NO video on HD tv through HDMI connector ! only sound

hi,
I am using ipad4 with latest OS updates. I am using HDMI adaptor by apple to connect to my HD tv (Sony). I saw a glimpse of my ipad once on the screen but i vanished suddenly and since then i have been trying to no use. I tried playing a video, but i only hear voice on TV and no video. Can anyone help, as wht settings shld i check ? or is it my local made HDMI cable creating problem (it works fine with my laptop )

Is this failing with Error 20 ?
Sometimes in a the router or modem if you use Port Forwarding then you are your Buddy may be missing the Screen Sharing Port.
The Screen Sharing part uses a different port to the Audio port.
As the port for Audio (And therefore Video) are known and can be port Forwarded it is the random Screen Sharing port that can be the problem.

If you are not using (or your Buddy) UPnP then I would change the method of opening the port to that.

Why is there a video delay when mirroring through HDMI?

Since I installed Mountain Lion, I am experiencing a delay of about 0.5s on video that is ouput through the HDMI port vs. the image that is showing on my screen.
Not only is it very distracting, since the cursor on the external display lags behind my motion on the trackpad, but the delay between the audio playing through the MacBook's speakers and the video playing on the external display destroys the viewing experience.
I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. It only occured after Mountain Lion.

Hdmi connector no sound

I plugged the HDMI with power port connecto in to the iPad and an IPad2 and I get the video but no sound. Their is audio coming out of the headset connector, but needless to say I want to use my reciever. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Hdmi carries only sound but not people voices

I have an early 2012 macbook air and an hdmi cable with hdmi port to the TV and thunderbolt/mini display end to my mac. When browsing and watching youtube videos, it carries both picture and sound/voice nicely, however, when I play dvd/bluray movies, it only carries picture and sound (I mean by sound, music and effects) and it simply mutes people's voices.
I have been working so hard to find a solution for this bizarre issue with no luck.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated

That is a bit bizarre. Sounds like the sound output is 5.1 surround without the center channel.
Run the Audio Midi Setup program in the Utilities folder located in the Applications directory.
If you only have stero make sure it's set for 2 channel stero in Configure Speakers..

I am trying to access a website with everyday videos, but there is no image playback, only sound.

When i am trying to access the web page, everything goes smooth, but when I get to the video playback, it doesn't show any image, you can only hear the sound playback of the video. I accessed this web site with other web browsers, and it worked just fine, with both image and audio playback. From the same web site, sometimes videos work, but that is very rare, and I don't know what determines this kind of behavior.

I do not have a video on my iTunes only sound ?

Since last night, i can not watch any videos on my itunes. I have only sound. All videos are bought through Itunes. Video works in the internet but not on Itune.

You can route the audio through your TV to your analogue receiver or purchase an adapter for the optical. As you have provided no further details it is hard to say much more.

Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

No sound through the HDMI connector using Qosmio G30-201 & Vista

I am getting no sound through the HDMI connector using VISta.
I have XP and Vista on my laptop.
When i boot into Xp I can get the sound to come through the television but when I boot into vista I have no sound coming through.
I have just reloaded both partions with Xp and vista so it is a fresh install on both and it is still doing the same thing.
Please help.

Connect iphone to macbook through hdmi using lihhtning to hdmi connector

I Have a iPhone 5s, a macbook pro 2014, and a lightning port to hdmi connector. I was expecting to plug the connector into my iPhone and to hdmi on my MacBook, but nothing happens when I do. I would like the be able to play videos from my iPhone onto my computer. What am I missing? This should be easier, I am quite disappointed honestly. what am I doing wrong?

When you run Lenovo driver installer downloads, the drivers are not installed. This is normal (!). The drivers are unpacked into a directory on your disk, usually under C:\DRIVERS. You have to follow the installation instructions (on the same page you downloaded from). Usually they say go to the directory where the drivers were unpacked and run setup.exe, but not always, so you have to pay attention if you choose to install the drivers this way.
The simplest way out of your situation is to manually install the Ethernet drivers, plug into the Internet, then download and install ThinkVantage System Update, and run it. It should churn away and automatically install all the right stuff.
Whether you choose to install the ThinkVantage stuff manually or automatically using System Update is up to you.
BTW it sounds like you MAY have blown away the Lenovo Rescue & Recovery partition when doing your "upgrade". If you did, and you want to get that back, you will need to call Lenovo for a recovery DVD, and start from scratch.

Is there a way to have audio only come through the optic cable and video come only through HDMI on Apple TV 3rd Gen?

I currently have a digital optic cable hook up from my Apple TV 3 to my receiver and a HDMI hook up from my Apple TV 3to my flat screen. The audio is coming out of my TV speakers and receiver at the same time. I was wonder if there was a way to switch the audio output from the Apple TV 3 to the digital optic cable and only have video come out of the HDMI? I really only plan on using my receiver for the audio for my Apple TV 3. I know that I can just mute the TV but I wanted to know if there was a way to switch the feed. Thanks

There is an option on my TV but if I do that I lose all my audio on the TV. I have 3 HDMI ports on my Flat Screen. One is for my cable, one is for my PS3 (BTW the PS3 has an option to switch the audio feed so it will come out of the digital optic cable and leave video for the HDMI), and the last one is for my Apple TV 3. If I switch to external speakers I will lose my audio for the cable. I was hoping there was a way to switch the audio feed on the Apple TV 3.

My iphone no longer displays anything through the HDMI connector

I purchased a cheap 30-pin to HDMI connector (big mistake) but was able to see my iPhone screen on my TV. I then added a Lightening to 30-pin connector so I could display my girlfriend's iPhone 5C screen on the TV. But I had problem taking these two connectors apart and the end of one of them started to come apart. Pushed it back in. When I then tried to display her 5C screen, nothing worked. Then I went back to my iPhone 4 and it also no longer worked. I thought the cable was bad so I then purchased a genuine Apple 30-pin to HDMI connector and Apple Lightening to 30-pin connector. But I still don't see anything on the TV for either of the iPhones BUT my iPad 2 does display data on the TV. Conclusion: Did I short out something in both iPhone internal connectors? Has anyone ever see this kind of problem? BTW, both phones can still be charged without any problem.

I'd start by calling VZW support. They are really good in a situations like this. I work with them a lot in the Enterprise space. Sounds like your network/roaming settings are messed up.

Satellite R830 and video output through HDMI

Just wondered if it's normal for my laptop to output a max of 1280x768 through HDMI to my 26" LCD TV?
Its a Satellite R830 i3 with hd3000 graphics. I have 8GB RAM. Tried under Windows 7 and 8 but the same.
Also tried custom resolution but it just says on the TV out of range.
Mt graphics driver is up to date and I had full hd working on this TV via another older laptop.
Any suggestions please?

I dont know your LCD TV specifications but fact is that external resolution depends on three options:
graphic card driver, graphic card and the external device connected to notebook/computer.
So if your TV does not support an higher resolution, you will not be able to choose another resolution.
If your TV supports higher resolution but the graphic card driver and graphic chip would not support higher resolution, you will also not be able to use it.
