No Video on Skype webcam Yosemite
I am using Skype 7.2.412 there is no video just a black screen (although ledi ndicates that it is on).
Tried also with Skype_7.1.665 same problem ( did try to reinstall, reinstall + reset computer) nothing seems to work.

Note: The same webcam works on Facetime and other programs that uses a webcam. And no, I am not using any of those programs when trying to use skype.
Try removing the app and adding it back. If that doesn't work

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

Skype webcam buffering - unable to see video
My Skype webcam just started buffering; the skype screen shows a grey screen with the loading circle, but will not load video. My webcam is also doing this, and the person who I was calling said it was happening to them too. I tried to run Microsoft Fix It, but it said Windows 8 wasn't supported. The audio was a bit sketchy as it would run normal audio, and then it would lower significantly before going back up to normal audio again; this happened randomly. This is the first time this has happened to me, and this computer is new; an ASUS ROG G751JT, which I got last december. The video cards seem fine, though I'm not sure if they need to be updated. Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

This may not be the right place to put this question, however, I have a client that does quite a bit of conferencing etc via Skype, using the webcam built into a 17" Macbook Pro.
They would like to be able to record the incoming Skype webcam and audio, so I can then bring it into FCP and pretty it up a bit. I can do the local stuff later, with a higher quality set up.
Is there a program that will record the incoming Skype webcam and audio directly onto the MBP hard drive?

Plus you can of course also use any number of screen recording software to capture the video ... the lastest Snow Leopard's Quicktime X application can do this. Its "free" if you have OS X 10.6 although its perhaps not as fully featured as some of the third party alternatives like ScreeFlow, iShowU and Snapz Pro
You can also use scan convertor hardware such as the Matrox MXO to capture it directly to regular video recording hardware. -
Hi I am running Mac Os 10.8.3 and have had no video on skype calls for a while on my macbook pro. camera say's its working but no video showing also today I tried my iphone for the skype call and that had no video either. Skype version on laptop is 6.4.0.833 and I checked in preferences and it is set to use the built in camera and I can see myself when I am in the Audio/Video preference pain. My iphone is running 4.8.0.324. Anyone got any idea's what I'm doing wrong?

Is there a way to obtain video using a webcam through video grabber?
HI everyone.
I am relatively new to labview.
Is there a way to display the webcam video through a video grabber without using labview vision acquisition software?
My project is to acquire the video from the webcam through the video grabber and interface it on labview.
I am using Labview 2011 student edition.
The camera is a cmos camera with a video format of PAL_N.
The video grabber is called "ezgrabber".

Video on skype not working. Only functioning in facetime and photo booth. Seems to be a common problem amongst users having bought a new macbook air recently. When you go to Preference and click on audio/video item video works but when clicking on another menue and returning to audio/videio picture is gone. Understand has something to do with a recent update von Apple (10.8.5... missing file for 32 bit version).
Anybody there to give me an advice?

Why Flash crashes when I stream video of my webcam?
Hi, I have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 and everytime I enter in a flash chat (like justin.tv) and try to send video of my webcam, it starts to stream video and then it crashes in about 5 seconds.
I've searched a lot at google for a solution, but i haven't found anything that works. And this only happens in Linux.

What may be wrong? My webcam works fine with applications like xawtv, i can even record video. The problem is with flash plugin. Every time I try to send my video it crashes after 5 seconds. o_O

To delete your conversation history:
Tap History > Edit.
Tap the edit icon next to the conversation you want to delete.
Tap Delete.

Using Final Cut Pro X
I want to capture video from my webcam into Final Cut. I have a USB microphone (Yeti) with which I want to record the audio. I cannot find an option to select my input source for audio when capturing this footage. Final Cut seems to default to my microphone on my webcam, which causes echoing and noise. I can select the USB mic when doing a voiceover, but when I capture video I cannot find an option to select my input. I've made my USB mic my default device in Sys Prefs, but that doesn't work. Any other ideas?
Options
1. Figure out how to change the default input for webcam capture in Final Cut
OR
2. Use another program. I've also tried to do the same in both QuickTime and iMovie, and they both capture audio only from the webcam as well.
Everything I've found online talks about voiceover. I don't want that. I want to capture video with it.

I do still have an issue that I cannot figure out. I'm using the same mic for webcam recording (now in QT thanks to Luis) and in Final Cut for voiceovers. Though I'm still on the same Mic the sound is not the same. It's close, but the sound on the voiceover sounds cleaner and clearer. I'm sitting in the same spot speaking the same way, but the sound quality difference is noticable. Not sure why.
It seems that the difference is in how each software deals with it.
It may be that QT is sampling audio differently from FCP X somehow, or using a different audio codec or whatever.
Just guessing, I really have no concrete knowledge.
Oh, wait: there are a few things that I can notice, after trying a small example: the QT audio is AAC at 44.1 KHz,
the FCP X is AIFF at 48KHz. Compression and sample rate are different. -
Panasonic TC-L55ET5 Skype Webcam
Bought the Panasonic TC-L55ET5 on Black Friday. Would like to use the Skype feature but don't want to pay the $100 for the webcams that are advertised. Are there any cheaper alternatives for a Skype webcam that is compatible with Viera Connect on this set? Thanks in advance for any help.

Can't start recording video from browser webcam to FMS
Hi, i'm developing a web site, and i'm trying to let the user record some video from his webcam. I'm using actionscript and flash media server. I got it work in my delevoper enviroment, but when i deployed it to the production server, the webcam can't get connected to the FMS.
I'm afraid this is because of port blocking from the firewall. Does anyone knows wich ports are userd for recording from a browser by the Flash Media Server? I will be really gratefull to anyhelp you can give me. I open the 1935 port in the Flas Media Server, but it still doesn't work.

Thank you.umm i'm afraid you don't have basic componets in
corperated into you application i have no way to tell if you have a functioning application or not because netstream and netconnection are seperate methods one is for creating a connection and the other is for connecting camera's or pre recorded media. you should try connecting and then establish your camera. -
Video on skype not working on hp truevision webcam

I have an integrated HP true vision webcam on my hp pavilion dv6 - 6b58sa laptop.
Now in the last month I have gone to skype but my video is not working. By this I mean, that the user on the other end can not see me. I have gone to options and video settings and tried to selctr my hp truevision webcam. SOmetimes it will appear in the drop down box and other times it won't. When it does I select it it gooes round thinking about it but then reverts back to a default webcam.
Now someone who has tried to help me has done system recovery, re installed factory settings but still not working. Drivers are up to date and working fine. Apprently my friend tells me it is due to microsoft update but there is no solution at this time.
Is this true, can some one please help me get my video back on skype. Once I plugged a scart socket from my tv to my laptop so I could have a view of skype on my tv. Since this this issue has occurred, could this be a reason why

Many thanksHi yaz00, welcome to the HP Forums. If the webcam is still not working after a system restore, it is quite possibly a hardware failure. If a Windows update causes the issue, you could simply roll back the driver to the original: Restore a driver to its previous version.

Also make sure there is nothing covering the webcam lense.
