No Video from new K9 SLI MOBO

I am building a new computer with following setup:
MSI K9 SLI Plat MS-7250 ver 1.2 MOBO
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition (Brisbane) 2.6Ghz CPU
Corsair Twin2x2048-6400C4 2-1Gb stix (4-4-4-12) Memory
EBGA 256Mb Geforce 8600 GTS SLI PCIx16 GPU (one only)
Antec TruePower Trio 650w PS
Upon boot with all drives disconnected I get no video.  Have tried GPU in both X16 slots with same results.  The D-Bracket testing lights hang at 1-red, 2-green, 3-red and 4-green.  I do not have another PCIx MOBO or another PCIx GPU with which to eliminate the card or the MOBO.  Anybody got any ideas as to how I might narrow the problem to one or the other?

I guess there's no one to blame for it completely, but it's a real hassle. It's no big deal to ask the reseller to update the BIOS, if they are someone from MSI or knowledgeable of MSI products, but no. Just after hearin my problem, they told me this board is not compatible with my BE, that certainly ruin MSI sales haha, eventually they checked and found out it should work after updating the BIOS. They finally call me and told me that it's been updated, waiting for me to pick it up, and it's been 3 weeks with this problem, we'll see what happen when i pick it up.
And the MSI online help doesn't actually help much, i thought i would get really good info there, but so far this forum helps more. By givin them the serial number to my board i assume they would know the age of this board and thus know i need to update the BIOS, also asked them about the multiplier adjuster which was found on older model of K9N SLI PLA (1.0) and not on the newer one (1.2), they don't even know that. Probably didn't even know the existence of the 1B1 BIOS. Another misinformation, when i'm interested in this board i was readin reviews and all of them are base on the old version 1.0, even MSI site shows older model. I'm sure the multiplier adjuster is on the latest 1.2 model since it's on the older model 1.0, but it doesn't, that's really puzzlin', why would they not include that.
In the end it's best to get help in the forum here good work everyone. I hope they will release BIOS 1.11 soon, not really tempted to install anythin BETA on BIOS. :x OC will have to put on hold

  • Cannot import video from new iphone 6

I have a new iPhone 6 which contains videos taken today (as well as older videos on the phone after restore). Connecting it to my Windows 8 PC the import wizard comes up automatically and successfully imports photos but not videos.
With the phone connected to the PC, I look in iTunes "On My Device" and click on movies, this view is empty. How can this be since I know there are videos on the phone.

I'm not sure why I'm getting this error message since it is in fact a video. Any suggestions on why this could be happening?

Hi jt - Alex was actually referring to video clips in iPhoto not appearing in the item "iPhoto Videos" in the Events Library in iMovie - thanks for your post though (the 2 words are very similar).

If you are still within your 15 day return period.  Call Apple they will sent out iDVD at no charge.  (There are no realistic substitutes.)
Nicely explain that you may return the computer without iDVD.  You MUST speak to a senior advisor to get a free copy. The first tier people cannot do it.

If that doesn't work you can purchase iLife 11  (includes iDVD) on disk.
IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.

  • AirPlay fails on embeded youtube video (livestream) from New iPad to Latest gen AppleTV.

    Hello,
I just purchased a new Apple Tv (03/24/2014) and tried to airplay an embeded youtube video from Safari and Chrome on my iPad and received an error. Airplay is working fine from the youtube app, and other apps as well. I've done some poking around and wasn't able to find any concrete answers as to why it's not working. Apparently this used to work prior to sometime in August (not sure exactly when) of 2013. Any helo would be much appreciated are this is one of the main reasons I purchased the Apple Tv.

    Hi IntroMike.
Take a look at this URL in the XBMC forum.
    http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=179961&page=36
This discusses the issue you are seeing. It seems to be specific to the Youtube app and some embeded videos.
There is no known solution at this time apparently.

  • Can I use the new Apple Thunderbolt  to Firewire adapter to download video from a video camera by firewire to my Macbook Air ?

Can I use the new Apple Thunderbolt  to Firewire adapter to download video from a video camera by firewire to my Macbook Air ?

Yes, you can use the 85 watt adaptor. You cannot use the new adaptors because your computer is not equipped with the proper MagSafe connector. But you can use the older MBP adaptors as well as a 60 watt replacement adaptor. All can be found at Apple's Online Store.

  • How should I best import HD Videos from the new iPad to my mac without loosing video quality?

The new HD video on the new iPad is awesome, but it can eat up a lot of memory in no time. I would like to know what is the most recommended way to export my ipad movies to iLife on my mac without loosing image quality, so i can free up space on my iPad.
If I use iPhoto I notice that the file size of the video from the new iPad is a lot smaller then if I use iMovie to import the same video.
Example: I import a 53 second video from the new iPad to iPhoto and the imported file has a file size of 143 MB in iPhoto. (iphoto save the video as IMG_0048.mov)
I import the same video to iMovie manually and the imported file size is 843 MB in iMovie. BIG DIFFERENCE. (iMovie saves that same video as clip-2012-03-20 16;13;08.mov)
Now to really be confusing: I go to Image Capture program and locate the file manually on my iPad and is has the same name and file size is what is in iPhoto.
So either iMovie is making the File a lot larger when it imports to an event, or the file I'm looking at is actually the iPhoto version that I get because I sync with iPhoto.
The second issue that I have is that now I have 2 videos on my hard drive: one in iPhoto, and one in iMovie for a combined data storage of close to 1 GB.
I would like to be able to import ALL my iPad recording into iPhoto and then delete the video from the device when done.
But if I loose video quality, I'm not happy about that. Secondly, by importing video from my iPad into multiple iLife programs, I'm creating duplicates with sometimes different quality. Any suggestions? is there a setting in iPhoto that can do all this for me?
    Robert

Don't use iphoto to deal with movies. it's not really meant for that. use Quicktime or iMovie to work with your videos

  • How do I copy music and video from my iPod to a new PC?

My itunes PC no longer works.  How can I copy music and video from my iPod to a new PC?

You can't transfer music from an iPod to a PC.  Apple do not provide that facility.  It can be done with third party software though.  There are a variety of these available though so search google for 'ipod to itunes'.

  • Importing video from old camcorder to mac without using a newer camcorder?

I'm trying to import old home videos from a camcorder (from about 1991) that uses cassettes, onto my Mac. I tried searching for this here and I found this: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1943045&#1943045. But I actually don't have a newer camcorder to rerecord it on. Is there a way to get it on my computer without it?

    Hello Cris,
you actually don't need a new camera to get analog video into your mac, in fact there are not so many cameras that support AV-in.
read the thread you posted in your question again and you'll find an AV/DV converter, a device that "translates" from analog to digital, mentioned there.
these converters are not as costly as good camcorders, but of course they do only this one thing, so if you think about buying a new camcorder in the near future, you could buy one with AV-in .... two devices in one.
oh yeah: the canopus converters mentioned in that thread are supposed to be good.
    hope this helps

  • How can I transfer Video from old IPOD to new

I bought an IPOD from Ebay and would like to transfer the video from my classic Ipod to a new nano.
    Can I do this?
    Thanks

Not directly (iPod to iPod). Instead, if you do not already have them in your iTunes library, you need to first get them back into your iTunes library. Then you can easily sync them out to any iPod you connect to that library.
