safe.
Also, with either an Audio, or Video Track, you can Zoom IN/OUT horizontally with the Timeline Zoom slider, AND can also Zoom IN/OUT vertically, by going to the Track's Header (where the Track Name is located), then hovering your cursor over the little line between the Track, until it changes to an equal sign with up/down arrows, then click+drag, to enlarge the Track (and the Clip display) vertically. I find that this makes viewing the Audio Waveform Display easier, and the peaks are more obvious. When done, you can just reverse that operation to Zoom OUT on the Track vertically, so that it looks like it did, before you started.
Good luck, and this FAQ Entry might be useful, though it talks about OOS (Out Of Sync) Audio, the functions are the same for syncing additional Audio: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/436751?tstart=0

  • Is it possible to mute video audio and play music?

I am trying to put together a video and would like to at one point in the video mute the video audio and play a bit of music during the video and then after that section un mute the video audio and mute the music.
Can this be done in iMovie 09 and if so how?
    Thanks

If you're Airplaying from you computer, you might be able to do this. Here's what I would try:
Go to the Airplay icon in iTunes. You should see both your Apple TV and your speakers listed as options. Select "Multiple speakers." You'll see both devices together. Turn the volume all the way down on the Apple TV. You should be getting the video on the TV, but only hear audio through the speakers.
Using the "Multiple Speakers" option will sync the output of your devices so that the sound matches the picture.
I haven't tried this myself, but I'm thinking this would work. However, this approach will only work when using Airplay from your computer – not from am iPad or iPhone – as they don’t have the "Multiple Speakers" option (as far as I know). It also won't work with content streamed directly to your ATV, obviously, because there's no way to stream from ATV to other devices.
Let me know if this works.

  • No audio with music videos or movie previews in iTunes

Does anyone know of a fix for the (apparently well-known) no audio with music videos, movie trailers, TV shows, etc?
Running the latest version of both iTunes and QT on my Dell with Windows XP, but all I get is very choppy sound. Sometimes, no sound at all.
Regular music, however, plays fine (both bought and previewed).
    Any help? Thank you.

  • Music video audio only

I have been trying to find out if it is possible to only play the audio for music videos on the iPhone. I was able to do this with the iPod nano but the iPhone won't let me play just the audio.

    Try this:
    1. Go to iPod and start playing a video
    2. Lock your iPhone. The video will stop playing.
    3. Double press the home button so that the iPod Rewind-Play-Fastforward options appear, and click Play.
You should now be hearing the audio-only of your video.

  • Needing a mini to video/audio edit/produce.

been digging deeper and deeper into video and audio production and editing.
currently im running a 24" imac 2.4ghz, 1gb ram, i use it as my everyday computer and i been playing around with some video editing and a good bit of audio production. (im going to eventually upgrade the ram in this thing)
my question is, im looking to pick up a mac mini and run a dual display. this mini will ONLY be used for video and audio production. the video production i might add is nothing very over the top. just your simple credits, adding music, and clipping scenes. (im producing some how-to halloween prop dvd's and haunted house walk through) for audio production again, nothing very over the top.
im looking to pick up a mini due to the price. a mac pro is way out of my price range.
what do you think would be the best route mini wise to go for? 2.66? thinking my 2.4 has been working fine a 2.53 should be fine? and as for the ram. i planned on upgrading the ram to around 4 or even 8 gigs in the future. for the hard drive space, for movies and audio production im going to need something decent in size. thinking 500gigs i could always do something external in the future?
i was also pondering the mini server, 2 500 gigs with 4gig ram and 2.53mhz. BUT lacking a super drive thats really no problem because im running an external lacie lightscribe.
so im asking you guys/gals what would be the best route for me to take, price wise and bang for my buck to create a nice little video/audio machine?

I also bought a new 3.06 Mhz IMac 21.5 in IMAC this spring. I was unfamiliar with the new miniport. I was on the phone with Apple Sales for buying a new MacBookPro and while ordering wanted to add on the cables necessary to accomplish connecting my new IMAC to my HDMI tv. I have been accustomed to connecting my old g4 laptop with adaptors and a long cable on end is HDMI and the other connects right into the video port out on my laptop. But the older method leaves you without sound.
So...the Apple guy is in a hurry to sell me a computer and insists there is no Apple IMAC or MacBookPro which will work with video and sound to HDMI. I had the item in my inbasket at MacMall. I may be wrong. But I gave up on ordering it. I picked up an HDMI to HDMI extension cord at Best Buy and ordered the Mini video adapter to HDMI connector from Apple store. I haven't opened it yet or set it up. But what does one need to buy to make this work. Since the guy didn't help me. I had to buy it online separately. And since I had ready acct with Apple , just bought it there although it was about 15% cheaper at MCMALL.
Please someone in the know or who watches their computer on their HDMI TV help tell me what cables to buy and where to connect them to my tv. I have a Sony Bravia and it has an internet thing on the side. I haven't used it for anything yet. I have cable/dvr,blue ray dvd, and input from laptop.
Thanks in advance. Rheta in San Diego

  • My ipod somehow converted my video files to music files...

Ok, I know it sounds strange, but it happened. I buy weekly episodes of South Park and The Office from iTunes so I have a video to watch while on break at work. The other day I went to watch Season 3 of The Office and the episodes have all vanished!
I looked around the iPod and found that all the videos on my iPod are missing, not just The Office. However, after looking a little more, I found all these videos in the MUSIC section of the iPod!!!
The videos no longer play with an image, they just play the sound, if even that. I'm on a new computer (I sold the old one) and don't have access to any of these files, so I can't simply reload them onto the iPod.
My question is this: since my iPod randomly converted my video files to audio files on the iPod itself, is it possible to edit them back to video?
I have two other friends who've had this same exact problem. If I can't fix it, should iTunes be responsible for replacing my missing videos? Its obviously a hardware glitch.

Your ipod did not convert them to audio files. That's impossible. If you no longer have the files on your computer, you will have to copy all your music and videos from the ipod, to your new computer and into itunes. Once you have done this, you will then be able to restore your ipod and resync all your files to the ipod.
I assume you have all ready tried restarting your ipod?

  • Merging Video / Audio

I've licensed several video clips from iStockVideo, however they have no sound. A friend of mine created sound effects files for each video clip. What I would like to do is merge the video clips with audio clips to create a single .mov file. Doing this in FCP is brain dead simple, but I prefer not to re-render and export the video files. Is there a simple way to merge the video/audio clips together to create a single .mov file and retain the source video quality, without having to re-render and export them? The video clips are Photo-JPEG HD1280x720.
    Thanks!
    lance

imho, these are a few iSight recordings plus some postproduction 'effects' (adding shaker track, voice doubling..) in Garageband.. and, for sure, little editing in iMovie.. quite simple (editing, not making music! I don't play instrument aside Mac).
read the Help instructions in iM about sharing/Media Browser to Garageband..
welcome Dannerz to the  iMovoe boards, .. just to mention that ..

My apple TV is connected to a DTV with an HDMI cable and to my Yamaha receiver via optic cable. We rented a movie on Apple TV and.found that the movie played, but we only got audio for music tracks. Voice tracks were silent using both TV and receiver.  This only occurred on the rented video and on recorded shows on my cable DVR. previews and other content on Apple TV are fine. Any ideas??

Previews and trailers do not contain 5.1 audio.
If you have recently moved your setup, you may have inadvertently changed some of the settings on your receiver. It certainly sounds as though it is unable to play the 5.1 audio from the Apple TV.

  • Video Audio Pauses/Resumes on Playback

I have recently bought a brand new 5G 30GB iPod, my first one and I'm very impressed.
I have but one issue I think I already know the answer to, but I wondered if anyone else experiences it.
If you use iTunes to mark your music videos up as music videos, they then appear as Audio only in the song list. If you play one of these, the song pauses for approximately a second for a couple of times per song, then resumes.
I should imagine this is because even if you're playing just the audio component you have to read the entire video file anyway and the memory of the iPod is limited to 32megs so once this is empty, the audio pauses until the drive refils the RAM with the remaining video file? Just a guess but I wonder why they offer playback of the audio of the file if it cannot do so without skipping due to the memory running out.
    Cheers

    No answers? cheers

  • Video / Audio Podcast

If I go to Music -> Podcast I can listen but not watch video podcasts. If I go to Video -> Video Podcasts I can't listen to audio podcasts. I wish there is a top level Podcast option that can do both so I don't have to switch menus when switching between video/audio podcasts.) There doesn't seem to be a way, is there?

I'd be happy if they each had their own list and not mixed together in the audio list. If I want an audio podcast, I have to scroll through all the videos to get there! Seems to me keeping them in their own respective list would be more productive.

  • "Choppy" Video but fine music

Hello, I recently downloaded the video "How to save a life" from the band The Fray. The music plays perfectly through itunes but the video is very choppy maening that it rolls about a second or two of video, pauses for a second, then continues for a second or two and os on and so on throughout the entire length of the video. The music never skips a beat. This is the first time I have downloaded a video so is it may a setting or something? I have the latest version of Itunes that i just downloaded specifically to watch this video. I am not sure if it is defective in Itunes system or was the video produced that way? (hard to believe because it is as annoying as **** to watch) Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Do you have a fairly newer (eg, fast) machine? Plenty of free RAM? Vvideos from iTunes are encoded in the H.264 codec, which takes a lot of processing power to play - particularly the new 640x480 resolution files from iTunes. I don't know what is a good speed for windows, but my sister's 3 year old Dell (3Ghz Pentium 4 desktop) plays them OK. The audio on the iTunes videos are 128kbps AAC files, which don't take that much processor to play.
I know, however, that my 1.67 G4 Powerbook can play iTunes videos just fine, but my 400mhz PowerMac G4 can't - it shows exactly the same symptoms (frame dropping) you describe - but the video will freeze after the first frame. This is playing the old 320x240 resolution videos, BTW. I don't know what these speeds translate to in the Intel processors, however.
    Good luck,
    -Dan
