No video on ILOM redirection, several platforms/browser combos tried

Hola -
New X4440 & ILOM has SP Firmware of 3.0.3.37; on various combinations of browser & OS I get successful connect messages but no video on redirection. Remote control/KVMX settings are enabled & SP has been reset, any ideas on what else to check?

Peter,
One thing you can try is making sure the following ports are open on your network:
ILOM console redirection ports:
SP Remote Console ports (5120, 5121, 5123, and 7578 for graphics) - TCP
I'm thinking you could probably telnet to the ports to make sure they are open.

Video chat in Messages opens in browser??

Why is it that when trying to do a video chat in Messages, the video window then opens in a browser?!
First, my request would not go through. I'd hit the video button and it was as if it wasn't even there.
Second, when my friend made the request, it opened up in my browser, and it was a terrible connection with terrible audio. Which I believe is unrelated as I know the connection speed is fast, and I'm on a new Mac Air.
Dissappointed, and slow to adopt or understand Apples changes. UGH.

Messages mimicking iChat.
I am much more an iChat person than iMessages and have mine set out like this:-
I have several Jabber and AIM based IDs and Screen Names in the Messages Menu > Preferences > Accounts
AS default any Non iMessages account being enabled will then show in the Window Menu under Buddies and CMD+1 as the keystroke (So you could have just iMessage and enable the Bonjour account).
This is technically a Combined list.
If you have a GoogleTalk ID and and AIM name plus the Bonjour option enabled the list is still brought to the front by Window Menu > Buddies (CMD+1)
If you now go to the General Section of the Preferences there is a line that talks about "Gathering all Accounts into one List". (This is all Non iMessages accounts).
The Window menu will now show as many Accounts as you have logged in each with it's own Name and CMD +# keystrokes (well actually CMD+1 through CMD+9 and CMD +0 is used for the main Messages window. Any more and they don't list Keystrokes).
If the Buddy lists are open when the app is closed then they will re-appear when you re-open the app without need of the Window Menu.
Apart from any iMessaging that you might need the interface part of the Messages window for it basically becomes a Tabbed Chat window.

Videos won't play in any browser

Just recently, videos won't play in any browser...Safari, Firefox. etc. It seems to happen with .wmv files. I reinstalled media player, but still have the problem.
I get this message.
"Cannot open the file. Verify that the path and filename are correct and try again"

First, check that Windows Media Player is set as the correct plug in - in Safari, go to help/installed plug ins. There should be a section marked 'Windows Media Player' showing 'application/x-mplayer2' and listing wmv files (amongst others).
Sometimes these arrors are caused by DNS failures. Ensure your system is fully up to date, and enter your ISP's DNS server IP addresses (usually two of them, sometimes three) in the 'DNS servers' box on the TCP page of the Network preference pane.
The DNS server IPs are usually supplied with the ISP's initial set up documentation, or located on the ISP's help page.
The reason it could be a problem is that in many iterations of MacOS X, the system is extremely sensitive to how quickly a DNS search responds. DNS is the process whereby a user-provided URL is converted into the correct IP address for internet lookup, so if the video source is held on a different server and the DNS process doesn't return a valid IP address in time, you would then get an error of the sort you describe.

How can I get video clips to play in a browser?

Scenario: A client visits my Web site. A shockwave movie plays automatically. It contains a video clip. When the SW movie encounters the frame containing the movie clip, it simply skips over it and continues. The video never plays. I have tried avi, windows media, mpeg and quicktime with the same results.
I have found that the video plays fine as long as I open the director movie with Director. But when I open it with a browser, the video clip does not play. I have tried Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers.
Does someone know what I am missing to make the video play in a browswer?

Presumably you have code to stop the playhead from moving while the video plays? You might want to post it.
If you are testing this locally, you need a folder named "dswmedia" somewhere in the path or linked content, like your video file, won't be found. Check the docs for more details.

After i download the adobe in my mc book i still can't see the video . do i have to download browser , how i can do that.

Why do I get the message that my browser is trying to block me from logging out of a website properly and to close my browser?

When I log into my online banking and then log out, I get a pop-up message that says my browser is trying to block me from logging out properly and recommends closing my browser to maintain security. This does not happen on any other website I log into.

Windows 7, Firefox 4.0. I have the exact same problem. Those solutions had no effect, I still get the error message described by OP.
And I also get "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page" as well as when I look at this page

UPDATE: I had 36 Safari windows open and minimized on the dock from my last session; 20 of those windows failed to open b/c Safari "couldn't find the server"; I just went to the URL bar of all 20 pages and clicked return, and all 20 pages loaded perfectly, without dropping any images or losing formatting. This is a puzzle!!!

Hi Mike, make sure the card has Mac ROM, or is a PC card with Mac ROMs flashed to it...
