No video for windows 10 upgrade

Okay guys I am having the worst time trying to figure out how to solve this. I have recently upgraded to windows 10 and now skype doesn't seem to want to work anymore. Whenever I try skyping someone my video doesn't show up. It only shows that it's loading, but it never loads. The receiving video works as well as the audio. It's just my own video that doesn't want to work. I recently thought it was a problem I had with Microsoft store because skype didn't seem to want to update, but I finally got it to update, but it still did not solve the problem. Does ANYONE think they know what is causing this? I feel like it's just skype itself because windows 10 is still new, but I'm a pretty impatient person and would like this solved as soon as possible. Thanks to anyone in advance if they know the problem or may think so!

Make sure your hardware and drivers are compatible with Windows 10. Your video driver is most likely the issue. Video drivers in Windows 10 is a known issue and will most likely need an update. Download the latest Skype version; http://www.skype.com/go/getskype , download a current windows 10 compatible driver, remove the old video drivers, reinstall video drivers and Skype if you do not have the lastes version allready (7.7.x.x help > about Skype). If you still have issues, please let us know if you did a clean install (upgrade > refresh system), or is on a upgraded system containing old files/drivers etc. Be adviced that you cannot install a clean windows install without having a key ( before an upgrade is done ), so if you did not refresh or posses a Win 10 key for clean install, your just upgraded.

Output Module - Video for Windows - trouble selecting Audio Format

Good day, people.
Need help setting up AE to output .AVI with customized audio format, in my case it should be .mp3, but I would accept anything but the default uncompressed audio. (audio Output Format button is disabled when Video for Windows is selected)
Of course I can output as-is and use external tools to repack audio data, but it seems awkward. If AE can output MP3-only audio, why wouldn't it output AVI with MP3. Probably I just don't know the right set of options, but I googled to find the answer for over a month with no success.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Because it's a hack?! Even Microsoft does not officially support or endorse such combinations, it just has become common place when DivX and others introduced it, which is a whole different matter. If you get my meaning: On one end there are specs and standards, on the other end programmers that tend to get creative in the wrong ways. Anyway, the behavior you are seeing is correct. AE only supports uncompressed audio for AVI.

Export to anything, but Video for Windows causes crash in CS4

I am running the latest update to CS4 on my PC, and while I have had no luck exporting my timeline full of MPEG-4 material to QT, H.264, etc...using the render que, I am having success choosing the Video for Windows 8-bit 4:2:2 codec. I am running the latest drivers for QT and whatnot so why does anyone think this would be? It also causes a crash using the Export function in the File tab. Thanks for your help!

CiscoSecure ACS v2.4 for Windows NT Upgrade

We still have two ancient instances of CiscoSecure ACS v2.4 for Windows NT running on our network. ACS1 (primary) and ACS2 (secondary). I would like to upgrade these, not only because of how old they are but because of an issue trying to replicate the user and group database from ACS1 to ACS2. When trying to replicate the user and group database the logs say it's successful but the databases don't match. ACS2 is missing some of the users that are in ACS1. I have successfully replicated the interface database. But for whatever reason, the user and group database will not replicate.
First, is there any other way I can get the user and group database copied from ACS1 to ACS2? Other than using the built in database replication tool?
Second, is there any way I can get these upgraded? I read that the recommended upgrade path is 2.4->2.6->3.0->3.2. But Cisco no longer has version 2.6 available for download. I really would like to upgrade rather than starting from scratch.

Think about it - would you want to try to upgrade Windows 98 to Windows 7? That's about an equivalent span of software product timeline.
The current product is so different that even if you could upgrade it would not be advisable to do so. While painful, it would be much better option to make a clean break with the old and move onto a current platform (e.g ACS 5.3).

Streaming Video for Windows Media Player?

I have a website with steaming video that only opens in quicktime and I need the video to also open in Windows Media Player for people who only have access to a PC and do not want to deal with Quicktime downloads. Does anyone know how to do this on a MAC? I use FCP 5, Compressor, ect.

You are going to need to have two versions of the video file. One for Mac Quicktime users and one for WIndows Media Player users.
WMV Studio Pro looks like it could meet your needs.

However you will need a Windows Media Server to stream the WMV file otherwise it will act as a download only.

Qosmio G50 - Second clone partition for Windows 7 upgrade

I have a Qosmio G50 with Vista Ultimate installed & I have the 2 upgrade discs for Windows 7.
Is there a way to clone C: (with Vista) onto another partition & use this 2nd cloned partition as the basis for upgrading to Windows 7? This way there would still be Vista to use for programs / drivers that are incompatible with Windows 7 & there would be a dual boot option with Windows 7.
Has anybody worked this out?

Hmm I dont think that would work since you would need a license for both OS's simultaneously. The Win7 upgrade license replaces the Vista License

First of all, let me tell you this. I have had a Lenovo computer for several years now and it has worked perfectly. Therefore I have had no need to be a forum member. Even so, since the computer is working fine, I feel I must bite the bullet and install Windows 7. Being retired on a small pension, I cannot afford to buy a new computer. Having spent hours in the internet searching on how to upgrade to windows 7, I am more confused than ever. I would like to know how I can, preferably with one click, how I can install the drivers required for W7. I would also like to know if I install them now, will my computer run on the new drivers before I upgrade to W7.
I also have a problem determining what type of computer I have. I have seen lists like 3000 series, idea centre, PC 100 series etc etc. Can you please tell me what type of computer it is? The only help I can offer is that it is a XXXXX.

Adding to sarbin's instructions, you should probably run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor from MS . That will show you what is compatible and what is not.

Rejected by HP for Windows 7 Upgrade

I bought my computer in the required time and my model is eligible for the upgrade. I uploaded the packing code which was located on the side of the box in which my computer came in. I received an email saying my request for Windows 7 was denied and now it wont let me upload anything else. What should I do?

Greetings,To who might be able to help. I have a Satilite c855d-s5106 ,Pscbqu-0060023, Zc29745q.... i want to upgrade to windows 10 and have been checking the support page for any updates for drivers or software to avoid any problems when i do upgrade. today I seen a page for windows 10 drivers however I'm not sure if they are for all computers or just for those who have recently upgraded, are any of these for my machine? can you shed some light on this? 3 identical machines (Aspire REVO R3700) Fail at the same spot for Windows 10 Upgrade

I am trying to upgrade 3 identical machines (Aspire Revo R3700) and they all fail at the same exact spot. This leads me to believe there is a hardware or driver issue for these. Am I missing something? I have tried all the suggested fixes for the error code recived but nothing works.

Reformat 60g ipod video for windows

I would like to reformat a recently purchased ipod already mac formatted (and loaded with files) to windows. The idea would be to use the ipod and itunes with both pc and mac.
I haven't purchased any songs from itunes and plan to use my existing music as mp3s rather than m4p or m4a on the ipod.
I have an external hard drive (formatted fat32) which can be used to back up music/video files which reside on the mac computer (and are also present on the ipod), transfer them over to the pc, then back onto the ipod again after formatting.
I've read that apple does not officially support a windows formatted ipod to be used on a mac. I've also read that using an ipod formatted fat32 on a mac slows down read/write in itunes, etc, but not sure if that also applies to the latest ipod video units.
Can someone verify this? I would like to be able to use the ipod on both platforms.
Can I just format the ipod with windows into fat32, or do I have to use the apple software to do this?
Would using the ipod like this be more trouble than it is worth?

I have an old winme computer that I've been using to format my external hard drives to FAT32 and have had success for 200g and 300gb drives which xp and mac then recognize, but there probably is some advantage in using Apple's refomating software for the ipod, so I will use that.
The ipod will be used on both xp and mac. I came across a post regarding using one of the older ipods formated in FAT32 and how that file system slowed certain functions with the mac as opposed to HFS formatted ipod and was wondering if anybody has experienced this with the ipod video.
When using ipod with both xp and mac, are there any other issues to be concerned with, like syncing with itunes, etc?

I downloaded iTunes latest version onto my PC-Windows 7. I bought an HD episode, and it is not playing back correctly. Sound is warped, and video playback is off course with audio. Any suggestions, please? Also, I would like to write an email to Apple in general about other things. 2011 MBP Install Vista just to use for Windows 7 Upgrade?

I just bought a MBP 13" in July. In Bootcamp I would like to run vista but I have heard that you cannot. I can get a legal copy of vista for very cheap and am wondering if I could install it for the sole purpose of using the student discounted windows 7 download upgrade. It just works out cheaper for me that way. Will I even be able to install vista if even for this purpose?

Has anyone tried to just quit BCA? tell it you'll do it later. Then just do restart and open the tray wth Vista DVD and hold "C" and see.
My own logic: has to boot.
Lion still supports Vista if pre-installed, so it can't stop you from using your Vista DVD.
It would be really difficult to change something in GPT/MBR to block Vista from being installed but not if it is present. Seems like it is just a patch in Boot Camp Assistant 4 is all.
Does the Windows DVD need to be present during the partitioning? during the driver download phase? can you download drivers now while the Windows DVD will be bought or shipped later?
I totally understand not supporting XP on new hardware. And Microsoft already dropped Vista SP1 support (assume SP2 is current and there may not be any plan for SP3??)
To block install or reinstall if you have Vista DVD would be extreme overthetop. Next to impossible.
