No video/movie previews

After clicking on a show or movie title, the "loading" window appears, and the title and timeline are shown in the normal place, but eventually it just...stops, and if I hit the play button the process starts over with the same result. No video, no sound, no nothing. I've tried the view options in preferences with no change. Music previews work just fine, as always.
I e'd back and forth with Apple a few times on this, and they were NO HELP, simply implying there was a problem with my machine or the ISP. What a cop-out.
Just loaded 7.0.1, hoping there would be a fix included, but no luck.

Of course. Good ol' Software Update makes sure I keep up with the latest. Even un/reinstalled both QT and iTunes when I first noticed the problem.

Does anyone know of a fix for the (apparently well-known) no audio with music videos, movie trailers, TV shows, etc?
Running the latest version of both iTunes and QT on my Dell with Windows XP, but all I get is very choppy sound. Sometimes, no sound at all.
Regular music, however, plays fine (both bought and previewed).
Any help? Thank you.

Searchable Movie Previews/Music Videos in iTMS?

Haven't seen any posts on this, so I was wondering if anyone else is annoyed with the inability to search Music Videos and Movie Previews in iTMS? Seems like a no-brainer, considering you can search for previews on the QT Homepage.

No video on preview

I get no video when playing a preview of whenever I try to check the menu.

I have a similar problem - I have added a video background to a motion menu and I have rendered my motion menus, but when I preview I just get the still frame placeholder. The buttons with their highlight graphic work and link ok.
It doesn't play any sound from the video file either, but I assume this is intended. If I import the soundtrack of the video separately as an audio file I can hear the sound playing when I preview.
If I look in the project folder under Sources > Menus I find an mpg file that corresponds to the rendered preview. This video file is correct - it is my original video clip with the buttons rendered on top and it plays fine if I open it in Windows Media Player.
I have tried previewing with and without the 'automatic' option. Also, videos in the main timeline of my movie preview just fine.
I tried creating a new motion menu. In this one I even turned off the background layer entirely in Photoshop, in case that was somehow covering up the video. But as soon as I dropped the video in it made a new background, and this new menu also showed only a still-frame bg.
Other properties of the menu...
I have a Duration of 00:03:03:17 specified (this was set automatically from the length of my video clip)
I have the Loop Point set to zero
I have the Loop# set to 'Forever'
I have no End Action set
any ideas?

Oh, baby! This bad boy flies!! Here's what to expect:
I had 40,000 images in Aperture 3 and it was dog slow at everything. I installed 3.1 update today. It took 5 minutes to update the database and then behaved marginally better than before at ASIC library navigation. I was disappointed.
Then I QUIT the app. It took a couple of hours to "update files for sharing" with a counter that went to 110,000 images. So it must have updated every thumbnail and variation of preview. Turned it back on , and BAM. Came up fully in seconds. Paused for 10 seconds ten everything was lickrty split. For the first time ever, I can use the Projects view with all 791 projects and scroll quickly. I even put it in photos modevand whipped thru all 49,000 images!
Haven't done anybprocessing yet, but i'm liking it!!

Can't see movie previews in itunes store

When I try to view a movie preview in the itunes store, I just get sound and a black popup screen. My downloaded videos still work. I can view the same video previews on my iphone with no problems. Ideas on how to get the picture back?

Why does my itouch freeze when I try to watch a movie/preview from itunes? I tried to watch the preview. I don't want to purchase a movie if that is what is going to happen. The signal on the itouch has full strength. It works when I watch a music video that I have purchased from Itunes. I also have Belkin G-801.11 which is what is required according to the itouch instructions. I have only had the itouch three days and I returned one because of the same thing.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

No video in previews

When using iTunes on a Mac, I cant see the video of a preview of a video to buy. The pop up screen comes up, but it remains blank as the sound plays. I have this problem with, TV show previews, movie trailers, and Video Podcasts. I can play the already downloaded TV shows and movies in my library but the iTunes store previews are blank screens only with sound. Is there any way to fix this and am I the only one with this issue?

I have had this same problem on my netbook since I installed iTunes. I have looked and looked but no solution has been posted to the Windows iTunes forum either. If the preview doesn't work, then I guess I can't rent or buy movies. Afraid to throw $3 away even trying to do a rental. Already know I can't do HD or full screen because my CPU is too slow. I set QuickTime to standard definition today as recommended but that did not solve the problem.
Actually, I didn't have audio either on the movie previews (just two quick blasts of sound at the beginning) until I took off the Quicktime 3D Accelerator today and added more delay in Streaming as recommended.
Why can't anyone provide a solution? You'd think Apple would like the revenue it's missing.

Yes, you can add your own videos to iTunes, then sync them to your nano, subject to supported max resolution limit and file type. The specs for the 7th gen nano says (I don't know which nano model you have), Video Format Support

(earlier nanos have lower max resolution limits)
So, "HD" video is too high resolution, so iTunes will not sync such videos to the iPod (although they play in iTunes). If you are asking how to set up iTunes to sync videos in general (regardless of source), please post back.

Will videos/movies play continuously on the iPod or only one at a time?

I have 80g iPod Classic and wish it could play videos continuously like it can play songs. Nothing in the pdf manual about it. Nothing in iTunes prefs about it. Nothing in iPod settings about it. I know if I make a playlist of videos in iTunes, iTunes can/will play the entire playlist before it stops. I dragged the playlist to the iPod, but there it plays one video and stops. Question: can it be done or can't it, and if so, HOW?

and tried this, which works: in iTunes create a playlist of videos/movies; select all; choose Get Info from the File menu (yes to the alert); at the bottom of the window (titled "Multiple Item Information") toggle the "Skip When Shuffling" to "No". Then you can drag the playlist to your iPod's newly created playlist box. P.S.: Of 11 videos, 2 were rejected for not being able to be played "on this iPod", even though they already had played on it hours before, even though I had to convert many files so they could be "played on this iPod". "In any complex system blah blah will eventually blah blah.

How do I watch videos (.mov files) from my iphone 5 on my windows vista pc?

Hi I've downloaded my videos from my iphone 5 to my PC which runs Windows Vista, but I cannot work out how to play the videos (.mov files)
I've tried the latest Quicktime player (7.7.6) and also Quicktime 7.6 and the audio plays fine but the video is slow and jumpy. The video plays fine on my iphone.
I've tried iTunes on my pc but I have the same problem.
The problem is even worse with VLC media player in that the image is distorted and pixelated, but again the audio is fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

You need to import the videos to iTunes and synch via iTunes

My apple tv is not streaming from my itunes since my last update but streams movie previews so i know it is communicating to the internet any advice. P.S. i have already unplugged everythign and reset everything already so i need better advice.

Just look through the list of posts - you will see many people asking the same question. My father and i (different households) have the same issue. Apple techs want to blame it on interference or firewalls, BUT everything was working before the update so that is just a blow off answer. Apple needs to fix this.

I am using ifunia media-converter, the one that got from Mac App Store, successfully converted dvd and HD video for me, seems it support converting mov to flv.

Quicktime video (.mov file) will not load and play in Firefox 3.6.16

I have a computer with Firefox 3.6.16 installed that will not play Quicktime videos (.mov files) in the browser. This is a desktop computer.
Another computer (laptop) with exactly the same version of Firefox installed will load and play them perfectly in the Quicktime player.
Both computers have Quicktime addin 7.6.9.0 installed and designated as the default application for Quicktime movies.
Both computers play the videos correctly in IE 8.
When attempting to play the video in Firefox, the player window opens and attempts to load the video, but soon seems to freeze leaving a black window open where the player should be.
From what I have observed, this seems to be a problem related specifically to this computer, and since the video plays in IE I have ruled out the firewall blocking loading from the site.

Hi, I've exactly the same problem, 'cept I've XP Pro. When I say exactly, I mean the format used is HDV 1080i60, along with everything else there.
And I'm right there with you. Why Quicktime can't play a natively encoded HDV Quicktime file (using Final Cut Pro), is beyond me, but basically, I've used K-Lite Codec Pack, and Quicktime. Neither work, although Quicktime does ask for internet connectivity to download resources or something similar (I don't have Internet Access at home). I've used VLC on a friend's PC, and, while it works, there is a very strange, and irritating flicker where there's heavy movement
Where can I get the resource needed, as another party needs to view the clip, and they already have it. So if they can update their codec library or similar, then that would be much better (as I wouldn't need to upload a FullHD Video again)
