No VSTs in CS6 Effects Menu

Hello. I'm hoping someone can help me with a significant problem. I cannot access ANY VSTs in my CS6 effects menu.
I have some VSTs I've downloaded from Behringer. Unzipped them to appropriate VST folders, opened CS6, went to the plugin manager and added them, as you can see here.
Then (and I've tried with all of the following) I either open a new blank single-track or multitrack file, or a previously recorded multi-track file, go to an unused (or even used) track then open the effects menu (or one of the effects rack dropdowns) and I can see the words VST and VST3 but nothing opens when either the cursor is placed over one of those or if I click on one of them.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I believe all of those are VSTi - virtual synthesizers, which are not supported in Audition.  There was an issue in CS6 where these would scan and display as valid, but were not usable.  This has been corrected in Audition CC and VSTi's no longer display as "Working."

  • What Happened to Bridge CS6 Tool Menu?

For some reason some of my Bridge CS6 Tool menu has disappeared. See the bottom of the menu it's missing the option to go into Photoshop Bactch Image processor etc
This is what it should look like:
How do I get back the missing options?
    Thanks,

This morning I booted from another internal drive and repaired permissions and the disk using the Apple Disk Utility and Disk Warrior. That didn't fix anything in fact I now have even less options under the Tool Menu.

  • Why does the displacement effect is not appearing on my adobe muse effects menu?

I have seen tutorials about the displacement effect but when i open the effects menu, it doesnt appear, and I dont know why, can someone help me with this issue please

I think you may be referring to Scroll Effects. The Scroll Effects are now located in their own panel. From Muse's Window menu, choose 'Scroll Effects' to display the panel with all the options.

Thanks for the reply. Glad you asked. Please check out my blog post on the use of the Difference Matte, especially for the Premiere Elements Mac users who run into this Windows Only situation.

We are not Adobe. Rather user to user. So, I am not sure why these keying features are not included in Premiere Elements Mac.
Please review and consider the above, and, if any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

  • Keynote for iOS "Effects" menu is EXTREMELY slow?

I'm using Keynote for iOS, and I've been using it for a long time.  I want to make a presentation and add transitions and builds.  When I click on text and select Build In or Build Out, the Effects menu is incredibly slow.  I can barely scroll through it, and when I tap on an effect, it takes 20 seconds for the preview window to show up.  It was never like this before the last update.  I force-quitted and everything, too.  Do I have too much stuff stored in the app?  Whatever I have to do, I don't want to lose all of my presentations, or have to open them up one-by-one in another app.  Can anyone please help me soon?

Never mind, this problem is not taking place anymore.

  • Newbie can't get plugin to show up in Effects menu

I really am an experienced software engineer, but this plugin stuff is baffling me. I've built a couple of the sample projects in the SDK and moved their .AEX and .R files (and .RC files, out of superstition) under the After Effects application folder, but none of the expected plugins show up in the Effects menu. Anyone have any ideas on what detail I'm overlooking like a rookie?

given the code compiled correctly, all you need is the .aex file.
the .r and .rc are only used by the compiler.
the .aex belongs in the following path:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS3\Support Files\Plug-ins
or where ever you installed after effects at.
just make sure they're in the ...Support Files\Plug-ins
in the plug-ins directory you may create another folder to keep the plug-ins you create organized in one place.
AE will look in any folder in the plug-ins directory as long as it's name doesn't start with a tilda sign (~).
now where will they be found inside AE?
if they are effects (plug-ins that are to be applied to layers), then they'll be found in the effects menu.
unless you changed the category in the .r file they should appear in the "Sample Plug-ins" category in the effects menu.
if they are AEGPs (plug-ins that do operations as opposed to image processing) then they'll be in the category set in their .cpp file using the AEGP_InsertMenuCommand function.
if you put the files in the right place and they still woun't load, then they're probably invalid. (either built wrong, or not at all built)
    b.t.w
if you start a debug session using visual studio, it prompts you for the afterFX.exe file.
once selected, visual studio should put the compiled plug-ins in the correct place.
at least it did for me.

  • Audition CS6 Help menu not working

I have downloaded Audition CS6. When I go to 'Help' i get error 10. Is there no help file with the trial?

    Hi All,
I found this on the web and it works!
<http://forums.adobe.com/message/4417566#4417566> CS6 Help Menu Not Working
This does not apply to one application, but is a suite wide fix.
I had been running the CS6 Master Collection trial download version and the help menu, specifically the online "Help" and "Support Center" listed on the main help menu dropdowns of all applications within the suite, was not working, able to connect, or an error that the folder did not exist (apparently corrupted).
Once I just got the CS6 Master Collection (DVDs) I uninstalled the trials, then installed the hard copy version, with the normal reboot in between. The Help menus still did not work.
This is what I'm running. : Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
I called Adobe support and the following was my solution for both my desktop and netbook with this problem.
    1.    Close all running Adobe applications.
    2.    In the directory C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/  Delete the "Adobe Help" folder.
    (C:Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Help/)
    3.    Reboot
    4.    Then go to Adobe.com/support/chc/   (this is the "community help center")
    5.    Click under "Step 2" the "Install Now*" button.
    6.    On one of the windows that open there is a Preferences drop down menu. Select the one that allows online help connection as well as local.
    7.    Click "download" to begin the folder download. The downloaded folders are more than 1 GB for the CS6 Master Suite help files. Watch at the bottom left of the download window to see the small progress meter.
    8.    Once done, reboot.
My CS6 Master Collection help menus throughout were fixed by completing the above.
Thanks Tom! ...at Adobe support for this fix procedure.
I hope this helps someone else out there.
This does not apply to one application, but is a suite wide fix.

  • Rearrange Effect Menu in After Effects?

Is there a way to rearrange the effects in our Effect Menu in AFter effects.  I just installed a plugin and now I have an extra 20 folders in my Effect Menu.  It's really annoying.  I would like to combine all of those effects into one folder.  So I could select Boris, then in that folder would be all of the 20 new folders with all their plugins.  Red Giant would be another one I would like to combine, I have 4 or 5 folders from them also.  Just hate having my drop down menu to so long and un organized.  I realize most of you guys probably just use the search feature on the right, and that maybe what I need to start doing, I just like the drop down menu.
    Thanks for any help
    Chaz

No, plug-in categories are hard-coded in the plug-ins themselves. You can always use the Effects&Presets palette set to Explorer hierarchy and organize your plug-ins that way, though....

  • Offset path Tool versus Object menu and Effect menu

After a strugle with the ofset path tool I find the solution...
Offset Path in the effects menu acts totally different thean ofset Path in the Object menu WHY?
    What happened;
Offset path in the effects menu gives you a centerline with offset path which isn't modifiable..
for in stance in my kind of work i want to create a paralell road on one side of the main road.
the offset path in object menu gives me the right result, an offseth path which I can cut and modify.
It should have been easier if the different behavior was in an offset Path tool menu...

Offset Path in the effects menu acts totally different thean ofset Path in the Object menu WHY?
Because the command in the Object menu is a straightforward path-modifying command. You select something, apply the command, and the result is a new path.
Everything in the Effect menu is, in Illustrator parlance, rendered as a "live" effect. That is, the program creates the modified version sort of "behind the scenes." That lets you continue to modify the original path, and the Effects that you have applied automatically re-apply on-the-fly. So instead of Offset Path giving you an new path that you can no longer manipulate as if it is one stroked path, Effect>Path>Offset Path lets you continue to work with the single path without having to start over every time you want to change it.
An Effect can be "nailed down" to "literal" new objects by using an Expand command.
Offset path in the effects menu gives you a centerline with offset path which isn't modifiable..
The offset path is "modifiable" in that you can change the attributes of the Effect any time you want. The offset path is also "modifiable" in that you can re-shape the path to which the effect is applied, and the offset path updates automatically. That's a good thing.
for in stance in my kind of work i want to create a paralell road on one side of the main road.
So when you're done manipulating the orginal path, and you now want to "nail down" the offset path as a separate path that you can modify, select Object>Expand Appearance.
the offset path in object menu gives me the right result, an offseth path which I can cut and modify.
Yes. But it's frankly rather lame. That is, if you now need to bend the whole road in another direction, or alter one of its curves, how are you going to do that for both sides of the road at the same time? With Offset Path applied as a live effect, you can. With Offset Path already Expanded, or applied as the older...uh...dead...command, you can't.
So it's your choice. The interface is needlessly awkward and confused, because when Adobe adds new features it seldom does a good job of integrating them with the existing features. So you end upon with both the older and newer features which essentially do the same thing. That's the nature of Illustrator--it becomes increasingly inelegant, cluttered, and confused over time.
One example to the contrary: CS4 finally did away with the separate Filters menu, which was just the old, "literal" versions of most things in the later "live" Effects menu (all of which can be turned into "literal" versions by an Expand command). It was hideously confusing for newcomers to Illustrator to see the same things listed in two menus, one labeled "Filters" and the other labeled "Effects." On the face of it, what's the difference between a "filter" and an "effect" in most people's minds?
One case-in-point example: The Effects menu has a list of Pathfinder Effects that mirror the names of the command that reside in the Pathfinder Panel. But they do different things; they are meant to be applied to different kinds of objects.
Such is the nature of Illustrator. It's a hodge-podge, grab-bag collection of scattered features which are often redundant and often poorly integrated with each other.
It should have been easier if the different behavior was in an offset Path tool menu...NO! The last thing this program needs is more off-the-cuff, willy-nilly, ad-hoc palettes. It needs a thorough interface overhaul, with a dedicated and careful eye toward concise elegance and organizational efficiency. That would be a very ambitious undertaking because the program has been allowed to become such a rat's nest of disarray.

  • Clip vanishes when I go on the Effects menu

    I'm on Adobe Premiere Elements.
I'm starting a video, I've imported the files and the music I want to go on the video, sliced the clip I want, put it on the time line and rendered it, it works fine you can see the clip box. But when I clicked on the Effects menu, the clip box vanishes, it still has the render line and when you play it you can still see the clip in the preview box but because the clip box is not there you can't put any effects on it.
Does anyone know what's wrong and what I can do to solve it?
Thank you very much in advance.

I'm not sure what you mean by clip box.
If you're in timeline view, are you saying that the clip disappears from your timeline?
If so, press the \ key. This will show you your entire video project on the timeline. Be sure to scroll up and down to make sure your clip is not, for some reason, on an upper or lower video track.

  • Boris plug ins not showing up in effect menu?

I had to uninstall and reinstall my system. Everything is fine except my Boris effects are not showing up the effect menu. The disc was installed and the a copy of the folder is in the library app support and the FCP system support folder. Why don't I see them in the program?

yes- I have the few Boris options that come with FCS.
But I'm talking about the full Boris Complete effect application. The effects should be in the video filter drop down menu. For some reason they are not showing up.

  • Indesign Missing from Bridge CS6 Tools Menu

I'm using CS6 and indesign is missing from my tools menu. I checked startup scripts in preferences and it is checked. I tried unchecking it and restarting it then rechecking it and I also tried resetting my preferences when starting bridge. Running OSX 10.8.5 and Bridge 5.0.0.39
P.S. I feel like this should be an easy fix and an easy thing to search for but I've searched extensively and the only thing I've found is the question asked occasionally. I've not found anything for CS6 and I've not found a solution.

Yes. I ended up solving this on my own but I did want to revisit it for anyone else who finds this message. I can't believe it had been that long since I'd generated a conatct sheet like this but, for what it's worth, this change is not for the better. Previously you were able to use the tools in indesign to control the quality and file size of the final pdf. The new way of doing it is certainly faster but it gives much less control and I ended up with a 50mb contact sheet when presenting around 150 images
Anyway, this is how you do it in later versions of CS http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshop/cs/using/WS42C3020A-DAD1-4f92-8014-012263F3A51D.
Also, the reason Indesign and After Effects were greyed out when I was trying to use the place command is because I wasn't trying to place a single image I was trying to make a contact sheet. Meaning I had multiple images selected. You can only place one image at a time so the place command is greyed out.

What size is the Oil Paint.8bf?
    (right click and choose properties)
Is the oil paint filter on the menu in the 32 bit version of photoshop cs6?
Also, i notice you have the Viveza filter in the required plugins folder.
It's not a good idea to put third party plugins in the required plugins folder.

A couple of other things to try:
    1. Disable the third party plugins by holding down the Shift key just after starting the launch of photoshop cs6.
Keep holding the Shift key until you get the dialog as below.
    2. Reset the photoshop cs6 preferences by holding down the Shift+Alt+Ctrl keys just after launching cs6 and
keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop settings file
      Press Yes because you do.

  • Where is the "Effects" menu in FW CS5?

I'm trying to create a NavBar in Fireworks CS5 and I'm following along an Adobe Document describing how to do this...  However the step I'm on in the tutorial is saying select "Effects -> Bevel" and I can't find it anywhere...
Did this get moved or removed?  How do I accomplish this?
    Thanks In Advance!

I'm not sure about CS5, but I've always added effects via the Properties Inspector (at the bottom right).
These options may not appear if you're using a Bitmap tool; try the Pointer tool instead, and make sure that an object has been selected. (You can confirm this by looking in the Layers panel.) Then click on the "+" icon to access the dropdown menu of Effects (a.k.a. "live filters").
Otherwise, you can apply the same basic effects via the Filters menu (at the top of the interface); but those versions are for bitmaps only and are uneditable once applied.
    Hope this helps!
