No violations after creating Roles

Hi Experts,
So I have kind of a weird situation that Im hoping I can get some help with. Around a month ago we decided to upgrade GRC from version 10.0 to 10.1 and before the upgrades all SOD simulations were working fine but now for some reason is working on some roles and in others is not working. So for example if I create a new role with access to SU01 and PFCG, import in to NWBC, run synch jobs, etc. the role show "No Violations". Now if I run the analysis on a role that was available on the system before upgrade with those same tcodes I see the violations. I try re-importing all the roles on NWBC, re-generating the Ruleset all the logical connections look ok, running a full synch and nothing so far.
If I create a new role in the backend and run a synch the role gets to NWBC so data is getting from point A to point B, the problem is that some how the ruleset is not creating violations for new roles. What else can I check?

So I have a few more updates.
So today I did some more testing and this is what I see. I created a new risk and functions with SU01 and PFCG and after the approval process (risk approval, function approval) I executed the SOD again and the new violations are reflected. Because of the result of the previous step I decided to re-Upload the rule set and then I got the message “No rule set selected”, I did several more synchs and generations and after a couple of hours it was working but still no luck, the system only shows some of the violations from the rule set.
Current status of the issue is:
1. Only some violations are visible
2. If I create a new risk and execute SOD, the new risks are reflected
3. After re-Uploading ruleset and running synch and generate still only some violations are showing.
any other ideas of wat could be the problem?

Nothing changes in the recovery partition when you make the disks. After you have the disks and have tested to be sure they work you can delete the Recovery Partition. Vista and Windows 7 have the ability to resize exiting ntfs partitions. Shrink the Windows 7 partition, delete the Recovery partition then make a new ntfs partition in the extra space after the Win7 partition and use it to install Windows XP. XP does not work real well on the dv7 series you have to install a little hacked routine at startup to make the sound work and I found XP not to be too stable on my dv7-1175nr. I am now happily running Windows 7 64 bit on it and have no need for an actual XP install. If you must have XP Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate have an XP Mode which is a virtual machine....works great. I have a scanner for which there are no 64 bit drivers. If I need to use it I just fire up XP Mode. There is a full pass-through of usb devices.

2- Now open the Form Builder --> open Mennu.mmb --> F4,it open the property pallete --> Set use secturity option

5- Press F3 (Come back in Navigator Pane) then double click on Mennu, it open Mennu which is attached Forms then
double click on that one Form which attach Role with it --> click on Item Role --> and attach the Role
6- Go start Mennu --> Oracle Form6i-Admin --> Build after this it will ask
‘Enter System Passwors’ then Give the Local Password.
'Enter database connection ( e.g. t:node:SID) [LOCAL] ' Give ORCL ( but me confused what should i give over
here)
7- Create User DEO Identified By DEO
8- Grant DBA to DEO
9- Grant data_entry to DEO
When i run my application and get login by DEO user then i receive this Error:
FRM-10247: No activate items in root menu of application.
please let me know where i am making mistake

Just check your second point.
- Now open the Form Builder --> open Mennu.mmb --> F4,it open the property pallete --> Set use secturity option
YES and in Module Role option set Roles --> form_entryHere, you are using "form_entry" role to the menu but you've granted data_entry role to the user.
Hence, at run time forms is expecting user with form_entry role, which it's not getting.

How to raise create role request in OIM 11gR2?

How can I let a user to raise a create role request in OIM 11gR2?
If I assigned the Role Viewer or Role Authorizer admin role to the user, the create button for role is disabled.
If I assign the user as Role Administrator, the role will be directly created without raising any request.
If I assign the user as SPML Admin, the create button is enabled, but after filling the form and clicking the "save" button, an exception will be thrown saying "IAM-3054100 : The logged-in user AA10127 does not have createRole permission on Role entity."

Perhaps you are tripping over Bug 6928496. I suspect best bet is to open a SR with Oracle rather than hope for similar occurance within the user community.

Follow the below steps
1) First deploy your webdynpro application in porta using SDM password. Hope you alreadsy done this.
2) Create an WEbdynpro iview based on your application. for this
Go to Content administration -> portal content
3) After that create a role and assgin your webdynpro iview to that role. (you can also create a page and then assign your iview to that page and page to workset and workset to role. This is the standard way and also optional. Search in SDN about these basic topics). Make the role 'entry point' property as yes.
3) then go to User Administration-> Identity management. There you can selct role in the drip down and search for your role and assign this role to the end users.
It is very simple and there lof of helpful documents in help.sap.com. Just go and search.

CUP 5.3 (SP5): Error after creating mitigations and approving

After creating a request, and mitigating the risks in the request, I receive the error:
Mitigation control <MC ID> could not be saved for user <USER ID> - Exception from the service : Mitigation record doesn't exist
However, the roles get autoprovisioned without the mitigating control being updated.

I was getting an error in RAR that it couldn't send out the notification e-mail. The Java Mail Client had not been configured. Once I had done this, and restarted the server0, it worked.

How to trigger approval request for resources after assigning role

Hi,
We have a use case where we need to assign resources to user via assigning roles.
In order to achive this use case
1. we have created a role and assigned the access policy to it which contain the resources to be provisioned once the role is assigned to the user.
2. Created a SOA composite having manager approval and assigned this composite to a approval policy of type 'Assign Role'.
3. I am already having the approval policy for the resources which are present in roles. The approval policy of resources is of type "Provision Resource".
4. Also the SOA composite for resource apporal is deployed in OIM and assigned to the approval policy.
5. Now when I am raising the request from OIM of type "Assign Role" the approval defined in the SOA composite for Role approval gets triggered. After approving the role request the role is assigned to the user and also the resources defined in the access policy gets provisioned to teh user account.
Now I want to trigger the resource approval process after the role approval instead of directly provisioning the resources. So that once the role is approved the individual Approval Process of resources part of roles should also gets invoked. Based on the approval or rejection of resources approval, the resource gets assigned to the user.
Please let me know how to achieve the above use case.

Access policy is saying whoever gets xyz role, will get this abc resource. Now once a user gets xyz role, you are stopping to get abc resource? both are contradictory. Don't go through access policy. User is anyway going to request for roles. Modify your flow and make user request for resource. Have your composite and approval policy attached. User will get resource once it is approved.

ERM Unhandled error; Unable to create role (Please provide a profile name.)

I am running into 'yet another' issue in ERM! This error really has me going in circles because I am able to execute the exact same process in our Sandbox environment with NO PROBLEM... If any of you Guru's can help to point me in the right direction on how to address this issue it would be greatly appreciated.
 
Here's the issue:
 
In our SANDBOX enviroment, the role creation process works as designed (Role Methodology: Definition --> Authorization --> Derivation --> Risk Analysis --> etc.). I'm able to define the role, add t-codes in the Authorization step and even Maintain them in PFCG.
 
However in our DEV environment when I take the same steps and I add t-codes to the role, I get an error when I try to Maintain in PFCG --> Unhandled error; Unable to create role (Please provide a profile name.)
 
The crazy thing is that when I remove the t-codes (to zero) I'm able to Maintain in PFCG!!! I am then able to save the Role 'Shell' in the backend (not adding any t-codes), come back into ERM and add t-codes there and Maintain in PFCG somehow works with the t-codes added now. So it seems as if that connection to the back through PFCG with no t-codes establishes the profile somehow and allows me to finish the process as intended. This is a pain because I will have to take this work around step for every role that I create in Development.
 
In Sandbox however this works as intended and generates a profile at this step after adding the T-codes, thereby allowing me to Maintain in PFCG with no error.
 
The configuration of these 2 boxes is exactly the same and the connections are both working successfully, I'm going crazy trying to figure this out! PLEASE HELP!

I have run the configuration validator for both Sandbox & Dev Environments and received the same results in both. I would like to export the results, but am getting the following error when I select the 'Export' button for both:

Initially I thought that the error was result of the "ERMApplicationRTACheck" failing, however it is failing for both environments with this Reason:

the obvious culprits: did you create the standby with the 'duplicate' command? Did you start the replication agents for both active and standby?
Can you share the 'create active standby ...' command you used and the steps you followed to set this up?

Use of "DBA_OBJECTS" in "AFTER CREATE" Trigger

We would like to store some extra information about our objects we have in the database. To do so we tought of the idea of creating a 'documenting' table containing an object_id that references to the object_id from the view dba_views.
Now we want to automatically create a new record in our documenting table when a new object is created, in the first stage this should only contain the object_id
To accomplish this we are using an 'AFTER CREATE' trigger, but when this trigger fires and the code searches for the new object_id in dba_objects, it does not return any records and generates an error. Likely because when the trigger is executed, the view is not yet updated?

What is "ora_dict_obj_name" defined as?
Another option might be to setup a DBMS_SCHEDULER job to run the following insert
firstly though, create the following table ;
create document_table as (select * from dba_objects where rownum < 1)and then setup a DBMS_SCHEDULER job to run the following:

Then you won't have a need for any trigger, and can better manage when you want your documentation to be updated.
Another option might be to use COMMENT, which can be used on tables, views, materialized views, but won't cover all objects
to the extent you might want.

DSO activation problem after creating the secondary indexes

Hi,
I am facing the problem with DSO activation after creating the secondary indexes.
Compared with Info Cubes there is no functionality available which allows dropping and recreating a secondary index before/after the data activation.
As a workaround I can write a simple report which drops and creates the indexes on database level.
By using a process chain, we can simply insert the drop index report before data activation and the create index report after the data activation process.
Can any body help me step by step procedure or Material to write the programs for delete index and create index reports on DSO object?..

hi,
in BI if you are using the dso for reporting then you can simply chk the settings of dso for SID generation.
no need to create the indexes or delete it.
if the dso is not used for report then no need to use indexes.

Bug report: Naming a Bin after creating it with drag'n'drop

There seems to be a small bug when giving a newly created bin a name after creating it by drag'n'drop of several clips onto the "New Bin" icon.
To reproduce:
Select some clips in your project browser
Drag them onto the New Bin button
A new bin is created with the clips in it
- the bin name for it appears to be selected, and editable - just as if you had created a new empty bin by clicking the New Bin button
- type in a new name - it accepts the name fine, now press enter.
- your new name disappears, and *now* you are really in the mode to edit the bin name
- type your name again, and it works.
Work around:
When creating new bins by using drag'n'drop of clips onto the New Bin button, first press enter once to enter into the proper edit mode before giving the bin a new name.

How to save report in PersonalCategory after creating it using java panel?

Hi,
Anybody knows How to save report in PersonalCategory after creating it using java panel?
I dont want to save it in public folder. I want to save report (webi) in user's personal category.
can anybody send me source code?
It will help me a lot.

i'm assuming that you have seen my post that i did successfuly save report in user's personal category.
Actually the report is created in webi java panel using RE SDK and is saved in Report Sample Folder then i'm saving it in user's personal category by following code

But the report is presents in the Folder also and in user's personal category also.
I dont want the report to be in the folder (Report Sample) if i saved it in user's personal category.
How can i do that?

I am having an activity which sends the approval work item.
Now my requirement is to SUBMIT an ABAP report after creating the WI but before completion of WI.
I can not call this report before approval activity because i need to pass this WI ID to this report.
Please suggest some way to solve this.

Hello,
You could create a 2-from-2 fork and put the workitem in one branch and the report in the other. Have the report branch wait 1 minute and then read the workitem id from the other branch.
What is the purpose of this report? Why does it need the workitem id?
