No Visual Composer server was found at specified address

After installing VC server and a restart of the Portal system, I can not connect to the VC server.
I was able to connect before the restart, create a model, deploy and test it.
I looked at Vis admin and the components are running. I also tried to stop the client, server components but I get the same error.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

    Hi,
Next thing to do is to make sure that the parent paths issue is out of the way:
Create a new asp file at the location: d:\inetpub\wwwroot\SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer\server\bin\test.asp
    with the following content:
    <%@ Language="JScript" %>
    <!-- #include file="..~server.ini" -->
    <%
       Response.write("Success");
    %>
If you do not see the "Success" string printed out when you call your asp in the following way:
    http://server:port/VCServer/server/bin/test.asp
then you still don't have this parent paths configured correctly.
If you do then you should open an OSS message and let dev support have a look at your installation.

    Yaniv.

    Hi Mario,
    mh...strange.
I used the VC on our old server with my notebook without a problem (great tool!).
Now we have a new server with a new NW 04s SP10 (very fresh installed ) and there I get the "Server Error: Visual Composer services are not found" and "This product requires MSXML Parser v4.0" errors.
Unfortunately I cannot test it on the old server, because it was a interim system.

  • Visual Composer + WAS 6.40 Stack 14

    Hello everybody,
i have heared that with stack 14 of SAP NW 2004 a Visual Composer Server doesnt need a standalone IIS-Webserver anymore and will be integrated within the WAS. Anyone has more infos on that?

In that page u found a PDF that name the VC6.0 and the new one that will not have to use ISS, support FLEX, etc this VC they called VC Netweaver 2004 and according with the PDF can be used with EP60, I dont know if this version VC04 never came out and SAP decided directly get out the VC04s version. From what I know one of our client buy the license of NetWeaver 2004 and for what I can see the VC that cames with this version is the VC6.0, pls correct me if I wrong.
What I really care is knowing the fact that VC04s (the version that will get out very soon) can we used or not in a portal EP6 and in the case that can run find out if there is some limitations.
    thx

    Hello Tommy,
Don't Forget to set the authentication to windows & SQL !
    (page 11 of installation guide)
    3.4 Installing Visual Composer Storyboard
To install Visual Composer Storyboard, you must first check that the SQL server is configured
according to Visual Composer requirements. Following the prerequisite software installation,
you install Visual Composer Storyboard on the Visual Composer server machine.
    Procedures
    To configure the SQL server:
    1. From the Windows Start menu, choose Programs ¨ Microsoft SQL Server ¨
    Enterprise Manager.
    2. Under the Console Root ¨ Microsoft SQL Servers list, locate your machine, right-click
    on it and select Properties.
    3. In the SQL Server Properties dialog box, click the Security tab. Then select SQL Server
and Windows as the Authentication option and System Account as the Startup service
    account option and click OK.
    To activate IIS security features:
    1. From the Windows Start menu, choose Settings ¨ Control Panel ¨ Administrative
    Tools ¨ Internet Services Manager.
    2. From the Internet Information Services tree, expand your machine node and expand
    the Default Web Site tree.
    3. Right-click the VCServer folder and from the context menu, choose Properties.
    4. In the VCServer Properties dialog box, open the Directory Security tab.
It runs well as soon I put the local account to run the services (as said in the installation guide too).
    Hope it helps !
    Kind Regards

  • WebDynpro runtime mode in Visual Composer

We are unable to create and deploy Visual Composer projects with WebDynpro runtime mode due to we unable to see any datasource of systems in "Find Data Service" area.
In the same time when we use Flex runtime mode BAPIs in "Find Data Service" apears.

Sorry, I mean WebDynpro runtime in Visual Composer
    I've found the solution.
WebDynpro only supports Webservices as datasource.
    See also note 950492
    RFCs
However, if you uncheck mask unsupported features under Tools -> Options, and then deploy, BAPIs will also work to a certain extent.

  • Problem installing Visual Composer

    Hi experts,
I downloaded Visual Composer from SAP Servise but I have not been able to install it on my laptop due to the following issues:
It is looking for a SQL client, and an IIS server.
Can you tell me what I might be doing incorrectly?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer ,
Your Visual Composer installation is comprised of the following components:
    <b>Visual Composer Server</b>
made up of the following: Web Server (IIS), Storage Layer (Microsoft SQL Server), Visual Composer Storyboard (the Visual Composer interface
that you use for portal content development)
<b>Visual Composer Addons to SAP Enterprise Portal</b> (connects Visual Composer to portal)
Visual Composer is internally using IIS Server as Webserver. So IIS Server is mandatory...
Meta Data informations regarding our applications which are developed using Visual Composer are stored in the DataBase. Thats why its is asking for SQL Clien.
       Installation guide is here....
