  • Higher volume for video playback?

    Hello everyone!
I am new to the boards and to the touchpad.  I have a question about adjusting the volume in video playback.  I woudl like to know while during the conversion process, are there any converters out there that can boost the volume?  I have been playing with Movavi, AVS, and Cucusoft.  I am converting an AVI to MPEG-4 or Ipad format, whichever is on the menu.  When I transfer the converted file, the video looks great and the audio plays back.  However, the volume to me is not high enough.  I have also used my headphones and it still does not play as loud as my iphone 4 and they are basically the same file and format.  I bought this because of the price and I am going on vacation later this year and I want to use it on the plane so that is why I am having the volume issue.  To me it seems it wont be loud enough on the plane.   Is there anything I am missing?  I have also tried to upgrade to the latest OS version but the TP is always coming back with the unable to connect message.  I am still working on that.  I cant get the web doctor to work but that is another thread.
    Thanks very much

Ok, I think I have mastered how to convert my movies to play on the TP with no issues.  However, I need to somehow increase the volume level of the converted movie.  I have already installed the preware option that increases the internal volume levels, but some of the movies I have converted seem a little low for my taste.  I have been trying trial versions of several video converters such as DVD fab, Xilisoft, Cucusoft and others but I like Handbrake's track record and it's free!
What I would like to know is if there is a volume setting in Handbrake?  If not does anyone know a way to increase the volume levels when you convert movies any other way?
    Thanks very much.

  • I have an iPad 2 and all of a sudden I have no sound in game apps. I have usual volume in videos and YouTube, I do get volume for games if I plug in headphones. I have switched to screen lock off and on again and I have also done a reset twice.....help :)

I have an ipad2 and all of a sudden I have stopped getting sound in my game apps. I get normal sound on YouTube and I player and downloaded DVDs. If I plug headphones in then I can get sounds for the games. I have switched the lock screen button off and on again and done a reset twice, can anyone help me with this?

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

  • IPhone 5s iOS 8.2. low volume with video turned of...

    Hello,
Today I stumbled across a curious bug on my iPhone 5s with the most recent iOS version. When I make a video call and either one of the users (or both) has the video on, sounds works fine for me. When both users turn off their video during the call (or if the call is made without video at all), the volume suddenly drops down on my end. If video is turned back on again, volume is good again. In other words - during a no video call I almost can't hear the other user from my iphone, but he/she can hear me all the time.
It's no coincidence, tried it a couple of times.
Does anyone know how to fix that?

I have the same issue and it has to do with iOS 8.2
Apple, please mend this ASAP. Really stupid change since iOS 8.1
If you for some reason must have many different folder make sure that you put the newst photo in the last folder so one can easily find a photo when I don't want to copy all photos to, let' say, my friend computer.

  • No volume on videos converted in i tunes!

I recently tried putting movies into my ipod. They were mpeg's so they dragged into itunes with no problem. But they weren't formatted for ipod. So the new version of itunes has the 'convert selection for ipod' option under 'advanced'. It made a duplicate copy, but the duplicate had no volume in itunes and in my ipod. Has anyone else encountered the problem? Please help!

You might want to try closing the offending app and rebooting the iPad as well. Resetting all settings may in fact work, but it takes a bit of time to have to reset all of the device preferences, so I'm suggesting something easy and simple first. If this doesn't work, then resetting all settings might be your next step.
I am unclear if you are playing the videos in the FaceBook app or in Safari, so close both apps and reboot.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Can i Increase volume for videos on my I pad?

  • Permanently changing volume for video files to iPod

I've got a bunch of old-time musical shorts from the 30's which I've saved in .mp4 format so I can also view them on my iPod. However, many of these files are of low volume, and all of them vary greatly from each other. This is getting a bit annoying.
Is there some way of permanently changing, and standardizing the volume of these files before I transfer them to my iPod?
    Thanks,
    Jim

There is no way to change them automatically, but you can change the volume level for each video manually.
Select the video in iTunes and open the "Get Info" window (command + I or file -> Get Info). Select the options tab and use the volume adjustment slider to correct the volume. Then tap the "OK" button.
This is a trial and error procedure, but if you have enough patience, you'll get things more to your liking.

  • Editing volume of videos and/or background audio

Is there a way to increase volume of an inserted video? Even
though the "lower background audio during slides with additional
adudio" is selected, the background audio still drowns out my
videos. There is no option to edit the background audio for
    selected slides.

    Welcome to our community, foxcspd
It's possible that Captivate isn't sensing the video as being
something that should be considered with the volume reduction. If
so, I would consider that a bug and would also suggest you consider
reporting it to Adobe as same. You do that using the Wish Form/Bug
    Reporting form.
    Click
here to view the WishForm/Bug Reporting Form
Assuming that's the case here, you might work past it by
creating a small and silent audio file that you would insert on the
slide so as to influence the background volume reduction.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Normalize volume of videos in iTunes

    Hi,
my problem is that the videos that i imported in iTunes have very different volume settings, i want to normalize the audio of the videos (i have about 3000 videos) but there's no programs that do it for me.
    I found this post: http://macenstein.com/default/archives/722
but is not a real solution for me because i have to execute the trick 3000 times!
Another bug is that quicktime after the modification change ".mp4" in ".mov" and the videos will be not linked correctly in iTunes library.
    Hope anyone solve this problem!

With iTunes open, right or control click a video, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the Options tab. The Volume slider is right there. You can also use the Equalizer Preset. When you are done just click OK and that sets that particular video to those settings. You can do the same with all your video and audio tracks.
"Another bug is that quicktime after the modification change ".mp4" in ".mov" and the videos will be not linked correctly in iTunes library." Do you mean the most recent QuickTime update 7.6?

  • How do I lower sound file volume during video play?

I have a Flash CS4 project with sound that starts to play in the first scene, set to event/loop so that it plays all through the entire time.
But I have a piece of video with audio in another scene and I would like to have the sound file playing at a lower volume while the video is playing, then get it to return to normal volume when the video is over.
I have no actionscript at this point. Just timeline animations, etc.
Anyone  have an idea how I could accomplish this?
    Thanks!

Thank you for this, but unfortunately, I don't think this quite does what I am aiming for.
    1) Now the file is in AS3.
    2) I have one audio file making background music throughout the entire file.
    3) The video comes in at a later scene.
    4) I want to lower the volume of the background music file while the video is playing, then get it to normal volume after the video.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Stereo bluetooth problems ( Volume control & Video out of Sync )

I just got a Sony HB-IS800 Stereo Blue-tooth Headphone for my iPhone 3GS.
There are a number of problems with 3.0 and stereo blue-tooth.
    1) The biggest issue is no volume control on the iphone when you connect your blue-tooth headphones. the sound is set at a loud volume and there is no way to adjust it at all.
    2) The second issue playing video on the iphone and the sound on the headphones are out of sync with the video's audio about a second or two. Sometimes I play a movie and don't see this issue or it is not that bad. All video Podcast are always out of sync.
I have test this on my iMac and I can adjust the volume and don't have audio sync problem at all.
I was wondering if in the 3.1 iphone firmware are these issues fixed in anyway?

  • No volume on Videos when phone in Silent mode.

When my iPhone is in silent mode and I play a video there's no volume (even though the volume is turned up on the video) the only way to get volume is to flick the switch and put the phone on loud. Then have to come out of the video and go back in to hear volume   sure it didn't used to be like this..

I have experienced a similar problem, I had sound for about 30 s, while playing movies, then the screen froze for 2s and then it continued playing, but without sound.
I restored my Ipod, and then updated it, and then everything worked fine.
It was very strange, I think I might disconnect my Ipod too soon while updating him the first time
    Hope this has been helpful

    Hi hermannfrombondorf,
That is interesting, have you tried adjusting the volume while listening to your voicemails? If you have, take a look at the article below for further assistance on sound volume from the reciever.

In the future just reply to your previous post to bump it to the top.
I noticed that you did not get any replies in the iMovie forum.
have your tried just Googling for:
increase volume in an existing video
There seems to be good hits when I did that.
